Here's hoping you hang in there till 37 weeks smiling. I know of people who have been in early labour for days which sounds horrible but hopefully you nothing will happen for a while but when it does it will be alot quicker. I got told to have a bath to slow down labour last time but it didn't work but could be worth a try.

We are childfree and off to a hotel this weekend. Kind of like a last supper before the sleepless nights and being attached to a small helpless baby starts again. Grin Still not sure I am thinking about a baby yet but hopefully will start to after spending the afternoon sorting out baby stuff. (I am counting down to mat leave and spending more time with dd but don't seem ready yet to think about there also being a new baby in the family.)

33+1

I don't have my visit from the midwife till Monday afternoon so won't be able to have a home birth till then, he needs to stay in for 2 more days.

Still having mild cramp like pains but they are irregular so I'm ignoring it for now according to midwifes instructions. She said I'm so close to 37 weeks that we should treat it as full term and just wait it out for awhile.

Part of me hopes it is early labour but another part of me is desperate for it not to be now that I'm so close to being able to have a home birth.

Plan for today is feet up and lots of rest.

tannyLoo · 28/02/2015 11:50

Good plan! x

chiliplant · 28/02/2015 23:31

Can't believe its all happening for you all. I'm sure u will be fine and handle it like a trooper!
Does anyone get intense emotional feelings that don't last for long but when u think about it you can't put your finger on the emotion?!? Does that sound weird?!x

Yes, Smiling, any news? x

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/03/2015 13:48

It is false labour and I'm now on bed rest as every time I stand up I have contractions. We are trying to get to 38 weeks but it depends on beanie, if he decides to come they won't stop him and after tomorrow's home visit from the midwife I can have my home birth Grin

I'm really uncomfortable though and the midwife, my mum and mil all reckon he will be here by next weekend.

LittleBairn · 01/03/2015 14:27

smiling sounds like things are really gearing up for you. Enjoy the rest.

I now have a changing table and feel like I can finally relax, it was my last must have before birth item.

33 weeks today.

tannyLoo · 01/03/2015 14:38

How exciting Smiling! Grin

I'm not even within sniffing distance. I checked my cervix in the bath this morning and it feels just the same, so I'm not even holding hope for my sweep on Tuesday. Sad

Hi again guys and congrats on the milestones. Scarily/excitingly close Smiling! Fingers crossed for an uneventful night and positive visit tomorrow.

Luckily I'm still fine, touch wood, though bump getting in the way now. 2 bumps finally became 1 2-3 weeks ago so finally celebrating -losing my waist- looking pregnant not just fat.

Had been wondering re checking cervix myself in early labour though don't like the idea/would worry about poking/damaging something. tanny don't you kind of have to fist yourself to do that?! But depending on traffic hospital's 45 mins & don't want to go in due to being in pain only to be told 'you're only 1cm go home'. Hopefully if they did that might give you strong painkillers? As paracetamol had no effect in mcs - when told consultant she said we'd rather you came in if in too much pain - but can't help thinking in reality mw might send you home. NCT instructor's suggested massage to help in early labour and willing to give it a go but from mcs can't imagine it making the slightest positive difference! -(So far NCT pretty useless though, waste of £200)-

33 weeks today (snap Little :) )
Not bought anything more than cuddledry towel and few clothes yet though, no cot, carseat etc. But plan to after 34-wk scan next Mon. Meantime boss asking how long am going to take off so he can advertise - don't know till DH's employers say what they'll do re SPL. If they enhance it (mine won't), fear won't be taking as long off as I'd like!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/03/2015 16:55

babie yes term is 37 weeks which is why I will be able to have a home birth and that if I do go into labour they won't stop it but they've left the home birth visit till the last minute because of beanie being breech so still need to get things ready for that. I'm ready, they aren't Hmm

I'm on bed rest because I'm so uncomfortable when I'm up rather than to stop going into labour plus my blood pressure was slightly high.

tannyLoo · 01/03/2015 17:11

Toucan lol to fisting! I can't say I went that far! Just had a feel with two fingers. I can feel the head shape just sitting there, but my cervix still feels like it's high and far back (couldn't find it), but it does feel soft. I used to check my coil strings so have had occasion to have a forage before Blush

This rash on my belly is making me very uncomfortable, it is itchy and has spread from my belly down my thighs and heading around my back Sad I've never had this before, and it just feels like another reason to crack on...

Smiling I hope the home visit is a success!

tannyLoo · 01/03/2015 17:23

I'm also on my fifth big bottle of gaviscon...

Toucanet · 01/03/2015 17:36

tanny thanks! Never felt that far before myself but maybe just got stubby fingers. Will leave it a bit nearer the time & ask mw first!
Sorry about the rash, horrid trying not to scratch isn't it. Nothing works to ease it? Guess you've tried camomile lotion/savlon/bio-oil? Frozen peas for a little while?

TinyTear · 01/03/2015 17:51

Went to IKEA today so now have a wardrobe for newbie...

And a playtent and mini table and chairs for DD...

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/03/2015 18:04

tanny have you tried having a bath with some bicarb of soda in it to ease the itching? I've just had a quick Google and can't see any reason why you can't use it in pregnancy. It's my top tip for rashes and chicken pox Smile

tannyLoo · 01/03/2015 18:12

Bicarb is a good tip. I have been warned off anything with scent so have been using a basic barrier cream and it helps at the time but the itch comes back after a few minutes. And it's super sensitive so I am struggling with clothing and bras. I wish I had a supply of silk pj's!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/03/2015 18:20

Pure coconut oil might also help, I have eczema and haven't been able to use my usual cream whilst pregnant so have been using coconut oil, it's really soothing.

LittleBairn · 01/03/2015 21:18

tanny another one saying coconut oil I use it on my skin too, used to be in awful condition before I started using it. A little goes a long way so a jar can last a long time.

tannyLoo · 01/03/2015 22:13

I'll see if I can send my useless at doing anything that actually helps DM out for some tomorrow. I really can't face going out at the moment as a bra feels like I'm wearing a hair shirt, and these puppies aren't going to hang loose! Thanks lovelies!
