Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Hopefully will hear of hubby soon havent heard from him since Friday, I am missing him sooo much.. no news is good news in this case...though.

I have posted a third pg post in parenting and pg threads . Cant remember if any of you are 3rd time plus.... did you feel things sooner. I really feel like I have come out of the pelvis, cant breathe in, hurts low down when I cough, if I bend wqhilst sitting this hurts lower tummy area too. My boobs are like water melons with ds I went to a G cup!!!. (am a d/dd normally). I am also a bigger lady size 18. nevermanged to lose all my wieght.. with dd I was a size 10 when fell, size 26 when I had her.. put this down to 8weeks in hospital and steroids, then got to a 14, after ds went to a size 22/24 after got back to a 18)

Polarbeartime · 13/12/2006 23:10

Re: scans - i didn't hear about mine till I was 10wks.

Don't have anything else to say apart from that I'm 12 wks today and only one week till my scan - yay! Sorry hope I didn't make anyone too envious, but on the otherhand a lot of you have had scans already

3flightsofsleighbellsring · 13/12/2006 23:41

Good luck to everyone with scans and well done for coping with pooey nappies/work trauma! Everyone sounds like they're doing pretty well given that so many are floored with MS.

I'm now confused about trimesters. Babycentre says Tri 2 starts at 12 weeks, my most unfavourite pg book Dr Miriam Stoppard says it starts at 13 weeks and my favourite pg book (Up the Duff) says it's at the end of wk 13. So I'm completely flummoxed.

Had a genetics woman from the hosp on the phone today asking me what i would do if my baby turns out to have our dodgy chromosome and if she could write to my GP as she would need her authorisation for a termination. Gone from feeling pretty spritely (is that a word?) to feeling a terrible sense of foreboding. Why did she have to do that?

Myfairone · 14/12/2006 04:50

3flights, the insensitivity of some people never ceases to amaze and astound me! I am so sorry that you are feeling so down (and dont blame you after a phone call like that!)....try and stay positive. She had no right to call and ask you that and get you all worried. PMA! Be thinking of you and dont let the insensitive buggers get to you!

twoplusone · 14/12/2006 09:07

3flights- cant believe that woman was so insesitive sorry you are feeling so bad.

Hope everyone else is ok. i am feeling better after a good nights sleep I am trying to stay positive. My aunty is coming over tommorow for the night with her hubby and baby . The babs is 7 months oold and it will be the first time I have seen her, gives me something to look forward to . Cant wait to cuddle her... Must go and get ready,

Take care all

gingertoo · 14/12/2006 09:41

Hi All Mind if I join you?
I went to doctors on Monday complaining of stomach pains - Doc referred me to hosp for ultra-sound. They found an ovarian cyst (which they think is causing my pain) then she said 'did you know you are pregnant?!!!
Er.....No!!
Bit of a suprise!! Other two kids are 8 and 6!
Pleased though!! DH is thrilled!
Due approx 1/7/07

Bit worried about the cyst though cause it's causing me discomfort. They reckon at hosp it is the size of a satsuma!! They are going to rescan on 29/12 to see if it's gone down.
Anyone any experience of ovarian cyst in pregnancy??

Any tips for how to gently tell my boys that they are going to have a new sibling??!!
x

Hi, I'm new and due on the 13th July. Have been lurking for the past few weeks but haven't posted yet as my posts would consist of "Gosh, I feel really rough, will another pork pie make me feel better?" Looking forward to "chatting" to you all as I start to return to the land of the living though. Bty, I live in SW London and will be having this baby at Queen Charlotte's. Anyone else?

cazzybabs · 14/12/2006 11:57

I went out for work Christmas dinner. Only 2 people went why are you not drinking, do you not drink? I said oh yes I do drink but not at the moment and they went ohhhhh in a knowing way...bugger!!! I am so crap at lying!
But then got back home at 12.30 and found dd1 cuddling the baby sitter with ear ache. So she came into bed with us...cue 2 very tired parents but at least I am now on holiday!

twoplusone · 14/12/2006 12:25

welcome to the newbies..
gingertoo- Ih ad a friend a few years back who had a cyst whilst pg. They had to remove it when she was 5 months as it was getting to big. Both her and the baby were fine through out. The baby was born at term but I think she had to have a section due to op. Hope all is ok. A big congratulations though on your suprise... glad you are thrilled about it.

Cazzybabs- glad you had a good night, atleast you try and lie, I just keep blabbing it out I am crap at keeping things like this quiet. I have done when it is someone else but with all of mine I have told people straight away...

This nausea thing is really starting to get to me now it seems to be getting worse not better. Suppose I sstill have another 2 and a bit weeks before I get to 12 weeks.. hope fully it will start to ease then.

Is anyone panicking about having twins..... I am a bit as hubby kept saying before he went away its twins and so does his dad... They do think DD was a twin at conception but the other never formed.. because of the size of the placenta... I do have natural twins on both sides of the family..... It wouldnt really be that much of an issue.. (she says..

