Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

Thank you all (the artist formerly known as gin Grin )

Great to see you too butterfly Thanks

Mummyboo30 · 15/01/2015 19:10

Brilliant news flyingspud I had my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Not much going on here. 7 weeks today and booking in on Monday. Looking forward to it feeling a bit more real...
I've also got the painful trapped wind cramps, always better after a trip to the little girls' room Blush

Wish I could wangle an early scan. I haven't even got a date through the post yet. I guess they don't do anything until you're properly 'in the system' though?

FlyingSpud · 15/01/2015 19:17

Mummy after my recent 'experience' if I had my time again, I wouldn't have early scans. They can be more worrying than they are reassuring. Well, maybe I would wait until at least 8 weeks.

I feel your pain with the gas. I'm like a blimp tonight.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 15/01/2015 19:18

The admin of pregnancy care seems to vary significantly region to region. I hate that it's most disconcerting. I wish my scan was earlier than it's going to be but there we go. I'll just have to hang on in until the 10th March.

Mummyboo30 · 15/01/2015 19:33

At least you know when yours is doctor, I remember with my first that my scan was organised so late I was only just in time for them to do the measurements properly. They blamed it on the huge numbers of people who get pregnant around this time of year. Hmm

I can see what you mean spud although now you're reassured that everything is ok! :)

Mummytogoldie · 15/01/2015 20:15

Hi just an update after a scan last week which showed an empty sac and hormone levels of 43000 I didn't hold out much hope. However went for a scan yesterday and saw a baby and heartbeat, measuring around 6 weeks, which is weird as I only miscarried on the 1st December :) does the risk of miscarriage decrease if you have seen a heartbeat x

bonzo77 · 15/01/2015 20:22

mummy what wonderful news. If a bit bewildering! I'm sure the risk of miscarriage goes down if a heart beat is seen. It has to.

There's some evidence that scans themselves improve outcomes. Not sure why. But a good reason to get one I think!

NatalieBee · 15/01/2015 20:37

Mummy I googled this last week and after a heartbeat is seen the chance of miscarriage goes to around 5% Smile

ag123 · 15/01/2015 21:23

Bonzo77 I had my first at the Whittington but had a bit of a tough time. Ended up with an emcs but had complications with that (ds 11lbs at birth) so have been pretty much terrified about goin through it all again. So decided this time I'd book with UCLH seeing as that's the place they refer more complicated cases to from all the hospital around here. Also lived in Muswell Hill when had ds which was easy to go to the Whittington from and it's actually a bit of an arse to get across to Archway from here and there's no parking at all there so thought it wouldn't be much different going down to Euston. (Couldn't bring myself to go with North Mid)

Yay to everyone who's had lovely flickering jelly bean scans!! Grin

Hi all,

Loads of reassuring chat here!

Tested positive on Christmas day except didn't realise that extremely faint second line meant positive until Boxing Day (by which time I'd had a boozy Christmas. ..doh!)

Nightmare getting through the rest of festive period sober without arousing suspicion...

Anyway, due 5th Sept, first pregnancy, 34 yrs old, sore boobs and exhausted but fairly symptomless apart from that, thus far. ..

Pretty terrified! Especially as hubby works away from home and although we're trying to move closer to his work, struggling to sell our flat at the moment. Not looking forward to moving while heavily pregnant to a place where I know nobody... But it'll all work out somehow. ..

Anyone else in the middle of moving?

And anyone else feel like a fraud and like you can't possibly really be pregnant, despite the positive tests?! Feels so unreal!
x

What wonderful news flyingspud and mummy

Think we're going to book a private scan at 8 weeks I can't hold out till 12 weeks and we're going to have to have to tell PIL we're pulling out of the holiday in march so I'd like to see a wee heartbeat first. Although - I know its silly - but I'm worried if I book it it'll bring bad luck... Ah pregnancy anxiety how I have not missed you!

Quinandthem · 15/01/2015 21:54

BB01. I'm from the July 13 thread - and the May 15 thread which ended in mc.

I saw your earlier post that you'd had one as well. It's a bit rubbish isn't it.

Good luck everyone.

TinyPawz · 15/01/2015 22:14

Symptoms are fading and it is concerning me somewhat.

NatalieBee · 15/01/2015 22:17

How many weeks are you Tinypawz? Is there any way you can self refer to EPAU? Thanks

ShootTheMoon · 15/01/2015 22:20

Hello everyone! Welcome to the new posters - if I wasn't on the crappy app I could say hello by name!

Well, if anyone want to test for sore boobs, I have a good way! I've just been training and it's fricking freezing out there - sleet and icy winds! So I was running around in Lycra for about 90 mins.

Towards the end of the session I was handed a sopping wet bib to wear. It soaked through my many layers and now I have nipples of ice! I swear my boobs have never been more agonising than in the car on the way home.

I think the heater made it worse. I had to stick a hand down my bra to warm up my boobs. And then it was too windy to do that safely so I just had to suffer!

Confused Boobs of doom.

So, yes, I can highly recommend that option to test for soreness!

TinyPawz · 15/01/2015 22:23

I'm 7+5. No way to self refer to epu. Kind of things that as long as I'm not bleeding then there is still hope.

TinyPawz · 15/01/2015 22:24

Congrats on your surprise BFP poco!!

Mummyboo30 · 15/01/2015 22:48

Tiny try not to worry too much about a lack of symptoms. They do come and go for lots of people. What symptoms did you have before now?
I'm still relatively symptomless, but I'm trying to just stay positive. It's still early days.

ShootTheMoon · 15/01/2015 22:51

Ktd you need protein and healthy fats, not carb, it will just make you crash and binge and bloat!

Try nuts and seeds if you can - cashew nut butter on rice cake is amazing! Avocado, cottage cheese, veg, white meat, that kind of stuff if you can face it. Then cake Grin

TinyPawz · 15/01/2015 23:32

Aching boobs and exhaustion. Ah well what will be will be. This will tip me over the edge after the crap from the last week. Grr. Roll on booking in / dating scan.
