HI Guys, I am still confused, so please join me on this one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 12:49

Midwife visit went well! Although still some protien and lucosites (sp). MW put this down to me not peeing as soon as I need to. But BP was good so she's happy. Heard heartbeat which was lovely and Bump was actually head down, although how long s/he stays that way is anyone guess!
She has suggested I see GP about the boil on my boob.

DD is still calling Bump Toby so am now weedling away at DH to keep this name if it's a boy. Have scan tomorrow but I bet he wont let me find out out. Will just have to keep my beady eyes on the screen to look for clues - any tips?

My new changing bag arrived this morning - it's lovely, with a litle mini bag and chaging mat inside and I can't wait to get home now and start packing it with clothes and nappies etc. WooHoo.

EliBoo · 18/10/2006 13:32

Toby Milkshake is cool - hope dh lets you keep it

Am knackered again after night of heavy sneezing (me) snoring (dh) and waking up unable to find Cat (dd). Between about 3am and 6am was totally wide awake, thinking about Bump and birth and turning spare room into nursery....aaargh...why can I never sleep the night after an OB visit?!? Ok, I think I know the answer...

Names are beyond me today, too addled, but I wanted to ask if Bea is pronounced Bee or Be-ah (as in acute accent on Be)? Its sweet, not heard it before!

Castles, I can't remember my own name anymore, but in case we didnt' have the Agnes conversation...I love it in French, but really dislike the English pronounciation and as we're always going to be living in UK don't dare! Shame, eh. Oh, and I will try lying on my side (with dd22b scrabbling frantically underneath me) with my feet raised and think of you doing the same...made me smile...

Is Mischa cool? Ooh, that would be good...maybe we can have one cool member of the family to up our cool rating overall....

I have precisely ten minutes till small nephew and neice come over to add to chaos, but dh is taking over late pm so look forward to catching up later....hope no one faints, falls down stairs, or has any scares (sounds horrid judesmum, glad you're ok) till then. xxx

annaspanner · 18/10/2006 14:07

lol re. DPs/DHs waking you all up by snoring, leaving light on etc. I have become really heartless. DP has had horrible bug all week but every time he wakes up in pain/vomiting etc, I try to keep my ear plugs in as long as poss, hoping he will go back to sleep. I asked him to sleep on the sofa one night. All I can think about is getting some sleep. He can be terribly ill for about an hour and then drop off again-while if I wake up, my legs start to ache and I'm up for hours!

accessorizequeen · 18/10/2006 14:12

Judemum, hope you're alright now, falling down stairs a bit frightening at this point (although they're more protected than we are, I guess).
Low bp still causing major dizzy spells, mainly morning and late evening for some reason, thanks for asking Castles (hope yours is better too??!). Eliboo, can't quite see how to lie down on side with feet raised but I'll give it a go! Cannot lie on my back for even a few seconds without feeling faint. Not at work today, and feeling more relaxed as a result. I hope your boss is easing up milkshake.
My maternity support belt has just arrived, so if it makes a difference esp with hip pain I shall report back! Thought it might help me get around a bit more comfortably. But spd seriously nasty thing to have, I know a few people who suffered. Hope it turns out not to be that magnolia.

Loving all the girl names, all v.sweet, wish I was having a girl

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 14:17

Poor men - are'nt they useless when they're ill

My poor DH was woken at 2.30am by DD coughing - to whom I went in to and dutifully administered some cough medicine, juice and a cuddle. She quietened down again after a about 20 minutes only for me to start coughing. So by the time his alarm went off at 4.15am for work he was dragging his arms like the proverbial Orangutang - with complexion to match...awww

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 14:25

Hi AQ,

Let me know how you get on with the belt. MW recommended one for me but the only apt I was offered at the physio clashed with my specialist - typical. So as I had'nt had pain for a while I just let it go. However have noticed the pulling sensation creeping back a couple of times a day.

Boss has gone off to a conference in Europe for the rest of the week. So we are all bringing in cakes, biscuits and sweets cos we dont have to share with him! It's amazing how peaceful and calm the office is without him.

At my return to work meeting he said I was to take things easy and leave all new work and focus on business as usual, preparing a manual of what I do and providing the one remaining report from the last quarter, oh and clearing my desks up (I need two I have so much work) and training my replacement....... so that means I'll be taking it easy..... Regardless have told him I am starting ML 2 weeks earlier anyhow! And explained if I go sick before then there's not much he can do, he he he.

Also loving all the names, and am going to have to start thinking of some too. ATM I just have Toby Edward or Dylan Edward as I am so convinced this is a boy.

summerlovebaby · 18/10/2006 14:33

Hello everyone,

New person here . Am due on boxing day (first baby) and it's been ok so far except now I'm having trouble sleeping and my left rib is always sore because bumps growing so then my upper back hurts and because the bra sits just on that area, it's sheer agony to wear the darn thing!

