Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

Heyo all,
Got a positive test on Sunday! According to a due date calculator I am due the 13th Sept.
This is the horribly worrying bit, isn't it?
I'm trying to impose another 2ww on myself before I go running off the the docs and getting busy!

I have a 10 month old son.

Question - what does dpo mean? Is it days post ovulation?

Julietee · 06/01/2015 14:05

Oh hey, Kilted, I have anxiety too. Am currently on a medium dose of citalopram, which I'm still taking for the moment. Someone linked me to the NHS website which had an article on SSRIs, apparently there's a very small increased risk of heart wall defects. Something like 0.1%. So I'll keep taking for now, at least til Dr tells me otherwise.

Which reminds me... must take antenatal vitamin today!

spamanderson · 06/01/2015 14:06

I swear this baby is going to come out pickled :/ I cannot stop eating stuff drenched in balsamic vinegar :/ anyone else having weird food stuff?

kiltedsheep · 06/01/2015 15:49

Julietee - yup, DPO = days post ovulation. it takes a while to get used to all these TLAs flying around!

spam - i keep having cravings for rollmop herring!

NordicDreamer · 06/01/2015 15:52

Cake - yes, I'm in Norway too! How did you find the medical system here for your first? Were you generally happy with everything? I have lots of friends with little ones but haven't told anyone yet...can't wait for the time when I can pick their brains for all the must-know info!

Spam - thanks for the tip! I think I'll call the private clinic and see what they say. I just want some reassurance that there's really something there :)

Don't know how you all cope if it's no2 or 3...I'm absolutely exhausted all the time at the moment and only have myself to look after! Yawned my way through work and can't wait to collapse on the sofa when I'm home.

Anyone else feeling really bloated? This may sound silly, but I feel so different I can't imagine how nobody has guessed just by talking to me...

mrsdos · 06/01/2015 16:22

Nordic, I have the terrible bloating too. Work trousers were fine last week, this morning (was unable to vacate the sofa yesterday) now don't want to fit! Angry Feel rubbish as bloated but not eating much due to loss of appetite, just not fair Sad

NordicDreamer · 06/01/2015 17:27

Glad I'm not the only one mrs, it's horrible isn't it! I'm super gassy too Shock poor DH!

GailTheFish · 06/01/2015 17:28

Hi everyone, can I join you? Got my BFP this morning after 8 months or so of TTC. I'm only 4 weeks (14 DPO), so trying to remember that it's early days - according to the calculator my due date is 14 Sept.

Off to the Docs tomorrow - possibly a little bit early but I'd made the appointment before I got my positive test as my hip has been feeling strange over the last week or so, am now wondering if it's some random early pregnancy symptom I haven't heard of before...

Now to stay away from testing every day to check that it's still positive and not my over-active imagination!

nutelladipper · 06/01/2015 17:49

Day 2 back at work done no more work till next week now but I'm dreading battling with the kids! Realise me having a nap in the day was the reason I was sleeping badly at night.
Midwife rang today. I've got my booking in appointment. 21st jan. Every other time it's been at home but this time it's at the bloody surgery. I'm to allow 1-2hrs!!! I'll have the kids to juggle which will not be good. Hmm

almostfullyfunctional · 06/01/2015 18:01

game over for this time for us. no heartbeats on scan. Boo.

nutelladipper · 06/01/2015 18:06

Oh no could it not just be too early! So sorry. Hmm

Galaxy2014 · 06/01/2015 18:38

almost - I'm so sorry to hear that Flowers

Question for you ladies - Have you told work etc? Now I got very excited and told people - I'm in the mindset if things go wrong (touch wood it doesn't) at least they will know why I'm upset etc. However two girls I'm good friends with are now on boob and bump watch it seems - they made me laugh when I sat down with them and they accessed that my boobs have definitely grown (lads in my team went a bit red haha!)

Feel so bloated as well and it's doing my head in - be better when I know its an actual bump if you get what I mean :)

For the ladies experiencing morning sickness - I've been told that arrowroot biscuits are a winner to help overcome it (other than ginger biscuits etc) as I've been told from a fellow dad whose wife lived off them.

