Eew yes Sauv didn't even realise it was until you mentioned it but the thought of pancakes does make me feel sick.

Loves what a shame. Sorry to hear that. It'll soon roll round though I'm sure. Nope no twins in family...and I'm not sure I'd choose to have them either!

SpamAnderson · 17/02/2015 10:31

Ha ha sauv I am drooling at the thought of pancakes drenched in lemon juice nom nom nom! I know, we are very lucky. I always think about pain relief during labour, especially watching OBEM and such, and think, women in undeveloped countries etc do it pain relief free and have no choice!
I'll be 12+4 at my scan :) I'm 10+1 now so only 17 days left until I see Little Jimmy again :) So excited!

StrawberryCheese · 17/02/2015 10:32

Morning! So who's having pancakes today? Or should that be, who can stomach them?

We are having crepes with mozzarella, tomato and pesto followed by American pancakes with maple syrup and bananas. Perhaps a bit overkill but I don't care. My diet has been so bland and boring lately Grin

My sense of smell is ridiculous today. I was woken up by the smell of shoe polish as DH was in the kitchen polishing his work shoes. Now that I'm in the office all I can smell is the compost from the plants 5 desks away. Thank goodness there were no fragrant people on the bus!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 17/02/2015 10:33

I can't wait for pancakes! Woohoo! My personal record is 27 (crepes, not scotch/american) but my stomach seems to have shrunk so I think this may be a single figures day Sad

StrawberryCheese · 17/02/2015 10:35

Sorry, cross posted with pancake hating people. Hope I didn't make you feel worse!

Treaclepie19 · 17/02/2015 11:37

I had pancakes! Well... 1 and a bit.
Normally I'd have many more!

Ive lost weight lalunya, only 3 lb but to look at my stomach I'd say I'd put on 5lb.

OP posts:
SpamAnderson · 17/02/2015 11:44

I've lost weight lalunya I gained 4lbs in my first trimester with dd1 & 2 but this time I have lost 11lbs so far. I'm eating as normal, maybe a bit less than normal as I'm getting full super quick. I have been a massive pig the last 3 days, think mcdonalds, burger king, sweets, chocolate, lots of peanut butter, starbucks etc and I've lost another 1/2 lb :/ I swear it's a boy and his hormones are levelling mine out a bit or something? My goal is to keep losing or at least not gain through the rest of this pregnancy as I know how hard it is to lose preggy weight afterwards. But I am so eating my weight in pancakes and sugar later :D

lovesmycake · 17/02/2015 11:57

Yes, I know it will be next monday before I know it! This morning was definitely not me at my most rational (bloody hormones!)

I'm in the pro pancake camp :) just the right amount of carbs and lovely sour lemon to be appetizing to me at the moment.

NatalieBee · 17/02/2015 13:08

I am 100% in the pancake club! Literally cannot wait till my hubby comes home to make me some! I cannot cook for the life of me and he's a chef Grin

Have we all had any more thoughts on a closed private facebook group? Or are we holding off? Smile I'm easy either way! Just thought I would test the water Wink

Jessica32 · 17/02/2015 13:09

Sauv I couldn't agree more rd the NHS!
My mum and sister are nurses, dad was, and brother in law is a paramedic. I am one of the rare people who would happily pay a bit more tax to save it and help it work better. Sadly it is being privatised through the back door. All the district nursing in Bristol already is and most people don't realise. I heard someone describe the NHS as the best and most important war memorial we have and I agree. After all, it came about after working people fought and died for their country and then realised it wasn't giving them anything back.
As a nation we should definitely be proud of it and fight to keep it. Sorry, end of rant!!Grin

gicharlie17 · 17/02/2015 13:10

DH and I are on cloud 9 today! Booking appt with midwife yesterday who was so was lovely. She used a Doppler to listen to the heartbeat which was incredible. First scan this morning. Dates were perfect 11+6 today. Everything is fine, one bean all present and correct. One cyst too but the hospital didn't seem bothered. 5 lovely scan pics to finally show friends and family as we've not told anyone yet. Can't wait to tell Mum and sister. I predict they will cry and be over the moon. It's finally becoming real! x

Jessica32 · 17/02/2015 13:11

Oh, and I've put on 2 and a half kilos, currently 8+5CakeBiscuitWink

NatalieBee · 17/02/2015 13:12

Jessica I'm in my last few months of my nursing degree to be a qualified nurse and you wouldn't believe the changes I've seen over the last 3 years!! My hubby's had a kidney transplant and had dialysis for years before that (we're only in our 20's now) and I cannot love the Nhs even more! If it wasn't for them there would be Noway he'd be here and healthy now!

shinjuku09 · 17/02/2015 13:16

That's lovely news gi!

shinjuku09 · 17/02/2015 13:18

That's a great story to hear about the NHS Natalie and so pleased your husband has been given that chance. Can't imagine what it must be like to go through all that but it does show how amazing the NHS can be, I completely agree.

