With our swamp fanjos and supermarket jobbies it's all going on in our knickers. It's a wonder our men agree to deliver the prostaglandin injections but then we are the 24th Just Shagging Grads!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 24th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is herein its 41st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs herefor once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Kato! What's the muffin for? Just received date for that bf class and reminder to bring muffin Grin

Fleurchamp · 23/03/2015 16:49

Would be interested in daisy birthing reviews from JS post grads.... Not signed up but still thinking about it - just wonder if it's worth it? I am doing yoga which is all about the out breath (and no silly sayings except "namaste babies").

Also intrigued about the muffin. I could devour a blueberry muffin right now....

batfish · 23/03/2015 16:54

Mmm muffins. I'm in a boring accounts class until 10pm and all I can think about is the cheese toastie and piccalilli that I'm going to make the second I get in!

teejayem · 23/03/2015 17:02

Oh pis so happy for you, hurrah! And yay for intact foof! You must be made up, hope you're okay and having lovely cuddles xxx

RPopz · 23/03/2015 17:09

Fleur if you're doing yoga you might find Daisy a bit unnecessary.... the movements are a bit yoga-lite iyswim? There's mantras/ affirmations, relaxation and breathing exercises too though. And it's nice to get to know other preggos. It can be a bit cringeworthy at times if you're not that way inclined though Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 23/03/2015 17:53

Agree with popz daisy can be a bit cringeworthy, but all the ladies in my class had done it previously and said it made a difference to their labour. The breathing is meant to help you through contractions with the escalated breath then you get taught how to breathe through the pushing out bit.

The affirmations become a habit and you learn different positions to get baby in place and help baby move down cervix. I've found it really useful, but there are bits where I want to laugh!

LaLaLaaaa · 23/03/2015 18:14

There's definitely a problem with the stats sheet - here's the link to the stats sheet that you should be able to edit

LaLaLaaaa · 23/03/2015 18:17

you should be able to edit it now! I've just take boo and pis off now we have our new grad babies!

Mini and Could - you're next! :D

Purpleball · 23/03/2015 18:17

Oooh Congratulations Pis, can't wait for pics :)

I'm afraid that I wouldn't cope with Daisy, I've looked at Hypnobirthing and I'm not massively convinced about that either. I'm really not a very spiritual person and would be voted the person least likely to become a hippy, weave lentils or wear tie dye :)

mountaingirl01 · 23/03/2015 18:46

Yeahhh pis! Good work on keeping your fanjo intact :)

willywallace · 23/03/2015 18:52

So jealous of your intact fanjo Pis.

Me too Purple. Although I do quite like yoga. Would like to find a class to go to if I can ever manage to leave the bambino for a couple of hours.

LaLaLaaaa · 23/03/2015 18:52

It's not spiritual Purple, it's learning how to breathe through pain to manage it and move your body into positions that help labour (like being vertical rather than horizontal) - I'm not very spiritual either but I believe in listening to my body and that's kind of what it's about.

willywallace · 23/03/2015 18:54

Also, all this fuss about the carpark king business?? Anyone else think it's a bit weird?

Purpleball · 23/03/2015 18:56

I'm not sure spiritual is the right word but I can't think of a better one :-)

Toast85 · 23/03/2015 19:02

Pis had a baby!! Oh my goodness!! Congratulations pis Smile excellent work.

DulcetMoans · 23/03/2015 19:06

I find it hard in yoga to let go and just go with it but am going to try in the hope I use it to concentrate when the time comes. Not convinced yet though!

What car park thing wil? I'm confused!

lildottie · 23/03/2015 19:16

congratulations pis! who had today on the sweepstake, or does minipis get the money?

LaLaLaaaa · 23/03/2015 19:18

I think I know what you mean purple, I'm very no nonsense and struggled to get head round it, but I do think it is useful. The placenta eating discussion near killed me though, it's just not my bag!

Yes wil! Have kind of half read the reports and no idea what it's about

I'm struggling. There's nothing sweet in the house and I'm going to die if I don't eat something sweet

Pisghetti · 23/03/2015 20:04

MiniPis gets the money on date and weight! Smartie pants Wink

I wasn't convinced Daisy or hypnobirthing were entirely 'me' but in the event they helped enormously. I just trusted my body to tell me what I needed to do and was able to relax enough to manage the contractions - I only started to lose it once (probably during transition) and DP was able to talk me down and then the out breath just started happening without me realising! I did think at one point 'hang on I think I'm pushing...' But didn't really believe it until I felt her head!

Pisghetti · 23/03/2015 20:06

I left my placenta behind too.... Didn't really fancy any of that on toast Shock

OP posts:
RPopz · 23/03/2015 20:07

Yeah I wouldn't say spiritual. Not sure what the right word is. I think the hypno bit of the word hypnobirthing puts people off... it's nothing to do with hypnosis Wink

Think I was lucky in that my Daisy teacher was quite big on the science behind things. She always offered to send link to references on things we discussed. There is a sensible basis to a lot of the stuff they teach.

RPopz · 23/03/2015 20:10

I'm a crunchy-mama though apparently so don't go by my opinions Wink

Sounds like you did amazingly Pis Smile

I didn't even see my placenta never mind get to pilfer it for the slow cooker! Grin

Purpleball · 23/03/2015 20:38

I'm quite anti-NCT based on what my SIL went through, even my brother was scoffing at some of it. She was totally unprepared for anything other than a natural birth with no pain relief. Nobody told her anything else and she felt she'd failed Sad

I think I need to open my mind a bit to other possibilities. I'm such a no nonsense kind of person and I need to have my plan set out. I'm also a stresshead and decided a nice calm ELCS was the best thing for me. I'm not convinced otherwise but I don't have any information to go on.
Even if it just relaxes me its no bad thing. Being pregnant and my body being out of my control is a head-fuck for me in a lot of ways as I am such a control freak otherwise. I'm getting used to it and actually I'm a lot less stressed than I usually am.

I still don't think i could have a conversation about eating placentas without bursting out laughing and saying something along the lines of 'you fucking what!' Grin

gaggiagirl · 23/03/2015 21:15

Oh pis jolly jolly well done! You did fabulous! Congratulations.

deeplybaffled · 23/03/2015 21:24

Congrats, pis - lovely news! it's all happening on the freds at the moment :)