Any tips would be appreciated! I'm still at work for about 3 more weeks. btw is anyone planning on going to the babyshow this coming weekend?

indiemummy · 18/10/2006 14:55

hi, can't believe we're all suffering so much with pelvic pain/ fainting/falling down stairs/boils (Vanilla, i had a nasty cluster of spots between my boobs, NICE! gone now though)/getting up in the night/unsympathetic DPs (well some of us) - & still weeks to go, argh! And will prob get worse!

I've been getting this agonising lower-back/pelvic pain, makes walking difficult, also getting out of bed - hmm, handy as 3yo DS has started waking up about 3 times during the night again and demanding a drink of milk and DP refuses to go because he has to work and lucky me gets to stay at home all day... and have been avoiding pg yoga because the other ladies are so lithe and fit and have no problems and i am the furthest gone and embarrassed that I can barely stand up and weigh more than the rest of them put together... Thought may be SPD - anyone got this definitely? Do they need to examine you to diagnose? Sounds weird but spent most of last pregnancy with my knickers off being poked and prodded down there, but this time round no-one has examined me yet and I'm a bit scared of when it finally happens - oh and have only been weighed once, at booking in. Last time they weighed me every time. Is this normal? Feeling a bit neglected!!!

DS started preschool yesterday - today is the first time I have left him there! Had no idea what to do with myself so decided to have cup of tea, put Joan Baez on and see how you ladies are doing. Should really be doing housework. Bah! Going to collect him now, hope he's been good!

Love from indiemummy Xx

indiemummy · 18/10/2006 14:58

hi summerlovebaby, i live really near Olympia but not going to babyshow, though i have a friend who's going who always goes, she says she always leaves with bags full of free stuff and loves it! She's not even pregnant!

I can't go 'cause I work weekends and on Fri DS is at nursery in the afternoon - didn't think it was worth paying just for a couple of hours in the morning. But let us know how you get on if you go! Nice to meet you! Xx

summerlovebaby · 18/10/2006 15:15

Thanks indiemummy . Poor you with the pelvic pain. I had a lady in my yoga class (sorry I promise I'm not lithe or anything and def the wobbliest of them all ;)) she said she'd been 'diagnosed' with SPD although whether they examine you in order to determine that I have no idea.

I'm planning on going to the show on Sunday, will let you know how it was, I hope they have free massages or something

xx

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 15:33

Hi SLB welcome!

The baby show sounds like a good day out, might take DH and DD - do you know the admission cost?

Cannot imagine even managing to sit crossed legged let alone trying PG yoga positions!! But have decided that I might try ante-natal swimming this weekend, gotta do something.

Thank god for satsuma's they have solved my motions (or lack of) crisis.

judemum · 18/10/2006 15:38

welcome summer. boxing day hey?? Poor you- don;t go mad on the old xmas dinner, or you won;t make it to boxing day.

We are full of ailments aren't we. I think the most comical is the boils or possibly falling down stairs (I was carrying a basket of laundry at the time, just to add to the comic scenario AND I let out a bit of wee, when I landed ). And who said they had pooed three pieces of coal??!!

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 15:57

Hi Judemum,

It's me with the boil (aka developing 3rd nipple) and passing 5, not 3 lumps of coal.

But as I said satsuma's are now readily available and on offer in most shops so not producing anymore re-useable enrgy at the mo

summerlovebaby · 18/10/2006 16:05

Thanks VM and judemum

The admission cost to the baby show is £12 in advance and £14 on the day, kids upto 10 yrs old can go for free. Here is the link if you're interested:
the baby show I am soooo glad it's satsuma season!!

judemum, yeh xmas dinner I'm not even thinking about that, keep hearing conflicting reports on whether first babies arrive early or late..I just keep picturing a very hungover MW and me offering her pain relief instead I'm just sat at my office desk shaking madly with laughter at the 3 pieces of coal poo! xxx

Loulou000 · 18/10/2006 16:57

Hi everyone. We've moved! I don't recommend it. Poor DP has to do all the work, but somehow I'm still feeling fit to drop. Now we just have to unpack about 300 boxes, find some clean clothes, and get a new shower cubicle fitted. (And there is no door on the shower! How did we not realise that this would be a problem when we looked around? How did the landlord not realise?) Argh. Nesting and packing of hospital bag will have to wait for some weeks yet.

Do you all know how your LOs are lying? My bump is just round and non specific and I have no idea.

spinamum · 18/10/2006 17:08

welcome,SLB.

