Hello All

Hope I am correct in beginning a thread for July 07. BFP today (23rd October) and EDD 2nd July 07.

By way of a brief introduction; live in the South West, work part-time, have DD aged 5 and DS who is almost 3. Have been incredibly lucky this time as made decision to try for third and hey presto seem to have achieved it on first attempt (much to DH disappointment if you know what I mean!!).

Look forward to 'meeting' you and sharing this amazing experience with you.

Dp has been promising to sort laundry in the bedroom since 6pm. He is currently flicking thru the sports channels, in the living room. Told him I'm tired and want to go to sleep he says "How can you be tired you have had a day off" Told him pg makes me tired he says (jokingly)that being pg is "a piece of piss".
Nearly punched him but that would have took the last bit of energy I have left. Just for one week I wish he could feel shattered even tho he has napped on the couch in the afternoon. Not be able to finish a meal as after two mouthfuls you go completely off whatever it was. Wake up in the morning and feel like you spent the last night drinking three bottles of wine and can't stomach anything to eat only for it to wear off at about 11am and then you feel you could eat a scabby horse. Run to the loo every half an hour and have to stay sober on nights out.

I HATE MEN!

snowytyphoonsmum · 12/12/2006 20:38

Oh sorry

Welcome catstar

justbeme · 12/12/2006 22:22

I was wondering if any of your men seem clueless about pg. I was asked what the matter with me was tonight "its my hormones" i shouted - to which he replied - "oh god dont tell me ive got another 7 mths of this" !!!!
and when i say "i feel sick" - ive lost count of the number of times he says "why?"
Is there any simple info anywhere that first time dads can read up on (mind you he hates reading)...........

hi catstar and welcome. i've ben told the nuchal scan should be done between 11.5 and 13.5 weeks. i don't get one on the nhs but as i'll be 36 in a couple of weeks i'm arranging a private one. £100 is nothing for peace of mind.

ChristmasCakehead · 13/12/2006 12:12

Glad to hear the scans are going well. Chooster, am keeping everything crossed for you. Mine's tomorrow. Have just received a flurry of Christmas cards from relatives that make it quite clear my mum has told everyone and everybody. So fingers crossed is OK tomorrow. Keep being paranoid that I'm feeling much less sick than with DD and perhaps something is not right...
Thanks for nut info! And oddly enough, in the paper yesterday they said that mums who didn't eat nuts had a higher chance of having babies with allergies.
Honestly. It changes like the weather, doesn't it?!

lynneclynne · 13/12/2006 13:05

Hi ladies, hope you are all well!
Chooster, everythings crossed for today,Cakehead same with yourself for tomorrow and anyone else who has scans this week!
Hi to catstar and welcome!
LOL @ justbeme and typoonsmum dh!!! I did get a strange look from dh when he didnt get his dinner until 7.30pm last night due to me being ill and being sick at the sight of any food!!! Just cant handle seeing food after 4pm,today had to ask a kind lady in a cafe if she would make me steak pie and chips at 11o'clock this morning
after explaining to her i was pg she very kindly did soand now feel so much better after it!
Had to hand in urine sample to gp as there was traces of blood in urine yesterday,so she wants to get it checked out, went straight to work and only lasted an hour due to feeling terrible and weak,so just settled for leaving early and eating steak pie and chips
I hope everyones well!

bubble78 · 13/12/2006 13:18

hi i am 8+3 weeks today when do you think i will get my scan date through?????

just wondering if it will come soon or will it come after christam scan should be around mid jan??

hope all feeling ok and ms passing for most

ChristmasCakehead · 13/12/2006 13:31

I got my scan date within a week of telling my doctor I was pregnant, but I think they're pretty fast here. Should be round about now, though, surely? I'd chase if you've not heard soon. But then I'm hugely impatient and demanding!

lynneclynne · 13/12/2006 13:39

bubble78,its usually 12 weeks they scan here, however i did get an early one due to prev mc, think if there has been complications of any kind they do tend to scan early on, thats how they do it here in Scotland, not syre where you are.Hope you are keeping well.

bubble78 · 13/12/2006 13:43

hi yes im impatient to cakehead

lynne i live in northwest england and they are 12 week scans here too i just thought i would have had the date for it through by now

maybe its stuck in xmas post

lynneclynne · 13/12/2006 13:47

Think you should have Bubble,im 7weeks5 and i have had my 12 weeks scan in for over a week now,it may be worth checking with gp just incase!

Miaou · 13/12/2006 13:55

Hello folks. Morning sickness is still laying me low - I have my nephew's first birthday present here which I should have sent off last week but I just can't make it to the post office! I am also dog-tired all the time. I am very fortunate though that my dh understands totally about the physical effects of pregnancy - does all the cooking, doesn't make me eat if I can't face it, and looks after the dcs when I am wiped out! Stubbornly I am still changing ds's dirty nappies even though it inevitably leads to a dash to the loo - I kinda feel I've got to do something to justify my existence!