Chuch21 · 17/02/2015 13:21

I've put on a bit of weight but I'm really tiny so I'm not too worried... Although I hope it slows down a bit or I'll be huge! I'm usually really strict with my diet but I've taken full advantage since finding out which probably hasn't helped!

Had my booking in last Wednesday, still no scan date though Sad 10 weeks today!

TheMidnightHour · 17/02/2015 13:36

12+1 today, thrilled to get this far! Only shadow is that I still haven't heard from the hospital about a scan date. Midwife said to call today/tomorrow if that was the case - but forgot to mention she was on hols all week. Trying to chase what's hopefully the right department of the right hospital but no one answers the phone! Not really sure what else to try.

Am really looking forward to pancakes tonight. Also - went out for a ramble with a local group this morning. Lovely. Thanks for encouraging me to get out :) Need a nap now though!

delandion does your Woolly Hugs lot need yarn donations? My nan gave me a bunch when she moved, doubt I'll use it all. Need to have a sort, then sure I'll have some to pass on. No comment as to age or quality, I'm afraid, as I haven't looked in the suitcase (yes, suitcase!). Do I remember you're Oxfordshire way?

mrsdos · 17/02/2015 14:04

Just had the 2nd half of booking in.. MW was much nicer this time, took dh with me! Got to hear the heartbeat which was amazingGrin now left with a sore arm after bloods Angry but did a choc and magazine stop on the way back to work so it will be better soon.. Just got to wait for a scan date now, hopefully soon as now 12+2

Whatabout · 17/02/2015 15:28

I'm worrying that I cant find a hb with my Doppler after people are hearing them at booking! I can hear placenta but not a non wooshy one. Really sore again today and panicking. Over ten weeks and still sooooo sure this is going to go wrong and this is bsby number 2!

We are having pancakes, though my mouth tastes rank and I don't really fancy making them.

NatalieBee · 17/02/2015 15:37

Whatabout Im 12 weeks and ive trained on them for a placement I had, Im in my last couple of months on a nursing degree before i qualify! Babies are so deep in your pelvis even still at 10 weeks! It takes alot of experiance to find the little ones, it took me forever to learn! Try not to worry, it really doesnt mean anything bad x

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 17/02/2015 15:56

whatabout I'll second what Natalie says - my aforementioned friend despises the home ones as they are quite tricky to use and she gets lots of unnecessarily worried people coming in as they can't find a heartbeat so assume something is wrong.

She actually threatened to disown me as a friend if I got one! (didn't even know they existed...)

SpamAnderson · 17/02/2015 16:52

whatabout I was shocked to find mine at 9+4, that's an exception to the rule, not a normal thing. The baby is so low down still, most mws won't even attempt to find them at 16 weeks. My friends mws have struggled to find her 3 even at the 16 weeks. I couldn't find him the other day but had told myself before I got it, that if I ever can't find the heartbeat it doesn't mean anything, especially at this stage. Please don't panic about it. I had a different sort of doppler with dd1, I never once found her hb!

shinjuku09 · 17/02/2015 17:07

Well done on the ramble midnight!

I've read not to bother with home dopplers as it's very tricky to actually discern what the heartbeat is. Apparently lots of people panic cos they can't find it and lots think they've found it and it's something else (sorry not criticising those using them but just saying please don't worry if you can't find it!).

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 17/02/2015 17:24

Did I make this up or was there someone from south Oxfordshire way who was trying to find pregnancy fitness classes? Want to try and find some pregnancy yoga or similar!

DefinitelyNotElsa · 17/02/2015 17:32

Had my booking appt today - midwife was wonderful. Unfortunately, she said she's unable to give me permission to keep attending Slimming World, which I'm a bit gutted about. She said its trust policy, but that I can follow the principles at home still (the plan is backed by the Royal College of Midwives, but my trust just don't give permission).

Hey ho. Scan booked in for 12+3, but am going to see if I can shuffle it as the appt given isn't convenient at all.
