Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Morning ladies, hope most had an okay night and that you feel better Penguin.

My bump really hurts this morning and woke me up in the night. I don't know if it's worth phoning the midwife as the doctor said they wanted to know if my bump started hurting when she sent off the pre-eclampsia sample but i've heard nothing in over a week and there was nothing in yesterday's sample so maybe not worth bothering them.

skyra13 · 11/03/2015 07:36

So good morning all!!

I had an exciting night DH helped me deforest my garden Grin now feel like a women again and new trimmers he brought me are really good!!

Settled to watch OBEM and it annoyed the hell out of me tbh!
DH asked why they was not screaming I said well don't think I will be that happy I don't plan to have an epidural these ladies obviously have had one!

The guy with the young girl done my head in I was like why is he not supporting his GF she the one pushing the baby out an he there stressing is obvs not helping!! Yes you are worried everyone would be but be a bit more support then a big ball of mess!! Even my DH pointed out shouldn't he be supporting her better lol Glad the baby was all well though!!

I thought it was a sad episode to put on first, the other couple seemed lovely just a little to happy for me sad about there loss though before this one.
Maybe being pregnant is the reason why I did not enjoy the show as much who knows!!

I love my DH very much but I am so glad he has left for work because 1 I can eat the rest of the bacon and 2 he has a really annoying cough at the moment and its pissing me off! lol :D

Looking forward to my friend visiting for the next few days finally will have someone to drag bra shopping with me :D

Hope you are all good this morning! Brew

RL20 · 11/03/2015 07:37

Morning everyone Brew

7am seems to be the time that I wake up almost every morning now?! I always set my alarm a bit later since being on mat leave, usually an 8am one and a 9am! Blush But I'm ways awake before!
Probably because we ended up going bed at 8pm though, and fell sleep pretty much straight away!

I'm still losing track of the days with this no working thing! When I was talking to my partner last night I remember saying a few times that Wednesday is a rubbish night for telly as nothing was on. And I've just realised it's only Wednesday today Confused

Squatting ahh I knew there was someone else! Have mine this morning, although she's booked it a bit later than normal and I think that's probably because I've been turning up a few minutes late every time! I don't know why I find appointments so hard to get to early! Hoping that she thinks baby is head down like he was last time! Aside from the hiccups I get on my left side near my hip, it's still hard for me to tell.
Yes I think I'm going to have another FB clear-out actually. At this rate I'll have no one on there! Grin

Anyone else religiously sleeping on their left side? I am still, but have woke myself up a few times in the night, realised I'm on my right and panicked and turned back around! Grin Sleeping on my right doesn't seem natural anymore but it's one thing I'm looking forward to be able to do again without worrying!

Firaffe a friend of mine (or acquaintance, not really sure what to call people who I don't see that often anymore Grin) had her growth scan last week as they said baby was measuring around 3 weeks ahead! I think she's 36 weeks and baby was measuring 39! But went for the growth scan and baby was somehow back down to around 36 weeks?! Sometimes it can be human error I think, but even if baby is small I'm sure everything will be fine. One of my relatives had her baby early last week, she was due around the 4th of April I think. He was little but is doing well and I believe there back home too! Good luck Thanks

RL20 · 11/03/2015 07:39

Firaffe do ring them. It's not bothering them it's their job, and tell them that you were told to call if it started hurting. Hope everything's ok x

skyra13 · 11/03/2015 07:48

RL My Bump is all left hand side so I find it gets sore if I sleep on that side all night so I swap from left to right normally move with in an hour then I also sleep sitting up to when I have back pain.
I never liked sleeping on my left before as I used to be able to feel my heart beat and it made me feel sick!!

RL20 · 11/03/2015 08:07

Ha ha skyra.
I can't even remember what side I used to sleep on! All I know is I must mainly lie on my back because my hair at the back is always messy and knotty! I tend to sit leaning up slightly too if I can. I wonder how we'll get comfy around 39 weeks! Blush
I pruned the garden too in the bath the other night! Grin It does make you feel better actually. Although it's definitely not for the midwifes benefit when it comes to birth, I'm sure they will have seen a lot worse!! It just makes me feel a bit cleaner!

PenguinPoser · 11/03/2015 08:10

Morning all - much Brew needed this morning, another bad night of not being able to breathe resulting in DH going to the spare room for the first time - feel a bit Sad about it but suppose he might as well get some sleep rather than me keeping him awake especially since he has to go to work. I've tried a vapor rub on my chest Misty but going to try inhaling today. If I have no relief I'm using a squirt of sinex tonight!! The saline drops were ok but only for about half an hour.

RL at the moment I would accept any comfortable sleeping position so not too bothered about my left although I've always been a side sleeper anyway so spend at least half the time on my left side.

Cinnamon I have no doubt that you're right there is definitely a higher risk of interventional delivery with an epidural. Obviously I want a normal delivery but not willing to rule out any pain relief options either Grin so will end up going with the flow I think. Wouldn't be surprised if I have an epidural but not going in saying that's what I want.

