Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

I also had sciatia dailylurker. I hope I don't get it this time.

Sorry to hear your news chandler. I'm sure you'll get your take home baby soon.

nutelladipper · 04/01/2015 18:30

Kilted I'm just 6 weeks and starting to feel sick, how many weeks are you?

I've a prolapsed disc so dreading that flaring up Hmm

Dailylurker · 04/01/2015 19:41

Sorry to remind you but it was awful so I'm doing all I can to avoid!

I do actually enjoy being pregnant and love having a bump x

LittleSesameSeed · 04/01/2015 20:01

Maths I would definitely speak to the school nurse- luckily being primary my school is small and I tend to find out pretty soon if anything is going around! Oh and secondary maths- that would petrify me!!! X

spamanderson · 04/01/2015 21:30

I've not really had sickness in pregnancy. Was sick maybe twice with dd1 and once with dd2. This time however.... I haven't been sick yet but have been nauseas since 6dpo! The hormones feel quite 'strong' this time, sore boobs, twingey stomach, nausea every evening etc, I didn't get sore boobs in the last 2 until they got milky (he he) I was just really tired, had acid reflux and the metallic taste in my mouth. I am convinced already that this one is a boy (that or it's twins :/ they do run in DHs family so I suppose it could be possible)
Bloomin boots kilted don't they know some of us have expensive POAS addictions??? ahem I'm doing my date clear blue in the morning and praying it shows up with the 2-3 weeks at least! If it comes up with the 1-2 weeks I'll be paranoid something's wrong :(

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 04/01/2015 21:37

Hi all, hope you have room for another one. Got my BFP this morning, bit nervous as have 2 ds's followed by a MC and then another loss discovered on an early scan, so hoping this one works out. Am 38 and so worried a bit about the risks as I'm older now. plus how to deal with the no driving for 6 weeks in Sept/Oct (DS1 was a cat 1 EMCS and DS2 was a recommended ELCS because of his size and because of how the first labour had gone). as ds1 is meant to start school in Sept unless we defer until the January which I don't think DH will agree to, but he works a long way away so not sure what help he will give me. Ideally I'd like him to take 2 weeks paternity followed by 2 weeks holiday which means only 2 weeks that we need to figure out kind of hoping family might offer to help but not sure as they aren't great at helping us with anything...trying not to worry too much as not going to tell anyone until after the 12 week scan if we make it to then.

almostfullyfunctional · 04/01/2015 21:52

So about exercise... I had to lose 20 kg to be ready for our ivf. Managed it by lots of exercise and mfp. I've read a lot about the benefits of moderate exercise in early pregnancy, so would like to carry on. Only problem is I get funny twinges in my tummy afterwards and it's hard not to get paranoid, especially as I'm still getting brown sludge every so often. What is anyone else doing?

deeplybaffled · 04/01/2015 22:03

I'm still exercising a few times a week -mainly running and some badminton. Hoping to carry on for as long as feels do-able as I suffer from anxiety, and find it helps.
Have you spoken to your gp / midwife for advice?

Maths88 · 05/01/2015 06:26

Spam mine yesterday only came up with 1-2 should I be worried? I've done three frers and they've been getting darker each time so I thought it should be ok?

Waiting for the train to work now - had a nice early night so hoibig today will be ok. Good luck to anyone else returning to work!

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 08:04

What do your dates make you maths? (I will point out that I suffer with anxiety which is normally medicated BUT I've read the info and this particular one can cause various issues to the foetus and at birth etc so I refuse to take it any more. Hence I'm a worrier and haven't taken it fir about a week nw. After a missed day or 2 normally I start to get a bit antsy! So I obsess worry about things that 'normal' people don't give a 2nd though to!)
Do your dates make you 3-4 weeks pregnant? If so, the result on your test is right. If you didn't get enough FMU on it, or didn't hold it in the container for 20 seconds (I always use a container as I have terrible aim he he) then it just may not have got enough sample on it to measure the hormones. Clear blue are some of the more iffy ones with sensitivity I think, frer are the most sensitive, clear blue, not so much but I just love that they have the week calculator on :D

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 08:17

Did my Clearblue test this morning with the date indicator :D thrilled it came up with the date I thought, I had a cp before and after positive tests, that then came up as 'not pregnant' ( I have been paranoid this was going to happen again) it puts me at 4-5 weeks and my dates make me 4 weeks exactly so kinda hoping i might even get brought forward a day or two at scan for a change (with dd1 I must have ovulated ridiculously late as I was out back 2.5 weeks with her! The dd2 I was put back about 3 days)!
The nausea was really bad yesterday evening, BLEURGH. I was pleased though as I hadn't had it the day before and did worry a bit :( yucky metallic taste has arrived this morning too! I did have it with both dds so I fully expected it again :)
When is everyone making drs appointments etc? I have to make an app with the Dr to get them to 'confirm' although I'm slightly tempted to take in the 2 clear blues and first response and ask if it's proof enough! Then they tell me to book in with the midwife who if I remember rightly, won't even see me until 8 weeks anyway! I'm worrying about their tests they use now as I e got the cheapie strips here and I'm getting the super faint lines on those that you have to hold up to the right light and right angle to see :/ I think I must have a bad batch as I've never had lines that faint in them before! Just worried theirs will be bad too and they'll tell me I'm not pregnant and I'll end up having a massive paddy in the drs surgery getting upset...

