I love Lola, and DD would definatley approve as she loves Charlie and Lola on CBEEBIES!

indiemummy · 16/10/2006 16:23

Hi all, Lola and also Leila are nice I think... our shortlist for girls names includes Pearl, Ivy, Isabel and (my favourite) Peggy! But with ds we decided at last minute - he's called Joe... so no idea really.

Sleeping is difficult! One night I'll be asleep by 9pm and go right through till morning, the next night I'll be twiddling my thumbs at 2am unable to sleep. Quite nice watching TV at 6am and eating cereal in my dressing gown while DP and DS still snoring though. Peace at last! Xx

bewilderbeast · 16/10/2006 16:34

Baby not moving as much as usual. Wasn't worried until I saw the mw for my check up 20 mins ago. Have to monitor movement over next few days and go to hospital if it doesn't pick back up to usual rates.

Calmriver · 16/10/2006 16:40

Bewilderbeast- That has happened to me a few times a while ago and in my last pregnancy. The baby could just be having a growth spurt, they seem to get very sleepy when that happens, and quieten down completely. I I know its scary, but I'm sure all is fine.

BWB, hope everything is okay, I am sure it will be. And I am sure you have already done this, but if not.... Find the position you felt baby move the most in previousley in the most, for me it's lying on one side or the other, and take some time to yourself to rest and focus on your tummy, hopefully bump will wake up from lack of motion and have a good old kick around.

I did this with DD when she stopped moving as much as I was used to. I also played some music right on to my tummy, and it was'nt long before she was haveing a good old dance - come to think of it she's never stopped since.

X

bewilderbeast · 16/10/2006 17:00

Thanks ladies, it's nice to have a reassuring experienced voice(s) when you're feeling stressed. Am going to take it easy for a few days as MW thinks I may have been doing too much and therefore lulled him to sleep more than usual. Its so hard to know what's right and what isn't when you've never done this before.

castlesintheair · 16/10/2006 17:03

BWB, Jabberwocky gave me a tip once - drink a glass of water and lie down on your LHS. Worked for me almost instantly. Hope everything is ok & Beanie is up and jumping about again soon

lubella · 16/10/2006 18:54

BWB chilli or chocolate always wakes my boo up, a glass of cold water is also a good one,,,I think it makes them uncomfortable and they shift around. Hope you ahve a nice rest over the next few days
xx

lubella · 16/10/2006 19:01

btw eliboo I was thinking of some options for you:
Daliah
Farrah
Melize

weirdbird · 16/10/2006 20:29

BWB - I'm sure it will be ok and I really don't feel like I know anymore 2nd time around!

lying on my back, reclining and relaxing always makes my bean wake up and kick.

CR - Sorry I missed you, was making dinner by 4.30. Do you want to do some tomorrow morning? around 9.30?

And are you on MSN?
I am dazmaniak at hotmail dot com if you are

Or anyone else that wants to chat!

VanillaMilkshake · 16/10/2006 21:07

Dont mean to be crass....but as we have all agreed that we share all things regarding pregnancy. Thanks to a combination of constipation and iron tablet I am sure I passed 5 large lumps of coal earlier this evening
And now my piles are in top form!

spinamum · 16/10/2006 21:24

BWB-my bump went quiet for a few days too. Was going to contact mw but didn't. I put it down to him being in a differant position and sleepy. He seems to have perked up a bit now but not as much as usual. It is getting a bit more cramped in there for them too. Hope all is well.

JM,I think i prefer fraser to ewan. We were going to use ewan for ds1, Then a woman in tesco's MURDERED it by screaming it at her 2 yr old(EUUUUUUUUUUUWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!) and put DH and I off it for life.(no offence intended to those with little boys called ewan) We've got a few pals with little boys called Ewan now and there's only one boy at nursery called Fraser. So it's not too unusual but not the name of every second child.(says a woman who called her first son one of the most popular names in the world!)
Sticking with the theme of popular names, we thinking of Tom as DS2's name.(At least that's what DS1 is telling everyone he meets-you try to keep your first born involved and it means having to negotiate with two men over your DC's name!)Completely stuck on middle name. Needs to be celtic(my influence) but not too strange(DH).