FiRaffe if you're worried call them - especially if the pain doesn't settle down. Better to be safe.

Skyra I should have enlisted my DH's help with the garden situation too as I ended up cutting myself twice Blush no spatial awareness when it was all backwards in the mirror!

Going for bloods, CTG and my first steroid injection this afternoon, don't have anyone to come and hold my hand for the injection cos I'm a wimp so not looking forward to that!

36+5

daholster · 11/03/2015 08:13

Ha skyra I've had that before too! it's so annoying when you can feel your heart wiggling on the bed! Confused Grin

Sorry for any bad nights... Ours was good! I woke once for the loo at 4am. Dd slept through Grin She's still in bed, although I can hear grandpa is up and about.

skyra lol about the mug, no I hadn't noticed but I think you are right! Very jealous about your shopping with a friend. My regular friends have toddlers too and it's never the same again trying to shop with little people, it's such hard work!!! And my best friend isn't here to accompany me - she's in the army and in Kenya til the end of March Sad I wonder if she'll be available to spend a day with me before ds arrives and when dd is at nursery? It's hard, her barracks is in Gloucester too about 1hr40 mins drive away and she also needs time to see parents and sister in Norfolk and boyfriend too in Bath... So not sure there'll be space left in that two weeks for little old me! Though to be honest she is WONDERFUL at putting friends and family first and I know given the situation she will def prioritise me a slot if we can organise it Grin...

She's my back up birth partner since dh is Scotland. Until she comes home she's no more help than dh being out there though is she?! Not sure I can think of another back up and might choose to go it alone if neither of them are back. Not 100% sure.

Oh, now I reeeeaaaally miss her Sad

Lol what a self indulgent morning ramble! Lol!!!! Morning everyone! Blush

daholster · 11/03/2015 08:17

Good luck today penguin!!! Try sterimar sinus wash, it's a bit pricey but it actually squirts the water into your sinuses and washes them out. Fine in pregnancy, works better and lasts longer than drops. Bit weird to use though!!!

RL there isn't any getting comfy at 39 weeks... Sorry about that Grin

skyra13 · 11/03/2015 08:18

Awww Penguin we will hole your hand for you :D

I have lots of tattoos but I hate injections!!

From what I can tell DH did a good job, The trimmer we brought come with some diamonds to put down on your bits....DH said want me to vajazzle you!! Lmfao was like no thanks hun!! Grin

I have midwife appointment tomo and consultant next week to find out if they will let me use the birth centre I really hope they do!!

Wineandchoccy · 11/03/2015 08:26

Morning all, it's very cold this morning and I need to defrost the car which is rubbish. There should be a pregnant ladies service that you can call to do all the rubbish jobs that involve hard work, bending and stretching Grin

I didn't sleep to bad last night only needed the toilet once which us an improvement on the previous few nights.

I didn't watch OBEM last night will have to watch it later.

skyra13 · 11/03/2015 08:27

daholster It is hard is't it when friends are so far away.

I moved from Birmingham and me an my best mate have grown up together my parents followed me to Kent so I see them But I have not been back up to Birmingham So she is very good at visiting me a few time a year. I hate were I grew up Only reason I would go back is for her.
She make the 3 hours trip few times a year and we just spend days catching up :)

I love a good ramble!!

penguin I suffered really badly with my sinuses at around 16 weeks, Doctors gave me antibiotics as I had server headaches and that did not work!! One doctor finally gave me a sinus steroid spray called Avamys really helped me maybe you could get something like that from a visit to the doctor.

Mine was bad though they though I has pre-eclampsia at 16 weeks and was taken to A&E my headaches were so bad I couldn't do nothing.

AnniaFausta · 11/03/2015 08:31

Morning all! To celebrate hitting 35 weeks today, I woke up with cracking cramp in my inside left thigh and knee! Ended up practicing my breathing exercises until it calmed down enough to go and get a heat pad, but that was joyful. Also got a taxi down to the station for the first time this morning - said to DH that I was a bit embarrassed as I'd hoped to make it though to maternity leave still walking, at which point he gave me a look and asked how many weeks I was. He may have a point. I am still resisting the label 'heavily pregnant', although with less and less conviction.

RL, I'm trying to sleep on my left side - at least, I start out that way, and wake up sometimes on my back, or sometimes with some hip pain that means I need to go onto my right side to relieve it.

Into work today... nine more days on site and then maternity leave at the end of the month. How did that happen?? And why did nobody tell my to-do list?

PenguinPoser · 11/03/2015 08:37

Thanks for the hand holding skyra! I'm actually wondering whether the steroid injection will help my sinuses! I think that it might fingers crossed although clearly that isn't the reason for having it. I don't think they are infected as (sorry TMI) it's all clear discharge coming out not green or bloody so most likely still a virus. maybe man flu!
daholster I considered the saline douche as well - couldn't see any in asda last night but the pharmacy bit was closed.
I do apologise ladies for moaning so much about what is clearly a cold but just totally not what I needed when I'm expecting a baby in the next few days fingers crossed!