Oh and maths I would trust your Frer's over the Clearblue, much more sensitive!

Morning ladies

Good news: my work trousers fit! Hurrah!

These digital date tests can be a pain in the arse. They're good in some ways but it makes it easy to worry if the dates aren't what you expect. CBD I don't think take into account the two weeks since your missed period which due dates do, so the results may be that is shows you 'less pregnant' than you actually are IYSWIM. So when I too my first CBD, it showed me as 1-2 weeks when I was actually four weeks according to my LMP date.

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 08:26

gin Yep you add 2 weeks on which would give you a 'normal' cycled persons due date pretty much :) the CBD are fab if they're used exactly right, at the right time, with the right amount of sample etc :/ I've always found them a bit temperamental so the sticks are probably much more reliable for the result anyway but I do love to see the words come up in front of me

lovesmycake · 05/01/2015 09:09

Hello I may be tentatively joining if that's ok, still seems a bit too good to be true.

Stats: DC#2 EDD 31 Aug (but I know I ovulated late so will be a few days later) TTC for 15 months.

Sat in work feeling very sick and very tired but happy!

threeberries · 05/01/2015 12:42

Hi all new posters! I've got my first midwife appt booked Grin its a self referral system here so I just looked up the number on the hospital website which was convenient. Has anyone else having a second or third got a big tum really quickly? I swear I already look about 12 weeks (I'm only 6 Shock ). I did have a dream I was pregnant with twins before I tested.....

Bippidee · 05/01/2015 12:51

I feel incredibly tired today despite a rare halfway decent night with DD1!

I keep having to pinch myself... And I'm excited but this time it's going to be hard not to tell anyone for 3 months... sigh

Dailylurker · 05/01/2015 14:59

Threeberries - I am exactly the same, I'm looking like I'm showing already it's ridiculous!!!

I have booked in with the midwife for next Friday but have called the early pregnancy unit this morning and got a scan for Wednesday when I'll be 7+2 just to check everything is where it should be :) fingers crossed x

NatalieBee · 05/01/2015 15:15

I went out for lunch today and it was not my smartest idea Shock I feel so so sick..this baby seems to dislike everything I feed it lol!

Early scan on Thursday, possibly the longest few days in my life! Then booking in appt on the 13th! It's all starting to feel a bit more real Grin

Maths88 · 05/01/2015 15:30

I think I should have been 4 weeks 4 days when I took the test but tbh I'm not entirely sure of when I ovulated! Think I'll take another one in a couple of days and see if it's gone up. My frers are definitely getting darker though which must be a good sign?

TinyPawz · 05/01/2015 15:46

I was at the doctors this morning to get referred to maternity hospital and he mentioned that now I am over 6 weeks I should stop taking folic acid. Apparently there have been a few studies recently which link folic acid with breast cancer. Any other doctors mentioned this? It was quite a shock to be honest, he is normally a very go with the flow kinda got.

spamanderson · 05/01/2015 15:49

Yeah definitely maths. It could just be that your sample was diluted more than normal? The test came up 1-2 so means you're 3-4 weeks but it's not an exact science :) could be all manner of things but if it was a cp for example, the frer wouldn't keep getting stronger like they are, so I would say the problem us with the sensitivity of the Clearblue. A friend of mine only gets the right results from the frer, nothing else shows up her positives. She has 3 dc and no problems :)

GinFace · 05/01/2015 17:35

Never heard that, tiny. I think it's fairly critical to take it for the first 12 weeks.

Lurker did you just phone and book a scan with the EPU? I thought they only scan early if there's a problem?

nutelladipper · 05/01/2015 17:56

Woo hoo first day at work survived. Now where's my bed?
X

DorothyBastard · 05/01/2015 18:42

Hi all, how is everyone feeling? I've not seen a doctor or a midwife yet, and I'm not feeling very symptom-y (apart from so bloody TIRED!) so it's starting to feel really unreal. Anyone else?

Maths88 · 05/01/2015 18:56

I'm not very symptom y either - just saw boobs in the evening and I suppose I'm fairly tired - trying to reassure myself it's early still!