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 06/01/2015 18:42

so sorry to hear that almost! how far along are you? Would it not just be to early to pick up?

Question for everybody, when are you all going to break the news to family and close friends?
I don't think I can wait til after first scan and then think if something does go wrong then at least we will have support.

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 06/01/2015 18:44

galaxy, I've already told my managers as have to lug heavy boxes about in the next week or so and would rather not having suffered a mmc a few years ago.

LittleSesameSeed · 06/01/2015 19:10

Almost Im so sorry - it's such a horrible thing to happen. Make sure you take care of yourself x

nutelladipper · 06/01/2015 19:44

Somewhere I've told our parents and siblings. I won't tell work for a few weeks and pref after the scan.
Xx

kiltedsheep · 06/01/2015 20:23

I've only told parents and my brother. it's such early days for me. I'll wait until the 12 week stage.

but DH can't stop himself from shooting his mouth off at work! he's so excited! i wouldn't mind except for the fact that we're both barristers in London and it's a very small (and boring) world at the Bar, so I'm paranoid that his clerks will tell mine and suddenly everyone will know.

GinFace · 06/01/2015 20:39

So sorry almost Thanks

I'm not telling work for as long as possible, however the bloating today was UNCONTROLLABLE so I have no idea how I'm going to keep it under wraps.

Anyone else still relatively symptom free?Hmm

TinyPawz · 06/01/2015 20:56

Sorry to hear that Almost. Look after yourself

Julietee · 06/01/2015 20:57

Still relatively symptom free here. But v early days.

Does anyone think it's an issue lugging ds around in his carseat? Probably about 25lbs or so altogether. I'm trying not to be paranoid and overthink things.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 06/01/2015 20:57

So sorry almost, I was in your shoes last March, and it's shit, but hopefully you get another BFP once you are ready to try again. If you are reading this, please research your options, I was told very little by the hospital and was so upset I wanted it over with ASAP as I had 2 young children to look after so I chose the surgical option, and I have regretted it ever since I found out that it can cause uterine adhesions which can cause health problems and can affect future fertility. Massive chances of this according to things I have since read. I would never have chosen it had I known and I am just hoping that this baby survives as adhesions can also lead to miscarriages...

Re symptoms, I have tender boobs, and a fairly constant ache in my groin, and am absolutely exhausted, and already got my preggo friend insomnia back and am needing to wee in the night already. Oh how I wish someone had educated me on the importance of pelvic floor excercises earlier in life! Carpel tunnel hasn't left me since my last pregnancy, and it's only a matter of time before my SPD rears it's head. I don't get morning sickness as such, just wake feeling queasy and as if my stomach is ridiculously empty, but I figured out that if I drink a glass of milk before I get out of bed then it pushes out the burps and I feel fine when I get up then, but the queasiness hasn't started yet, reckon got a couple of weeks before that might start!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 06/01/2015 20:59

Julietee shouldn't he be in a next stage car seat by now, that you leave in the car rather than lugging round that sort of weight? I think the max weight in our seat was 18lb?

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 06/01/2015 21:01

Ignore me, preggo brain being thick, was 18kg max not 18lb! Just watch your back/pelvis as muscles will soften faster in second pregnancy and you could do yourself an injury if not careful

TerrysNo3 · 06/01/2015 21:57

almost I'm so sorry for you, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for a sticky one soon for you. Thanks Thanks

After my ectopic in July I was told to phone my doctors as soon as I got pregnant and they have arranged for an early scan for me on the 21st Jan which is when I will be almost 6 weeks, I don't think we'll see a heartbeat then but they will just be checking to see if the sac is in my womb and not in my tube again. That will be a scary day.

Nutella you've had booking in appointments at home before?? I always have to go to the doctors!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 06/01/2015 21:58

I'm in! Got a BFP today super unexpected and bloomin DH is stuck at work dealing with a crisis so he doesn't know yet - gah!

Can feel the anxiety building already...
