Siani- good luck with the offer, hope all goes well, seems like you've got a plan so hopefully one way or another will be sorted! We're moving most likely 12 days before DD and the solicitors stuff is driving me mad- I'm sure they don't need to write them in such stupid language plain English would be much better! Takes me a good hour just to get my head around the letter half the time!

Frolic- nursery visit was fantastic! Think we're definitely going to reserve a place there. We drive past our new house and it took about 90 seconds to get to the nursery from there! The lady was so so friendly, maximum of 6 baby's in the baby room and 2 staff, phone into every room in the nursery so you can talk directly to the staff looking after your LO- and staff- they were everywhere!!! All the kids were so happy playing and she explained they totally work to our requests/ routines, food is home made on site- I couldn't ask for anymore! The gut feeling was a definite yes and even better they can accommodate our shifts so we don't have to pay for set days each week that we won't necessarily use! Well impressed! I would recommend everyone to start looking- they weren't remotely surprised that we were looking before baby was even here and although they have availability a friend enquired at 3 in her area and 2 had a waiting list of 12-18 months!!

Been getting organised whilst we've been on leave this week and today ordered cot mattress, Moses basket matress, car seat and isofix. Also washed all covers for our £50 bargain pram and dried them whilst it was a lovely day then practiced putting it up and down! So exciting and pram is as good as new now! DH was so cute parading it round the house! Then we went shopping and bought more baby bits, really need to stop with the clothes now it's getting silly but everything is so cute!!!

Bedding wise we have been recommended those sleeping bags by a few people but I just don't like the look of them and I don't know why! Plus we have a hammock to start with so wouldn't fit in there, think cellular blankets to start with and we'll see how we go. Can always swaddle with them if needed but think the hammock should provide the same feeling so probably not needed.

Oh siani- I can relate to the bra thing! I am usually a 32C (closer to a B) and had to stop wearing my usual underwired bras around 20 ish weeks as they were sore where the wiring was, I've been making do with stretchy sports bras which I had anyway and I bought a cheap one from h&m that was kind of like a sports bra but with cups and was ok for a bit but soon it began rolling at the band and digging in! Boobs did seem to balloon probs to about a D but have since settled down and are only a bit bigger than normal now so it is mostly the back size I think causing the uncomfiness! I've still got a little space for the bands yet but I know what you mean about the sports bra bands being uncomfy now. Anyway my point is..... I didn't want to pay good money for bras that I'm only gonna wear for a few months and whilst mooching in peacocks found some amazing bras!!! These....
www.peacocks.co.uk/lds-single-non-wired-bra-113195.html?___store=default

£5 bargain and sooooo comfy!! I got 2 in a 34C- think they have black, white, mint and pink and the matching seamless knickers are so comfy I forget i have them on! Grin

sianihedgehog · 06/06/2015 20:55

Thanks lily! Weirdly, I tried that exact bra on this week, but I ended up going with this one. www.peacocks.co.uk/lds-single-padded-seamfree-cr-113189.html?___store=default
Five pounds again , bargain! I think I'm going to order some of these nursing bra clips and convert a bunch of the cheap bras I've bought in various sizes so I have bras I can wear for breastfeeding once everything starts shrinking back down as well. pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121650741834&alt=web

Fanby · 06/06/2015 21:05

Well done, and fingers crossed for the first choice Siani!!! Bump and I are crossing everything for you!!

Lily - you sound like you've had a proper proactive day!! The nursery sounds amazing, you are SO organised! Nothing like getting those exams out of the way to focus on the fun stuff ;)!

Currently mooching on bed, think I might just go brush my teeth and call it a day :) Not enjoying these middle of the night multiple toilet trips, they feel like such a long time from first time around!! xx

Lilydreams · 06/06/2015 22:59

Siani- how weird that we have both discovered peacocks bras at the same time! I may be being majorly dumb but how do those clips work with normal bras??? I can't see it!

Fanby- I have to admit I am a control/ organisation freak- think a thousand times more than Monica off friends! Haha! I'm enjoying not having uni stuff to do so much now finally getting properly excited about all this stuff! I even made a spreadsheet earlier Blush of all our shifts and what days/ half days we'd need each week for all of next year to get an idea of costs- the fact the nursery are flexible is going to save us a small fortune!!

I've not been too bad with night time toilet trips, tend to go once at about 4.30am and that's only because I always seem to be awake at that time, as oppose to waking up because I need to go! I'm convinced once this baby is here he's going to be awake at that time as without fail in awake that time every night! I'm beginning to dread going to bed it's the only part of the day I feel very uncomfortable!!

