With our swamp fanjos and supermarket jobbies it's all going on in our knickers. It's a wonder our men agree to deliver the prostaglandin injections but then we are the 24th Just Shagging Grads!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 24th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is herein its 41st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs herefor once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

24th April wil so still got a few weeks to panic yet.

I'm not sure if Daisy and Hypnobirthing are similar - only did the hypno but never did Daisy because there were no classes in my area. So I can't really compare them. There are different types of Hypnobirthing too (the type I did was Wise Hippo). I was given a workbook full of really good info and 5 mp3 tracks downloaded onto my phone.

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 09:32

For balance Purple the NCT class I went to when pg with DS1 was awful. Judgey and snarky, breastapo, anti pain meds, anti dummy, anti everything.

I'm really enjoying yoga bellies, because she is lovely and very mindful of us ELCS'ers and suggests how the breathing could be useful in remaining calm on the section day.

I'm donating my cord blood again this time round, would rather it went to something useful than being chucked in a kidney dish, so it must be beneficial to keep it a bit longer I suppose. I would never entertain eating it, that's just proper odd!

La I went to BF refresher and she had what I thought was a cuddly toy cupcake, but it was a boob/nipple thing. She stroked it all in front of us to demonstrate tissue massage and hand expressing, I thought this might be what your muffin will be used for? she rolled the nipple and I was nearly sick in my mouth...

I was very well behaved at the BF class, and only had to chuck my tuppence-worth in a few times when she wrote 'reduced PND' in the benefits table. I asked that she add the caveat 'If found to be sucessful' or it could also go in the negative column, and then again for 'easy' I said 'Yes, hopefully for everyone'

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 09:34

And I only told one lady about my formula milk dolce gusto machine...

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 09:42

Also, sorry, does anyone have any opinions or experience of Bugaboos? After getting my old one out the garage it completely reeks of damp/mildew so I'm ordering new on Friday...

Can I post pics of colour options and ask for your opinions please???

willywallace · 24/03/2015 09:46

Grin Kato. I'd punch someone in the face if they told me bfing was easy. I bloody hate it at the moment! Wouldn't a muffin fall apart if massaged?

willywallace · 24/03/2015 09:48

Ooh yes let us pram shop for you! No experience but my friend has had two and loves them. I could recognise it by a picture but couldn't tell you what it was called.

teejayem · 24/03/2015 09:53

Yeah, I've got SPD/PGP La. I found that the problems I have with my back have also been exacerbated by being up the duff too, so double whammy Confused. Esp irritating as one seems to aggravate the other and all the lovely core yoga and Pilates I'd usually do to keep it under control is impossible with the snappy pelvis feeling. Just make sure the physio is very clear about your hip before they decided a course of action!
Re: birth - I feel reasonably informed about it. I've gone renegade and cancelled NCT classes, more because of the cost than anything else; I've also held off with the hypnobirthing, I've got a few books and things to listen to, but I don't think I'll be doing the classes. Mr tee thinks it's because I don't like being told what to do, but from a practical perspective I don't want to waste the money on a class that I may well not end up being able to use. If I knew I'd be able to have the MLU candles and pool, id be more inclined, but it's not happening this time around! I'm not too hung up on the way I deliver; it just depends if my body will play ball! The consultant said currently he'd give me 50/50 natural vs section and this is being re- evaluated at 32and 36 weeks depending on mobility, pain, state of back. I'm no hero so if I go natural, I'll be asking for an epidural, which he recommended and I'm fully expecting to be induced if I don't have a section, again, also recommended. I'm fine with both, I just want tiny tee to turn up safe and sound (and I'm getting close to the point where I would do anything to get rid of this bloody pain, so I will be begging for it by the time I deliver!!)

Toast85 · 24/03/2015 10:00

Kati I have no experience myself but my friend was telling me yesterday how much she loves her bugaboo chameleon. She almost came a cropper last week in a nasty pot-hole incident where she ended up falling over- baby was fine although some sort of clip had broken on the pram. She phoned John Lewis (where she bought it from obvs) and they took it in to check/repair, gave her a replacement for the time-being (like a courtesy pram?) and have said the whole thing will be replaced brand new as it was under warranty still. So she is a big fan as the pram did what it should and kept baby safe. Sounded scary but dealt with really well by John Lewis and bugaboo.

