Corn I have been feeling the same. Feel terrible and selfish at the fact I am almost cross at the potato for making me feel so rubbish a lot of the time. Growing a human being is hard work! Hope you feel better soon! Thanks

GoooRooo · 18/03/2015 13:40

Picture not very clear but here it is! Scan all fine. Dates has been moved by one day to 28th Sept. Heart beat fine. Nuchal measurement 1.4mm so very relieved. Hope the blood tests bring good news.

Does anyone else look pregnant in maternity clothes despite there being no sign of a bump in regular clothes?!

misssmilla1 · 18/03/2015 15:00

deladion yep, I think it's to do with where the waistband starts. On my maternity trousers as they're low cut and start the elastic under the bump, it creates an all in one smooth bump effect and you can quite clearly see it (esp in the evening as I am bloating like a balloon by the end of the day!)

I bought a jumper on the weekend which was fantastic bargain, and I figured just looked like a large oversize woolly (the sort you'd wear with leggings / skinnies etc) and I could wear it now and afterwards and no-one would be any the wiser - cue the OH saying "jesus, you can definitely tell you're pregnant in that!" so maybe I'm wrong!

Normal trousers etc don't have the same waistband so it sort of cuts in half and I look a bit tubby as I always have.

I also think maternity clothes enhance the bump with the patterns and cuts (aside from the extra room..) I've found a lot of stuff is stripes etc which just draws the eye

Snowflake15 · 18/03/2015 15:17

Deladion missmilla me too - the skater style mat dresses I ordered the waist is right under the boobs and theres extra pleating and fabric to accomodate a big bump, but while I'm still small normal skater dresses seem to cover it better! The extra fabric and high waist line make it look bigger!

Choccyhobnob · 18/03/2015 15:27

We'll def be finding out, think it will help me bond. Treacle My 20 week scan is 11th May too! Even though I'll be 21+6....

Because we just can't wait that long we've booked a private scan on 18th April to find out the sex.

I am 14+1 and crushingly tired too and emotional, and am definitely starting to show (although still not convinced it looks like a bump and not just a fat podge!)

Maths88 · 18/03/2015 15:28

Some lovely scan pics!

I know it's stupid but today I feel very unpregnant! Does anyone else feel like this or have you at all?

THEworrywart · 18/03/2015 15:33

Maths I've just said that exact thing to my mum and that I'm worried because of feeling UNpregnant.

Although I'm not too sure how I expect to feel?

GoooRooo · 18/03/2015 15:43

Maths I felt exactly like that yesterday. I wonder if it's just coming to the end of the first trimester and the symptoms dying down?

I enjoyed the 2nd trimester in my first pregnancy so I am looking forward to this one. The 3rd trimester, not so much.

THEworrywart · 18/03/2015 15:47

Gooroo I didn't have any first trimester symptoms though but I felt a bit pregnant and did yesterday I'm nearly 17 weeks though that might be why! I've got nothing to compare it to though.

There's probably just days where you feel it less (hopefully)

ShootTheMoon · 18/03/2015 15:56

I am one of those women who carries all out front so I am pretty much undeniably pregnant at this stage (13+6). And only a few days ago I vommed when I tried to slice an onion. I am having a pretty hard time this time around! I wouldn't worry though, some people are lucky enough to have a pretty uneventful second trimester.

I just had a call to organise an appointment with a consultant, as I had gestational hypertension last time. I really want a home birth so ideally I don't want to be consultant led, but equally I don't want to go down the same route with GH and a week's postnatal hospital stay, so I want to try to catch/treat it early. Not sure what to feel really.

Scan went fine, got a free picture as the machine broke! Moved due date forward a little to 25th sept but requesting a section so will be before that probably.

I'm already a bit Angry at the 'oh where's your bump?' comments! I'm only 13 weeks and am tall - I'm unlikely to be have ballooned just yet. I constantly had comments about my lack of bump last time and it really really got me down in the end especially as I found out DD wasn't growing as much as they wanted and had to be induced early.

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/03/2015 16:45

shootthemoon have you got a blood pressure monitor to use at home? An arm not wrist one?
I found that if I took my bp twice a day and recorded it in a diary then my readings were way more accurate (and lower) than when done by the MW or hospital. The consultant preferred that way too.
I got mine for less than £20 at Lloyds Pharmacy I think.

ShootTheMoon · 18/03/2015 16:56

Thanks getoff, no, I don't, but I think I will get one at some stage. The real problem was that my BP went dangerously high in labour and I was at risk of stroke and organ failure, and of course then I had to be monitored for pre-eclampsia. So I would prefer to start treatment earlier than labour if it will prevent that!

Maths88 · 18/03/2015 17:23

I'm glad it's not just me but I can't help but feel really nervous about the whole thing.

The only symptom I have had this pregnancy at all is tiredness.

Also tmi but I've had a dodgy tummy - bad cramps and going to the toilet a lot for the past 3 days - could this damage the baby?

ambientolf · 18/03/2015 17:32

I don't feel pregnant either, I'm fact I'm so anxious to have a bump and feel baby move that I'm making myself paranoid! I'm getting so excited at the prospect of being a mum now, that im convinced something will take it away from me.
I definitely want to find out the sex - I'm too impatient to wait Smile

shinjuku09 · 18/03/2015 17:44

maths no do not worry. The only way your baby would be harmed would be if the cause of the upset tummy was something like listeria. Vv unlikely. Having a dodgy belly in itself can't harm little one though I know it feels like it. I get bad ibs sometimes and used to think how can this poss not harm them, but they're sooo well protected in there. They are probably the one causing your dodgy belly in fact!

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/03/2015 17:45

I'm just tired too, no other pregnancy symptoms here.
maths the only thing you need to look out for is keeping hydrated. Hope you feel better soon.
shootthemoon that sounds like it was really scary.

shinjuku09 · 18/03/2015 17:46

Congrats on the scans!
