Lovely bumps ladies, mine is very tiny so hardly worth a picture!

Warning, rant coming up!:

Parked my car outside my mums on her drive for half an hour and returned to see that someone had put 3 deep scratches all the way down the drivers side door.

I had parked considerately so I can't see that I annoyed anyone that way. It's a brand new car as well, got quoted £220 to sort it (and that's with discount with me working in the motor industry) just don't have spare money what with a house to renovate and a baby on the way. People are utter arseholes sometimes Angry

I got home and had a hormonal cry so I'm now halfway through a tub of Hagen daaz

JoY007 · 07/02/2015 18:08

Awwwstinkylinky that is horrid sorry to hear that FlowersCake, people can be so horrid, I had my window deliberately smashed in, brand new car too.

Try not to think about it, have it sorted ASAP to take your mind of it. If you are in London or Surrey area I know a repair guy that comes to you that will not charge as much. Let me know x

Aretepetite · 07/02/2015 18:20

Stinky that is horrible, poor you. Xx

Lordy my original anomaly scan was booked for 20+6. I was concerned about the cut off time I had read online so I called the scan dept and spoke to them. They brought it forward on that basis !

Great time was had by all at bowling this afternoon. It's so good not to feel sick & tired, long may it last. Got 2 kids to drop off at 6.30 then it will be chill time for me Grin

Stinkylinky · 07/02/2015 18:30

Thanks JoY, sorry to hear something similar happened to you Flowers

I'm about 4 hours from you but thank you so much for the offer, I'm going to have a ring round on Monday to see if I can get it done anywhere a bit cheaper. Money is beyond tight at the minute! X

MrsFbabyNo1 · 07/02/2015 18:59

After all this thread is called the one in which our bumps really start to appear!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 07/02/2015 19:05

Stinky really sorry to hear that, why on earth would someone do that to you parked in your mums drive. Beggars belief. Some horrible people out there! Hope karma gets them back.

I know how you feel re the £ you could be using on other things, I hit a massive pothole a couple of weeks ago and it blew out the tyre. New tyre n alignment needed for £130. I'm gonna try and claim / complain to council but not holding out much hope!

BadIdeaBear · 07/02/2015 20:37

Here's me at 17+6.

Last few days, I've turned back into a total emotional wreck. Had a meeting re my PhD yesterday and spent two massive periods in the 2 hours crying uncontrollably - classy act. Then I just sort of carried on all night really...

And then I couldn't sleep. Moved rooms due to DH snoring and then couldn't sleep as I can't get comfy just on my side - I'm such a turner.... I think my hips are out of alignment staying on my side cos my waist drops. Bought a Dream Genii second hand off eBay this afternoon - hope it works for me.

Stinkylinky · 07/02/2015 21:36

Cars are the bane of my life MrsF!

If I could get away with no having one, I would! Literally every car I have ever owned has gone wrong in spectacular style so I decided to bite the bullet and buy something brand new and some person complete fuckwit decides to damage it!

On a positive note a friend has offered to gift me ALL of her DC's clothes, essentials and toys from birth to 2 years! So we have saved a hell of a lot there. I definitely owe her a few bottles of prosecco to say thank you!

WantToGoingTo · 07/02/2015 23:22

Struggling to keep up with you all!

Jmojo we have just done our loft - re-insulated and boarded. We did it ourselves. Total cost £585. DH re-laid the existing insulation (100mm) and then laid another 200mm new insulation on top. He bought timber and raised the height of the joists because the new insulation was higher than joists so needed something firm to put boards on. He has then fitted 18mm of plywood boards to this using metal 90 degree brackets (nails not long enough to go all the way through. We are yet to buy a new hatch and ladder, but we have looked at ladders which are coming in c£60, and new hatch about the same. We will fit this ourselves (size of hatch won't change). So in total incl ladder and hatch estimate is c£700.

fatty seeing as we are doing DIY lists! (Btw v impressed with all you and DH have done, much more than us! You must have been busy!)

I have done:

  • Painted spare room including walls, ceilings, and sanded, primed and glossed 2x doors and all windowsills/skirting
  • Ordered all the new stuff (curtains, throws, cushions, door knobs, door handles etc)
  • Turfed area of the lawn with my Mum
  • Shaped and dug over a newly formed flower bed
  • Dug out grass to create veg patch and dug whole veg patch twice this year
  • Planted 120 spring bulbs (sounds a lot when you put it like that!)
  • Painted half of the conservatory
  • Weeded the driveway
  • Harvested veg from veg patch
  • Jointly pruned apple tree with DH ) a big job, hadn't been done in 5 years by previous owners!)

