It's me... I can't believe I get to start this!

I'm due 2nd Jan 2005... Actually AF is not due for 4 days(!!) but have done 3 tests and all positive. I am only 11 days pregnant.

It's a bit lonely here on my own, I hope there will be lots of you joining me soon, especially from 'ttc thread 6'.

Here's a baby namer that I like. The categories are more interesting than just Boy and Girl.

bunny2 · 12/05/2004 17:46

Smelly, just aught up with your news. Congratulations on twins, I hope it all goes really well for you.

Jimjams · 12/05/2004 23:04

And the news gets better. Just realised mobility has been awarded for 5 years so we will be able to get a MPV motability car- so its not going to cost us anything (well only the mobility which we haven't been receiving before today anyway). Hooray I was worrying how we were going to afford that. Means that ds1 can sit seperately and ds2 and baby won't be attacked when we get stuck in traffic. Apparently it takes about a month to sort out. Fantastic. You even get to choose the colour car.

Off to see the doctor on Monday to book in.

smellymelly, just popping in to say congrats on the twins! looks like you are going to have a busy year (and a bit). Hope all goes well for you

Wid · 15/05/2004 01:25

Hi, can I join you? I tested on Thursday and it was positive, but I'm intending to test again in the morning to make sure. Have just put my LMP date into a couple of calculators and they come up with January 10 or 12. I did post on the TTC thread many months ago, but gave up after a while as I was becoming very disheartened. But, one year and one cycle of Clomid later, here I am - hopefully, 5 weeks pregnant with no.2!

cab · 15/05/2004 01:44

Congratulations Wid on your positive and Jimjams on the mobility allowance. Tex - I love the name Finlay for a boy. Ref Maud - do you live in Texas? Smelly, hope the sickness hasn't been too bad today.
Think I may have either messed up on my dates or come onto this thread under false pretences. Been playing ping pong with postive and negative pregnancy tests over the weekend. It's driving me demented as is feeling truly dreadful - but only in evenings. (Never been sick!). Oh well, time will tell.
Hope all is well with everyone else.

Tex111 · 15/05/2004 11:52

Jimjams, congrats on the mobility allowance. I'm sure that'll make life much easier.

Wid, congratulations and welcome to the group!

Cab, I've lived in England for more than ten years (DH is English) but I'm originally from Texas and all of my family are still there. We really have to test out names both here and there for pronunciation and any negative associations. I'm sure I'll be posting a list of names on MN and asking for feedback! DH is useless. He likes names like Thelma and Humphrey. Humphrey isn't so bad to me but people always seem to laugh when I mention it. It sounds like you're getting some confusing info with those pregnancy tests! Have you seen your doc yet? Maybe they can help you. I always thought that a false positive was virtually impossible so you must be producing pregnancy hormones. Hope you get some answers soon!

Tex111 · 15/05/2004 11:54

Oh yes, forgot to ask if anyone else is watching the C-section on Channel 5 tonight??? I'm going to put it on but I might not be able to watch the whole thing. I had a section last time so I'm interested to see what actually happened.

BigBird · 15/05/2004 12:42

Congrats Wid - what age is your first ?

smellymelly · 15/05/2004 14:46

Well Done Wid! How wonderful after trying for so long

Thanks for all your congratulations.
BigBird - my DS was 3 in January, so will be 4 the week after my EDD.

cab · 15/05/2004 21:53

Hope everyone's doing fine today.
Tex on Humphrey - name always reminds me of Mr Humphrey from 'Are you being served' - very old tv programme with effette (sp) selling assistant. Ask your husband about it if you haven't seen it.
Don't have C5 here so can't watch tonight.
Seeing doc tomorrow.

smellymelly · 16/05/2004 13:51

2 Heartbeats !!!! WOW it never fails to amaze me... Heartbeats at only 6 weeks.

Wid · 16/05/2004 13:58

SmellyMelly - why were you sent so early to test for twins? I'm just wondering because with my becoming pregnant with Clomid, there's an increased possibility of twins.

smellymelly · 16/05/2004 14:09

Because I had an ectopic in Nov 03 which ruptured and I lost a tube etc. They were not looking for 2, only to make sure I had one in my uterus this time!
And we all got a little shock, but to be honest I kinda knew it was twins, I even posted that on the ttc6 thread. As I tested positive 5 days before af was due, and I have been very sick from only 4 weeks!

It would be great if you were too, well for me anyway, then we could really follow our pregnancies together!!

Toothache · 16/05/2004 14:25

Smellymelly - 2 heartbeats... so it's all confirmed then. Wow... I'm very excited for you!!!

cab · 16/05/2004 15:51

Smelly CONGRATULATIONS

bluestar · 16/05/2004 16:52

smellymelly, that's great news! double the trouble, double the joy!

BigBird · 16/05/2004 19:36

ah smellymelly - thats fantastic. It's great to know that so far everything is Ok also.

Wid · 16/05/2004 19:53

Smelly - I'm 5 weeks pregnant but don't have the sickness you've had - mild queasiness so far. I'm seeing the GP on Friday, but the consultant's secretary said that I would be referred for an early appointment as I "might need injections"?! I think this is to do with my progesterone deficiency. Also, I guess if you've been on Clomid, they want to check for multiple births. I think it'll be a while though, before I know.

Tex111 · 16/05/2004 20:20

Congrats smelly! That must've been an incredible moment!

Tex111 · 19/05/2004 11:17

Where is everyone? Are we all entering the nausea phase and can't bear to look at the computer screen?

A friend gave me some sea bands for the nausea and they do seem to help but I think it's just because they're so uncomfortable they distract me from the nausea! We're off to the States for a few weeks tomorrow and I'm hoping the flight will be OK. I'll be taking a lot of dry biscuits and my preggie pops just in case.

I'll try to check in while we're away. Hope everyone is feeling OK!

BigBird · 19/05/2004 12:36

just started with a little bit of nausea this morning and dd didn't help with a v. stinky nappy just before we left the house - yuk.
I think i'll have to start with the crackers in bed !
Is anyone else feeling quite uncomfortable in their middle ? I can't really bend over too much - have to keep leaning back at my desk at work..
Hope everyone is doing well.

cab · 19/05/2004 12:56

Didn't want to spoil smelly's good news - but things didn't work out here. Oh well. Will keep an eye out for you all. Best of luck.

Toothache · 19/05/2004 12:59

Cab - Just popping in to say I hope you are okay. What happened? (if you're up for talking about it).