Dozygirl · 06/06/2015 23:58

mzzf I'm taking annual leave from 34 weeks and starting maternity from 36 so can't really finish any earlier unless I go off sick but I think I'm managing enough at the moment. Plus I have stuff to handover so don't feel ready to finish until I've sorted all that out.

My bump has been soooo painful today and uncomfy. But high up not in the pelvic area. It's when I try to move into a different position or sit funny then it hurts a bit like stomach muscles when you've exercised too much. Think sleep is gonna be difficult today. Definitely can tell I'm 30 weeks now and it's only going to worse.

Everyone keeps telling me how well I look though so I must be doing something right. Apart from the elephant feet haha.

Sorry not got time to answer other people's responses. Hope you've all had a good day. Yey for nursery places and for purchases. We're gonna be snuggling our babies so soon now so best to get organised now.

sianihedgehog · 07/06/2015 07:01

lily you basically cut through straps and sew on the clips. Bit of a nuisance, but I reckon it'll save me some money - nursing bras seem to all have that extra markup that maternity clothes do, so a £5 bra and £2 clips is probably going to be a better deal than having to buy yet more bras!

sianihedgehog · 07/06/2015 07:21

Lilydreams · 07/06/2015 09:19

Ooh thanks Siani- think I might get some too! Im not the worlds best seamstress but worth a try like you say I hate spending money when it's only for a little bit!

sianihedgehog · 07/06/2015 10:23

Exactly! The number of different bra sizes I've worn so far is enough that it could actually save quite a bit!

Frolicacid · 07/06/2015 13:13

Thanks siani. Hopefully the tablets will kick in soon then and I'll start to feel more energetic.
I'll be crossing everything that your offers work out tomorrow.

33 weeks mzzf! Wow!! You really are in the last lap.

The nursery sounds fab lily.

I get a similar pain dozy. The top of my bump is all hard and sore. I think it's when I've been on my feet to much. I hope you manage to get a good rest in today.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. I'm making the most of the nice weather and getting loads of washing done.
A bit gutted that our week off is over and that we have to go to work tomorrow.

Dozygirl · 07/06/2015 15:25

Same here frolic. I love the sun so that I can do lots of loads of washing and it drys quickly. Hate it in winter when have to dry it indoors.

Shattered today because was out all day yesterday with my roller derby team supporting them in a game. I want a rest day but my lovely dp calls me lazy when I say I don't have the energy for housework. He really has no idea how hard it is! Especially now im all constantly swollen and have bump pain. Anyway I've just had a snooze on the couch. I really could do with sorting the house out but I just don't have the energy. And don't have another free day till Thursday so prob won't get done till then now.

OP posts:
happygojo · 07/06/2015 19:40

Had a lovely weekend. It has been the first weekend in what feels like forever that we have had no set plans so we have mainly pottered around the house, we went to the farmers market and did loads of washing and had a roast dinner today.

dozy can't believe your DH calls you lazy! If my OH said that to me he would feel the force of my preggo rage!

mzzzf · 07/06/2015 20:20

Lazy?! WTF!!! My DH would have got a death stare and a few swear words for that. Can't your DP do the housework? He'll have to get used to doing it all when you're juggling the newborn!

Such a lovely day. My DH got back very early this morning so today has been awesome, I almost don't let the amount I have missed him be acknowledged until he's home safe. Plus he bought me back a pressie - l'occitane goodies Grin. He's a good'un really, even if he does leave me for weeks!!

My mission this week is sorting the hospital bags - eeeek!

Frolicacid · 07/06/2015 21:13

You deserve a rest dozy, especially with the high bp and stuff. Tell DH to do the housework with a big pumpkin in his t-shirt after a shitty night's sleep and see how he likes it!

Your weekend sounds lovely happy.

Yay for DH being home mzzf.

I've had a lovely day in the sun. Pottering around the house doing washing and finishing some jobs off. And a lovely afternoon sitting on the beach with friends. I'm less breathless by far, so hopefully the iron tablets are doing their thing.
We both have the beck to work blues tonight Sad. At least it's only 7 more weeks.

Dozygirl · 07/06/2015 21:56

He cooked tea on the bbq to make up for it bless him.

Awww mzzf it'll be so nice to have him home! And yey for presents.

