Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Well done to everyone with lovely heartbeats, good luck to everyone else with bleeds and pain. Sticky baby dust in all directions.
Just caught up on all the posts and all I can remember is TM's mop up (that's green with sickness not envy!) and welcome to luckylady, waffle away !

Anyone have any advice for blocked sinuses? Not allowed sinutab/sudafed or anything useful, have been given Olbas oil by the pharmasist and vicks which have zero effect, even doing the steam inhalation thingy. My head is caving in and I can't breathe! Any suggestions? And we can take paracetamol can't we?

Lovely weekend to everyone xxx

luckylady · 09/12/2006 10:16

Dorisofdevon- I was born in Gib!!.
With my DS I had to go private for a 12 week scan as they didnt do them as standard in Blandford. I think we paid about £180. That was 3 years ago.

I cant wait to start showing properly instead of just feeling bloated and fatter than I already am!!.

jenstarofwonder-you never know the consultant may want to section me....lol.
My midwife has reffered me to the cpn (mental health nurse) as I suffer from depression on and off, things are low at mo but I think it is more to do with everything going on.... I even got were my hubby is wrong he is in Afghanstan but the place he is sounds like Iraq!!! my God I am cracking up big style.....

Take care speak soon

typhoonsmum · 09/12/2006 11:00

I suffer from blocked sinuses all the time and find that the sinex sprays work but we can't use them now.
I am stuck with Vicks inhalers and olbas oil inhalers. They give me two seconds relief then I'm all stuffed up again.
I HATE IT.

beartime · 09/12/2006 19:19

I can't remember who was deciding on london or Scotland, but that's a good reason for Scotland - my mum's asthma has got so much better since moving up there.

Hi Luckylady! Feel so sorry for you having all that commotion in your life and then DH being gone, and to Iraq. Does he specialise in anything in the army?

I keep having this craving for sweet and fruity - i.e. jelly tots, midget gems, fruit pastilles! And my bump is looking so big even tho' only 11 weeks - tho DH said I looked skinnier this morning (huh?)

Luckylady- we're all here for you, and as for Iraq and afghanistan much of a muchness I would say, roll on when your dh gets home, a few of "my girls" are over there for Christmas as well,(Navy girls) and I do sympathise.
It's not easy looking after your ds and yourself take all the help you can get

Kyte good to hear from you- loads of newbies, scans with heartbeats and oh....... blocked sinuses for some reason????

only thing that I can think of that might help to unblock would be a plunger but that would be infering alot about the size of other peoples nostrils and I'm not that brave

Seriously hot steamy baths might help If not at least you'll have had a rest

Night to all done to much today and now need my bed XX

3flightsofstairs · 10/12/2006 03:41

it's 3.30 in the morning, DS has just woken me up and now my sinus is completely blocked and I can't get back to sleep - aaargh! I called NHS direct yesterday (at 4am!) and by the time the nurse and then the duty doc had called me back it was 7.30. And she said there was nothing that I could do that I wasn't already doing until my 2nd trimester! WTF?!!!!! But this is SORE (This is what out toddlers will sound like in 3 years' time, I'm just giving you some early practise...)

Sorry but this is the most painful thing that I've ever not been able to do anything about! And she also said go easy with the Olbas Oil as it can do stuff to your membranes too. Boohoo. Roll on scary chromosome test, let's be having you! I'm just going to check whether 2nd trimester starts in wk 12 or 13. I have time to spare!

3flightsofsleighbellsring · 10/12/2006 04:06

woo. 6 days to go to my 2nd trimester! I can surely last 6 days with virtually no sleep! Hope all's well with little lentil and I haven't done something awful with my overenthusiastic snorting of Olbas Oil. Baby might come out smelling of menthol Hope you're coping too TM and that your head's not about to explode with the pressure.
Just changed my name - what do you think? It's the best I can think of under the circumstances!

3flightsofsleighbellsring · 10/12/2006 05:03

ah ha! The mist has cleared slightly - after 2 cups of honey and lemon and some muffled nose honking. Should have been writing my Christmas cards now I think about it...
Sleeping round 2. Dingding!
Tired? Waffling? Pregnant? Moi?

3flightsofsleighbellsring · 10/12/2006 05:09

sorry, me again - on a slightly more pg vein... I got a letter from my NHS trust this week about going to an appt in Feb (they're not known for their forward planning so even more surprising!) with a consultant MW to talk about "method of delivery for this pg" given my first was a CS. Anyone else?