To those whose dh's don't get it, I would suggest doing something that another mumsnetter recommended when her dp was being less than helpful/understanding: She used to send him emails at work with excerpts from a pregnancy progress site (eg babycentre ), highlighting bits such as how exhausted/sick it makes you feel, how much harder your heart has to work, etc. Maybe worth a try!

Myfairone · 13/12/2006 14:08

Hi Ladies, Nice to see that the scans are coming in and going well. I called my GP who told me that I need to sit and wait patiently for my scan letter! How on earth can they expect patience at a time like this!? I am 7wks4 and would have thought I would have heard something from someone by now!

Im also desperately trying to find out if my hospital does the nuchal fold scan but sadly the line just rings and rings!

Hope everyone is feeling well...I'm still feeling nauseous for most of the day! hey ho! no complaints though.

Have a good one

Myfairone · 13/12/2006 14:12

Miaou, I totally sympathise! I feel totally exhausted and have tried my best to explain it to my DH. I too resorted to sending excerts from a website and also leaving my book open at just the right page....he seems to have picked up the hint and is doing more for me! Thank heavens!

I think your a very good girl for changing nappies! Not sure I could manage that right now! Well done girl!

twoplusone · 13/12/2006 15:07

Hi welcome, catstar.

Glad to here scans are going well for eveyone.

Had sickness bug yesterday which had knocked me for six espeacially with no help with the kids. Still feel really nauseous (sp) today not sure if it is ms or the bug!! I think a bit of both.. Never suffered with the other two pgs. I want my scan date to come, then I will be able to see babs and will only have amonth left till dh comes home.

I felt that bad yestersay I sat and cried most of the time inbetween being sick, I was very close to phoning the welfare up and telling them to get my husband home NOW... I would have been told to wind my neck in though....

Listen to me as if I am the only one whos husband in Afghan!!!

Anyway must go housework , tea and ironing to do tonight...

Take care

Myfairone · 13/12/2006 15:11

Twoplusone, give yourself some credit. You are coping with ms, plus a sicky bug, plus 2 kids and a DH who is away from home! I think you have every right to sit and feel sorry for yourself!

Well done for coping and I hope you are having a much better day today! Chin up girl! Big hugs

abgirl · 13/12/2006 15:57

Myfairone, in my local area you only get one week's notice of when your scan is - probably not what you want to hear but just to let you know that with DS I didn't hear about scan until 11 weeks and had it when I was 12 weeks.

bubble78 · 13/12/2006 16:00

myfairone im 8+3 weeks and i too not heard about scan and like you im sat tapping my finger untill posty arrives

hope we both hear soon

Myfairone · 13/12/2006 16:29

Well at least I feel better now knowing I'm not the only one anxiously waiting for it. I feel like its going to be a real milestone for me and may in some small way stop me worrying myself silly! yeah, some chance right?!

snowytyphoonsmum · 13/12/2006 19:09

Didn't have a scan today. Thought i'll hold out till tomorrow. I've waited so far.

MS was bad today. Actually borked for a few hours instead of just a feeling of nausea. Hoping it has settled for a few hours so i can eat dinner.

Going to work tomorrow as normal and just nipping downstairs for the scan and then back to work. I'd prefer it that way. Something to keep my mind busy in the morning

twoplusone · 13/12/2006 19:16

Snowytyphonnsmum- goodluck for your scan tommorrow. I am so jealous wish I was having mine before xmas.

earlyriser · 13/12/2006 20:30

Hello, gosh, been away for a few days (being spoiled by my parents, well dd being spoiled while i get to put my feet up which is just as good )and can barely keep up with newcomers, name changes and everything going on! So happy everything went well with the scan firststar, you've given me hope. I've had a bit more bleeding today so went to the doc who has booked me in for an early scan on fri. i've all but convinced myself that i've had a missed mc as i have no pg symptoms at all, so am nervous about the scan but will be relieved to know either way and not have to keep worrying over christmas.
Twoplusone i really feel for you, my dp has been away for 3 weeks (back on sat hurrah) and i'm feeling the strain with one lo, you must be v strong to cope with 2 and for such a long time too.
Good luck to all others facing scans and tests.

twoplusone · 13/12/2006 20:32

I think I have morning sickness, aggrivated by MEAT!!..
Went for a cooked breakfast at lunch timew couldnt eat sausage and bacon, then tonight cooked a chicken breast with roast pots veg and yorkshire puds was fine eating everything other than the chicken!!. As soon as I ate the chicken i had to run from the table pawking..(sp)

earlyriser · 13/12/2006 20:46

saf1 just read your post re new jabs, do you mean the (dep breath) pneumoccocal vaccine? My dd had hers a couple of weeks ago (just over 13mon) and tbh she has been a nightmare since. Don't know if it was the jab itself or something she picked up at the surgery but she has had THE worst cold and lots of sleepless nights. Went to the doc on mon and he prescribed antibiotics which seemed to have helped (said there was a bacterial infection)but i wouldn't wish that on anyone.
