Good morning/nearly afternoon! I feel so much better today, i've slept a lot and feel less like oscar the grouch after the weekend :). Bump was wriggling all of yesterday to the extent it made me feel quite sick (obviously prefer movement to none!!) - does increased movement mean anything :S ??!

Dani240 – sorry to hear you had the wedding gropes too! I literally don't know what is wrong with people. I have another one this weekend coming, least we're done for the year then ;) I do love a wedding usually too!! I always said when 'I grow up' I want to be a professional wedding crasher haha!

happygojo – I go from one to the other on the constipation front, changes week by week, haven't had to take anything for it though. Bet you feel amazing at the moment if it's gone, constipation is the worst! :)

Dozygirl – glad to hear your work got 'easier' – although easier isn't really the right word to use – more comfortable I mean! Hope the ankles/feet get a good rest over the next couple of days!

mzzzf – really pleased that woof sounds a bit better, getting her to eat is a great step, fingers crossed the MRI goes well today and she continues to improve xx

Lilydreams: I too hate the hormones comments – it's like when people used to say, oh PMT/you due on lol! IDIOTS!
Haven't noticed any cellulite (YET!) but I do have purple marks under my boobs which i'm assuming are stretch marks? They're not lines though, more like bruises?! Odd!
Sorry to hear about your DH, I can sympathise as i'm home a lot by myself during the day and it does make you go a little stir crazy!!

sianihedgehog: Great progess on the house!! Well done on finding a good mortgage advisor and solicitor, ours was a bit pants tbh!

Joskar: WOW! Hope you bitch slapped the woman at work!! How rude!!

Frolicacid · 15/06/2015 12:33

I'm glad work was better yesterday dozy. I'm quite busy the next few weeks trying to help the team out with extra assessments. I'm winding down my individual work, dos it's not too bad all in all. And it makes the time go quicker!
I'm very jealous of you and isa with onlyv3 weeks work left. It only seems like yesterday that we were talking about starting to think about mat leave. And now it's almost here!!

It sounds like your shower was fun happy! Enjoy sorting the clothes out.
I'm also a constipation sufferer. I've not noticed a difference recently. But I am taking iron tablets, which probably don't help. Thankfully lidl have reasonably priced post of prunes at the moment!!

I hope you're feeling ok after your epic drive dani? I'm exactly the same about feeling sick as a passenger. I think a big drive like that would kill my back at this point.

Glad you're feeling better fanby. It's so easy to feel grouchy at this stage. I don't really know about increased movements - might be worth checking up on the m&s guidance or with your midwife?

My baby seems to be lying all down my left side the past few days. He's giving me a very odd shaped bump!

Are any of you ladies who are doing hypnobirthing listening to downloads that you'd recommend? I fancy looking into it a bit more after being given the "gentle birth" book by a friend. I'd like something I can listen to on my phone, so any podcast, I-tunes or app that you recommend would be great?

Happy Monday everyone. Another day closer to meeting our babies Smile

Frolicacid · 15/06/2015 12:34

Whoops !! Ignore the typo's, I pressed post instead of preview!

Fanby · 15/06/2015 16:04

I haven't looked into hypno birthing but will be interested too if any one has any good podcast recommendations etc Smile

Has anyone else read the 'first time dad' topic on the pregnancy board? WOW!!!! Siani I can see you've commented. He sounds like such hard work (IMO)....

Lilydreams · 15/06/2015 18:03

Fanby- I was going to say I haven't prices any stretch marks yet but think I've just found one Sad it's very faint and little at the mo below my belly button so can't see properly- gonna get DH to check when he gets home! Where my piercing used to be is gross though- it had never fully healed despite me having it for 2 years so once I gave up around 22 weeks and took the bar out it healed all stretched and pink- from the top pink mark whichever was where the top hole was there are 2 stretch marks coming out of there but can't really be helped those!! Plus hopefully once everything goes back it won't be as obvious because they'll get sucked back into my belly button!

