I can admit on here then that my recent craving is McDonald's Chocolate milkshakes!! Shock
We are going to leave the scan as a surprise so hoping they don't drop hints by accident!
Tonight my bump has suddenly protruded! Whether just in my head or not or perhaps bump is wanting to reassure me it's an ok size these hormones don't half play on your mind!
Crazy lady here!! Smile

OMC1 · 21/04/2015 08:40

Lily I am sorry to hear you were so upset Flowers I can completely sympathise with you, as I am sure most of the girls on here will too. It's really tough when people make comments, even if they mean them nicely! I hope you start to feel a bit better and a bit more positive soon. Smile

Redsparklyshoes Good luck with the scan! I'm Team Yellow too - hope you manage to keep it a surprise!

Redsparklyshoes · 21/04/2015 12:46

Thanks OMC!
The scan went well! In what is becoming a pattern I have a little rascal! It was amazing to see everything such as heart, kidneys, eyes, nose, mouth, feet, legs, ribs, spine, arms!
Just when she needed to measure the lower spine it say down all curled up! A long walk and a jump about and no luck so back I go on Friday!
Team Yellow here!
OH adamant he saw something and thinks a boy and I think a girl!
Roll on Friday!

ruby242 · 21/04/2015 13:40

Had a rough day yesterday, woke up bleeding so very worried. However got checked over and luckily baby is absolutely fine and all stopped now so must have just been one of those random things! Really made me realise how much I love this baby though :) Thought I'd post about it so others know not to worry if it happens :)

Glad your scan went well redsparklyshoes and at least you get to see the baby again on Friday!

I've also had some nausea recently like some of you have had-I'm hoping its just a passing phase though and I assume it wont go back to first trimester hell!!

Jiggleswiggles · 21/04/2015 15:54

Ruby- The same thing happened to me at 16 weeks. It was a horrible experience having to go be checked out at the hospital. I was told it was an inflamed cervix. Very odd. Like you it really made me realise how precious our little babies are and how much they are loved xxx Treat yourself and relax- you deserve it after such an ordeal Smile

ruby242 · 21/04/2015 17:01

Thanks jiggleswiggles, is a horrible feeling isn't it! I felt uneasy the rest of the day but fine today :) Bought some new items for the baby yesterday to cheer myself up after the all clear!

rascalrae · 21/04/2015 17:09

Sorry to hear you've had bleeding ruby and jiggles must have been very distressing, but very pleased to hear baby is ok.

Quite jealous of your scan red. I didn't really get to see much of mine as she was a trainee sonographer & didn't move the screen so I could comfortably look at it. Wish I could have another go!

I've got to go to London tomorrow for work. Dreading getting on the tube & being too hot. Think I'll try to get a 'baby on board' badge. I definitely look more pregnant than fat now but I still think some people would be scared to presume & offend by offering their seat.

Is anyone else finding that people look at your stomach before they look at your face? I find it quite weird & wonder whether that's what I used to do.

OMC1 · 21/04/2015 17:36

Ruby I am relieved to hear all is okay, that must have been quite a scare for you, I hope the rest of your pregnancy is worry free.

Rascal Yes! I keep noticing people looking at my belly first, it's so random and makes me feel a bit paranoid! Most of them then smile at me straight after though, I think for the most part people just love bumps and babies!

Dozygirl · 21/04/2015 22:02

Oh ruby scary but so glad all was ok. I know I'd be terrified if I saw any blood!

Went out for tea and I'd struggled with what to wear. A gorgeous pregnant lady stroll into the restaurant wearing a maxi dress with a perfect little bump. I was so very jealous! ! I tried on some maxi dresses and just looked like a whale because of my my wide hips and big bum as well the hips. Made me feel even worse about myself. Ah well, nothing I can do about it now. Once baby comes I'll be going on a much stricter diet.

Red glad scan went well. Enjoy getting to see her/him again.

And yes to the people looking at your tummy lol. I prob do the same thing without realising lol.

Frolicacid · 21/04/2015 22:16

Glad the scan was good redsparkly. Enjoy seeing him / her on Friday. Well done you for holding out on finding out the sex. You have way more patience than me!