Glad iron tablets are kicking in already frolic. Hopefully you'll have a bit more energy soon although seems we all suffer from lack of energy without having low iron to add to it so I feel for those of u with that to contend with too.

Morning bumps and mums! Happy monday to you all!

I've been awake since 5am and was going to ask if there were any updates on the offers Siani?! But it's still so early, so keeping everything crossed for you!

How's the bump this morning Dozy? I too am starting to feel pretty uncomfortable and don't think the heat helps! Don't listen to your DP, they literally have no idea! Mine has been pretty good tbh, but I tell you what has definitely helped was seeing our friends on Friday, one of them is pregnant (and looking and feeling tremendous!) but she did talk about the tiredness and exhaustion/necessary naps to make it through the day etc so it's sunk in a bit more with DH that it's not just me being 'lazy' if that makes sense?!

Good luck on the first day back Frolic, hope it's not too knackering after your week off!!

I'm heading into town today to meet a friend for lunch, looking forward to hitting up John Lewis and also there is apparently a massive Matalan that's opened on Oxford Street so it'd be rude not to have a peruse...;)
Honestly since i've been made redundant at the top of my old work street there is a ginormous Zara now too, kinda lucky I don't work up there anymore haha!
Then this evening is our first NCT class! I'm excited but nervous!! Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for a good group for us :D Thanks :) xx

OMC1 · 08/06/2015 10:39

Happy Monday everyone – another week to get through! I’ve got five weeks left at work, and boy oh boy am I counting down!

Fanby Ooh, good luck with your first NCT class – let us know how it goes and whether everybody is nice! I am sure they will be.

Dozy Sorry to hear your bump is giving you a bit of grief; how is it today? Mine feels huge now, and I am starting to struggle to do simple things like pick something up, or get myself out of a chair – with ten weeks left to get bigger I am slightly worried!

Frolic Tell DH to do the housework with a big pumpkin in his t-shirt after a shitty night's sleep and see how he likes it! Haha, this is perfect!!

mzzzf Glad to hear DH is home safe and sound Smile

Siani Thanks for the link re: adapting the bra – very handy!

pinkie87 · 08/06/2015 11:46

Morning(ish) everyone!! Another Monday, joy!

Lots to catch up on. I feel all of your pain with the bra issue, these maternity bras are comfy but literally do nothing for me, I look like a sack of potatoes honestly! May get some bra extenders and go back into normal bras for work if I can tolerate it!

siani fingers crossed for your house! Do let us know if your offer is accepted! I remember how stressful it was when we were moving last year, I can't imagine going through it all at 30+ weeks pregnant, so hats off to you!

fanby good luck with the NCT class, ours don't start til July but I'm also hopeful for a good bunch, let us know how you get on. Is it the signature course? Enjoy your shopping trip too!

mzzzf glad your DH is back! and how sweet of him to bring you pressies, that's always welcome! I haven't even thought about what I need in my hospital bag yet, so good luck with it, but you're a lot further on than me!

dozy hope you're doing ok today, and getting lots of rest.

Had a nice weekend - went out for dinner and drinks with some friends on Saturday for DH's birthday. Got home after midnight though so I was completely knackered all of Sunday! It actually felt like a hangover without the fun of actually drinking. Had my lucozade test thing today, so if the results come back high, I then have to have a full GTT. So keeping my fingers crossed for that! Not much else baby related happening at the mo, just feeling heavy, and like my bump is actually starting to get in the way a bit now it's sticking out more, and I'm only 28+3!

ruby242 · 08/06/2015 12:01

Siani-I very much hope your offer on your first choice house is accepted!! You do need some good luck so this may be it! Sounds like you have a good plan with 3 potential houses though :)

Lily-must be a big relief for you to have found a great nursery, you are nice and organised now :)

Fanby I just started my NCT course and all our people are so nice-I hoped for at least a couple of good people but they literally all are lovely so we are happy. Enjoy it, I hope yours is the same! I think basically everyone goes there to make friends so all in the same situation

Yes I agree with all about the bump getting in the way-i feel like a whale rolling over in bed haha

sianihedgehog · 08/06/2015 16:19

Heard back from the agent this morning, and he said there's been one other offer at the same price, so we've increased by 5k and are now back to biting our nails. Argh!

Having an extremely stressful day with work today plus we had our first antenatal class this afternoon. I think I need to do some sort of primal screaming session to reduce stress!!