I've been absolutely starving today. I've eaten soooo much and about every hour and I'm still famished now trying my old hot chocolate trick,it usually fills me up.
i went "hospital bag" shopping today for my essentials like more pads, mouthwash, glucose sweets, etc. threw stuff into bag so if i go quickly i've got some stuff. I will have to organise my bag properly in a few weeks but as I've probably got another 11 and a half weeks, there's no real rush.
Had a bizarre dream last night. My baby was delivered by emergency c. at 30 weeks(ie now) due to reduced foetal movement(my most recent stress).I was groggy cos I 'd had a GA(was threatened with one last time)I gave him a cuddle and a feed and the next morning when I went to change his nappy,"he" turned out to be a girl. it was really vivid and I was slightly surprised to wake this morning to find out I was still pg! So we can add hallucinations to the third nipples, falling down stairs,husband/partner lack of brain use and Milo addictions.

Off to pick up DS1 and cook a small mountain of pasta for the two of us(or three really)

stokeymonkey · 18/10/2006 17:09

Afternoon All,

Can this thread take yet another newbie? Have been reading all afternoon and it's cheered me up no end!
Am due on 28th December (1st baby), we have agreed names for a boy but are stumped for a girl, so thanks for the pointers!
Have been suffering from ligament pain - MW just tutted and told me to buy some big pants. SO helpful when I spent nearly a week housebound because I couldn't walk! Horrible cow. Maternity belt has been a lifesaver, but it makes you pee even more because you have to do it up so tight.
Constipation is also a total nightmare, but am managing by eating vast quantities of dried prunes. The downside is that they make me fart so badly and so eggily DH can barely bear to sit in the same room as me! What's worse? Being bunged up for days or having a stinky a*se? I know now is not really the time to be embarrassed by bodily functions, but god...
Anyway, possibly TIM, but am so glad to have found you!

spinamum · 18/10/2006 17:12

x-posts. Glad to hear from you again Lou. My own nesting has been limited by the lack of room to nest into, but I created my own version, building site stylee!

hope your door situation gets sorted for you.

EliBoo · 18/10/2006 17:34

Welcome, Summer and Stokey

And congrats on having moved, Loulou - must feel like a mountain of stuff to sort now, but at least the actual moving bit is over! Who's left to move pre-baby? Carameli? My memory is getting worse and worse...

Definitely getting there girls, the amount of ailments between us is enough to fell a pregnant elephant: sure sign of being in the last month or two!
Lol re dhs....you all seem to have dhs who wake up and wake you up: mine never seems to hear a thing, plus is self-employed and chooses his own hours which never include early ones. So if dd coughs/has nightmares, I'm the only one who gets up - ditto in morning, when I attempt to motivate household into getting up for pre-school/various other routines. Even my coughing doesn't bother him - just pushes his earplugs a little deeper in and zzzzzzz

Though I'm just and because had so little sleep again last night, and need some so badly. If anyone catches me chatting on here after 9.30pm tonight, please boot me off!

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 20:10

Hey all - meant to say earlier - go to Superdrug and get all the travel sizes toiletries for your hospital bags - save disrupting the bathroom and decanting all the stuff into other bottles. They also have a few bit from the Johnsons range so bumps bag, which I have packed tonight for the first time - but I doubt the last has been sorted too!

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 20:10

OOh and Hi StokeyMonkey too!

VanillaMilkshake · 18/10/2006 20:30

And another thing (or three) - sorry treating it like my own personal thread today

I am one of those people with clicky knee joints, and like DD before, Bump seems to have inherited this. Every so often I feel a movement, accompanied by this little click, I think it's quite sweet - DD is no worse for it happeneing to her - anyone esle getting this too?

32 week (and 6 days if I'm precise) scan tomorrow. WooHoo.

Also have just ordered the Dalmation comforter from the comfortblankets website, so DD now has her gift for Bump. And Bump has been very efficient and has already bought DD a Dora the Explorer football playset.

EliBoo · 18/10/2006 22:25

Vanilla, we must have the same due dates - am 32 wks 6 days tomorrow too have a great scan! Feels more like 38 tonight for some reason, though.

No clicky joints here, but bump got hiccups at 3am this morning and for a minute I thought I had a very strong pulse in my groin - then realized it was far too slow for that, and too strong. Clicky joints sounds so sweet...

Wishing everyone some decent sleep, off to try and get some myself

spinamum · 18/10/2006 22:35

Eli, Bed NOW!

jabberwocky · 19/10/2006 02:36

Hi everyone and welcome newbies!

Good to have you back, Lou. I can't imagine moving right now We're having a time of it just trying to remodel. Dh has the nursery almost ready to paint and have carpet put in, but now says he needs a break before doing the master bedroom If that's not done in time we're all stuck upstairs after the new babe gets here, as I can't very well put ds and the baby downstairs while we sleep upstairs!!!!

Have officially fell in love with my Crocs. It's so weird. I had decided after I bought them that I really didn't like them at all - pre-pregnancy. Now they feel oh-so-good to my feet
