Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 18th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 35th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Puppy pads are good substitutes and WAY cheaper than "maternity mats" - even tho basically identical!!

RPopz · 30/12/2014 14:03

Pads and nipple pads are 3 for 2 in Boots as well...

Sorry triple postage!

willywallace · 30/12/2014 14:27

Tesco maternity pads are fine and usually really cheap. Haven't ever used those bed mat things - are they just like the ones for toilet training?

I bought a couple of bigger sized nighties from Primark last time with button tops. Wasn't allowed to wear them in the end as they made me put a gown on in case I needed to go to theatre. Think I wore them in the hospital afterwards though.

Disposable pants sound terrible Popz Grin , let me know how you get on with them!

Zyla you're so organised! I've only just written my list this afternoon. Might go on a quick trip to tesco to make myself feel better.

willywallace · 30/12/2014 14:29

Oh also La, you'll meet people once baby is born. I didn't know anyone locally before the birth but met people at bf group and classes etc.

willywallace · 30/12/2014 14:37

Haha love your baby prison.

I detest sophie the bloody giraffe. Have you seen the price of them?! tight arse

Only things I can think of are cellular blankets for tiny stage, containers for expressed breastmilk, slippers for hospital and maybe stuff like hairbands, eye mask, earplugs if you want. Tens machine if you want one? Don't know if that was in your list.

What is Badedas?

Leela5 · 30/12/2014 14:39

sophie le giraffe is kind of an in joke with my friends - when they started having babies sophie was 'the thing to buy' and they all said they hated it for the very reason that snobby mums were saying they had to get one. So I've got a friend who'll get me one as a laugh.

Lauren suggested the Badedas - Lauren can you explain what it is?

The list is my original one with everything everyone suggested added, so it's a group effort!

DulcetMoans · 30/12/2014 14:52

There's an 'ultimate list' in pregnancy that I just saw in Active if you want to cross reference!

ZylaB · 30/12/2014 15:32

I'm not organised wil I just have control issues! ;). I'm going to have to learn to stress less over things when my little girl is here hehe.

RPopz · 30/12/2014 15:32

Oooh La you're so organised! Breast milk storage bags/ containers like Wil says. Sheets and blankets for Moses basket/ crib - think those sleeping bag things have a weight limit on them. You can get giant muslins which are good for swaddling apparently.

Haha wil - they're not as papery and hideous as they sound Grin I was going to get some cheapy ones from primarni but the Boots ones are about 2 quid for 5 pairs and 3 for 2 so I got them along with foof and nip pads Wink

RPopz · 30/12/2014 15:33

Cot mattress as well. Ours didn't come with one included.

willywallace · 30/12/2014 16:32

Haha Zyla, you'll be a model mum. Give Gina Ford a run for her money!

Anyone seen nice yet cheap newborn sized unisex sleepsuits anywhere?

Ah popz so not like those ones you're made to wear at the beautician if you have forgotten you're going for a bikini wax and have worn totally unsuitable pants then? Nope? Just me then.

RPopz · 30/12/2014 16:44

Boots have got a half price sale on at the mo. And Mothercare sale is on too - they seem to only have tiny and newborn sizes left in most stuff. So bargains to be had if you think you'll have a tiddler (unlike me! Shock).

willywallace · 30/12/2014 16:54

Fab thanks will have a look. Abdominal measurements on last scan were on 75th centile so not expecting a tiddler but was caught out last time not having enough small clothes. Hate spending a lot though as they're worn for such a short time. Do you have a snowsuit or anything? Not sure what size to get in that.

Minion · 30/12/2014 17:55

Hi all! With a warm snuggly baby to kiss there's no time to mn.
Sorry for the absence.
R is such a chilled bean. Sleeps all day long, then wakes for her butler to serve meals, dares to scowl at us then promptly drops off again.
Lazy Madam

We have figured out she loves being swaddled as she has a crazy startle reflex and prefers her moses basket inside our bed nest, prob cause she's dinky and feels secure.
We also put a hot water bottle to warm her sheet up.
I dare say I'll catch up at around 5 am tomorrow

laurenamium · 30/12/2014 18:50

Badedas is an antiseptic bath bubbles/ wash that you put in a Luke warm bath after you've had the baby and its magic on your stitches/ cuts etc. I swear it helped me heal quicker! It seems to be recommended a lot around here for pregnant people!

laurenamium · 30/12/2014 18:52

zyla my straw would be induction- but I will do anything I can to try avoid a C section for the recovery times after!

laurenamium · 30/12/2014 18:53

Ah sorry Zyla! I managed to flip Fred when I was reading back Blush

willywallace · 30/12/2014 19:09

Thanks Lauren, will hunt it out.

Mmm Min, hope she's not lulling you into a false sense of security with all that sleeping Wink . Only joking, just jealous as MiniWil spent pretty much the whole day awake when she was little. You sound as if you're loving every minute.

Who has had a CS before? What was the recovery time? I know they say 6 weeks but was that accurate? I was about 5 weeks last time with a normal birth so interested to know if it is really much worse.

laurenamium · 30/12/2014 19:42

I've just found a bottle of the badedas and its horse chestnut! It could be totally a placebo effect though!

ZylaB · 30/12/2014 19:48

It's fine lauren -I'm going to try the induction, and then if it ends up being a CS, that's how it ends up! I think it's the intensity of the recovery wil if that makes sense, they say you can't drive for 6 weeks with a CS, but it can take longer to be fully healed. Like everything varies from person to person though!

willywallace · 30/12/2014 19:54

In my head I think at least with a CS scar you can sit down Grin . But I've never had an operation so I think I'm probably underestimating how full on it is.

RPopz · 30/12/2014 19:58

I've got a snowsuit as a gift at baby shower Wil. Its 0-3 so hoping that will do!

Minion · 30/12/2014 19:59

I'm almost back to new of that helps. Walk around the day after, have a shower etc, I can sit in cars now but I won't risk driving just yet cause if the emergency stops.
A cs isn't that bad really, in all honesty.

KatoPotato · 30/12/2014 20:02

I had an elective section with DS because he was breech.

I was on my feet the same night and off pain meds within days. You need to check with your insurer about driving but my HV said I was good to go after 4weeks.

I was so happy with my op and recovery I'm not even entertaining the thought of a VBAC.
