Dozy- sounds like a successful shopping trip! I keep swinging from wanting to buy more maternity gear to telling myself it's not worth it for 2 months! Might have a little nosy in eBay and see if I can get any bargains! Changing bag wise- go for it treat yourself!! The way I see it is our changing bags are pretty much going to be replacing our handbags for the next couple of years so worth having a nice one! I'm treating myself to a Kath Kidston one- it's literally the only thing i will be buying full priced and expensive!! Oh and noticing lots of pregnant women is an 'attentional bias' Grin hehe I remembered something of my psychology degree after all!! It's like when you buy a new car and suddenly see loads of them- they were there all the time but you notice it more because it is relevant to you now!

Frolic- yay for the energy and more varied diet! That's good!

pinkie87 · 09/06/2015 08:20

Glad you've got a bit more energy frolic! I'm absolutely shattered today. Yesterday came home from work to find one of my rabbits not eating and seeming unwell, so spent the evening sat with him in the run trying to persuade him to eat (comfy - not!). It worked though so that's good. Then had the worst night's sleep because hayfever has well and truly kicked in, and stupid loratidine just don't cut it! Need to speak to a doctor I think. So today I am feeling exhausted and quite dizzy actually. Sorry for the moan!

In the way of changing bags, I have no idea! I sort of like the pink linings ones, and also the Kath Kidston ones, but they all seem SO expensive!! DH wants to get one we can both use, but me being me wants a nice pretty one! Grin He can have the boring one from the boots parenting club!

Fanby · 09/06/2015 09:06

Good morning!! Well NCT was perfect! No idea which course it is pinkie it's a 6 session midweek one at 2hrs a time, rather than weekends if that helps?? The teacher seems really lovely and not at all preachy/hippy like etc (some people have previously said they can be?). She really involves the dads which I think is great. We split into two groups, boys/girls and the teacher asked us to write a list of what we wanted to cover. There are 8 couples in total and they all seem really cool, a mixture of EDD, from end of July through to one being end of September. Pretty much everyone is within walking distance too so should be very easy to meet up if friendships progress! What a relief! Glad yours is also good ruby, it's a lot to pay out for if it hadn't been!

I really had such a lovely day yesterday, I honestly think one lovely day does set you up for the week being pregnant – as long as it's not over exertion so you end up suffering from it! Glad we both treated ourselves Dozy!! I bought a dress in GAP too since being preggers and so comfy, i'm hoping due to style I'll be able to wear it post baby too!
I took a bra back to John Lewis which I bought aaaageess ago and they refunded it no questions asked. I spent a while perusing the baby stuff, honestly would have loved to have bought so much but I think I should wait until DH is with me (so he can carry the bags haha). Then I met my friend for lunch which tasty and then went and had my pedicure. I go to a college so not only is it already super cheap but it's half price on a Monday, bargain! My toes look so much prettier :). Then I went to matalan to stock up on muslins and feeding cloth things, unfortunately they didn't have any of the cellular blankets. Final stop was big Boots, for maternity pads, disposable bra/nipple cover things and a cute baby miffy outfit accidentally fell in the basket too...

pinkie glad your lucazade test went well, when do you get the results? I know we were talking about it on the FB page too, it's odd that they don't just send you straight for the GTT really. Still, different areas, different procedures :)
Sorry to hear about your poorly bunny, is it the heat? How is he/she doing today? I must confess i love the look and how soft bunnies are but I'm slightly scared of them as it's the only animal that's ever bit me lol.

Esshk siani!! Still crossing everything for you. Is the 5k increase on your first choice? Is there a chain or is the property empty? I always find a good scream in the shower helps (put the radio on too!)! How was your antenatal class?

Have an amazing babymoon Redsparklyshoes!! Another option is non-alcoholic beer, i've found the ones I discover abroad are a lot nicer than what they sell over here!!

