Yikes! Scary stuff, one of the ladies in my bounty Due in April group is in hospital and her baby might be delivered tonight, by scan dates she's 25 weeks!

BananaToast · 26/12/2014 16:37

Oh gosh that is scary Boo. You never think it'll happen to you. Hope all goes well for her whatever happens today.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/12/2014 17:24

Sorry you were ill too BonjourMinou, sucks!! But glad you're feeling better today.

Mine leaked at night with ds1 and 2 Wineandchoccy by 20 weeks but not this time yet.

I found out with ds2, who was born in September, that I was pregnant on Christmas Day TheBooMonster Xmas Grin. That is scary being so early, that's my fear at every scan that they will want to induce me early. Hope baby stays put for a bit longer!

Dh was prescribed 4 differ at drugs and second pharmacy we tried from
The list the Dr gave us had them all. We were back at my mums by 12.30 and Dh was feeling a bit more human by 6pm. We both slept well last night!

We didn't get anything for the baby at all, so yay for all those that did!!

BonjourMinou · 26/12/2014 19:30

Hey guys,

I leaked a teeny tiny bit in the bath the other day but other than that, nothing. Have a feeling I only leaked in the bath towards the end last time, too.

We didn't get much for bump; just a couple of small sleepsuits and a small teddy bear, but it was nice he was thought of at all.

Also my SIL announced she was also pregnant on Christmas Day! Due in August Xmas Shock

Lauren82000 · 26/12/2014 19:42

Cinnamon we didn't get anything for bump either. Hmm

DH and his brothers are going down to his dad's tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about him being 6 hours away and he's worried about leaving me and DD alone. Tried to get me to stay at my mums because he wants me to be safe? Erm since when was our house not safe?

Dunno what I'm going to do with DD for 2 days without us killing each other. Her behaviour has gone down the toilet since she got all her presents from Father Christmas. Confused

TheBooMonster · 26/12/2014 19:58

Will keep you ladies informed about my bounty lady.

I blissfully had no idea babies coming early was even a thing with DD, very shocked at 36 week scan when they said they were inducing me, this time I'm all ready for it but suspect that they'll let me go to term because I'm the size of a bloody whale in comparison!

We didn't get anything for bump unless you include my new changing bag that's having to go back grumble grumble in fact mostly I got alcohol...

Glad Mrcinnamon is feeling a bit better!

TheBooMonster · 26/12/2014 19:59

Had no leakage with DD, was terror died my milk wouldn't come in but it did right on que after birth. This time I keep feeling damp but nothing more.

BananaToast · 26/12/2014 20:04

Lovely news about your SIL Bonjour. Nice to have cousins close in age!

Why is the changing bag going back Boo? I got the one I'd been eyeing up and love it, came home and tried it out with the pram like a total loser Grin

Think I've been having some Braxton Hicks the last week or so. My tummy goes tight and hard for 30 seconds or so every now and again, particularly at the sides. I thought it was baby shifting position but since it never lasts very long I think it's more likely to be BH. Does that sound right to second timers? I feel like I can't possibly be far enough along for all that but having googled it seems that I am. Anyone else feel like they're only a few weeks gone still?

Lauren82000 · 26/12/2014 20:41

Banana that sounds like what I get. Sometimes mine goes harder on one side so looks lob sided. I kind of presumed that the baby was on that side and I was contracting around it for it to do that.

BananaToast · 26/12/2014 20:46

Yep that sounds familiar! That's why I was assuming it was baby in a funny position, as it would be harder in places.

JLcoffeetableIKEAshelves · 26/12/2014 21:07

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome Smile...should take me a good few days to get into this, but will try to read and post most days. I need to catch up on all posts since yesterday so will find time to read the thread and get started with the conversation.

TheBooMonster · 26/12/2014 21:11

banana because the Pink lining website has 2 different types of bag with the same name. I wanted this bag www.pinklining.com/uk/bramley-tote-cream-bows-on-red but saw it on the website in cream with navy bows which seemed a bit more subtle as I plan to use it as a handbag when I don't have the miniBoo's with me, showed it to DH and he bought me said cream bag but the interior is completely bloody different despite them having the same damned name, opened it up yesterday to find it doesn't have a changing mat, or wet bag or nappy pockets or the removable bottle holder! It was £9 cheaper but I assumed it was because it was last seasons design, not because it was insanely less equipt >.< as it is the red one is now in the sale so we've bought the red one and a matching purse and the cream one is going back on Monday (which means a pain in the arse trip to the post office in the city to get it sent recorded signed for etc) I'm not sure if I'm more annoyed with myself for not noticing or the Pink Lining website for not having some sort of disclaimer that the two bags were different despite having the same name >.>

banana that sounds about right for normal person BH's.

BananaToast · 26/12/2014 21:19

Oh that's so annoying, I would have assumed they would be the same too. Glad you can get the right one though. Just been googling what to put in a changing bag - naive first timer alert Blush I obviously know what goes in but wasn't sure how many nappies etc people tended to put in at a time. I feel a bit more clued up now!

TheBooMonster · 26/12/2014 21:30

www.pinklining.com/uk/bramley-tote-navy-bows-on-cream this is the one we got, if you look really observantly at the inside picture you can see they're different, but I thought it was perhaps just a different angle and the nappy pockets were on the other side. The description also doesn't include the stuff in the red bag but I thought it was just a lazy description!

