HI Guys, I am still confused, so please join me on this one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

During my 1st pg I forgot how big I was, and when pulling a roasting tin out of the often pulled it straight onto the bump. Owww! I have a lovely scar there now! My DH was convinced that he was going to be reported as an abusive hubby - this from a man who won't kill spiders but 'rescues' them

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 16:18

I did that with an iron when PG with DD, I had a lovely red line going horizontally accross my belly, in stark contrast to all my stretch marks which are vertical!

weirdbird · 01/11/2006 16:34

I keep breaking things when I wash up as I have to stand further away than would be normal and so am then washing up at full arm stretch, this seems to have made me loose my spacial awareness and I keep breaking things

and I was the same in the night, at one point there was a wicker box I had to navigate around, normally no problem, but every night I walked into it until I had a line of bruises across my thigh that looked like I was being beaten, gave up hoping I would learn and we just moved the box temporarily!

castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 16:36

WB, I remember salivating over a really juicy looking plant at a friend's house when I was pg with my 1st! And, my friend's sister went to the garden centre to buy bulbs for the garden when she was pg - she just couldn't resist and had to sink her teeth into one when she got home

judemum · 01/11/2006 16:37

totally sympathise with all these posts about bashing things. Sitting way back at my desk now. The worst thing I find is with the outy belly button- my two year old just pokes it (pretty hard) everytime he has the opportunity as he thinks its some sort of communication button for the baby (surely he's too young to know about intercoms). Am trying to be all cool and motherly, promoting the bonding experience between them, but it bloody well hurts.

castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 16:39

Sorry you feel awful Lucy - are you worrying??

My tummy is really bad today. I don't think it can be contaminated water as Thames Water came on Monday to test it & I haven't touched a drop from the tap since. I have to give a stool sample to my GP now. Lovely.

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 16:49

Ooh an outy belly button - if mine does that I shall have to stop looking at my belly as the idea make me feel physically sick (just my belly button not all of yours)

Can some please help I have got in to a right old ware of word in a relationships thread, yet again over IL's . I was sticking up for the original poster with whom I share similar views and have talked with in the past and all of sudden everyone who shares my opinion has disappeared. Hormones are making me quite snappy on there too.

tinshoes · 01/11/2006 16:56

vanilla - take 10 mins away from the post. I just scanned - everyone is getting over-dramatic - seems to happen a lot! Not your hormones you have some valid points but sometimes people dont want to listen....

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 16:59

Thanks Tinshoes

Well off home now and wont get back on till about 7.30, if at all. Thanks for saying I had some valid points - and am not just a waffly old duffer

Poor Castles, do you think its a bug? There's one going round dd's pre-school (afflicting parents, not children, weirdly - hangovers in disguise maybe?!) that lasts about a week, horrid.

And poor Lucy too...whats up? Is your bp ok? I'm beginning to get edgy about mine, top number often over 140 though comes down with rest, and bottom number ok. Definitely not stable anymore - hate that bp stuff. BTW, have sent mag - hope it gets to you pre-labour/induction so you have some light relief during early stages

Had to laugh about bumping bumps...constantly banging my outie (sorry, VM!) belly button against corners of worksurfaces, car doors, the lot. And clumsy...just gave dd cup of chamomile tea, told her to be careful, then managed to chuck most of mine over the sofa...

VM, whats up? Will check your thread in Rels if dd doesn't yell for me for next five minutes..

DiamondsAreForever · 01/11/2006 21:19

Hi again,
just before I catch up on the 5000 posts I have missed recently! Just wanted to sympathise with Castles- I have also had a terrible tummy bug recently, it's been bad for the last month or so. I had tests and took antibiotics for a urine infection but it's still hurting. I think it's a bug and I am willing it to work its way through. Plus drinking gallons of water which seems to help a bit. I hope you feel better soon.

I had a rather over-active load of Braxton Hicks the other day, bent over my desk at work- it was pretty uncomfortable for me but the look on my male colleague's faces was well worth it! I work for a wine importers so probably drove them all to the tasting room for a glass or two- ha ha!
Still, I sloped off home early and had a lovely few hours sleep before picking up my dd!
Only next week to go and I'm a full time mum with bump, I am really looking forward to it- my dd (14 mnths) is saying a new word every day (today's was socks, I am very proud!) so I think I have timed it just right, I won't miss out on any of this fun stuff.

