It makes sense that they should give it u if u ask before your appointment beca use employers want it ASAP before u turn 25 weeks but u might not have your midwife appointment before then. I've just booked my next appt when I'm 24+5 so I can get it handed in to work afterwards. My daft midwife put on my paperwork that I needed to book in mid may for my 25 week appt but that's more like 28 weeks!

Mzzf I forgot to comment about your poor dp and flat tyre. What a nightmare! Not what u needed after being stuck in a&e! Hope u weren't too tired at work etc.

I've loved the sunshine today. Been to tesco and asda to pick some nappies etc while the baby events are on. Storing it all at my mums house until I've finished the nursery heehee . It's great being able to just dump it all at hers.

Spent all day trying to get a decent bump picture too. I feel so vain but I felt nice in my maxi dress for a change and with the sun shining I figured it was perfect opportunity. I've not had a bump picture on facebook before so thought I'd show it off now it looks more bumpy.

I've been having physio since before I conceived. Spd never went away after last time. It got lots better but of course has been getting worse again. I've had weekly physio since 10 weeks which is why I'm still at work. Last time I went off sick at 26 weeks and I was in a wheelchair at the end. Frantic in case it happens again.

Mw appointment tomorrow. Hopefully she'll do the Doppler.I want to hear the new small. Got to take dd with me. Pray that she behaves!

Frolicacid · 23/04/2015 07:37

Good morning!!
I've just lost my breakfast quite unexpectedly, so I'm back to bed for half an hour.

Sorry to those with back / pelvic pain. I've been lucky to avoid that so far.

pinkie, I also a hay fever sufferer. I'm usually bad at this time of year. At the moment I can't tell if I'm any more snotty than I have been throughout the pregnancy. I blow so much blood and snot out every morning. I usually take fexfenadine, asthma inhalers and eye drops. I think trip to the gp is in order to see what I can take.

Sorry you're also feeling rough mzzf. Let's hope it passes soon. I hope your dh's hand is getting better. Sounds like a total nightmare evening for you.

I've not had my matB form yet. Seeing my midwife at 26 weeks, so hopefully work won't mind waiting till then.

I know exactly what you mean lily. In some outfits I feel I look like I have a nice, neat bump. In other things, I just look like a whale.

Yay for finding an outfit you're happy with dozy. And for getting a good bump picture. I keep forgetting to take them.

I hope your appointment today goes well jockstar, I'm sure dd will be an angel.

I finally read through my maternity notes properly last night. Lots of good information about monitoring movement. I also found a leaflet about local antenatal classes, so I can get us booked in. My scan report was in there and I'd not even noticed Blush. It says I have an anterior placenta. That will probably explain why we can hardly ever feel him from the outside.

Have a good day everyone. Almost the weekend!

happygojo · 23/04/2015 11:22

Hi Everyone, Just checking in. I second that about sometimes feeling like I have a nice bump and other times just feeling massive. My baby is very active and I can now see her move if I am lying down, especially in the bath. I can't tell yet what body parts are which though. Sorry you are STILL being sick Frolic I hope you aren't too miserable. Do you feel ok between being sick?

My upper back is killing me, it feels like it needs a good old crack iyswim, I just can't get it to 'go'. I am at yoga tonight so I might ask the teacher for advice. It is probably to do with rib expansion and my giant knockers (drifting close to a H now Shock)

I have 46 working days until maternity leave.... can't wait!

mzzzf · 23/04/2015 12:00

Howdy ladies!

Sorry some of you are still feeling sick, achey and not feeling so great about your bumps/size. I totally get you with the whole bump/size thing. Somedays she's sticking right out at the front and others she's transverse and hugging me like a 'fanny pack' Grin. I'm convinced it depends on the amount of room you have between your ribs and pelvis, if you're shorter you're more likely to stick out most often otherwise us taller folk just have an extra tyre from a sideways on baby.

I feel for those of you with maternity leave issues, not being able to afford the situation you want is horrible. However, I'm on the other side of the boat, I'm desperately missing proper work. I haven't been able to do my normal work due to pregnancy complications so I'm getting withdrawal symptoms and I'm already planning on getting back on the scene at baby's 6month mark (Jan 2016). I feel a bit ashamed to mention this to family as I instantly get judged and the "well you'll change your tune after she's born" etc etc. they make it sound like its a choice of you either love your baby or your job - not both!!