TheBooMonster · 26/12/2014 21:33

banana we used to do about 6 newborn nappies in the bag, now DD is bigger we tend to put about three in there for a whole day, or I chuck the wet bag in my handbag with 1 nappy, a couple of nappy pats and a small pack of wipes if we're just going out to the supermarket / tumble tots.

Hidingthefear · 26/12/2014 23:31

Hope you've all had a good crimbo, I got a maternity pillow too banana such a good night's sleep! He also got me a massage voucher but they don't have a maternity table so they told him they could give me a sweedish massage in a chair Confused might save it for after birth instead.

We braved the Trafford Centre this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought, got a changing mat from mamas and papas. Also got a tommie tippie electric best pump too, DH decided he'd also get the matching bottle cleaning brushes too, washing up is his domain so if he wants some fancy brushes that's fine by me :)

No leaking here by the way. I did also try finding a maternity bra/nursing bra today but no luck :( I need to be able to go somewhere and be fitted but don't know where. The old woman in Debenham was unhelpful and they were all tight, uncomfortable, inpractical. I've gone up to a 36DD according to Anne summers fitting and they are comfy but I'm not sure they will fit in a couple of month even with back extenders as I think my books are trying to spil over the top

BonjourMinou · 27/12/2014 07:08

Have given up on getting nursing/maternity bras that fit me now - I keep getting sliced by the underwire across the ribs! So in the end got a couple of cheap bras called "soft and cosy" from Asda here they are I think they are far, far from beautiful and will be no good at all for nursing but sooooooooooo comfortable now and will get me through the remaining 3 1/2? months.

Only £6 and previous experience has taught me i have no idea what size my breasts will be by the time I have properly settled into breastfeeding - they are very up and down in the early days anyway!

BrixtonBunny · 27/12/2014 07:36

Hiding / bonjour - is there a bravissimo near you? That's where I'm planning on getting my nursing bras from (actually that's where I get all my bras from as my boobs are ginormous Hmm). Might be worth a try?

Hiding M&S have a fitting service and they are super helpful nipping in and out finding you the right bra.

StuntNun · 27/12/2014 08:41

To measure your bra size first measure under your boobs. You want the band to be tight as that's where the support comes from so if you're between sizes you may need to go down a size e.g. if you measure 33" try a 32" band size. Then lean over so your upper body is parallel to the floor and measure around the fullest part of your bust. The difference between the two measurements is your cup size: 1"=A, 2"=B, 3"=C, 4"=D, 5"=DD, 6"=E, 7"=F, 8"=G, 9"=GG, 10"=H etc. This will give you a good starting point but bear in mind that manufacturers differ so you may need to go either side of your band or cup size to get the best fit. Don't believe anyone who adds four inches to your band size, this will result in a too loose band and a too small cup size, the bra will seem to fit when you try it on but it will get uncomfortable when you wear it for a long time. First put the bra on backwards to check the band size - it should be tight, if you can get your fist in under the band then it's too loose. When you put the bra on the right way round lean forwards to let your breasts fall into the cups. The band should be horizontal at the back, the gore should lie flat between your breasts, there should be no wrinkling in the cups and there shouldn't be any spillage of breast tissue around the edges of the cups. Sometimes you need to scoop the breast tissue into the cups to get a good fit and don't forget to adjust the straps until they're comfortable.

AnniaFausta · 27/12/2014 09:18

Happy Christmas to all!

We did get bump presents, although only from my brother and his finance - they wanted to know what we wanted, we'd already said everything we could think of to each other and my parents, so the next thing we really needed was baby clothes/muslins/toys etc. Apparently they both had Far Too Much Fun picking out adorable baby clothes, so that's a good omen for the future... and they also found a lovely cot mobile, and some useful muslins. DH is now feeling a bit better about having some equipment to hand, although of course what we really need to do first is get the nursery decorated ;)

cinnamongreyhound · 27/12/2014 13:16

I was thinking I'm getting them too BananaToast, I didn't have bh with my other two so don't really know. Bump goes very hard and tight and although it's not painful it makes it hard to do things and my breathing gets shorter. When they are very small I changed mine with every feed so 6-10 changes a day but they obviously won't be all out as some will be at night.

My milk took 5 days with ds1 TheBooMonster was starting to worry and then I woke up looking like Jordan with milk pouring out of me!! It came much more gradually and earlier with ds2. My boobs are currently growing again, really sore and constantly much hotter than the rest of my body!!!

Mother are were great when my milk came in Hidingthefear, lovely lady got me fitted in a bra that didn't cause me excruciating pain! I then went to fig leaves on line and spent a fortune to try lots and get send lots back when my boobs had settled at one size, paid about £35 each bra but only got two and wore them until I stopped bfing when ds1 was 15 months.

Good luck with that squatting. We are still battling with DD getting her to stay in her bed. She says it's boring and comes into our bed. I'm being hard and walking her back to her bed, DH does it a few times but then gives up too easily. We even tried putting a gate on her door but she calls out at the gate saying she doesn't want it on and wants to get in our bed. I'm willing to let her cry it out and ignore her last night she took herself back to bed eventually but again DH gives up too easily. Unless she shouts she needs a wee I'm trying to to get up with her.

What annoys me most was she was a great sleeper and was quite happy to be in her own bed and then she just stopped about 3 months ago out if the blue. We do need to get her out of the cotbed but we still have time and I can't decide what kind of bed I want for her next anyway. DH is useless and has no opinion on the matter. Confused
