Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

Congrats Tall

Tallalime · 15/01/2015 23:40

Thanks tiny

deeplybaffled · 15/01/2015 23:44

My boobs are not particularly tender anymore, just a bit bigger, so not sure that is necessarily a problem?

Choccyhobnob · 15/01/2015 23:47

Was just woken up with the most excruciating period type pain I've ever had in my life, was nearly in tears and heaving when I was on the toilet. No bleeding or spotting though and pain very central so I'm hoping not ectopic? Lasted 25 mins now totally gone.

deeplybaffled · 15/01/2015 23:48

Sorry, that last post was for tiny . It's all rather stressful, isn't it - had rather hoped that the symptom spotting would calm down post bfp!

Welcome, to the lunacy, all new bfp-ers ... ;)

deeplybaffled · 15/01/2015 23:55

Oh, poor you, choccy - maybe call nhs direct equivalent if you are worried? Hope nothing serious. X

TerrysNo3 · 15/01/2015 23:56

choccy go to epu or call doctors for a referral tomorrow, it's very unlikely (statistically) to be an ectopic but it's not worth the risk of waiting. Keeping my fx for you.

Welcome from the Jan bus poco and a bfp after TTC for 3 years is just awesome time Grin

tiny I have zero symptoms, it is NOT a sign of anything bad!! Smile

TerrysNo3 · 15/01/2015 23:57

choccy how many weeks are you? Have you had a scan at all yet?

Choccyhobnob · 16/01/2015 00:00

I'm about 5+1 so no scan yet. I'm not even sure who I should call? Never done this before! Got a booking in app in 3 weeks so a midwife has contacted me but don't know how to contact epu?

TerrysNo3 · 16/01/2015 00:05

choccy have a look here and find your local EPU, it tells you if you can self refer or if you need a gp/mw to refer you, if you can self refer you can just call them otherwise phone your gp tomorrow and explain the pain. Don't belittle it though as you need to kick up a fuss sometimes to get a referral. If you get any more pain and you are worried go to a+e and they can scan you.

fwiw I didn't get any pain with my ectopic until I was 6 weeks and I also had a heavy bleed for 5 days at 4 weeks.

45Monty · 16/01/2015 05:59

45 and first pregnancy.

It was a shock, this was not planned. Yet even even more of a shock as both myself and my partner were deemed infertile and we used birth control.

Confused on how to proceed, as we have high risk for complications, and birth defects. Already having complications at 4w5d. We both struggle with the decision to proceed.

Just needed to write...

brickiemum2 · 16/01/2015 06:11

Hi Monty that must've been some shock. What complications are you having already? I'm sure that if you are high risk to would be consultant led care with plenty of scans etc to test that all was well. You can have non invasive genetic testing now for many conditions and ask the new scanning techniques are better at picking up birth defects, especially if you know what the potential risk is and they are actively checking for that. Choccyhobnob · 16/01/2015 06:44

Thank you Terrys. Looks like my nearest epu is only open for 45 minutes every weekday morning (very useful!) But the next nearest one is open pretty much full time and my friend is a midwife there so I might drop her a message and see what she says xx

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/01/2015 06:52

I hope she can put your mind at rest Choccy.

brickiemum2 · 16/01/2015 06:57

For a pain like that you definitely should be seen choccy and I don't think you're overreacting. Hopefully they'll be able to see you and scan you and put your mind at rest Smile

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 16/01/2015 07:05

choccy definitely get some help today but just wanted to say You've reminded me I had something which sounds similar when I was pregnant with DS, got abut hysterical thinking it was something really bad and DH had to talk me down from the ceiling. Turned out to be some extreme trapped wind Blush

Choccyhobnob · 16/01/2015 07:16

Lol it was definitely period type pain not trapped wind but it disappeared totally and not come back since. I'll still definitely ask my friend. Don't think a scan would show anything this early (apart from if it's in the right place I suppose?) X

FlyingSpud · 16/01/2015 07:17

Choccy get yourself checked out and try to take it easy. All sort of things are happening down there at the moment, lots of stretching etc so it might just be a symptom of that.

Tinypawz I felt exactly the same; my symptoms disappeared but yesterday I saw a tiny blob with a heartbeat. Symptoms come and go...they'll be back to bite you in the arse before you know it Grin

Off to work now. Anyone else got anything exciting to do today?

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/01/2015 07:20

I don't know about exciting but I'm telling my Headteacher today. He's leaving at the end of the year and is really demob happy at the moment! I've also got to try and get some funding to support a student because the SENCO has done nothing. Going to be an interesting meeting.

Treaclepie19 · 16/01/2015 07:28

Hope all is ok choccy

doctordonna good luck telling the head.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 16/01/2015 07:29

Thanks Treacle - how are you doing today?

NatalieBee · 16/01/2015 07:30

Nothing exiting here, off today woo Grin so heading for lunch and shopping with the hubby!

As for symptoms I seem to have alternate days, one day they're horrific and the next not to bad and it continues on Hmm symptoms come and go so try not to worry :)
