Lauren if anything the beanbag sounds brilliant! Sounds totally safe as all you'd be doing is smelling it - probably good to help you relax after a busy day Wink

Ah thanks Cinnamon! He's sitting beside me on the sofa watching the Top Gear Christmas special under a blanket with a lemsip having just eaten all his dins (god I sound like his mother...) so I have high hopes. Think I'll still be diving into spare room tonight rather than sharing the sick bed of doom.

Lauren well done! I keep meaning to sort my clothes out but never seem to get around to it.

Lauren82000 · 03/01/2015 20:35

Well some of the 7 that were in the loft had been there since just after DD was born Blush (3 years at least) my wardrobe still needs going through, I have dresses in there from when I was 18! (12 years old) Blush but that's a job for another day and we made a start with sorting the loft so I can get to the baby stuff. Managed to unearth DH's exercise bike so I'll be using that once the baby gets here me thinks! I'm actually quite proud of how much we cleared away you can now see the carpet and I only found 1 dead bug! Smile (Last time I found a huge spider big and black about 2 inches and a dead bumble bee. Both went up the Hoover)

smogsville · 03/01/2015 20:52

Have now got the fear about the creatures lurking in DD's old clothes.

May have to delegate the fishing out bags bit to DH once he's recovered. He's eating chocs now so surely be can't be that ill?

Lauren82000 · 03/01/2015 21:40

Smogs the bugs weren't in the clothes just hidden in corners and underneath things. Scares you more when you move something and there is a spider running.Confused Least you can just untie a bin bag and stuff it straight in the washing machine, no need to go bug hunting then! Smile

On a side note FiL rang tonight Step-MiL has been moved to a hospice and DH has been asked to be a pall bearer. Sounds to be very imminent now Sad still don't know what to go about DD, I want to go to the funeral too but it's not exactly a child friendly event and we've never been that far from her before. It's about 5&1/2 hours away from our house so would have to stay overnight. I know she would be fine with my mum and if it's a nursery day she wouldn't even realise we weren't there but you still worry about them.

TheBooMonster · 03/01/2015 22:23

brummagen dylon hand dye in a bucket is my recommendation, means you can keep a closer eye on the colour than doing it in the machine, and reuse the water for a paler batch.

TheBooMonster · 03/01/2015 22:33

lauren sorry to hear that your step-MiL's condition is so bad, I think leaving DD with your mum is a good idea, if my DD is anything to go by grandparent time is the best!

TheBooMonster · 03/01/2015 22:54

oh, for those of you interested in the blog it's littleluna89.blogspot.co.uk at the moment, I've found a cheep service to have my own domain name but I'm not sure what name to go with yet. It's not great, and there are only a few things on there but I've got a few posts scheduled to pop up over the week and am working on some posts for next week.

Lauren82000 · 04/01/2015 09:06

Boo she loves sleep overs at juju's. I just worry that we are so far away from her. DH is a bigger worrier than I am so he'll be on edge the whole time.

Wineandchoccy · 04/01/2015 10:31

Thanks misty for posting the info about the Mothercare car seat we ordered 2 yesterday so that we can leave them in both our cars. We had to order them and will take 2 weeks to arrive. We also have the silver cross simplicity car seat as this fits on our pram, we have not ordered a ISO fix yet as £145 seems a lot to pay so we might see how we manage without initially.

tickletink · 04/01/2015 14:51

Hello everyone! I haven't posted on MN for a looong time - the last time I did was before I was twelve weeks. Although I do still recognise some names - I hope everyone is well. :)

I'm 24+1 at the moment (EDD 25th April) and feeling pretty good. I was very sick with morning sickness to about 18 weeks, so I am very glad that has passed. I had about a week and a half of feeling calm and at ease, and then I started feeling our little wriggler turning over. I love feeling it, but it does make me a bit nauseous again! Fortunately nowhere near as bad as it had been.

We're not overly prepared like some of you seem to be - we've bought the occasional piece of clothing or bib but to be honest, our only big purchase is a pram system. We bought the Silver Cross 3D travel system and are waiting for it to be delivered - it's a pushchair which morphs into a carrycot plus a car seat. We've been offered to loan a second hand cot and moses-basket from a friend, so that's one (and a half!) things less to worry about.

I'm in absolute awe of how organised some of you seem to be!!

TheBooMonster · 04/01/2015 18:34

Blimey it was so awful it's scared you all off MumsNet! :P

welcome back tickleglad to hear the sickness has passed, mine relapses from time to time but I've been mostly sickness free since about 20 weeks. Some of us are only organised because we're not first timers so really we're cheating if that helps?

PenguinPoser · 04/01/2015 19:06

I had a read boo will be keeping an eye on your blog sounds like it is going to be interesting Smile maybe everyone else quiet as they are reading it instead of being on here Grin

Hello tickle Biscuit

Had a quiet day today which was nice as I've noticed baby being way more active which has been really nice as I think during the week I'm too busy to notice/think about it too much.

