TMI but I need to share it... while my bladder is behaving 99% of the time, if I find myself mid-stride and sneeze, I leak a bit. Which happened this evening when helping DH to turn the mattress. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. Thank goodness he is lovely and managed not to laugh or tease me when I explained the horrified expression on my face.

Sorry to all of you with incapacitated other halves - hope they feel better soon!

Lauren, as a first timer I have no advice other than contacting the midwife in the morning - hope you can get a reasonable night's sleep in the meantime.

I've got my 25w doctor's appt tomorrow - fingers crossed it'll just be routine.

Also just wanted to add that losing mucus plug in pieces and it regenerating is normal, and it doesn't always herald labour - I was told by a MW that if it has blood in the plug then you need to report it but otherwise it can be totally normal.

Mine didn't go first time around until I was in labour and it was the contractions that told me that not the mucus plug!!! This time it just doesn't seem to want to stay put... Shock though it has settled a bit the last week.

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I'll ask when I ring them tomorrow.

daholster · 04/01/2015 22:34

Interesting... Don't think they are official though, maybe just from this website? But still, it's British:

Siarie · 05/01/2015 11:59

Having a lovely day so far today, everyone is back at work so the shops are nice and quiet. Managed to get a beauty appointment this morning an hour after calling (woot) and I've been out and picked up all the bits I needed to on the errands side of things.

Which leaves the rest of the day totally free. Might even do a bit of ironing if I feel like it. This is deffo the honeymoon period of pregnancy I feel great!

Love the list :-) My current daughter's name and my favourite boy's name for this one are both on there!

I must say I am not loving being back to a 'normal' routine at all - struggling to keep my eyes open at work, and am quite worried about how I'm going to manage to cope and keep my energy up for the next ten weeks! Confused Very jealous right now of everyone who isn't working (though I'm well aware that for SAHM's your day is probably just as tiring as mine, if not more so!!)

I've even gone for a 20 minute lie down in the first aid room, though the "bed" is hard leather with no cushions so not very comfy... It's nice to be away from my desk though!

I went to antenatal yoga yesterday and now my hips feel very sore - I'm feeling very fat and unfit! Definitely going to try and go every week from now on, and make time to go swimming too. Though I know it's easier said than done!

I'm not enjoying being back at work either - had the worst night's sleep which didn't help. I just couldn't get comfortable - my ribs were uncomfortable on one side, not sure if baby-related or not! And every time I woke up baby thought it was a good time to start jumping around which made it harder to go back to sleep. Poor DH ended up on the sofa to get away from me fidgeting.

Squatting Jessica and Anna were both on our girls name list, but I did share your DH's Frozen-related concerns. I think it was used enough before Frozen for the film not to be the first thing that comes to mind when you hear it though (unlike Elsa, which is a shame - also a lovely name!). Will have a browse of the full list linked in a minute.

25 weeks today Smile

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 05/01/2015 14:08

sorry I'm not around, am very sick - haven't been able to keep food down for 3 days now. head hurts too much to be here. Got to love winter bugs, yeah?

good news is baby's doing fine.

BananaToast · 05/01/2015 14:12

Oh no Ebwy, sorry you're feeling so awful. Hope you get better very soon.

Just popped on to say I've just found Lansinoh cream on the John Lewis website for £6.66 with free delivery - seems to be closer to £10 in Boots etc whenever I've seen it. Going to buy myself some now - really spoiling myself!

BananaToast · 05/01/2015 14:17

Oh, only free delivery if you spend over £50. Maybe not then.

I'm loving being back at work, no tantrums or demands for food, drinks and play with me mummy. I've pottered answering emails, done a bit of financial stuff and caught up with colleagues. Then my big boss came down and gave me some maths questions I have to put online as part of our elearning directive. Had a right laugh trying to work out the answers. It's safe to say I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to fractions! But at least I can do percentages Shock God help me when DD gets to that stage. Who uses 7/8's or 3/5's in real life?

daholster · 05/01/2015 14:57

Hello! We (dd and I) just got back from buying her a potty and some toilet steps and an extra toilet seat cover, some night time pull ups and so,e day pull ups for nursery days, some cheapo jogger for me to whip down quick and 10 pairs of knickers for dd (5 of which are Peppa Pig so she is very pleased). She also has a million stickers to decorate it all with. She keeps calling the potty her toilet Smile She picked a turquoise blue potty and a bright pink toilet seat, as well as all the boy print pull ups - Cars not princesses or mini mouse! It all cost a small fortune though Shock

She also wanted to buy her brother some newborn shoes. I nearly let her since she was going on about "boy bruvver" all the way around Tesco and said these shoes were for bruvver. But I feel bad cos I sneaked them back at the till, I don't go in for newborn pram shoes, I'd rather he had warm booties and I personally think shoes on a tiny baby look a bit ridiculous!!!

Now she is in her cot NOT napping Hmm

Dh said yesterday that he has no interest in the baby's middle name. So I have decided that surly gives me license to choose what I like?! He is happy with Rory, Jack or Jamie as his first name. I'm also wondering about bringing up Evan again because we used to like that and I think it's growing on me again.

I would love to continue the nature type name with ds for his mn too. What I would love is something that means glade... But I don't think Glade is a good mn (even though it is apparently an old English boys name!) I'm sure I've said already dd is Kaitlin Meadow.

Rory Jet (after my recently late grandmother, Jetta - though she did hate her name so I'm not sure!)
Rory Mallen (not naturey... Means strong little warrior)
Jack Silvan
Jamie Rowan

Hmm I am not sure...

BananaToast · 05/01/2015 15:20

Aw daholster your DD sounds very cute trying to buy shoes for her 'boy bruvver' Grin Good luck with the potty training!

I love your first name choices - all are completely lovely (although I would prob go James nn Jamie rather than Jamie as a standalone name). DH doesn't like Rory and Jack doesn't work with our last name, and I've had to rule out James as he would shorten to Jim/Jimmy which I don't like, I'd want Jamie as a nickname. Not got many useful suggestions for nature-y middle names as they're all a bit brave for me (I tend to stick to traditional - boring to some! - names). Of the combinations you've suggested I think I like Jack Silvan and Jamie Rowan best. Rory Silvan could also work.

Think baby is bored at work, he's been kicking me in the side all day so far.

At least it's your side banana. Mine is using my pelvic floor as a trampoline. Feels like they are going to jump straight through! Confused

Have to say I was secretly comparing my bump to my colleagues bump and I think mine is more cute and more bump like. To me she still just looks like she has a bit of a tummy, but maybe it was the jumper she was wearing.

Siarie · 05/01/2015 16:26

Getting kicked in the cervix is the worst I think. That or the bladder it also feels weird when the legs are down as all the kicks are either in your back or front pelvis.

I only get kicks in the side when the baby is transverse. Then oh my god it feels like a belt across your stomach when you are trying to eat!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/01/2015 16:26

My James is a James, never gets called Jim or Jimmy. Assume if he's happy when he's older he might but while we call him James that's what he'll introduce himself as and figure it'll stick. I don't know any younger people called Jim only over 50's. Or did you mean your dh would shorten it BananaToast? I've always found it interesting how some boys at school kept their first names and others were known by everyone as their surname or other nickname. I personally like them to use their names, we liked Sam for ds2 but that would have been on his birth certificate, not Samuel.

Hidingthefear · 05/01/2015 16:45

cinnamon my hubby never ever gets called my his actual name by anyone other than me and all our friends think it's weird. he just gets called Burner, or Bernard, Or Turnip by everyone else.