Lilydreams Really pleased for you that you changed hospitals, definitely one less thing for you to stress about. Sounds like a good place – shocked with the parking lol, ours is a nightmare!!
Same as you on the mocktail, our local do an elderflower fizz which is elderflower cordial (obv!), fresh mint and then tonic/sparkling/soda water. So refreshing and I now recreate at home too :)
I have a Cath Kidston changing bag, very kindly bought by DH as a suprise! Definitely have a look online for those too, the prices really vary! Do you know what print you fancy?

Dozy Good idea on asking your friends to chip in if they offer, i'm sure they'd like to get you something practical that you need/want too! I know what you mean about seeing fellow pregnantees all over the place! I do the same with prams as what you wanted to do with outfits lol!

Woohoo for iron tabs Frolic!!! Great to hear they've given you an energy boost!! Bring on the veg ;)

We have new carpets for our bedroom and the spare room being delivered and fitted today so we're back living in an absolute shit hole. The lounge is FULL of boxes from under both beds, wardrobes, mattresses etc are stacked in the hallway…I cannot wait for all this home 'improvement' malarky to be finished! Will be lovely to finally have carpets (and hopefully a bit warmer too) I just can't stand all the mess it creates!! Rant over ;)

Sorry for the longest post lol!! Wishing you all a terrific Tuesday!! xxx

Fanby · 09/06/2015 09:07

jeebers, that was long…sorry!! xx

Frolicacid · 10/06/2015 07:17

Thanks everyone! I'm still feeling a bit more energetic and really enjoying a bit of variety in my diet.
I'm not sure if it will last today, mind you. I've had a terrible nights sleep with leg cramps, constantly needing the loo and generally feeling like a beached whale! I guess this is the start of feeling really huge and uncomfortable.

I know what you mean about maternity clothes lily. I keep looking at stuff, but can't justify spending with only 10ish weeks left.

I hope your rabbit us better pinkie. And that you get your hay fever sorted.

Yay for a good nct group fanby! The home improvements will be worth it in the end.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Almost 1/2 way through another week! Yay!

pinkie87 · 10/06/2015 08:13

Thanks frolic and fanby, bunny is better thank you! Hayfever is not however. Doctor would only give me nasal spray! "let's see how you get on with it, you want to keep medication an absolute minimum." I have had hayfever my whole life, and now how bad I get it. Nasal spray alone is not cutting it! Hayfever is such a minor ailment, but it really affects day to day life annoyingly.

fanby hope your new carpets are nice! We are having ours done in 2 weeks, can't wait to get it done!!

frolic sorry you're feeling awful today! It really is tough getting a proper nights sleep now, which is annoying as in a few weeks we will be getting even less once we're joined by the bubs! Everyone says sleep as much as poss in pregnancy, perhaps not realising how impossible it is!

sianihedgehog · 10/06/2015 10:16

Best and final offers by noon on our first choice house, I will hopefully know by this evening!

happygojo · 10/06/2015 10:44

FX Siani! We were lucky with our house as it had been on the market a while. Hopefully things aren't too stressful!

Fanby · 10/06/2015 12:50

Glad you're still on the up with diet and sickness frolic not so much with the whale like feeling lol-when you feel back to your old self, you are going to feel amazing!! It'll be like waking up the day after a horrendous hangover when you feel like you can conquer the world GrinWink

Glad bunny is better pinkie. Sucks with the hayfever. It's times like this when you really miss over the over counter remedies etc!
New carpets are amazing, worth the mess Wink was lovely to wake up and feel thick carpet under your feet rather than floorboards!

Yoga was good today, two girls from the midwife anntenantle sessions came and we're all off to the breastfeeding class at 2pm so feeling like I'm making friends lol! We've already worked out that a pub is in the middle of where we all live lol so should be easy for baby meet ups haha xx

Fanby · 10/06/2015 12:50

And good luck Siani! Hope the clock watching isn't too tough! xx

sianihedgehog · 10/06/2015 14:15

I'm literally sitting staring at my phone and willing it to ring, LOL!
Unrelated to the house, is anyone else finding that their baby moving about is getting downright painful? I'm getting a writhing and thrashing session after lunch most days that's got me clutching my bump and gasping. :/

Fanby · 10/06/2015 18:38

Any news Siani???