I'm glad you're ok ruby. That sounds very scary. Take it easy Flowers

Yes, rascal, people are totally talking to my belly before my face.

Groundhog Day here again, consisting of mega weird pregnancy dream , a few vomits and plenty of people telling me how huge I am. I also have heartburn and constipation to contend with. I'm now 100% convinced that the second trimester glow is a big fat lie made up by evil bastards.

Frolicacid · 21/04/2015 22:20

I'm sure you look lovely dozy. But if it makes you feel any better, I'm short, round and my huge squishy bump and wobbly massive tits look like a great big blancmange.

Joskar · 21/04/2015 22:28

Sorry haven't posted in a while. Been reading but not managed to post. Dc1 is being somewhat "challenging " at the moment. Threw an epic tantrum in Tesco yesterday. Online shopping here I come!

Spd is getting really bad now. Weekly physio will hopefully keep me at work for the next ten weeks and then I don't mind nearly so much. Although dealing with toddler tantrums at home might send me utterly demented! Perhaps I could move out and live in a hotel for the third trimester. No housework, no cooking, no "up, up, up!" - blissful!

Sympathy with all the weight worriers. I put on stacks last time and felt utterly shite about it. (Don't believe anyone who tells you breastfeeding will make you lose it. I'm still feeding and it never worked as a weight loss plan for me!) A decent interval after the bairn is born you just do weight watchers or slimming world or 5:2 and all will be well again. I lost over two stone last year and I know I can do it again. The best I can say is don't beat yourself up about it. It's only weight not the end of the world. You just don't know how your body will change in the next few months. You might be one of those jammy gits who is back in the pre pregnancy jeans within the week. For now enjoy the doughnuts!

pinkie87 · 22/04/2015 08:15

Haha joskar I am definitely enjoying the doughnuts! I reckon I'll head back to slimming world after baby's born. I lost 1 1/2 stone on it last year so I know it works for me. I really feel for you suffering with SPD. I have PGP which I don't think is quite as bad and it's already depressing me! It's things you take for granted like bending/standing on one leg to put trousers on that make you really notice it. Have you started physio yet? Mine starts monday.

Ruby glad all is well with you, how scary must that have been. Flowers

Glad you had a lovely scan red. Although I think I feel a bit sad now my 20 week scan is done that I won't get to see him again until he's born!

Lily sorry that you're feeling so down. I can sympathise. I feel the size of a house and have no idea what to wear without splashing out on even more maternity clothes (which I don't really want to do!).

Frolic sorry you're still vomming! :( talking of weird pregnancy dreams, I have no idea what happened but woke myself at 2:22am by throwing my Theraline pregnancy pillow out of the bed and knocking my phone onto the (hard) floor in the process. No idea what I was dreaming... I'm not sleeping so well lately which is irritating as hell as I usually love my sleep! I'm also still waiting for the glow.... Hmm

pinkie87 · 22/04/2015 08:16

Oh and is anyone a hayfever sufferer? Mine's just starting to make an appearance and I'd love to know what I can take. Usually I'm on fexofenadine (prescription only) as it gets really bad but don't think I'm allowed that anymore. :(

mzzzf · 22/04/2015 08:57

Morning ladies! How are tricks?
Can't believe we're halfway through the week already, which means halfway through another pregnancy week too!! Grin

Like frolic I was starting to feel a bit better but dizziness has hit me again - bleurgh! I want to just sit on the sofa and eat biscuits. If it wasn't for the dogs I would as well.

Deffo going to take it easier today, was out until 1am with DH at a&e as he thought he broke his hand (all find, just soft tissue injury) and then our car tyre deflated so we had to get rescued - such fun on a week night! I'm glad he's ok but annoyingly he's still planning on going to play football tonight and has forgotten I'm meant to be out at my aquanatal class. DH's are awesome but sometimes they are knobs!!!

Dozygirl · 22/04/2015 09:16

Oh no frolic. Unfortunately some people never seem to get the pregnancy glow.

