I didn't get my bump measured at my appointment this time. I was expecting her to but she just listened to heartbeat. Maybe she will at my next one.

Didn't know u could hear them if u listened though. That's cool. Might get dp to try that. He's not even really into feeling for the kicks particularly So he might not want to.

I'm tired today and struggling to get out of bed for work :(

mzzzf · 30/04/2015 07:20

Yes it's true! My DH can hear a faint heartbeat when he plants his head in my bump too! Try it ladies!!

Chin up Dozy, and stock up on chocolate! Have you tried wearing compression socks at work? The sports kind, rather than TEDs.

Frolicacid · 30/04/2015 08:44

Mee too dozy! I just want to stay asleep. Contemplating not going in. I've been sick loads and am just exhausted.

I've not got DH to listen to bump yet. Might give it a try later. Our dog is OBSESSED with sleeping on it. She is getting a bit possessive over the bump and keeps putting her paw accross when DH tries to have a feel. I found her curled around me at 3am this morning. God knows what she's thinking, but i'm sure she knows something is going on!

ruby242 · 30/04/2015 09:10

I wouldn't worry too much about the messy houses, mine is going the same way but figure pregnancy is hard work and we need to rest after work! I get the minimum done and just lower standards slightly lol.

Ooh I didn't know you could hear the baby, I will get DH to try-every time he tries to feel the baby kicking the kicking stops!

Frolic that's so sweet about your dog, my dogs and cat seem to have no clue so you must have a smart one!

Frolicacid · 30/04/2015 10:43

I'm still in bed! I tried to get up but I was sick, so I figured a day off would do me good.

I'm not sure of she's smart or spoilt ruby! She's very much my baby, I hope she won't mind sharing too much!

happygojo · 30/04/2015 11:19

Oh gosh I wish I was at home in bed Sad I am so tired and miserable at work.... but nothing is ACTUALLY wrong so I shall be here until 4pm. Plus my guilty conscious wouldn't allow me to go home sick and then go to yoga tonight which I am sure will be benefitial.

I seem to be having a slow nose bleed, like it isn't a lot but my nose is stuffy and when I blow it into a tissue blood comes out. Also having reflux issues. I know it isn't as bad as those being sick, or with SPD, PGP.... but I am a grumpy bumpy today

Fanby · 30/04/2015 13:03

Oh happy sorry to hear you're feeling low – and you do have an excuse to moan – you're still pregnant regardless of SPD etc! It's still a chore lugging a bump around! Trying to tidy when you're redecorating is an absolute nightmare and you have my full sympathy. Since i've been pregnant we've had our whole bathroom redone and the carnage and dust was horrific (as was having to pee in a bucket in the bedroom constantly when the builders were here), we've also painted her room to be and the kitchen and the mess that has occurred from that is absolutely doing my nut in. For the past 10 days the lounge is a bombsite as it's got boxes of stuff that DH needs to go through before being stored under the bed or somewhere. DH is now saying he wants to sort carpets and a load of other stuff and quite frankly although it'd be lovely I can't cope with more upheaval. My advice is cup of tea and lots of cake (or triple chocolate cookies, i've just had 3 and feel a bit sick but worth it).

Hurrah! Glad you've had the pox Frolic! It's supposed to be absolutely horrid as an adult too! Good for you for taking the day off!! I hope you haven't been puking all morning. Random note, what kind of dog do you have?? I'd love a pet!!

Dozy How's the blood pressure? Mine has always been a little on the high side but the doctors/midwife never seem to mind, I think I suffer from white coat syndrome. I think more breaks would definitely help it, and for the legs too!

Lily I'm totally going to make DH have a listen!! Congrats on your bump measurement! Is it weird for me to say I hope mine sticks out at a weird angle, I want to see a bum or a head lol!! I have my midwife appointment next week. Hopefully this time I won't cry at her :)

Happy I had exactly the same nose non bleed yesterday!! That is so weird! And it was just before yoga and I was conscious for the whole class the blood was going to come pouring down my face as I did downward dog. I hope you're doing ok, and if you're only still at work – 3 more hours until hometime. I hope they go speedily for you.