Oooh maternity pj's have arrived!! I'm ridiculously excited Grin

Redsparklyshoes · 23/04/2015 12:11

Maternity pjs delivery!! May I ask where from? Not sure what I'm going to want to wear as I'm due end of August so it might be a warm Summer! Also might not want something on my bump but can I start to wear a..... Nightie!!!??? Grin

Frolicacid · 23/04/2015 12:18

Thanks happy. I don't feel too bad in between pukes. It's nowhere near as bad as it was in the first trimester. My appetite is mostly good and I'm definitely not loosing weight, so I shouldn't complain really. I'm just so bored of it!!
46 working days sounds like nothing!! Yippee!!! I just counted mine as I thought it would be longer, but it's actually only 36!!!! Yes!!

Don't feel bad mzzf about doing what is right for you. I was only off for 3 weeks with hg and found it really hard, so I know where you're coming from.
I'm counting the days now until I finish, but who really knows if any of us will enjoy being at home full time for however long. It's such a shame we feel judged and judge ourselves for whatever choices we make.
I hope you're feeling ok, look after yourself Flowers

It's so nice here today! I'm supposed to be catching up on admin, but the office feels like a cage and I can't focus at all!

happygojo · 23/04/2015 12:30

maternity PJ's! I never knew such a thing existed! Might have to have a look.

I bought a nightie the other week from Peacocks. It is in an A-line style and sleeveless. the top bit has buttons that undo so I thought it would be really good for hospital or after the baby is born as you can just 'get your boob out!' Plus at only £6 a pop, you won't mind chucking them out when they get a bit grim straight after birth/getting used to a newborn. My OH also said that it 'looks like a proper' dress so i figured it could be teamed with leggings in the house for the ultimate in lazy attire

Here it is anyway in case others are interested:

mzzzf · 23/04/2015 12:55

I got my maternity pj's from m&s. They literally have one design only though. I got them for comfort and for potential birth action - we'll see!!

I don't think I can bring myself to wear a nightie, gaaah even the sound of the word gives me the heebie jeebies!! Grin. I think I'll end up in just a bra/vest top for labour, with my bum out for all the see - sod it!!

Dozygirl · 23/04/2015 14:04

Oh yes happy that's a perfect nightie! I was dreading wearing a floaty thing as they are so unattractive on shapes like mine but I think that would be perfect plus the button thing is great for breastfeeding. Defo gonna invest in one of those. Thanks for the link. Do they have other colours though as that is not really my colour?

Frolicacid · 23/04/2015 14:49

Thanks happy! I'll definetly PPP to peacocks on my way home.
So far I've been wearing my normal pj's with a long vest. I'm getting quite hot now at night so will probably end up naked soon.
I don't usually like nighties as they always end up under my armpits, but that looks perfect for birth / breastfeeding. I love your idea for teaming it with leggings for the ultimate post natal lounge wear.

My god my motivation is lacking today!! Is it home time yet? I want to go to the beach!

happygojo · 23/04/2015 15:14

The only other colour is grey and white stripes... but hey you can always dye one I suppose. I am going to get another one in one more size up for hospital I think

Lilydreams · 23/04/2015 19:04

Dozy- don't blame you for getting a good pic whilst you were feeling nice! I'm torn between not wanting any pics of me pregnant and taking a few if I look half decent like you describe!

Joksar- I feel for you with spd- a friend at work is suffering with it too and I don't envy you it sounds awful! In the last week I have been getting some twinges in my coccyx and pelvis and hope it's just that I've pulled something and not the beginnings of something more sinister!

Oh Frolic sorry to hear about the sickness again! I feel for you- it's so much worse when it catches you off guard too isn't it!?

All this talk of pjs/ nighties- I haven't even thought about it but will probably pinch some of your ideas!

Was supposed to have yoga tonight but teacher somehow managed to forget! Doh! Had a nice chatter with one of the other girls whilst we were waiting and we were pretty much on the same page about labour etc- both looking into hypnobirthing- I've only had a quick flick through the book I got so far and haven't put the cd on yet as I'm trying not to get distracted until I've done my uni exam but thinks it's definitely worth a try! Anyone else????

