Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

DP is a stubborn git and refuses to change the cat litter for me. He says. "You wanted the cat you change the litter" Honestly at times he sounds like my dad.

So I have to change the litter with gloves and a mask on. I know it must look silly but I not taking the chance.
(must admit I do use the nasal sprays tho for sinuses. Inhalers are absolute p##.)

I'm like the hulk with a blocked nose.

"Don't get me stuffed up. You won't like me when I'm stuffed up"

Firststar so pleased all went well

I had my first mw appt last wednesday where I was a bit of a pin cushion!! MY veins are crap and always collapse so MW gave up and I now have to always go and see practice nurse to take bloods. Oh joy
So seeing nurse tomorrow for bloods and then dating scan on Thursday which I'm so looking forward to cos I still don't really feel pg like the last couple of times very odd

Someone was asking about constipation- Linseed is suppose to be fab for this..maybe I ought to go buy some as I've found my pregnancy tablets have made this a nightmare for me

Haven't been on for ages as DD2 had a chest infection so sleepless nights hit again.

With regards to the new jab I can't even remember what it is now I have read so many mums saying that it has had a very bad effect on their child that I am seriously considering not bothering. My understanding is that it needs to be given before the child is 2yrs and my DD2 will be 2yrs in Feb, always has a cough and not sure as it is a trial the detremental effects?? Any advice would be welcomed.

Good luck all.

snowytyphoonsmum · 12/12/2006 13:06

Oh congrats Firststar.

Glad all went well.

Hope everyones scans go well this week (inc mine - DP still can't go so looks like going with my boss - the nice one not FF)

Do you all have your scans? Ive not even had a date for my scan.

pulapula · 12/12/2006 13:34

I've changed my nickname as mrspf was a bit dull!

Saf1 - my DD (nearly 2) had the new jab last month and no side effects at all. She didn't even cry which was a big relief.

I don't think it has to be given before the age of 2, just that it is being offered to new babies and they had to make a cutoff somewhere. The sister said it had been very successful in the states, and could reduce infections from ear infections to meningitis so worth it I would say. My DD had a lot of ear infections which required anti-biotics when younger, which this would have probably prevented- just a shame its only just been approved here.

Miaou · 12/12/2006 13:35

I haven't got a date for mine yet Liesel - not expecting to get it for until after Christmas now.

pulapula · 12/12/2006 13:38

As we're talking about scan dates, I had an early scan at 8 weeks (lovely to see heartbeat) and my 12 week scan is next Thursday 21 Dec at 8.30am.

I am a bit nervous as some friends went for their 12 week scan to see a baby but no heart-beat.

My waistline is expanding though which is a good sign I guess that something is growing, but guess it could just be my stomach as my craving for all things fruit and veg has been replaced with cravings for buttery toast, crisps, biscuits and sweets!

snowytyphoonsmum · 12/12/2006 13:40

Scan is on Thursday at 13.30

DP works on a construction site which is nearly complete. At the moment he is doing something called "snagging". The clients that have moved into the flats report anything wrong and he and the remaining workers fix the problems b4 the clients return from work.
There are only three members of staff left at the site. Him, the boss and another bloke. The other bloke was involved in a bad car accident in the summer and shouldn't really be in work (but is stubborn) so he is on office duties and the boss is doing boss stuff. So DP is left to do the snagging and says he can't take time (unpaid) off to come to the scan.
I understand his reasons but I still think he could get the time off if he asked.

End of Rant

Ladies,im back!!
All seemed well, baby is growing as it should with a very strong heartbeat, however they did see a tiny tiny bloodclot,as soon as i hear that word i just want to cry after last mc, however they dont seem as worried as i am as its not affecting babies growth, so hopefully it stays that way!
Havent been around the last couple of days as i have tossed and turned the last two nights, hopefully with the scan over,i'll sleep tonight.
They said im 7weeks4 instead of 7weeks1 so thats even better! Although the last two days i have felt terrible, feeling so sick, tiered and freezing! Im not complaining though!
I hope everyone is else is well, and goodluck with the scans! I have a notion for greggs cheese n onion pasties so im off to greggs now.
Take care everyone.

although scan isn't till thursday I couldn't get to sleep last night. kept tossing and turning and drifting in and out of sleep. It is playing on my mind all the time.
Might get one tomorrow to put my mind at ease and go to the booking in scan on thursday pre armed.
I've waited so long now I think I could do another day. (DP thinks he'll get his marital rights back after the scan. We'll see)

snowytyphoonsmum · 12/12/2006 15:15

Sorry Congrats on good scan Lynneclynne.

The blood clot could be nothing. At times I wish they wouldn't mention things like that at scans. Last scan I had (2nd mc) the sonographer said that all she could see in the womb was a fibroid. For weeks I had horrible visions of fibriods covering my uterus and stopping me ever getting pg again

Typhoonsmum,i agree with firstar,if you can get an earlier scan do it,it will put your mind at ease.I know i havent slept the last two nights due to being so worried about the scan,my next scan is 18th Jan so im hoping and praying that clot has disappeared!
Goodluck with the scans this week!

Hello Ladies - can I join in? I have just been introduced to Mumsnet by a friend and have spent the last couple of days seeing what it's all about - looks like a great support network! According to the charts my edd is 9 July 2007, so I am 10+2 (I think!). I have just found out that my local health authority does a nuchal scan as normal, but as they are so busy, I may not have this until week 14/15. I had read that the nuchal scan is only accurate when done at 11 - 13 weeks, so I'm not sure whether to book a private one for week 12. Does anyone have any information on this? I'm 34 so keen to get this done.

It's my work Xmas party tonight - think I may only last an hour as my ms seems to kick in around 4pm and lasts until I go to sleep!

Anyway, good to meet you all and keep up the good work!

JennStarOfWonder · 12/12/2006 17:29

Hi Catstar and welcome.

Talking of not sleeping I've had some weird dreams (radio active christmas trees etc) and last night a horrible one about mc (won't go into details). Hope everybody's scans go ok and they get some quality sleep.

giulia68 · 12/12/2006 18:21

Lynne that is brilliant news - well done, hopefully this will make you feel less anxious.
Hello everyone. I am feeling so nauseous all I want to do is not get up. Unfortunately this is not possible. Don't feel I have much to add right now but really thrilled everyone is doing well and welcome to catstar x

Gingerbics · 12/12/2006 18:38

Welcome Catstar!

Firststar and Lynne so so pleased for you both, what a relief eh! All that positive thinking and 'having words' paid off then. Well done x

abgirl · 12/12/2006 19:30

Hello All, have been off for a few days at London meetings and too knackered to do anything once I got home so have been trying to catch up this evening.

Congrats on your scans firststar and lynneclynne.

Welcome to the thread Catstar. During my scan last week I spoke to a midwife who said that 14 weeks is too late for nuchal fold test, but rather than going private I woud ring your local ante-natal climic and see if they can squeeze you in any when.

Those of you who were discussing nuts, I've spoken to my mw about this - she said the current advice is that most nuts are fine (and in fact very nutritious) but you should avoid peanuts if you or your partner have a history of asthma or eczema. The advice given about no nuts before was to see if this had any effect on the rise in nut allergies but it has now been decided that the rise is probably due to the use of almond oil in body lotions and creams.