And yes!! I don't want to whinge because I'd prefer to feel movement than none but last night she was thrashing around, then hiccups, then more thrashing, then hiccups etc you get the picture! I was soooo uncomfortable!

sianihedgehog · 10/06/2015 19:23

No news, argh!! We've got to hear tomorrow, or I might die!

Glad it's not just me finding it painful. I'm so very uncomfortable by the end of the day at work, trying to sit at a computer is hideous, but this headbutting my ribs and organs actually hurts! Came home today, had a shower, and made myself a nest of pillows in my bed so I can prop myself up to read without my back and much ribs hurting. Absolutely blissful after a day at my desk.

Frolicacid · 10/06/2015 20:35

I'm glad bunny is feeling better pinkieSmile. Sorry about your hay fever. I am usually a sufferer, but I've not been too bad the last few years. Living so close to the sea really helps I think.
That thing about people telling us to sleep while we can is just a joke! How can we sleep properly with a baby stuck out front?
I haven't been too bad today in the end. Iron tablets really seem to have helped the tiredness. But my calves are so sore from the cramps.

You must be on pins siani. Keeping everything crossed that you get your house.
I'm finding some movement quite startling at times. And, like you, I find sitting at a desk really hard on the ribs. I don't do it all day and am glad to get away when I do. But working in the community means I drive a lot, and that's staring to get uncomfortable now. I can't wait for the next 6 1/2 weeks to pass so I can just sit down and be comfortable.

fanby, you're right! I'm totally convinced that the first few weeks with baby will feel much easier because I will feel so much better than I have done all pregnancy!!

I'm scared to jinx it, but have to say I'm still on a good run as far as the sickness is concerned. I've not vomitted since Sunday night - probably the longest respite since mid December! And I've got my appetite for healthy, proper food back. I had a huge bowl of salad and halloumi for dinner tonight. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it! And I've been eating so much fruit - partly due to my appetite improvement, but mostly due to the terrifying things the iron tablets are doing to my poo!

I hope everyone has had a good day. I'm off for a waddle to the beach with frolicdog.

Dozygirl · 11/06/2015 07:13

Oh frolic I now feel for u working in the community and having to get in and out of the car! I now hate getting into my car because its so awkward and hurts my bump when I try so I'd hate to have to do it loads of times.

I bought bra extenders so I could some more life out of the bras but they are so so uncomfortable at the moment. They are wired so I think I'm gonna have to buy some comfy non wired from somewhere but cheap ones. No idea where to find cheap ones to fit 36ff though. And what if I'm not that size any more anyway? Bra shopping is the worst!

Day off today though and it's sunny so I can test out one of my new maxi dresses. fanby I wonder if we bought the same ones from.gap because they had loads in the sale heehee. I wouldn't have paid full price for them but they'll be perfect for after birth too and hiding the saggy tummy. I'm such a cheapskate lol.

Midwife this morning to see how my bp is doing. Fingers crossed it's come down

Dozygirl · 11/06/2015 07:33

Ps I've even taken to coming straight home, whipping my bra off and putting my giant giving birth nightie on for sheer comfort haha. I never ever let my boobs hang loose! I must look so so attractive to my dp hahaha

Equimum · 11/06/2015 07:54

Froluc it's great to her that have been less sick this week. I have everything crossed that this is now behind you and that the final weeks are going to be a bit easier - in terms if that, anyway.

It also really great to hear that so many of you are enjoying antenatal classes and making friends already. I really found my NCT friends a Godsend in the first few week last time. I feel a bit sad that we aren't doing anything this time round, but the timings of NCT refresher classes really didn't work for us :(.

Siani, good luck today.

pinkie, glad your rabbit is better.

I'm hoping to have the same positive reaction to iron tablets. My levels were low at the first by and the midwife said to eat more iron-rich foods, which I did. They were then much lower at the 28 week test, and she still said to eat more of these foods. I then got a letter from the hospital to say that I needed to get a prescription and book a repeat by. When I asked her about this, she still said it was up to me, but I could just try diet! This is despite me having been pale, tired and nauseous for weeks!!!