Frolicacid · 23/04/2015 22:18

I think I'll have a look into hypnobirthing lily. I don't think I'll go the whole hog, but would like to aim to understand some of the basic principles.

I think I've got trapped wind or that I've managed to pull something in my bump. I've got a really bad pain on my left side. The same level as my belly button and about half way to my back. I'm not sure what to do Confused. I have had a massive walk and a long sit down on the beach while DH was surfing. Hopefully it's just strained from that. Or I'm brewing a giant fart! The kettle is on for a hot water bottle. Has anyone got any other suggestions that might help?

rascalrae · 23/04/2015 22:44

I'm also thinking about hypnobirthing Lily. I don't have a CD player but I particularly Want to listen to the relaxation exercises. Was trying to find mp3s to download but got overwhelmed and gave up. Will have to look again at the weekend.

pinkie87 · 24/04/2015 08:17

Lily I'm quite interested in hypnobirthing. I don't think we can afford the actual course but I'm fairly sure I'm going to get the book and CD at some point.

Like the look of that nightie Happy and may be perfect for during/after birth.

Frolic hope your pain has gone today and you didn't actually pull anything?

I'm so glad it's friday! and 22 weeks today, so another week closer. :)

Frolicacid · 24/04/2015 09:35

The pain feels better today thanks pinkie. I think I just over did it. There are loads of steps down to the beach we went to last night. Walking up them nearly killed me! Hopefully that's all it was.

I woke up loads in the night with cramp in my calf. It's not something I usually get. Another lovely pregnancy perk I suppose?!

Happy Friday everyone. I'm going to sleep all weekend if I can Smile

sianihedgehog · 24/04/2015 10:01

Yep, I'm getting cramp in my legs at night, too, definitely another magical joy of pregnancy. Not helped by the fact that the cats are apparently madly in love with pregnant ladies and both insist on taking over my bed all night.
We've made yet another offer on a house this week, but not holding out much hope - there's another offer in already and the other buyers have a bigger deposit. :( house is just beautiful, though, so I'm trying to be reassured that good houses ARE out there.

dillydollydarling · 24/04/2015 12:12

Anyone else finding it really hard to get to sleep when baby is wriggling around having a party?! This happens every night! And I also find that when I get up to go to the toilet in the night, it wakes baby up and s/he starts partying again!

sianihedgehog · 24/04/2015 12:17

dillydolly yep!! I'm also finding that if I get up for a wee, then baby moves around, then I have to immediately get up for ANOTHER wee. :( I think baby must be giving my bladder a good shove.

sianihedgehog · 24/04/2015 12:17

I'm getting woken up by kicking occasionally, too. Very unnerving!

OMC1 · 24/04/2015 12:42

Dillydolly Yes, same here! I am so torn because I adore feeling the movements, but at the same time I need to sleep! Have woken up at 4am every morning this week without fail.

Siani Fingers crossed for you.

OMC1 · 24/04/2015 12:44

Oh, Frolic, I get a really similar sounding pain, particularly when I walk or exercise, have had it since quite early on - I've been told it's ligament pain, but am going to double check with the midwife again next week!

dillydollydarling · 24/04/2015 13:27

Glad it's not just me!
siani I also have the same problem about needing to pee as soon as I've been! I think baby shifts sometimes too and I suddenly feel like I'm about to pee myself out of nowhere!

I do love feeling baby move though so I shouldn't complain! Can't believe I've got just over 18 weeks left!! Grin

Redsparklyshoes · 24/04/2015 14:42

Happy Friday all!
I had to share my scan news as I'm so happy! Went on Tuesday for the 20 wk scan and baby was being awkward and wriggled into positions making it difficult for the measurements and checks to be done so back I went today. Baby must have listened to my telling it I needed it to behave and do what we asked as it was in all the right positions and didn't move when the scanner needed it staying still (unlike Tuesday when it kicked and moved galore!) and we got to see so much intricate detail including the heart chambers and valves and the blood flowing in and out. Incredible!
I'm so over the moon and just can't wait to meet our little bundle!
Team yellow still!! How I didn't find out though as was tempted hehe!
Have a lovely weekend all Flowers