Ah yes cots, we're planning on getting a crib/moses basket thingy for our room for the first 6 months. Haven't looked into these AT ALL! Jumped straight to the cots lol! Great logic...but I think I just want the nursery to look pretty :| !!
On the non baby front, I just had my first driving lesson...esshk! Totally should have started these a while ago, no way i'm going to pass before August!! Still better late than never I suppose?!

xx

Dozygirl · 30/04/2015 13:10

Went to get my BP checked on delivery suite seeing as I work just across the way and it was still high so I rang the day case unit where I'm booked at and just told me to go to the one at the hospital I was working in. They left me to rest a little bit and that worked because BP came back down to normal thank goodness. Must have been the stress that sent it up. Just need to learn to relax now! I don't feel very relaxed after all that though!

augustbump2015 · 30/04/2015 13:13

Hello! I am new to posting on Mumsnet - been reading it for years but will have to check I am using the right lingo / abbreviations!

Expecting my first baby in early August, over the moon and loving that I can now feel him wriggling. Although Ruby242, it is the same with my DH - each time he puts his hand on my stomach the baby stops moving! I would be very surprised if we had produced a shy child.... but it seems increasingly likely!

That's my first post! Very exciting!!

ChanceBeAFineThing · 30/04/2015 13:52

Hi augustbump! Welcome. I'm having massive pregnancy hormonal rage, and don't have any real issues like some of you guys. Just seem to have woken up in a grump all this week.

This baby is so wriggley you can see my whole belly is moving, it actually grosses me out a little and is really annoying. If you want to find out which way round the baby is you need to feel for 2 hard lumps, the bigger harder of the the 2 is the head, the other is the bum. Totally depends on which way the baby is lying as to whether I can feel where it is though. Roll on the weekend...

Dozygirl · 30/04/2015 13:55

Welcome august. Good that u have lots of movements. Mine comes and goes at the moment.

Frolic u totally deserve a sick day. Enjoy it if u can apart from the vomiting part. I can only imagine it must be so draining to always be sick.

OP posts:
happygojo · 30/04/2015 15:04

Chance I have Rage too! if I am not raging, I am hangry, or I am asleep. I don't REALLY actually have anything to complain about. I find the belly thing fascinating though. watching it move. So weird

Fanby · 30/04/2015 16:19

Glad the BP is back to normal Dozy and welcome to augustbump!

I can't feel any hard lumps on the bump, just had a prod so hopefully she'll move into another position, feel a bit bad making her move for my benefit :) !! xx

Frolicacid · 30/04/2015 18:06

Balls!! Just lost a massive post. I hate it when that happens.

I hope you're all feeling better by tonight Flowers

I'm feeling refreshed after a day of lazing.

I'm also having blood when I blow my nose, which is every 5 minutes. I have done since about 3 days before my bfp. Lovely.

pinkie87 · 01/05/2015 08:14

Welcome to the thread augustbump! My baby does the same when DH puts his hand there, and then he eventually gets bored of waiting to feel it again, so annoying!

Fanby are you me?! I'm getting my bathroom redone next week (not much looking forward to that but can't wait to have a bath instead of just a shower!). Also painted kitchen and baby's room since being preggo!

happy sorry you're having a bad day! It's sometimes so tough being pregnant and I think people sometimes expect you to be happy all the time because of the situation, but it's so tough on the body.

Don't get me started on housework. I am struggling too. I used to be so good and blitz the house every saturday morning but now I just can't. After half an hour of housework I know my hip will be in pain for the rest of the day so it just puts me off. DH is being quite good but he's just not as thorough as me so it ends up irritating me!

frolic hope you're feeling a little better after your sick day. I have to say as much as I hate PGP, I'm feeling lucky I don't have sickness too, it must be so awful. :(

lily totally gonna make DH have a listen tonight!

Happy friday everyone! Another week closer to mat leave....!

Lilydreams · 01/05/2015 09:30

Dozy- my appointment was opposite of yours then- I was expecting heartbeat listened to but didn't and she just measured! Appears to vary!

Mzzzf- yeh DH said he could hear all the moving in fluid too like being underwater- sounds well cute I wish I could get my head on my bump! Lol! Ruby- try it!

Dozy, Frolic and Happy sorry you've had bad days lately- nearly the weekend think positive!

Frolic- my dogs also appear to know something is going on- don't think they quite get it but know something is different- they are allowed in the couch but we let them rest their heads in our laps when they are stood on their back legs and got the cutest picture of them both snuggling up against bump the other day! One of them also got kicked by bump and had the funniest reaction- sniffed at me for about 10 minutes! I'll try to upload the pic!

Welcome Augustbump!!