I've been a bit spoilt this week. A friend had my toddler for a couple of hours on Tuesday, then my brother visited yesterday and did a great job of playing with in, while I sat on the sofa. It been lovely to just have five minutes rest.

Frolicacid · 11/06/2015 08:01

Judges quick reply to dozy before dragging myself off to work.
Have a look on e-bay for m&s maternity / nursing bra's. There are a few places that sell new ones in packs of 2 for about £10. They are super comfy and have been a godsend. I've got a few different sizes for when my boobs go up and down.

Have sa good day everyone Smile

pinkie87 · 11/06/2015 08:19

dozy and frolic I'm looking for bras again potentially. Will get some extenders first. The M&S ones from ebay are super comfy but I get a serious case of monoboob! Having worn underwired bras my whole life, the lack of support just does nothing for me!

frolic fingers crossed the sickness stays away! And leg cramps, ARGH! So irritating in bed! Even walking up the stairs I get them now. It's so disturbing in the night.

siani Oh my gosh the wait must be killing you, I remember that feeling, it's rubbish! Hopefully you hear this morning. Have everything crossed for you.

Had a curry for dinner last night, and baby went a bit mental for an hour afterwards! It wasn't even that spicy! Apart from the wriggling and kicks, I've been getting a really odd type of movement feeling lately, feels so close to the surface, almost like my skin is crawling. Really can't explain it, but it's odd.

happygojo · 11/06/2015 09:35

Hi Everyone! Feeling your bra pain! I have ordered some more bra extenders so that hopefully I can wear my underwired bra at the weekend for my baby shower, not sure how I will cope though, I may have my soft cup bra in my handbag just in case!

Bit nervous about my baby shower as I know NOTHING about it, apart from the fact it is happening. My friend asked whether we could do a 'guess the size of the bump' game where people use string to guess my waist measurement! I said I would rather you didn't because I am a little (a lot) self conscious about my low and flabby bump Blush AIBU?

I just don't like anything that has people judging my size... I don't want to be a party pooper though. The guys who work with my OH are doing a 'guess the baby weight' sweepstake and everyone has guessed over 8lbs, which made me upset because my sensitive pregnant self thinks they think I am fat or over eating (I am fat and overeating.... but that is beside the point). I decided I wasn't going to go into the fact that my cervix is approximately 1 cm shorter than the average ladies and that I am in fact statistically most likely to have this baby between 36 and 39 weeks than go overdue (I bet I will be sat here at 40+10 now I have said that!)

Lilydreams · 11/06/2015 09:45

Pinkie- glad you bunny seems better! Curry seems to do that to mine too- he has a right party afterwards!

Fanby- I shall have to try that mocktail too sounds delish! The nice weather is the only time I've remotely missed alcohol so mocktail share a good swap! our pram has polka dots on it and I've seen a few different Kath kids tons with polka dots so think I'm gonna get one of them so it matches- plus that way it's not girly and DH can get away with using it too!

Siani- still got my fingers crossed for you!

Sleep is beginning to really annoy me, can't quite believe I've got another 9 weeks of waking up a thousand times a night uncomfy! It's not even for a wee usually! I generally aren't too tired in the day which is weird because I must be averaging 5 hours or less- maybe practicing for the sleepless nights to come! Ha!

Saw a lovely mw yesterday at my 31 week check- she was covering so not seen her before. She really took the time rather than rushing through everything like they usually do, had a nice friendly chat and even asked me how tall I was, when I replied 5ft 3 she said 'now your going to look like bump is considerably bigger than taller people but it's nothing to worry about at all' I could have hugged her after all the comments and looks I've had when people hear how long I've still got left, was really nice to be reassured! Bump was measuring 'perfectly' although she forgot to plot it on my chart Hmm and she used the Doppler which is first time I've heard it since 20 week scan and was lovely! Annoyingly DH only got home from work a few minutes after I'd left for appointment but the clinic ended up running late so I could have waited for him and so he missed that! Never mind always next time! She told me baby is head down too and when I asked she said although they can move to breech still it is unusual once they are head down at this stage as their head is heaviest thing and gravity encourages them to stay that way round! Told me which bits are which so it's nice now when he's moving that I can tell what's poking out! Grin

My first day off on my own today since finishing uni- have had a lie in, going to get some breakfast, potter around in the sunshibe, then having my hair done later and hopefully I'll make it back in time for yoga! And I was worried I'd be bored!!