Also this week I bought a fabulous new double buggy from Cosatto- bright red (dd's is red too so she'll feel at home!) thought I'd better give it a test run with plenty of time just in case!
Better get into gear for a cot too pretty soon as dd was out of her moses basket within 10 weeks and I have a feeling this one's a bruiser too. I am so lax this time around- with dd I had the entire nursery kitted out at about 6 months and I hardly have a thing ready this time- and it's all getting a bit too close now isn't it?!

anyway, I am going to catch up on all your news now, first must toast another tea cake...

lucy5 · 01/11/2006 21:33

Hi all, got brought down to earth rather quickly this afternoon as dd had suspected appendicitus and we had to whizz her up to the hospital. Thank god it wasn't! Doctor thinks it's probably her glandular fever making it's yearly recurrence. So looks like I will be in for an intersting few days. It's amazing however grotty you feel that your Mummuy head kicks in when it has too.

I am like Anna and have a half in half outty at the mo. can really sympathise with all the bumping and washing up is getting ridiculous. Anyway hope alls well!

theoriginaljabberwocky · 02/11/2006 03:06

Another half inny, half outy here too. Last time it completely poked out, am wondering if it will this time. I rather hope not. As everyone says it's just another thing to bash into everything around you.

anna, I started wearing earth shoes last year and totally fell in love with them. Am currently wearing a pair of black Mary Janes that are so comfy and forgiving on swollen feet!

Still haven't gotten my nickname sorted out. I guess next year I just won't change it as this happened with my halloween change last year.

castlesintheair · 02/11/2006 08:18

Diamond, sorry to hear you are suffering with dodgy guts too. And for so long as well. Strange. My DM said she had similar trouble at the end of her pg with me, so maybe it is somthing we just have to put up with and another one of those little pg symptoms??

Lucy, hope your DD is ok. Nothing like it all happening at once ...

Elibean · 02/11/2006 09:10

Lucy, sounds stressful - hope dd is ok now? Totally agree abotu Mummy-head; didn't get to sleep till 3am (itchy) but somehow, when dd woke up at 5am upset because she'd wet through her nappy onto her bed, and didnt' want Daddy only Mummy, there Mummy was. Till 6am.

But I am a DEAD Mummy-head today.

castlesintheair · 02/11/2006 10:10

Eli, I know what it's like. I seem to have alternate nights of good or bad. Last night was good so I'm running around doing everything before my energy zaps! Hope you manage to get some sleep today. I nodded off on the sofa y'day afternoon, woke up and it was dark

Off for some Milo and the ironing. Yipee!

theoriginaljabberwocky · 02/11/2006 10:20

Same here. Had a great night two nights ago, now I'm up since 3:00 am

Loulou000 · 02/11/2006 10:22

Ha ha we should have known that this would not really be the last thread. I think we'll fill up another three by the end of December.

Elibean · 02/11/2006 10:51

Ah, I love this group you make me feel so...normal!

Loulou, you are right: should we start another thread ladies?

VanillaMilkshake · 02/11/2006 11:00

Hey All,

Have also been awake since the early hours - we should all get on here and chat at that time!

Had an urge to cuddle DD when DH went to work so bought her in to our bed. Unfortuneatly she was not interested in sleping any more come 6am, when I finally felt tired again. So were are both like bears wth sore heads.

However have taken her out and treated her to £35 worth of goodies in woolies - so not intentional. DH will not be happy. But we now have 2 Thomas DVD's thomas sock, pink mouse slipped socks and some tights. Oh well it;s the last splurge I'll be able to have on her so might as well be proud about it

theoriginaljabberwocky · 02/11/2006 11:07

Oh, forgot to post about meeting our new pediatrician yesterday. She's really great, very willing to work with me on an alternate vax schedule and I think we're going to be quite pleased. I was getting anxious as I had gone to the wrong building in pouring down rain and had started to think it was some sort of sign

Elibean · 02/11/2006 11:19

lucy5 · 02/11/2006 11:38

Deffo need a new thread, it is taking ages to load!

theoriginaljabberwocky · 02/11/2006 11:39

I was thinking that myself. Maybe the next thread is when we all get babies?

FWIW, I am officially sick and tired of being pg - and I feel better knowing that I'm not alone!
