Exercise Not just yet i dont think maybe in 5-6 years time

Ive just carved the pumkin and made coq o vin for tea, im sure the kids will prod it round their plate and eye it suspiciously like im feeding them poison. Sometimes i wonder why i bother, it drives me mad when they whinge after ive slaved in the kitchen. Still im quite looking forward to it

Its freezing here have just put the heating on, would like to get my jammies on and curl up with dinner ha ha ha! Want Dh home, its so tiring having to do it all. Misery over sorry am mega tearful at the moment. Did anyone else blub all the way through The Royle family last night?

mummymelling · 30/10/2006 16:33

twelveyeargap · 30/10/2006 16:39

It's not easy, I have to say. Really been struggling for the last few weeks. Hopefully only another two weeks or so of fatigue to go though.

Hope you're ok at work this evening.

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 30/10/2006 18:55

Hi all

DD1 out trick or treating (a day early but her friends invited her!!). DD2 gone with DP to Tesco as I just didn't have time to go today what with watching tv on the sofa all afternoon! He is going to buy his first pumpkin and was very dubious, can't wait to see what he brings back. Will have to decorate the house tomorrow if I can be bothered.

LG&T - I cried at Royle Family last night too. It was sad though. DD1 said "you're not crying are you" and I just said "I'm pregnant!". Its a great excuse.

jessinwa · 30/10/2006 19:08

hi all!
i have been away for a few reasons. first i had to prepare for my in-laws' visit. then they got here. i was really dreading the visit. i get along very well with my fil, but my mil is another story. she is a pita. i must say that things have been much better than i had anticipated. they are here until wednesday evening so my presence on mn will be limited at best.
moomimin, i am like you in that i didn't look pregnant with munch until i was about seven or so months along. even when i was 41 weeks i still looked just kind of fat and not big-round-belly pregnant. i want one of those this time. so far this pregnancy has been totally different to last time so maybe i will get that big belly after all.
speaking of everything being different this time, i have been getting hives on my arms and legs for the last couple weeks. my doctor says it is just my pregnant body freaking out and that she has seen this before. have any of you ever experienced hives during pregnancy or heard of it before? it sucks. another weird thing i have been experiencing is a fluttering in my chest. my doctor isn't so dismissive about this and wants me to visit a cardiologist to make sure that my heart is ok. she said it is probably just my heart keeping up with the extra blood in my body. it only happens in the evening and only a couple of times a week. each 'episode' only lasts a few seconds but it sometimes takes my breath away. ever heard of this? o yeah, and my uterus gets really hard after we have sex. kind of like a contraction only totally pain free. that happened last time too but not this early.
i think i am up-to-date on the thread. i love how chatty we are. we have lots of regulars.
i would love to see all of your little ones all dressed up for halloween. take some photos and post them in the member profiles! if they are in costume we won't be able to see there real identity, right? munch is going to be a peapod. he will have a little curly vine on his head and everything. so sweet!
happy late birthday creena! mine is coming up. being preg on your birthday is no good. i love to drink on special occasions. i think i might allow myself to enjoy a small glass of wine on my special day. don't tell my doctor, ok?

moomimin · 30/10/2006 19:35

hehe jess. peapod sounds very cute. I'll have ago with the photo thing as my two have done their halloween already. The heart flutterings I can relate to. I get them when I am pregnant, put it down to exactly that body working harder to pump etc... would be interested though on your findings as it is not something I've mentioned to the medics. To be honest I never really thought of mentioning it to them, just feels like I miss a beat and then do a few in quick succession to catch up. Glad the visit with the inlaws wasn't too bad. I get on great with my FIL but not so well with MIL, fortunately neither does dh so we don't see her that often. She does have an amazing ability to keep the kids on her side though. ds always talks about her, but he can't see her more than 4:5 times a year, yet when we visit it's as if he sees her everyday. Bizzar to me as he can be quite shy.

Errrrrrrr trying to get through the ironing!!!! I hate it, come home Mum,!! she loves ironing and one of the good things about them living with us is that she does all my ironing. hehe. They've gone to the UK though to spend time with my brother and his new baby, she's probably doing all there's for them.

MKG · 30/10/2006 20:17

Jess,

Have fun with the inlaws. I have eczema and I know what you mean with the skin. It has gone crazy lately. It was worse when ds was born and I was working. The skin was literally peeling off my skin. I also had heart issues with ds. I had a few days where it felt like someone was sitting on my heart when I was about 5 months preg. with ds. They also discovered I had a heart murmer which I never knew before. You will be fine, but I know how scary it can be.

pebblemum · 30/10/2006 20:40

I hate ironing too but now ive found that if i save it until there is something good on tv then do it while watching and i dont notice how boring it is. It also helps to have a little reward ready for when you finish, knowing there is a glass of wine (or in my case now a fruit salad-my current craving)helps to motivate me to get it done. Its a bit like bribing a child , it works for them so why not us

My ds1 informed me tonight that he doesnt want to be a scary pirate (think pirates of the carribean) tomorrow so now i have to try to find an alternative. Not too good when the shops around here seem to cater more for girls. I wonder if he would mind going as a witch . Ds2 is going to be a spider, just need to find a long sleeve black t-shirt for him to wear underneath. They have got a party to go to so im not sure if they are going out trick or treating. Last year our whole street went out together. It was a great laugh. There were about 8 children and they all looked great. I love halloween, its just a shame its always so bloody cold!! Im more excited about bonfire night next week. Im a big kid when it comes to fireworks

moomimin · 30/10/2006 21:17

He doesn't need to be a witch pebblemum. cape and witches hat and there you have a clever magical or Evil (whichever you prefer) wizzard!

