Toffeegirl - go to the appointment. It's not you who is sick.

DeladionInch · 09/03/2015 11:16

so so so tired and I've pulled something in my back which is referring to my hip. might do hot water bottle once ds home from school and down for his nsp Sad

ambientolf · 09/03/2015 11:31

It's so scary having pains and not knowing if they're normal or not! I'm trying not be be worried unless I'm in a lot of pain (most of mine have just been annoying). I do have shortness of breathe though which I think is supposed to be a pregnancy sympton. It's like a minefield!

GoooRooo · 09/03/2015 11:32

I didn't do the last three in my first pregnancy either DeladionInch - I gave birth at 37 weeks Grin

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 09/03/2015 11:56

toffee as I understand it you are only contagious from the time you become symptomatic so you should be fine if you're not ill yourself.

DS had d&v last week and DH over the weekend, just praying I've escaped it!

SpamAnderson · 09/03/2015 12:02

Morning all!
dd1 is off to hospital in the morning for an opersation :/ Don't know how my preggy hormones are going to handle that! I have a feeling I shall spend most of the time in tears :(
I can tell I've hit the 2nd trimester, the appetite has well and truly kicked in. I've eaten more this morning that I've been eating in whole days so far :( Weighed this morning and I've put 2lbs of the lost 16lbs, back on :( Really hoping it's just a fluke and it'll stop going on :( I know it's such a stupid thing to worry about but it's a big source of my anxiety and I was feeling quite 'stable' with it coming off, quite in control.

Toffeegirl39 · 09/03/2015 12:32

Thanks guys. Yes praying I don't catch it too - madly cleaning everything with Anti bac wipes and bleach.

DeladionInch · 09/03/2015 12:40

I was 38+3 last time, hoping for similar this time round too!

THEworrywart · 09/03/2015 12:41

Is anybody else really wanting and needing sugar at the minute? I'm not giving in but I could really do with like 5000 bars of chocolate or cupcakes Sad

DeladionInch · 09/03/2015 12:42

spam deep breaths and trust the experts. Re weight, 1-2lb is normal variation over the course of a day iirc - I fluctuate by about 5 across a month - so you might not be gaining at all apart from the baby, the placenta and several pints of fluid. Seriously, weigh a pint of milk sometime, it's reeeeeeeeally heavy!

shinjuku09 · 09/03/2015 13:03

Treacle I thought for a moment that you were going to say you had cried over the Dulux room visualiser app!

It is definitely soooo much easier to make friends with a baby, and I say that as someone who's borderline antisocial and scared of ever making first move with potential friends!! What I have found is I tend to make baby friends quite randomly. I might go to a group for months and not particularly meet anyone and then make a new friend from soft play or a playground! There are just so many more opportunities to meet people.

Definitely having baths here. I probably have them a teensy bit warmer than is strictly recommended at first (just looove getting into a hot bath) but tend to then cool it down after a minute or so with more cold water (I know, I'm weird!!). It is really prolonged hot water that would pose a danger and baths generally cool down pretty fast so just don't have a scalding hot one and don't keep topping up with hot water!

Kittykitty05 · 09/03/2015 13:27

I'm waiting on a phone call today with cvs results. It's turning out to be the longest day of my life. Dh and I have been for a long walk this am along the seafront from one toms to another and back, trying to keep busy. This phone call will either mean they were right and baby won't make it through the whole pregnancy, or we've beaten the odds and we carry on with fingers crossed SadConfused. I wouldn't wish this wait on my worst enemy.

THEworrywart · 09/03/2015 13:35

Oh kitty I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :( thinking of you good luck x

THEworrywart · 09/03/2015 13:50

I think I'm going to stop using this as it makes my anxiety worse :(

Good luck to everyone I hope your pregnancies go as smooth as they can possibly go. Flowers

ambientolf · 09/03/2015 14:08

Sending good thoughts your way kitty
Just trying to get through an exceptionally busy day here. I have a full teaching load on a Monday, I had a lunchtime of extra-curricular presentations and I'm now sat on 'library duty' until 5:15. I wouldn't mind the duty so much as I can get stuff done, but the only student in is a boarder and they're allowed in anyway! It will get busier as the fear sets in after the Easter Holidays!
Anyway, probably just as well I'm ridiculously busy today as it's scan today tomorrow - 8:30 am! Getting really excited now. Saw a really strong heartbeat at 8 +1 so hoping for good things tomorrow at 12 +5! Really looking forward to being able to tell people.
