Hello ladies - I was here in the 1st trimester then dropped out because we suddenly had to deal with a huge amount of personal upheaval.
Long story, but due to DH's work we were given literally 5 weeks notice that we had to move from where we were living on the South Coast to the middle of deepest darkest Surrey. In the midst of that, I then had to be organising school places (I already have 4 children) and mid-year transfers. As things stands our 5 year old has still not got a school place after doing 1 term in Reception and I had to sort out a Year 6 place for my eldest child, for a mere two terms while arranging a secondary school place for her, after the closing date. AAARGh.
We are getting there now, but still surrounded by boxes etc to unpack, I'm living in an area which I don't know and just to add to my stress, husband has had to go away for 5 days on a work trip. So it's all go.
I am 36 weeks today, have been having diarrhoea for the past few days and feeling sick as a dog. Oh and I have a beautiful haemorrhoid too!
Due Date is 14th March but I have a planned section for 5th March although beginning to wonder if something might happen naturally. I'm bigger than I've ever been in pregnancy (although it is my 5th) at the 33 week scan they said my baby boy weighed 5 lbs 4, he has a head circumference on the 99th centile and is looking all round to be quite big!
This will be my 4th section and I have to confess that I am sh*tting myself in terror over it, probably because every single consultant has tutted, told me it's likely to be complicated and suggested sterilisation. I've turned it down because the sooner I can get off the table the better, without them fishing about to find my ovaries.
My last section didn't go brilliantly well, lots of adhesions and painful recovery although the scar is non existent. I reckon (or at least I'm telling myself) that they are over-exaggerating the risks a bit, because after the last section, one surgeon was very strict (she told me I needed to use contraception just as I was being lifted onto the recovery bed) but the other said it should be fine if I had another, they just might need to plan it. But from the stuff I've read apparently a VBAC even after 3 previous sections is no more risky than a VBAC after 1 - there just isn't enough data as not many women do it. I can't be bothered to push it and have a huge argument though, but I do wonder if this one might come naturally.
Re the lady worried about the spinal wearing off. That happened to me with section number 2. What you need to do is make an appointment for an anaesthetist referral and instead of being put to sleep what they will do is give you a spinal and an epidural at the same time which can be topped up.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing more baby news. Congratulations Zyla.
Anyone else got the sh*ts minus the giggles?