I had a nap yesterday and DH found DS sitting in cot "just checking it for Beanie to make sure it's OK for my baby". AHHHH! kids! makes you broody!
I'm stocking up on mat pads at boots at mo. Buying them in batches because noone would believe me if I bought them in one go! Bought four packs on Thurs at a local store and everyone(customers) was staring at me as I balanced them on my bump. I guess it's not a concept that occurred to me until I was pg with DS1. That or the experienced mums were thinking "ha 40 pads that'll last all of three days!"

Maroon, sorry to hear that'd you've been feeling weird. It seemed so far away a few months/weeks ago and I think we're all waking up to the realisation that we are actually very close to having actual babies(even those who have had them already IYKWIM everyone) On top of that to be told it might be sooner than expected AND the news about your mum-you've been through it a bit recently emotionally. Hope everything is beginning to settle down for you. See your mw if you're still feeling strange. Big Hug.

Calmriver · 16/10/2006 21:29

BWB- also a hot cup of anything gets mine going! In fact, sitting here having milo as I type and she is doing something in my tummy which is REALLy uncomfortable. Something big has just shifted to the other side of my tummy.

Weirdbird- I can't tomorrow AM-otherwise engaged! Will fill you guys in when I get home!
Oh, and yes am on MSN- [email protected]

DH commented tonight that you know your due dates sneaking up when the cheese has a later use by date that you.......what can I say.... I was speechless he was measuring the length of the pregnancy by cheese!

lucy5 · 16/10/2006 21:34

Hello all!

We like Leo for a boy and I like Martha or Scarlet for a girl, have yet to convince dh

We actually named our dd Poppy, which wasn't on our list at all last time, so I guess we will wait and see.

Lying flat on my back seems to make this baby wiggle.

Calmriver · 16/10/2006 21:40

Spina- Totally agree! It seems oh so surreal, but we will have our gorgeous bundles in our arms soon! I keep telling mine and did with DD1 that as soon as she comes out,she can have a nice big long STREEETCH! The funny thing is when my DD1 was born, thats all she seemed to do for days! She knew exactly what I had been saying to her! OH, they are SOOOO sweet! I'm getting so excited now!I wonder who will be first!???

Blimey, loads more to read!!!

Baby quiet here too, think its coz they get less room as the weeks go by.

Have spd I think awful crushing pain in my pubic bone when I walk. Ouch!!!!

Dh suffering with my mood swings too

spinamum · 16/10/2006 21:50

VM, LOL at the cheese comparison. I'm loving all the junkmail(ok stuff from boots) saying "Christmas is also here!" (Bring it on!)

I won't the first to pop I'm sure. I think some of the Jan girls will beat me to the finishing line (if i'm being honest with myself)

spinamum · 16/10/2006 21:55

I'm getting v. v. excited too. Keep stroking the spotty pram blanket and taking a peak at cot.
Also have moments of thinking they are generally a bit easier inside rather than out, so I'm relishing my last few weeks as a mum of one (rather fab) three yr old. Before the real sleep deprivation begins and I wake up one morning looking two years older!

Speaking of which. intended to have a stupidly early night!

magnolia1 · 16/10/2006 21:56

Think I might be the 1st or 2nd along with eliboo?? Botth due c sections late november early dec. the latest I will have mine is 1st dec Bloody hell its not that long away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lucy5 · 16/10/2006 21:57

Oh by the way, I had yet another scan today and they are guesstimating that the baby is now 2.5 kilos, Yikes!

magnolia1 · 16/10/2006 21:57

I'm so excited too spina Bought our travel system 2 days ago and I was going to put it upstairs but it's still in the lounge. I keep playing with it lol.
