Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

spreadsheet is brill envious. Thanks for doing that.
hello to everyone who has joined us recently.

Moon84 · 12/01/2015 18:49

Thank you.

Got my bfp last Tuesday saying 2-3 weeks pregnant. Felt really crampy for a couple of days which I thought was AF coming as I'd only come off the pill the month before! cramps have passed now but my boobs are so achey! Hoping its normal to not be feeling much else at this stage?

I've got a Drs appointment on wed, and then will they just refer you onto a midwife?

ShootTheMoon · 12/01/2015 19:00

Thanks for the clever stats list llama - great idea! Visible from iPhone but not editable, I think.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 12/01/2015 19:01

Moon - I think procedure varies from place to place. I was able to self-refer to the midwives for example.

deeplybaffled · 12/01/2015 19:11

snappy - I'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself. X

envious - thanks for the spreadsheet! Impressive and scary.

Although I've seen my gp, no idea when I might see a midwife. If nothing arrives in the post this week, might ring up and prod them. When is usual?

booboobeedoo11 · 12/01/2015 19:13

I phoned my doctor on Friday and they just gave me the number for the centralised midwives, who don't see you til 8wks! So I have just over 4wks til I see anyone. Don't know why I feel like seeing the midwife sooner would make it feel more real!

Anyone feeling rather symptomless? The few days before and the day I got my bfp I was feeling more than I do now. Boobs are starting to feel quite sensitive but thats about it for me the last few days.

Treaclepie19 · 12/01/2015 19:15

I feel symptomless booboo, apart from being bloated.

mrsatkinson · 12/01/2015 19:20

Brill envious! I can't edit it though, won't let me on anything! x

duckbilled · 12/01/2015 19:20

Hi everyone, room for another one? I got my BFP today and although my last period was the 1st of December, I have crazy cycles and the clear blue digi said 1-2 so I think I am just over 4 weeks.
This is my second pregnancy, I already have a dd who is 15 months.
Looking forward to getting to know you all Smile

booboobeedoo11 · 12/01/2015 19:25

Hi Duck congrats on your BFP!

booboobeedoo11 · 12/01/2015 19:29

Treacle I'm finding it so weird knowing what's going on inside me but not really feeling anything! Maybe I'm one of those who don't really get any at all, considering I was 18/19wks with my son before I found out lol (lot to do with that was being on the pill and still having a light breakthrough bleed which I obv thought was a period!).

I just want these first few weeks to fly by and start getting to appointments and actually feel pregnant!

GailTheFish · 12/01/2015 19:46

Snappy really sorry to hear your news, hope you are able to take some time to rest and recover Flowers

Many congratulations to those who have just got their BFPs. Thanks so much for the spreadsheet llama, have updated my details. There's a lot of us already isn't there.

Got my midwife appointment in the post today - not until 25 February, which is aaaages away. I've had to phone them up to move it forward (as i'm away skiing that week, that was interesting to explain!). Even so, still another 5 weeks to go. No symptoms here other than sore boobs (but no worse than PMT) and random aches and pains - am worried that I'm going to get to the scan and they'll tell me I'm making it all up, and all that decaffeinated tea will have been for nothing!

pinkie87 · 12/01/2015 19:47

Hello ladies, can I join too please? Got my bfp on Christmas eve, what a lovely gift! Due 2nd September according to my 6 week scan. :)

GailTheFish · 12/01/2015 19:53

And also a random question for you all from a first-timer (I love this thread, there's no one I can ask these questions in real life!): bras. Do I just buy a bigger bra as I need it? Am I really meant to avoid underwiring? Are there special pregnancy bras that extend somehow? It seems a bit silly to buy a bra that I may only use for a month or so.

GailTheFish · 12/01/2015 19:54

Congrats pinkie!

pinkie87 · 12/01/2015 19:56

Thanks Gail! Good question about the bras. I just lost a stone and a half before getting pregnant but can feel the weight coming back already, especially my boobs. Don't want to buy loads of new bras that I'll never use again!

BB01 · 12/01/2015 20:02

Hi all, can I say a tentative hello? I got a bfp today but don't think my period is quite due yet hence the faintest of faint lines! My nipples have been tingling like crazy for at least a week though. I already have an 18-month-old and had a mc in October. So sorry and much sympathy for those who've already had bad news

ShootTheMoon · 12/01/2015 20:08

Gail, you can measure at home with the Better Bra Campaign method (tape measure!) and just buy online or in store based on your real size - ribs may get bigger (mine did) so back size goes up.

Last time I lived in the Bravado pg/nursing bras (seamless silk I think). They are incredibly ugly and mono-boob but they are very comfortable and stretch loads as needed, and can be used for breastfeeding afterwards.

I really am going to try to buy a few nicer bras this time though, with frequent measuring, as comfortable nursing bras are so ugly!

ShootTheMoon · 12/01/2015 20:09

Welcome pinkie and BB01 Smile and congrats!