Hope you get to catch up with your friend daholster

daholster · 11/03/2015 08:46

Ooh penguin you might be right about the steroid injection! I really hope so!!!

RL20 · 11/03/2015 08:46

Daholster I know what you mean RE friends - mine isn't far away but works evenings, goes to college during the day and does a placement on a Friday. Inbetween all of this she's one of the main guardians for her younger siblings so does the school runs etc. we has arranged to speak to each other on the Monday just gone and see if we can sort something out as she was free after 11.30am. We both ended up forgetting and were apologising to each other! Confused Is it bad that I didn't realise until around 4/5pm! Although I'm on maternity leave now, my mind just seems so busy!

Wine it looks warm over here today, and was like Summer yesterday! I say looks warm because I haven't yet actually made it outside Grin It could well have been frosty this morning though when my partner went to work. With talks of cars you have reminded me to fill up my windscreen washer, so thanks! Should really check the oil whilst I'm there too. I always seem to forget Confused

Skyra I bet that would give the midwives a giggle - a good old sparkly vajazzle! Grin

Annia I agree, the 'heavily pregnant' label is a bit Shock although I'm sure I heard them describe Kate Middleton as heavily pregnant the other day, so I suppose we are! And she's tiny again this time round. I wonder if she's having another boy as she's carrying exactly the same from what I've seen, and has had the sickness again

Bloody pregnancy hormones, I can't stop crying this morning. I wanted to make breakfast and I can't find my frying pan. How can you lose a frying pan ffs? And I'm fed up of ill-fitting maternity trousers that have to be hoiked up every two minutes or they fall down. Grumph.

TinyTear · 11/03/2015 09:23

Stunt I bought such a pair in H&M (fortunately just the one) and took to clipping them to my vest with a baby on board badge under my top when i had to wear them Grin

FiRaffe · 11/03/2015 09:24

Hehe skyra, you made me chuckle out loud about the bacon now everyone is looking at me strangely!!!

Hope all goes on Penguin with the injections etc and the rescan Misty. Oh and with the frying pan hunt StuntNun!

skyra13 · 11/03/2015 09:41

Fi Glad I made someone laugh this morning!!

I am currently in a mood FIL and my Dad have turned up to do back garden I do not remember being told and now I am annoyed as My house was lovely and clean and now the dog has ran paw prints in all over floor Angry

And I have had to move things for them to bring god knows what through the house and I have my lovely friend visiting and was so happy with how clean the house was I want to SCREAM!!

Why do people just insist on turning up one these days sumone will walk in on me and DH NAKED of the sofa having sexy time!! They might think about telling us they are going to visit then Grin

I have a pair of ASDA jeans they just fall down all the time under bump trousers seem no good for me!

BananaToast · 11/03/2015 09:45

I was out last night so haven't had a chance to watch OBEM yet - that's tonight sorted.

Just had my 34 week appointment this morning, all looking good, baby still head down but not engaged yet. I asked about the pelvic pain I've been having and he said it's probably not worth referring me at this point because I'll deliver before I get seen. Thought that would probably be the case. Good luck for yours this morning RL.

daholster · 11/03/2015 09:46

Falling down trousers is one of the reasons I love over the bump trousers. All the under the bump ones I had from last time make me look fat and always fall down incessantly... Big over the bump trousers are so comfy!!! And feel like they support my bump a bit too.

Ripped a hole on my favourite pair 3 inches long on the bum cheek... (H&M) Just got a new pair off eBay in bright punk for £15. Hardly worn. Hoping they fit as nicely and being bright pink jeans they are much more maternity leave-ish than the beige chinos that were so comfy and good for work and home but now ruined! Only thing is the blue jeans I bought from there are rather tight in a 14 despite size 12 chinos being fine! Think the punk ones have stretch though... Fingers crossed...

RL20 · 11/03/2015 10:06

RE maternity trousers, I bought some from Mothercare a couple of months ago. They didn't have the ones I stock that I wanted but the ones I ended up getting were too 'straight legged' at the bottom rather than skinny which is what I wanted. They were also a bit long and as I don't have long legs they just never looked right! I kept meaning to take them up but just couldn't be bothered! So I have been living in leggings! Which I suppose I did before anyway Grin also felt like the jeans were squishing me a bit even though they were under bump. But if I had got a bigger size they would of looked silly. Oh well, leggings it is!

RiverRocks · 11/03/2015 10:16

I've pretty much given up on jeans/trousers for this reason. I've got one decent over the bump pair, from Asda, but they've gone awol in the wash Sad Dresses and leggings for me!

Banana there's not really much they can do for pelvic pain anyway. The physio gave me a sexy support belt, which was more for my back, and crutches which I have yet to use. It's more a case of following advice such as keep your knees together, and don't overdo it yeah right

DH has had to call in sick today because he's not slept well for the last few nights and he's now feeling sick and headachey. Think that's probably my fault Blush