We are already having to get a new car as the one we have has shaped seats in the back so I cant fit two car seats and dd in the middle. I like the look of the Ford s-max Titanium.. will have to see what hubby thinks when he gets back.. but it meets our requirments.. 3seperate seats in the back and two fold dwon seats in the boot. We need to make sure we have a big boot as we have a big dog. It also means a trip back to the uk to seel ours..

I will think about that after xmas something for feb half term I think.

gingertoo · 14/12/2006 12:50

Thanks twoplusone! Good to hear that your friend and baby were ok despite the cyst. I'm trying not to worry - but have decided not to tell anyone about pg until I've had the scan on 29th.

Hi breadandroses! Know what you mean about feeling rough........I only found out about pg on Monday, by Tuesday morning I was being sick and have felt sick constantly since then! I hadn't had a single pg symptom until then!! Still, shouldn't complain, I'm 11wks and have only just started with the sickness........hope it finishes in week 12!!!

Lovely to talk to you all! (especially as me and dh are keeping this to ourselves at mo! He is an absolute treasure - but does not appreciate the finer points of pg!!!)

abgirl · 14/12/2006 13:01

twoplusone luckily we bought a big family car when we had DS, a renault scenic which is great, loads of space. Not sure we'll be able to ever go on holiday again once the baby arrives as the car is normally full to the brim with just the three of us, could be because we go self catering and take everything with us - not entirely sure how people manage to take young children abroad on aeroplanes!! am not really a 'pack light' kind of girl .

Welcome to breadandroses and gingertoo! Will try to remember to include you with the league table tomorrow...

Is anyone else finding that their tummy is suddenly expanding? Seems much earlier than with DS. I am prone to stretch marks and have already started slathering on the bio-oil...

Dophus · 14/12/2006 13:19

Most definitely expanding more rapidly. I'm struggling to keep it hidden at work. Just one more week until my scan.

I keep getting 'growing pains' as well. I don't remember getting these until quite far last time. My stretch marks are already glowing and my boobs are huge. Also really surpirsed to see that if I squeeze my nipple they have kicked into action as well! Tbey did when I was only a few weeks pg.

My X-mas do is tonight. Fortunately I can use the driving excuse.

Miaou · 14/12/2006 13:22

Twoplusone, I'm on baby no. 4 now and definitely feeling things worse this time in terms of morning sickness - it's more intense and started earlier, and knowing my luck will probably last longer too! I keep getting twinges when I stand up/stretch but tbh put that down to the fact that I had my appendix out just before I got pregnant so the scar is still quite fresh. Unlike no. 3 though, I am still not showing (I was finding my trousers were tight by 9 weeks pg) and still got plenty of room in my normal clothes. I am hoping that means I won't be as huge with this baby as I was with ds (no. 3) but I think I'm deluding myself!!

I've also told people I'm pg - I'm rubbish at lying anyway and tbh I look as dreadful as I feel atm so it would be pointless trying to pretend I'm fine!

Welcome to all the newbies - gingertoo I had ds when my dds were 8 and 6. They were absolutely thrilled with him and still are (he is 16 months now). We involved them in the pregnancy right from the start - got books out of the library to explain about conception/pregnancy - and they really bonded with the baby even before he was born. Not read it myself but I have heard this book Mummy Laid an Egg! by Babette Cole recommended a lot on here.

twoplusone · 14/12/2006 13:53

miaou- glad to hear i am not imagining things. my trousers are all been worn under my tummy already. Are your two older ones happy with this pg. my dd (10yrs) wasnt that thrilled, but tbh she wasnt when i was pg with ds she used to leave the room, if anyone talked about it until I got to 24 weeks and found out he was a boy then she was okay.

She did say the other day that she has got used to the idea and a bit excited about having a new baby brother or sister. (though would prefer a brother) as if I have a choice. even she said to me the other day I would really laugh if when you have your scan you are told there are two or three!!! babies there.....

lynneclynne · 14/12/2006 13:55

firststar, the steak pie was lovely,it made me feel a lot better, today its a quarter pounder from Mcdonads
Chooster, how are you??? We havent heard from since Monday, hope you are ok!
Welcome to gingertoo and any other newbies ive missed!
I hope everyone else is well.
Im feeling ok for now,its usually about 4pm i feel terible and got to go to bed, also had terrible lower stomach and back pain

cazzybabs · 14/12/2006 14:06

ARHHHHH I am so fed up with dd1 - dd2 has a nursery show which dtarts in half an hour....but dd1 has been nothing but a pain...wouldn't get dressed, have her hair done, put her shoes on and because am so tired and not in a rush because its not school I havre let her be a monkey and now we are too late to make nursery - so poor dd will miss her big debut (well she is only 2)