Toast85 · 24/03/2015 10:01

*kato - sorry, autocorrect

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 10:06

Okay so I can't choose between a black or silver frame, and a petrol blue or cream hood...

With our swamp fanjos and supermarket jobbies it's all going on in our knickers. It's a wonder our men agree to deliver the prostaglandin injections but then we are the 24th Just Shagging Grads!

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 10:11

Wow that's good toast! John Lewis won't price match the package deal I've found at the Glasgow Pram Centre because the car seat is last years stock and voids the price match! (aye, very good!)

I'm basically getting the car seat, adapters and isofix base for a little over the price of just the pram at JL, (saving £220 on rrp) but I do really rate their customer service... wah!!

Toast85 · 24/03/2015 10:22

Sounds like a great deal!
I was looking at them online earlier- I like the black frame personally. Cream would look lovely but will get grubby more quickly...(gah..I've so turned into my mother).

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 10:25

Toast, that's exactly what I thought, then I also cursed myself!

willywallace · 24/03/2015 10:26

I prefer the silver with the blue. Silver looks less plasticky than the black.

mountaingirl01 · 24/03/2015 10:28

Prams/travel systems really confuse me and make me panic a little. How on earth does anyone ever choose? Especially when the choice of affordable ones always have terrible reviews!

Ps I like the petrol blue kato.

willywallace · 24/03/2015 10:38

That came out wrong - I don't mean the black looks bad.

Maybe take advice from people you know Mountain? Reviews can be a bit off putting.

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 10:40

With DS1 I had to choose based on the size of my tiny car boot! I only had two options! Sometimes giving yourself set rules to start with can help yo narrow it down Mountain! I'm a buggy geek and happy to help!

RPopz · 24/03/2015 10:46

Shock La that guy! Angry Angry

teejayem · 24/03/2015 10:52

We went for the cosatto giggle 2, it arrived yesterday and Iuffs it!

Fleurchamp · 24/03/2015 11:41

I am inheriting an icandy cherry (I think that's the fruit!) which is 4 years old. Will be getting a new car seat - maxi cosi pebble I think - will this year's car seat fit the old icandy chassis? The old one did.

Also I am thoroughly confused by isofix bases but we need a new car before I can get that.

Lastly, where is a good place to get a new mattress for the icandy? Does it have to be an icandy one?

KatoPotato · 24/03/2015 11:52

Tee i do luffs the giggle! What print did you choose?

Fleur, the Cherry is a beautiful pram! - WRT car seat I can't yet decide between the maxi cosi cabriofix or pebble. The pebble is £30 more but has an easier to adjust harness and memory buttons for removing from a travel system! Also te handle adjust buttons are in a better postion, so worth the extra I feel!

The pebble fits on the adapters designed for the cabrio.

I've heard this site mentioned on MN a lot!

ChatEnOeuf · 24/03/2015 12:05

Chocolate pot sounds very good, La. May have to indulge this afternoon Smile Mini Chat does not go back to sleep - apparently, 'the sky is back, it's morning!'.

Can't help with a Bugaboo, but we were also limited by boot space which certainly helped. We have the cybex aton car seat because it was the lightest. Needed adapters to fit on the wheels but they just clipped on in no time and lived in the car...must find them again...

ZylaB · 24/03/2015 12:09

kato black frame and petrol blue! :)

TheBooMonster · 24/03/2015 12:24

toast transition is the bit between stage 1 and 2 where the contractions go from being cervix stretching to being pushy. Despite my history it took a few "for the love of fucking god I need to push get your ass here and help me or knock me out with something" type pleasantries before they realised that I'd fully dilated, and even then she made me wait until she'd finished taking blood from my arm, but my body is a freak and thus my experience is quite unusual!!!