Redsparklyshoes · 08/06/2015 16:22

Hi everyone!
So sorry I've not been here much, it's been a bit hectic. Enjoyed reading all of your updates and hearing how you all are. Sorry to those not having much fun recently. I am definitely feeling tired again having had a bit of a glow and ankles do swell so resorted to pretty flip flops for work. Was told today again how pregnancy suits me and I'm glowing and looking amazing - makes a nice change from the comments of "was it planned" or "oh an end of August baby isn't great for school" etc!
Our baby moon is this week and hoping baby enjoys the warmth of the Mediterranean sun whilst I watch DH sinking beers whilst I sip my water! Grr! Will be worth the wait I keep telling myself!
I hope you all have a nice week Flowers

Lilydreams · 08/06/2015 17:33

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Siani that your new offer gets accepted!

Red- if your missing cocktails- especially when you go away I can recommend a Virgin Cosmo! Had one at our local pub when we went for lunch the other day and have been making them at home since- they are delish! Don't get me wrong doesn't remotely taste like alcohol but is fruity and fresh- half a fresh lime squeezed in and left in, cranberry juice and ginger ale! Lush!

Went to my new hospital this morning (transferring) and had booking there, I am so so so glad I changed was a lively environment, parking right outside the maternity unit, really clean, all the staff we came across were lovely and just generally got a great vibe so feeling good about the hospital now which is a biggie for me as I am anxious in hospitals!

7 weeks left at work now- eeeek getting so real!!

Redsparklyshoes · 08/06/2015 18:06

Ah thanks Lily Smile
I shall be trying those mocktails for sure!!

Great news on the hospital for you. We don't need anything else stressing us out!

Dozygirl · 08/06/2015 21:13

Bump hasn't been as painful today thank goodness. fanby I also enjoyed some shopping today. Was knackering bit I came away with 3 maxi dresses. 2 from gap as they had a sale on and they are sort of maxi dresses, just a little shorter and 1 from Debenhams. Let's just hope the sun continues shining so I can actually wear them! Hope ur trip was successful.

Also had a good look at changing bags in john Lewis as I've been debating for ages which one to get. Think I've decided on the storksak bobby bag in black as it's a decent size. Just the price is putting me off. I'm waiting to see if my friends ask me what I want for my babyshower so if they do I'll ask them to contribute towards that because that's what we did for another girl who had a baby but they've not mentioned anything yet. If not I guess I can allow myself one little treat before I become a pauper on materity wage :)

Siani good luck with the house buying. Hopefully you'll be successful.

Lily your hospital visit sounded promising. Glad it seems u made the right decision.

Red enjoy your baby moon. I'm jealous because we never managed to fit one in and now I'm not able to fly. Might try get a weekend away in somewhere before baby comes.

Enjoy the nct classes ladies. I couldn't really justify the money on them plus I have a few friends having babies anyway this year but I have heard from others how invaluable they can be for making friends. I don't even know if I've got the time to go to the NHS antenatal classes. Difficult with working shifts and might be too late by the time I finish work.

Pinkie glad the lucozade test went ok. Fingers crossed it's a good result. I bought dome bra extenders today from Debenhams. Only a fiver. Will let u know if it helps in making bras more comfortable.

I seemed to see loads of pregnant women at the shopping centre today! Don't know if it was just because I'm pregnant so more in tune with it. I wanted to ask where each of them got their outfits from because I saw some well dressed bellies lol. Also saw some giant bellies that must be closer to due date and it terrified me thinking we're going to get bigger! This is quite big enough now thank you!

OP posts:
Frolicacid · 08/06/2015 21:34

Sounds like DH redeemed himself with the bbq dozy. I could eat a lovely bbq'd burger. Yum!
Glad your bump is hurting less today. And that you had a lovely shopping trip. I'm trying to convince myself that I should use a lovely horribly expensive all saints bag that I already have as a changing bag. But I keep looking at nice ones on line and getting tempted.

I hope your nct class goes well fanby. And that you had a nice shopping trip today. We don't have nct out here in the sticks, or many shops for that matter!!

My bump feels the same pinkie. I was back at work today and noticed a big difference in size sitting at my desk. And, as dozy noted, we're only going to get bigger ........ Gulp!

Fingers crossed that your offer will be accepted siani.

Enjoy your baby moon red.

I hope everyone else is ok, sorry for not replying individually to everyone. It's lovely that the thread is so chatty.

I feel even more energetic today - so thank heavens for iron tablets. I've also been sick much less the past few days. I'm actually managing to eat vegetables and not just cheese sandwiches, crisps and other white crap! I fear my body may go into shock!!