have just spent over an hour trying to post a pic of ds as a vampire on the members profile. I managed to down size the picture but then it got half way through uploading the photo and then does nothing. If anyone has posted pic's and can give me any helpful hints I'd love to put a pic on there for you.

pebblemum · 30/10/2006 22:02

i did think of that Moomimin but he thinks thats too boring. He's 9 so he thinks that he has to dress up as something really gruesome, anything less is too babyish. If only he had changed his mind yesterday when we were in the big tesco superstore, they had a lot of things i could have used for him, lots of horrible ugly masks, etc. Its too far away for me to pop there tomorrow plus i dont drive which limits where i can go (i hate buses). I would get dh to take me somewhere but hes going to golf. Im sure kids do things like this just to test us

Im afraid i cant help with posting pics. Ive often thought of doing it but never actually attempted it. Maybe I will tomorrow if i can get a nice enough photo of my boys dressed up. Good luck with your photo, i will keep an eye out for it

pebblemum · 31/10/2006 10:13

Morning everyone, hope you are all well. We are all getting closer to the 2nd trimester, at last, its been a long time coming. After speaking to my midwife i found out that i should hear about my scan this week, if not ive got to call back. I wish the letter would hurry up and arrive, im getting impatient.

Im just off to cook sausage rolls for tonight, im doing it as a favour for my neighbour so it means i cant nibble any , i love freshly baked sausage rolls. I expect i'll end up going shopping and buying some more just for me and ds2 to pig out on (dh is at golf so we have peace at last). Dont tell the MN police though, i know sausage rolls are the devil food to some on here

largegingerpsychoandtonic · 31/10/2006 10:36

How are sausage rolls the devil food? Anyhow, surely thats very appropriate for today!
Pebble you always have dressing up issues i remember the pirate thing before, we should meet up my mini demons do nothing but dress up. We have 2 trunks full of the stuff they are obsessed, this morning before school they have laid all the halloween costumes out neatly ready to dive in to them when they get home!

Im feeling a bit yuk today thought it had gone, could be due to the fact ive just sprayed all my carpets with tea tree and lemon oil. When we moved in here the previous owners had a dog and even though the carpets have been washed i can still smell dog Anyone got any tips?

I fancy a mcdonalds i think, should really be baking halloween cookies and a cake to send to Dh

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2006 10:37

You've more patience than I, Pebblemum. I would have said "like it or lump it" at that stage I think! I must be a very mean mammy.

largegingerpsychoandtonic · 31/10/2006 10:38

Have you seen there is july antenatal thread already! We are old hats...

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2006 10:41

Eurgh LG&T. Our neighbour downstairs bought a dog, so added to the the cat they already have, the communal hallway now smells like a petting zoo. It's disgusting. Makes me gag, it's so bad. I bought that odour emimator stuff, Oust, but it only works for a day.

Same neighbour also smokes weed all the time which comes up the stairs and stinks out our house and she screams at the dog and her child constantly. Actually, she's really mean to the kid. Swears at him and I heard her calling him stupid the other day. Glad I'm moving away from her!

largegingerpsychoandtonic · 31/10/2006 10:46

Good god twelveyeargap and i think ive got it bad! You must be desperate to move, think you will be in your new place all settled by xmas? I hate moving but love it when your in and unpacked, im ruthless too, chucking loads out. Its very cleansing especially before you have a baby like a fresh start

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2006 10:54

Unfortunately we'll be in temp accom for Christmas, but we should be in the new house by mid Jan.

I'm really ruthless, having moved so many times, but DH is a sodding magpie. He won't even throw old shirts with holes in them. He calls them "painting shirts". He is not an artist and the last two times there was any decorating to be done, I did it. WTF he is going to do with painting shirts, I do not know. Last time he did any DIY he wore a jumper and ruined it with plumbers putty stuff... I rest my case.

He says he is going to be better this time we move.

OP posts:
largegingerpsychoandtonic · 31/10/2006 10:58

My hubby is a bit like that, we moved in July and there are still boxes to be unpacked full of his crap, he hasnt even missed it yet! He is away alot so i may start syphoning it out the house and see if he notices

Bloody hell am hungry and its too early for lunch, what can i eat?!

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2006 11:00

It's 11 o'clock so perfectly acceptable to have elevenses.

OP posts:
pebblemum · 31/10/2006 11:02

Im not sure why sausage rolls are the devil food but in the summer there were a lot of threads about them, saying how bad they were and giving the impression that if you give them to kids then your a bad mum (not sure if they were serious or not). I just used to read them for a laugh and think how sad their kids lives must be if their never allowed sausage rolls at their parties.

I feel for you about the dog smell, my nan used to have a dog and although it was bathed regularly it still smelt doggy. Everything she gave us had the smell and it was so hard to get rid of it.

Twelveyear, normally i would make ds1 stick with what hes already got but im feelig generous. I think ive been stuck indoors for too long while the kitchen was done, now i want to get out and spend spend spend

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2006 11:30

Food police. So dull. Haven't they found that the biggest increase in child malnutrition in the US is in middle class children who have all sorts of foods "banned" by their parents?

What happened to a good healthy balanced diet, lots of fruit and veg and the odd treat (like a sausage roll)?

I did read in my preg book last night that babies start to drink and breath (ie smell) amniotic fluid from week 12 and that they think they drink more of it when you've been eating sweet food and less when you've had sour and acidic food. Did make me think that I really don't want the LO to get a sweet tooth like me, so I'll probably cut down a bit.

That said, I'm only 11+3 today and I fancy chocolate and cheese and onion crisps for my elevenses. Hahaa.

OP posts:
largegingerpsychoandtonic · 31/10/2006 11:35

Im not usually a fan of sausage rolls but quite fancy one now! OOOOH the heart burn though, mine is bad already and i know it will just get worse