Jealous of those finishing work in 3 weeks although you sound like you deserve it- I usually work shifts but haven't whilst pregnant as can't do my normal job anyways so in an office doing office hours- shifts would kill me now so I feel for you!

Frolic- my hypnobirthing CD came with the book so can't help too much there but I'm sure googling/ you tubing will find stuff! My bump is constantly oddly shaped he defo prefers chilling on my right with his back/bum sticking out!

Fanby- I briefly read a bit of that thread but didn't finish it he does seem like a pain! Makes me so grateful to have DH he's been ace!

Fanby · 15/06/2015 18:28

Ah you lucky thing, hopefully you won't get any! I tried to show DH my under boob marks and he was a bit oblivious lol!! Luckily my boobs have always been fuller at the bottom so you can't see the marks front on, just when I hoik them up GrinWink

I only scan read it too at first...then came slightly addicted and had to properly read most of it lol! So nosey!

Off to our second NCT class tonight, starts in half an hour and DH is still not home, he better get a shifty on. It's at our local pub (upstairs) but takes me longer to waddle there these days Smile xx

Frolicacid · 15/06/2015 19:49

I just tried to read the thread fanby, but couldn't get through it all as he was getting on my nerves so much!! I don't get why he was so put out. He asked for advice, then seemed to get really annoyed when he didn't get the advice he wanted. I can't believe how he kept coming back to justify himself over and over. Some people just can't agree to disagree can they?!

I've not got any stretch marks yet. Plenty of old ones from my teenage years. My belly had been feeling tight and itchy this week, so I'd imagine they won't be far behind. And I'm sure my breasts will explode if they grow any more.

Thanks lily. I'll hit Google in my search for birth serenity!

sianihedgehog · 15/06/2015 20:04

I still think First Time Dad is totally trolling, he's calculating it perfectly to piss everyone right the fuck off while still compelling them to respond!

sianihedgehog · 15/06/2015 20:31

lily my bellybutton has turned inside out except around my piercing, and the piercing HURTS from all the scar tissue stretching! It has at least stopped looking like a prolapsed anus, I guess. :/
No stretch marks yet, but my skin feels sore some days so I'm sure they're coming!

Lilydreams · 15/06/2015 21:13

DH confirmed it looks like the start of a stretch mark Sad bless he was so lovely though told me it was tiny and he could hardly see it then said 'I'll still love you' in a cute way and gave me the biggest cuddle! So I don't feel too bad about it at the mo. I don't understand why it is where it is though- the skin isn't really stretched there whereas at the top of my bump it's soooo tight it's ridiculous! Ah well not complaining I will be able to hide them better at the bottom!

Oh siani- mine stopped hurting once it finally healed and my belly button hasn't popped it's just totally flat! Weird! I'm thinking that poster is a troll too- he's coming back too much- had another little browse through before!

happygojo · 15/06/2015 21:14

So much for a relaxing Monday....found out that me and my OH are being made redundant, they are closing our office/lab. I still get my SMP so my income is unchanged but my OH will need to find something to cover the mortgage/bills. I feel so helpless as it is totally down to him to find a new job and he won't be able to find anything along the same line as it is so specialist.... I am the one who hated my job and wanted to change careers after maternity.

To make things worse, I need to turn up to work tomorrow and do my job, which is to try and win work.... Which I won't benefit from in any way SadConfused

happygojo · 15/06/2015 21:15

I have also had stretch marks since 10 weeks..... In fact the first ones that appeared are already fading but they are pretty gross overall Sad life just isn't fair

sianihedgehog · 15/06/2015 21:18

happygojo I am so sorry to hear about your jobs, that's awful! :( I live in terror of something like that, what a nightmare.