DH has done:

  • Levelled ground for vegetable patch
  • Dug up and moved 8 sleepers down the garden for veg patch
  • Levelled ground for turfing
  • Shifted 3 tonnes of soil down the garden for veg patch
  • Repaired the fence (twice!)
  • Repaired two walls in the front garden
  • Removed unruly ivy from the front wall
  • Chopped down 3 trees
  • Disassembled a shed
  • Painted and assembled new shed
  • Painted half the conservatory
  • Fitted two shelves
  • Plastered over cracks in walls in living room
  • Insulated and boarded the loft
  • Planted all the veg in the veg patch
  • Jointly pruned apple tree
  • Planted 1 fruit tree and 3 fruit bushes

We have had workmen in to do:

  • Install new conservatory
  • Plaster new conservatory
  • Tile floor in conservatory
  • Fit new boiler and 4 new radiators

And the list goes on of what remains!!

It is funny, it sounds like nearly everyone on this thread is heavily involved in home improvements and DIY! Seems it runs hand in hand with having babies ;)

Will post a bump pic tomorrow, not much to talk of, I just look fatter at the moment Grin

Lovely to see all your bump and scan pics! Keep them coming! Will try to keep up more but thread moves so fast!

16+1

WantToGoingTo · 07/02/2015 23:23

July 2015 - the thread in which bumps really start to appear...
Aretepetite · 08/02/2015 09:57

Well I am officially feeling movements :)
In bed every night, past 5, at the same time baby has a right good time flipping or swimming around. It is amazing.
my tummy goes hard then soft as she moves around Grin

No definite kicks yet. Jmojo, I take it that is baby when my tummy goes hard in the evening ? I have an anterior placenta. So not sure if the hard bit I feel is baby or placenta. It goes on for what feels like hours when I go to bed.

Not that I'm complaining :)

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ladies.

fattycow · 08/02/2015 11:42

I am having our scan next Wednesday and cannot wait to see the baby again! I want to see who is making my belly look like a giant bump! Grin

OP posts:
fattycow · 08/02/2015 11:44

MrsF, you can put the sex of your baby in the stats list if you like!

OP posts:
fattycow · 08/02/2015 11:44

Stinky, I'm sorry about your car. Some people are just dicks!

OP posts:
jmojo · 08/02/2015 12:16

arte it is the outline of your uterus you feel when it goes hard, it may feel a different shape depending on where the baby is! Mine goes hard when the baby is active (doing it now)!! I have been having kicks since 15 wks and there is a definite tightening / kicking correlation. Smile

fattycow · 08/02/2015 12:40

My tummy does that as well, it can feel really hard on the outside and I can feel exactly where my womb is!

OP posts:
jmojo · 08/02/2015 13:35

fatty freaky isn't it!!

fattycow · 08/02/2015 13:42

It is weird, but I like to feel it as well. Good to know that my womb is measuring to dates.

OP posts:
Aretepetite · 08/02/2015 13:50

Thanks Jmojo

I thought it was baby I was feeling because it moved around. It will be another form of re-assurance for me then :)

Stinkylinky · 08/02/2015 17:07

Could anyone post or send me in the right direction for a list of essential bits I need for baby? This is my first DC and I find myself wandering around baby stores completely overwhelmed and don't want to be buying faddy stuff that won't get used

MrsFbabyNo1 · 08/02/2015 17:26

Yes it was me, wantto. Your list looks pretty damn good too (another keen fruit n veg grower i see). My true admiration goes out to those that get all their diy jobs done with kiddies too. Me and mine just got mega busy but wouldn't have if we had baby / toddlers around for sure!!

Broody, not in the fb group so didn't see your kitchen pic. Sounds lush ??. You'll be so proud of what you've done in the end. I love renovation shows! I'm not a big fb user and to be honest I don't think I'd manage to keep up with with the two groups but will request to join fb group a bit later on...

Aretepetit, Yep funny feeling isn't it. I could feel mild squirms recently (really had to concentrate though) but I've never really felt my tummy to see where my uterus is. Will have to try.

Then last night lying flat on my tummy on the sofa, I felt a massive strong prod / poke so much so it made me startle (literally jump out my skin) and start laughing to myself. MrF thought I was weird until I said just felt a proper poke! Maybe our little man didn't like being squashed flat on the sofa.

I'll have to update my stats when on a pc as can't see what I'm doing with it on my phone!

Badidea do let us know if dreamgenii are good as I'm umming and ahhing about whether might need one soon.

Today has been a day of cleaning and tidying. Starting to notice the very bottom / base of my back hurts a touch last few days. So must try to keep a good posture and not over exert myself from now on. Any tips from anyone on how to try and keep pregnancy back probs at bay?