Had a bit of a mild panic before, I lost a big glob of mucus plug then I got a few BH Confused I think this one might not be staying put till the end. I never had this with DD! Least I'm definitely viable now though. Little one keeps kicking me downstairs and it really doesn't feel very secure at all, like I'm about to spring a leak any second. I know the mw wasn't really bothered about my BH's when I told her but I can't help feeling that losing a bit of plug in combination with the BH doesn't exactly paint a good picture. Think when I ring the hospital for my blood results tomorrow I might ask them about it.

Hidingthefear · 04/01/2015 19:26

Haha squatting that link was pretty funny!! sat chuckling to myself while I scrolled down.

Defo going to have a read of Boo and Bell later, but a nice warm bath is calling me to ease these aches and pains!

Nice to see you again tickle, glad your sickness went #i'mjelous.

I'm still a bit lost on the car seat thing. We have a mammas and pappas car seat which is part of the zoom trio and I assume it will fit my Toyota Yaris, so not sure if it needs a base or nything fancy. Should probably take a look some time as well as making sure the pram actually fits in the boot. After all that's the whole reason we bought a new car (We had a Yaris before but a 3 door and i didn't want to be clambering over seats to get the baby out of the bag)

TheBooMonster · 04/01/2015 20:04

oh no squatting hope you're able to get some sleep tonight! I am entirely guilty of physically kicking DH out of bed if DD is really bad during the night...

sounds a bit scary lauren definitely speak to the hospital when you ring tomorrow, but I think loosing some plug is meant to be normal, so it could be a coincidence...

BonjourMinou · 04/01/2015 20:06

Squatting, that link! Especially the bottom pic Shock, my bump with DD was never that bad, even at the end too much fat

Lauren definitely speak to the hospital, they're more knowledgeable than any of us or Dr Google and they'll be able to reassure you/take you in for a scan or something.

Haven't read the blog yet, Boo, off to do it now...

Lauren82000 · 04/01/2015 20:08

That's what I'm hoping Boo. I've not told DH and I won't until I know one way or the other. He is the worlds worst worrier, it will just play on his mind till we find out.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/01/2015 20:33

Having never seen my mucus plug as I didn't go into labour, can you be sure it's the plug and not just something slimy generally from your vagina Lauren82000? I get kicked often in my cervix and it's not a pleasant.

Sorry ds is still poorly SquattingNeville :(

26w+6 Shock

BananaToast · 04/01/2015 20:38

Love the link Squatting - the joys we have to come! Grin

I had a read of your blog Boo, think it will be really good! Looking forward to what comes next.

Lauren I would def ask tomorrow, better to check it out than sit and wonder what's going on.

Lauren82000 · 04/01/2015 20:42

Was definitely clear, jelly like and a big blob of it. Usual for me is more of a pale creamy substance that doesn't come in blob form. If that makes sense.

I just worry a bit about the BH as I never went into labour naturally and was induced with DD, my contractions started really painful. I know they can just start like BH (as in tight and slightly uncomfortable) least I haven't had anymore since those few.

daholster · 04/01/2015 21:19

Hi all! lauren try not to worry. I know you have had a lot to worry about so things like this are extra scary. I've been losing bits of my mucus plug for a few weeks now and have had BHs of varying intensity. Nothing dreadful has happened yet... But definitely ask tomorrow for peace of mind.

Don't have much exciting today, just wanted to hold Lauren's hand a bit!

Dd is poorly too squatting, night three of the cough and I am fully prepared to be awake from 3am til 5am for the third night in a row Hmm Dh sleeps through it too! I wish I had woken him last night but didn't think about it all quick enough cos he is at work tomorrow and I'm not so I can't really make him do it tonight... Doh!

25+5

smogsville · 04/01/2015 21:40

Lauren I totally agree re running spiders. I went on the London Zoo course to cure my phobia but then didn't really encounter any for ages and now am a bit hopeless again.

Agree with the others re call the mw. I don't know about BH or labour either I'm afraid. Re mucus plug I also don't know, except to add that I am currently wearing panty liners and sometimes i feel really wet, worry I've done a wee without even being aware of it and then find that it basically looks as if I've used the panty liner to blow my nose.

Sorry everyone that's minging isn't it.

I'm defo not organised at all because basically I feel like I know what I'm doing (save for the willy) this time around and none of the things I worried about first time around really mattered.

DH still got the flu (day 2/3). am trying to be nice by buying him new pjs (all he's wearing ATM), Sicilian blood orange juice and the entire contents of boots. It's hard work though. He's nearly as bad at being a patient as I am at nursing. We both agreed that separate bedrooms last night was a winner though.