Frolicacid · 15/06/2015 21:20

Oh happy, that's dreadful news for you. I hope you'll both get decent redundancy pay?
I'm sorry you are going through this. Easy for me to say, but do try to stay positive and look after yourself Flowers

happygojo · 15/06/2015 22:02

I get a whole 2 weeks pay, and my OH gets 3 weeks. Just statutory redundancy. Something will come up.... Just such shitty timing

pinkie87 · 16/06/2015 08:24

Morning everyone. Back at work as I was off yesterday as had a bit of a dodgy tum, seems fine now thankfully. and was good to have a bit of a rest actually!

happy I know it was on the FB page, but just wanted to say about your absolutely pants news. :(

On the topic of stretchmarks, none as yet, which is a miracle given how much weight I've piled on. But I'm much further behind most of you ladies (29+4), so I've no doubt they will appear very soon!

I've started throwing things into a hospital bag, but got disheartened when I didn't know what to put in, so I just made a list instead and will get back on it next weekend!

I've also ordered the maggie howell hypnobirthing CD and book, so will start listening to that this week hopefully. I really hope I can get into the right frame of mind for it to work for me, being a scientist I feel makes me a bit more skeptical of these things!

So jealous of you ladies who are nearly finished at work! I have 6 1/2 weeks left, and no sign of taking it easy as we are down two members of staff (in a department usually containing 8 people) so we are all really feeling it!

Fanby · 16/06/2015 09:03

Just been for my whooping cough injection, didn't hurt at all (hurrah!), hate needles so I never look. 2nd NCT class was good last night, lots on positions for labour which was entertaining as well as various types of massage.

Pinkie87: hope you're feeling better today! Don't do too much if you can help it!!

happygojo: I saw your redundancy post on FB, really am so sorry to hear your news. As I said, I too was made redundant a little while ago when pregnant and it's bloody shitty it's you and your partner :( hope going into work today isn't too tough, thinking of you xx

Siani: how can your belly button turn inside out?! I am so intrigued!! I have no belly piercing but a MAJOR outty going on! It popped weeks and weeks ago – they do go back in right?!!?!?!?!?!?! Please someone tell me they do!! lol

pinkie87 · 16/06/2015 11:12

Typo! happy Sorry about your news is what I meant to say!!

Frolicacid · 16/06/2015 18:35

That's crap happy. But you're right, something will come along. The main thing is that you and bump are doing well.

Hope you're feeling better today pinkie. I did something similar with hospital bags over the weekend. Started on baby's and got really confused! Threw 2 nighties, toiletries and a towel in my case and decided that's enough for now. DH seems to feel happier now he has something to grab in an emergency.

My arm was a bit sore for a few days after the whooping cough jab fanby. Your nurse was obviously better than mine!!

My belly button is still really deep most of the time. But sometimes he moves and it is almost flat! It really grosses me out. I really hope it doesn't full on pop!
Has anyone else noticed they're getting a hairy belly? Mine is suddenly covered in blonde fuzz!! It's like a big white peach. Lovely!!

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday. I'm feeling tired and emotional without much reason. I think an early night is needed.

mzzzf · 16/06/2015 18:55

Hey folks, hope Tuesday is treating you all well!

The pooch is on the mend and I got to see the little miss on the screen today at my 34w growth scan! Her estimated weight is 2.4kg - argh! That's over 5lbs already!! The only part that worried me slightly is that her HC is just under the 90th centile, and measuring a few weeks ahead. Also thankfully she's now turned round and is head down! Smile

The growth scan is so different to the other ones, it's super quick and because she obviously has grown you can't see the traditional baby shapes, just the body parts they measure. Anyone else got their scan booked in?

I made a half hearted attempt at my hospital too, but soon gave up. I need to sort it this weekend!!!

Dozygirl · 16/06/2015 22:02

Not sure growth scans are offered to everyone. Does it depend on how you're measuring at midwife appt? Can't believe some of us are at 34 weeks already. Crazy! I'm still 31 and 34 seems so far away for some reason but it's really not. Glad your dog is doing well though mzzf.

I'm so much more productive when I have a few days off lol. Can't wait to finish work now so I can crack on with being organised.