Really going now...

snowytyphoonsmum · 10/12/2006 09:17

This is where I feel SOO left out. 3 flights talking of second trimesters and I'm only just settling into the first (seven weeks on monday)

Ms is getting worse. Actually bourking now. (am very rarely sick)

Going to attempt putting the tree up today. It is a great bribery tool for DD. She'll do anything I ask under the threat that the tree won't go up if she doesn't
(If the tree isn't up then Santa won't know where to drop her presents off - Cruel I know)

This is the best Christmas name I could think off.

BrandyTutter · 10/12/2006 13:21

hello all and welcome to newbies

have been awol as moved house this week. knackering at the best of times, but when you're up the duff, truly exhausting. all but 2 of the approx 80 boxes of gubbins have been unpacked so nearly there

dh making a sunday roast - ILs here- i'm lurking here as i feel too darned pukey to make idle family chit chat

ds's little lamp was knackered by the removal men - anyone know where i might get a replacement for this kind of thing?

3flightsofsleighbellsring · 10/12/2006 16:09

Just read my early morning posts - looks like I'd hit the vodka - sorry. If it's any consolation TM, I feel terrible and DH is leaving for the week now so it'll be me and DS. Not sure how I'm going to manage...

lynneclynne · 10/12/2006 16:33

I hope you have all had a nice weekend!

glittercaz · 10/12/2006 16:51

hello all!

i'm a fellow due in july-er and must admit i've been lurking on here but not posting yet! however, felt obliged to join in and say howdy, esp after seeing your last post, lynnclyne. just to reassure you i got myself in a total state when my symptoms change but after doing some research (and posting on mumsnet - see my thread 'do symptoms fluctuate through early pregnancy?') I feel massively reassured that symptoms do indeed come and go. yes, i have also read that symptoms suddenly stopping can be a bad sign - but if you aren't having cramps or heavy bleeding (and considering that missed miscarriage is relatively rare), the liklihood is a fluctuation is just that and nothing to worry about! I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry! xxxx

snowytyphoonsmum · 10/12/2006 17:53

My scan is on Thursday. 13:30 I'M SCARED.

What if it is twins after all. (not feeling sick enuf for that tho)

lynneclynne · 10/12/2006 19:01

glittercaz, thanks for that, and welcome! It can be a tricky one, especially as i have mc prev with no signs what so ever, apart from a tiny bit of pink show, sore boobs and ms contined! I just cant wait till tuesd.
I will take a look at your thread, thanks again, hope you are keeping well.
Snowy, good luck with your scan, its horrible having to go through all this worry, isnt it???
Hope everyone else is well x

ChristmasCakehead · 10/12/2006 20:06

Had a bit of a luxury weekend. Stayed a v. posh London hotel for the night, for birthday occasion (not mine!) and thought I'd go to posh underwear shop for new maternity bra. When I showed the woman the one I was currently wearing, she just fell about laughing, but in a nice way. I've been squeezing my Christmas puddings in, put it like that. She fitted me up with a much better bra and then forbade me from putting my old bra back on. Just the joy of those straps not cutting in anymore... Bliss.

luckylady · 10/12/2006 20:06

Hi all,

DO you think we xhould start a new thread orare we going for the longest ever. With my last pg (2004 our june 04 ante natal threads probably came to 800 posts in the 9 months!!!.

I to dont really feel pregnant yet, a bit of nausia but I never do, just hoping everything is ok I always panic until I see the babs on the first scan. My scan will be 2nd Jan. I am going to ask for transport to the hospital as I have no idea where it is, and dont fancy driving it on my own with the two children. I am also not looking forward to doing it on my own would much rather have my DH with me. I am missing him sooo much.

I have also got to find directions to the airport I told my dad to fly into Dusseldorf as everyone said it is really easy just down the motorway and 30 mins away. what no one told me was that there are two dusseldorf airports, my dad is flying into the one that is an hour away and all on back roads!!!! he flys in on the 22nd with one of my brothers then my other brother and his girlfriend fly in thenext morning, they then go back on the 26th, and my dad goes back on the 27th. I think I will be very busy, just hope they all help whilst here as what with all the driving, the kids and four more people in the house, oh and walking the dog!!. So much for relaxing in early pregnancy.