Oooh got my part time/ job share approved for after mat leave yesterday- very happy! I know it's early but I'm a control freak and it will be so nice to be able to fully relax whilst I'm off and not have to try and arrange it by phone!

August 2015 part 3
happygojo · 01/05/2015 10:40

I am feeling better today. I slept through the night! I didn't even get up for a wee! not that I remember anyway. I feel a bit bad though because I kicked my OH into the spare room.... and I slept better. Everything is always better after a good nights sleep. AND it is Friday AND next week is a short week.

I am not going to do the application to work part time after mat leave for a while. I am not sure how well it is going to go down with my work

Frolicacid · 01/05/2015 11:09

Thanks pinkie.

I'm feeling a bit less rough today. We're going away for the weekend, so I'm at work or I'd feel too guilty! I'm not too busy, so hopefully will manage an early finish.

Good news about the job lily. I will try to attach a pic of my dog with the bump.

Welcom august.

Yay for a good night's sleep happy. It makes all the difference.

Happy Friday everyone - well done us on another week done Grin

Frolicacid · 01/05/2015 12:03

Try again!

xBlueberry88x · 01/05/2015 15:26

Hey ladies,

My house is a mess to I just cant bring myself to tidy after work, ive been trying to do a little bit a day to keep on top of it but im not doing to well and it is depressing!

Work is really dragging me down at the moment, im so tired and crampy the last few days I just want to sleep all the time!

Loving the doggy photos my dog likes to put the top of his head on my bump but hes just a weirdo, I keep hoping baby will kick him lol

Ive messaged to join facebook group if someone can let her know its gone into others box!

Dozygirl · 01/05/2015 18:19

I'm a cat lady because I knew I didn't have time for a dog. My cat loves snuggling up to my bump but I think he liked doing that anyway.

At work today but it's not been too bus thankfully. Don't think i could have managed to hectic shift. I had a moment where i could feel my heartbeat suddenly start racing. It was well over 100 beats per minute. No idea what that was all about! I just sat down for a few mins and then it calmed down. All i was doing was stood chatting. I hadn't even moved.

Otherwise all is good with m. Enjoy your long weekends ladies. I'm working Monday but the money will be good so it'll be worth it.

Fanby · 01/05/2015 18:31

Loving the dog pics ladies, even if they do make me insanely jealous!!

I hate those heart palpatation thingys Dozy, glad it all calmed down quickly.

Hahaha Pinkie I don't envy you with the dust and mess from the bathroom BUT having a bath will be soooo worth it!!

I've just made a massive 'to do' list for all the tidying and sorting that needs doing over Bank Hol, think DH is going to go mad when he sees it as it's mainly his stuff, if not it's going in bin bags...

Have a lovely weekend away Frolic and everyone else here's to a lovely (probably rainy) bank hol! x

OMC1 · 01/05/2015 18:44

We made it to Friday!!! Grin

I've been quite quiet this week as I've had a rough time at work which has really got me down, my manager came and told me the other secretaries feel I'm not helping them enough, which I am furious about as I am always insanely busy! Angry. Spoke to the solicitor I work for and have drafted a response to their comments so fighting my corner!

On top of it all, my hay fever has been horrendous this week! Got a docs appointment in Thursday so hopefully they can give me something to ease it off, its so hard to sleep with it!

My little Wriggler has been quiet this week, had a few worries but I am still feeling movements, just faintly, so I'm presuming they're facing the other way! DH hasn't felt a kick yet, but definitely seen them, and I am going to get him to try and listen later!

Hope everyone is doing okay, and is looking forward to the bank holiday weekend!

dillydollydarling · 01/05/2015 20:21

I wish my cats would rest their head on my bump or something cute like that!!

I'm insanely jealous of everyone who gets to enjoy the bank holiday weekend off work. Unfortunately I have to work all 3 days and don't even get extra pay for any of it :(

On a happier note, I text OH yesterday and asked him if it was to early to start washing clothes. He replied sarcastically that he though I most definitely needed to wash, fold and iron all of the clothes immediately. I told him that I knew he was being sarcastic but that I was going to take his advice anyway and start washing :)

I just can't wait for baby to arrive to be able to dress them in all the stuff we have!!

Frolicacid · 02/05/2015 06:44

Just popping in quickly to say have a good weekend everyone!

We're meant to be leaving in 20 mins and I'm still not packed. I could do with some oomph if anyone knows where to find it. I'm not looking forward to a 4/5 hour car journey. Can you imagine how many wee / puke stops I'll need!
