I hope you get good news soon kitty.

I had my scan today, moved ahead a few days and now due on 7th sept. Struggled to get the nuchal measurement and I gad to wriggle around a lot!
Finally got a measurement of 1.8mm.
Was also seen by the consultant who prescribed a low dose of aspirin and scans at 30 and 36 weeks and an increased risk of pre eclampsia due to my kidney condition. To be fair my own renal doctor was non plussed so I am not getting in a flap about it.

DeladionInch · 09/03/2015 17:18

hugs worry and all the best

thinking of you kitty

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 09/03/2015 17:45

We're nearly there, DoctorDonna! I've got to hold out til 1450 :(

Kitty thinking of you, wait must be agonising.

ambientolf · 09/03/2015 18:48

pigriver I'm on low dose aspirin too as my mum had pre eclampsia & it's my first child. Here's hoping we don't develop it, it sounds terrifying.

misssmilla1 · 09/03/2015 20:15

pig and ambient I'm on low dose aspirin too due to genetic clotting issues. Has anyone said anything yet about how long you'll be on it for? My dr hasn't mentioned a limit, but I've read it's to be avoided in the 3rd trimester

getoffthecoffeetable · 09/03/2015 20:24

The thing about preeclampsia is that it's dangerous if it's not picked up, it sounds like you ladies are in great hands. X

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 09/03/2015 20:50

I'm on low dose aspirin too due to pregnancy induced hypertension (high blood pressure) with my first DD. Dont think it was ever classed as pre eclampsia but i was certainly on my way and induced 2 weeks early due to it rocketing and not coming down after meds!
Ive been told to take it up to 20 weeks then they will re asses at my 20 week appointment. Whatever that means.

deeplybaffled · 09/03/2015 20:56

kitty - thinking of you and hope that you do beat the odds. X

Pigriver · 09/03/2015 21:00

The consultant said to take it until 36 weeks. I am seeing my own consultant next month so I'll double check with him. Slightly worried about taking it as I was warned by the pharmacist that as I am allergic to ibuprofen I may also be allergic to aspirin. Warned me to take with some one around.....
My BP was up to 112/82 but it is usually on the low side.

bonzo77 · 09/03/2015 21:03

I'm on low dose aspirin because of my history of IUGR baby and problems with placental blood flow, and in addition because of my age Hmm. Was told to continue until a week before my delivery (will be a planned CS). I was on aspirin for my last pregnancy and only had 3 days notice for my planned CS. I stopped taking it the day I was given a date. During the CS I lost I believe 300 ml of blood, which is utterly normal, not excessive at all.

kitty thnking of you: hope you have had the call now and you at least have some information.

spam how did the op go?

worry good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I know how these threads can both comfort and confuse in equal measure.

toffee unless you are actually vomiting I would still go. Even if you just have the shits, good hygiene should make things safe.

Kittykitty05 · 09/03/2015 21:07

No phone call today, they'd said it should be today, but tom am at latest so at least I'll know tomorrow.

I was also asked to take aspirin, as I have love PAPP-A protein, which if not due to a trisomy syndrome could indicate problems later on, though I've now read lots of studies that slate the PAPP-A part of screening as unreliable. I've read that if on aspirin you need to stop it by 36 weeks. I did ring cardiac care two weeks ago as I'm under them to check I'm okay to take it. They never did bother returning my call, hopefully it's okay!

SpamAnderson · 09/03/2015 21:18

sigh found out from mum this evening that my dad is concerned about my age and having another baby as he thought I was too old..... I'm bloody 29!!!!
toffee I would definitely still go. For example, I work with food, you can still work if a family member has d&v and even if you work from home as long as good hygiene practices are in place so there's no reason you can't go about your normal life :)
bonzo she's not in until tomorrow for her op :) got to ring at 7.30 to check there's a bed available for her and all being well, she'll be going down after 1.30. I'm going to be a bloody wreck :(

DoNotDenyMe · 09/03/2015 21:32

Oh Kitty the wait must be agony. Have everything crossed for you!

DeladionInch · 09/03/2015 21:41

Kitty I suspect that if it were difficult news they'd have rung by now. when I had my 12w bloods, the mw said if I didn't hear then all was fine. I know the same happens for eg cancer screening as we've had a couple of nail biting waits with my dad. seems a bit mean not to let you know either way asap though

StrawberryCheese · 09/03/2015 23:04

spamanderson Your dad said what? Shock

One week until my scan. I have to get through a week of work, dinner with a friend and another friend staying at the weekend without giving the game away. It's becoming more difficult.

Mummyboo30 · 09/03/2015 23:47

Kitty keeping everything still tightly crossed for you tomorrow. When you didn't post for so long, I feared the worst for you. But hopefully there's truth in the saying "no news is good news"

Spam no offence, but your dad sounds like a bit of an idiot. Does he think pregnancy at 29 is a health risk?! Crazy! Hmm

I had a consultant appointment for my apparently raised risk of dvt today. Answered a couple of questions, found out that actually I'm not at all. So that was a relief. Also got my bp taken and it's finally back down! I've managed to go from 135/89 to 100/60 in about 4 weeks! A bit proud of myself!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 10/03/2015 02:21

We need to.compile a list of all our ages just for spams dad! He'd be horrified by some of us!

strawberry we had 12 close friends round for lunch on Sunday and I managed to remain unrumbled. I've been.drinking Eisberg non alcoholic Riesling which is not unpalatable and looks very convincing. Harder if you're going out though, can you pretend you overindulged the previous night?

Tiredstressed · 10/03/2015 03:15

I am thinking of you Kitty Flowers.

Spam - I am 39, 40 in September!

GoooRooo · 10/03/2015 07:00

I'm 41 in September. At 29 you're a spring chicken Spam. Good luck for your daughters op.

Kitty I have everything crossed for you.

I'm another one on asprin. I had a DVT 12 years ago. Didn't take it in my last pregnancy so can only assume my increased age is the reason for it this time.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 10/03/2015 07:05

So scan's at 8:40 not 8:30 this morning. Barely slept last night. Starting to get a bit worried now. Too many what ifs running around in my head at the moment Confused

Toffeegirl39 · 10/03/2015 07:16

spam I'm 39. (!)
Thanks all for advice re s&d I'm going to go today as I've had no symptoms. Exh and his family gave all been ill but they took ds2 with them on Saturday. Ds1 (aka iron guts) is fine as well.
Thinking of you awaiting results. The waiting is often the worst bit as you're in limbo. Hope news is positive today.
I'm wondering what will happen at this appointment - guess the consultant will tell me to go for a c-section but I'm undecided.

Treaclepie19 · 10/03/2015 07:30

Good luck today doctordonna :)

Does anyone know if it's ok to do Zumba? I assume it is? Need to get some exercise now this nausea and exhaustion finally seems to be wearing off a bit (I'm 11+5)

Mummytogoldie · 10/03/2015 09:15

Thinking of you today kitty x