I just feel so lonely and exhausted, as my DS can be quoite a challange some days, he is always full of mischief, and not a good sleeper. I am trying to crack down on him so he knows what he can and cant do, but sometimes I am just too tired and down. I know that isnt an excuse, but he is worse since daddy went away.....

I will get there in the end sorry for whinging, just feel like everything is a chore at the moment. Atleast my dad will be here for xmas. But I have New years and my bday to face on my own!!! A few tears then I think!!! Some days I just really fancy having a nice drink, or two!!.. Only 7-8months to wait till I can...

brandytutter- well done on your unpacking.

i just have the bedrooms to finish but I am waiting for four big boxes to be delivered with my coat hangers and odds and sodds in, but i keep getting told there is no transport for them to get them to me, I cant collect them as they are all 1m1m1m and quite heavy.... The tores have only had the 3.5weeks.... watch them drop them off christmas week.

Bye for now take care

dorisofdevon · 10/12/2006 20:56

weird images of christmas puddings stuffed down your top cakehead

Hope everyones ok to all those that have moved are are just about to my symapthies.....finally collected my last lot of stuff from my parents this weekend this is the first time in 5 years?? that everything I own has been under one roof!!!!!

Still feeling rubbish felt better on Friday and thought I had turned a corner but rubbish since then so back to the docs this week Am def going top go for private 12 week scan now spoke with my sister who told me story of friend who at 20 week scan had problems ( and major heartache)so now no longer prepared to accept CRAPOLA local NHS scan service!

keiralou · 10/12/2006 21:11

Loved the bra story cakehead! Reminds of last time I was pg - midwife was an ex-bra fitter and she was appalled with the bra i was wearing - blooming cheek!

Good luck to all of you having bleeding or other worries. My only on-going worry is that it's all in my imagination. As with my last pg, I don't really get any symptoms - just tiredness. Today though I've got a really bad taste in my mouth - not exactly metallic but kind of and looking in my books that seems to be normal - anyoune else got it? Am chewing wrigleys like no- ones business but it's still there.

On the up front have got a date for a nuchal scan on 4th Jan. will tell boss the day before that I'll be in late. Ha ha, don't want to ruin his Christmas!

lynneclynne · 10/12/2006 22:05

keiralou, i too have had a horrible taste in my mouth today, mines isnt metalic either, cant quite describe this one!

Luckylady, im so happy your dad and family will be visting you soon, it must be very difficult wth dh away.

Hope everyone else is keeping ok.

cazzybabs · 10/12/2006 22:21

I too have had a lazy day much to dh's disgust. I remember him like this last time. Oh how I wish for a more understanding husband not one who says come on out of bed, come on - god during pregnancy he turns into some kind of sergent major! Anwyay I winged it and got to stay in bed till 1pm....sadly not asleep as the dds keep showing me things etc.

hope everyone else is OK. Anyone else planning to have a 4d "bondong" scan?

luckylady · 11/12/2006 07:01

Cazzybabs- well done on your lazy day.

I was woke up this morning to my son emptying a brand new bottle of head and shoulders all over the landing carpet and himself, a nice job to clean up. I nkow it was my fault for leaving the bag on the floor instead of putting the stuff away.
DS is terrible for things like this, if i leave ihim on his own he gets into mischief. I was putting dd new bed together the other week and ds was playing, I could here him laughing when I came down stairs he had got into the fridge, took out the ketchup and proceeded to decorate all the carpets down stairs, my brand new rug and my dog!!!!!.

Chooster · 11/12/2006 09:12

Hi everyone

Luckylady - v glad you've got family coming over for xmas - they'll be able to keep your DS occupied and out of mischief. I think you said you DS was 2? My DS is 2.7yrs and is a little tinker too! He just loves making a mess. And, although its not the same, you can always pop on here for a chat if you are feeling lonely. Even in the wee hours of the morning, you may find 3flights lurking around - That sounds rotten 3flights, but at least you are on the verge of the 2nd trimester!

Hi LynneClynne - At least you've only got a day to wait now until your scan, I hope it goes well for you and you come out feeling nice and relaxed . Mine is on Wednesday at 10am and I'm trying not to think about it really. I just really hope I can still qualify to come on here on Thursday as my little bean has a 25% chance of having a fatal genetic condition. I try to think positively but I don't want to get too carried away... If you remember keep your fingers crossed.

Doris - If it were me I'd pay for the private scan - its crap that you can't get one as standard, but I think its worth the money.

Hope everyone else is doing well - welcome back Kyte - glad to hear all is well!