Fanby · 11/06/2015 13:27

Happy hot Thursday to you all! I am baking today! Had another driving lesson today – hill starts :|!! Wasn't too bad...she says...
I'm supposed to be packing for my SIL's wedding for tomorrow but I cannot be bothered, it's far too hot!

Frolic – halloumi is literally one of my favouritest things! I'm so glad it's not on the veto-ed list of 'banned' pregnancy foods!

Dozy – bet we do have the same dress lol!! I bloody love a sale, I very rarely buy anything clothes wise full price! As for whipping off the bra, i'm with you sister! Even pre pregnancy! Boys will never know how good that feeling is lol!! How was the midwife? BP ok?

Equimum - I wouldn't say you've been spoilt! You have very lovely friends and brother! Keep up the good sofa work ;)

happygojo – I don't think you're being unreasonable at all. I think the fact that your friend asked first knew it may be a 'no' so please don't feel pressured into something that you don't want to do! Your baby shower should be enjoyable, not something to stress you out! I regards to the guess the baby weight, boys are pretty clueless and probably have no idea on the average baby weight (nor do I really!!). Please try not to take any of it to heart (darn hormones don't help), as long as you and bump are happy and healthy it really doesn't matter!!

Lilydreams - Enjoy your day off!! Oh good call on the matching of pram to bag, to be honest I hadn't even thought of that! :D We still seriously need to get are arses into gear and get the pram/car seat situ sorted lol!
I'm not sleeping that well either, mine is usually wee related lol, but I think as you say, it'll all 'help' towards the sleepness nights that surely lie ahead!!
So pleased that you had a lovely midwife appointment, I really love hearing the little (incredibly fast paced) heartbeat lol. I hope next week they're able to tell me about head down/limbs etc!

sianihedgehog · 11/06/2015 18:05

Well, we didn't get the first choice house, but I phoned up the second choice as soon as I heard and they've accepted our offer!! Now to start being anxious about mortgages. :P

sianihedgehog · 11/06/2015 18:09

In other news, I had a midwife appointment today which was all fine - measuring exactly in the middle of the recommended amount and the growth curve looks perfect. baby is currently breach, but there's plenty of time to move, and the midwife confirmed that the big hard lump I feel is baby's head, which was pretty cool!

Anyone feeling a bit wrong with the heat today? I felt really quite ill in the office in the middle of the day, might have to bring myself in a fan or something. I usually love the heat, so I reckon it's got to be another miracle of pregnancy!

Lilydreams · 11/06/2015 18:17

Fanby and Frolic- I'm with you in the halloumi!! And now I can eat cheese again you have reminded me about it- may have to get some to morrow and cook an eat it all! Haha!

Fanby- our car seat came yesterday it's so exciting! Can't believe something so tiny is going to be all snug in it!

Siani- yay!!!!! Congrats on the house! Shame your first choice went but yippee for the 2nd! Mortgages are good at the min we got a good rate despite being 90% on a new build and fixing for 2 years! I'm a bit miffed I've not really made the most of the sun to be honest- can't wait to have a garden at the new house! I am feeling the heat a lot more but I love it- although I have been mooching around in summer clothes and flip flops and been blasting the air con in the car so might be v. Diff back in work tomorrow!!

I've had a nice chilled day- finished reading hypnobirthing book and had hair done- in there for sodding ages as they left me chilling at the back wash with a treatment on forever- don't get me wrong I enjoyed the 'me' time but meant I was too late getting back to go to yoga tonight Sad