I found a maxi dress I'd forgotten about and it still looks ok on so wearing that in the sunshine today so feeling a little better. Plus I'd kept an old 32g strapless bra from when I was chubby that now fits me again so it was win win today!

sianihedgehog · 22/04/2015 10:53

pinkie I've been told that loratadine is my best option. There's nothing that's tested in pregnant women, so there's nothing actively approved for use during pregnancy, but there are no bad effects recorded for loratadine. I'm mostly just trying to suffer through.

OMC1 · 22/04/2015 11:38

Morning ladies - how is everybody enjoying this sunshine? I am finding I am getting very warm, very quickly! I think I might ask work for a desk fan soon!

Feeling a bit low this morning, as was reviewing the finances and my expected maternity and don't think I'll be able to afford nine months off, six might even be a push so I might be back at work after three months! Really hoping it doesn't come to that, but preparing myself for it Sad

Pinkie & Siani I am a hayfever sufferer too, was thinking of making a doctors appointment and seeing if I can get something on (free!) prescription to combat it!

Dozy I hope you're feeling as summery as you sound today Smile I am sure you look lovely!

Mzzzf I know, another week down - where is the time going! I can't believe on Friday I will be six months gone - that's half a blimmin' year! Glad your DH hasn't got a broken hand, although sounds like you had a right old catastrophe last night!

Redsparklyshoes · 22/04/2015 11:58

Morning all!
Thanks for all the lovely comments on my scan.
I had a query on the Mat1B form, have you got yours yet?
I called the midwife who says I get it when I see my GP at 25 weeks. I thought I read somewhere online (so must be trueWink) that you get it at 20 weeks?
Baby is somersaulting today but might be due to the 4 biscuits I just scoffed! Oops!
I hope your symptoms all subside soon everyone.
Here's cake and flowers for you all
CakeFlowers

dillydollydarling · 22/04/2015 14:15

I've been told that you get the MATB1 form at your 25 week appointment. I still don't have my maternity exemption certificate as I keep forgetting to sort it!!

This morning OH decided to start talking to bump, and bump replied with a couple of strong kicks! Was lovely to see Grin

pinkie87 · 22/04/2015 14:15

Red I rang my midwife this morning as it's her day at the surgery and asked if she could do me a MATB1 for me to collect later. My next appointment I will be 24+5 and my work want it by 25 weeks so I wanna get it in! She said she'd do it today.

siani thanks for hayfever advice, and OMC I'm thinking that too, may as well get it free if I can!

sianihedgehog · 22/04/2015 14:57

I got my matB1 at the 24 week appointment. Some people have said that if you ask, midwives will give them slightly earlier, so worth trying! I keep forgetting to sort out my exemption certificate, too. Who knew there was so much PAPERWORK to being pregnant?!

OMC1 · 22/04/2015 15:15

They can do them at any point after your 20 week scan, I had mine sent to me at the start of last week as my employers want to see me the day before I am next due to see my midwife! I am sure if you ask they can do it!

Lilydreams · 22/04/2015 17:52

Doh! Wrote a long post out yesterday and the lost it! Was right before bedtime and so couldn't be bothered re typing! Sorry guys!

I haven't got exemption certificate yet either- is it just a case of asking midwife and she fills one in?!

Thanks for all the kind words after my little meltdown! I've felt so much better the last couple of days- think the lovely weather helps! Actually felt nice yesterday dresses in leggings and a floaty vest top and new converse! I swear I have those funny mirrors you get at funfairs- some days I see big fat fatty and others a nice neat bump! Weird! Must be how baby is lying maybe- if I feel stretches then I think I look it and vice versa! Maxi dresses is a good tip- I have a couple I reckon might fit nicely still!

OMC- sorry about your worries about mat leave length- hope you manage to get sorted! I'm only taking 6 months- 7 with a months annual leave which I'm waiting to hear if it is approved, and then going back part time which will take some getting used to financially but the only way we can do it as we both work shifts which would mean paying for childcare everyday of the week and relying on family at weekends- so we will be financially better off me being part time than we would be going back full time but still worse of than now if that makes sense! Plus we'd never see poor baby if I was full time!