Those having/had babyshowers. Did u get the organisers a little gift? If so what? I just remembered today that my friend had given out gifts at her babyshower so I'd better get something.

Then remembered the guests should get a little party bag and I think I should sort that not my friends who are organising it because they've prob done enough. So now intensely googling baby shower favours lol.

I know not everyone agrees with baby showers but I've been to enough of other people's to feel that I deserve one too. I've waited a long time for this day so I'm gonna revel in it lol.

Not noticed much extra hair yet frolic but I've looked at my belly that intently over the months I prob can't see any change. Anyone getting the dark line? I haven't yet but think you're more likely if u have dark hair.

OP posts:
happygojo · 16/06/2015 22:32

Oh gosh dozy I didn't get the organisers of my baby shower anything. I thought about it but then the redundancy proposal so reluctant to spend. There were no party bags either.... It was a good afternoon though.

Left work today at 2pm. Too many people asking me 'how I am doing' which just made me cry. I was just no use to anyone. I have 11 working days left. Tempted to go off sick, but not sure I would be better off sat at home than I am sat at work Confused

Frolicacid · 16/06/2015 23:06

Gald the pooch is better mzzf Smile
I don't think we get growth scans here automatically, but my midwife did mention referring for one if I continue to measure big. I see her next week so will probably find out then.

I don't have a line dozy, but I'm quite fair so may not. But, honestly, my stomach is covered in blonde fluff! I'm generally not very hairy at all, so it's a bit weird! I'm totally obsessed with watching him move and spend most evenings with my top rolled up staring at my tummy.

I'm not having a shower and I've never been to one. Nothing against then whatsoever. Maybe have a look on Pinterest for party bag ideas? There are so many great ideas on there.

Flowers happy - don't feel bad about not going in if you can't face it. Maybe a few days off now to process everything would help you get through the last week?

I've been in a foul mood all night. Can't get comfy, can't sleep, didn't keep my dinner down. The list of complaints is endless.......

OMC1 · 17/06/2015 08:53

Morning ladies!

Sorry I've been a bit quiet again recently! Over the weekend I was noticing reduced movements; I was keeping an eye and treading that fine line between not obsessing, but making a note, but by Monday I decided to phone the hospital (tried my midwife first, as usual couldn't get hold of her!) They told me to come in as soon as I could so, as I was on annual leave from work, I went straight up. Typically, the minute I was hooked up to the machine baby started having a party!! Still, it was such a relief - the midwives were really happy with the results and told me they'd rather have 10 moms-to-be come in and everything be fine than the one that ignores it.

siani Have you looked into pregnancy belly bars? I don't have a piercing myself, but a friend of mine got one when she was pregnant.

happygojo I am so sorry to hear about your jobs, exactly NOT what you need at this time. I hope you can keep the stress low (easier said than done) and everything works out for the best Flowers

pinkie Glad you're feeling better now! I hope work isn't too busy/stressful for you; make sure you take it easy if you need to, though! You & baby come first!

Fanby I had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday; my arm still hurts!

Frolic Yes, I am a member of the hairy belly brigade!! And yes, I spend most of my time watching my belly - I have become such a weird person! Haha! Hope your mood improves - perhaps some chocolate will help!?

Dozy Do you still have a scan booked at 36 weeks? I seem to remember you posting that you'd had another scan and your placenta wasn't low lying, but forgive me and my baby brain if I've got that wrong! As for baby showers, nobody has asked me if I want one, so I presume I'm not having one - I don't have a big circle of friends, though, so I'm not too worried! I hope you enjoy yours!

mzzzf · 17/06/2015 10:09

Ladies! I could cry!!! PLEEEEEEASE tell me how you're sleeping at night?!

I'm barely getting 2hrs before waking up uncomfortable and tetchy - grrrr Angry I've got a long pillow, I wedge myself in and 'think' I'm comfy and so drift off only to be woken by the bastard bad sleep fairy a little later!!

Yet to drift off on the sofa mid afternoon appears to be no chuffing problem! ARRGH!!
