i had my first insulin last night but it was only 4 units, so the nurse said to start like that, then call her tomorrow and probably up to 6 or 8...

Dances Congratulations on the birth of your DD Flowers

Smiling we are hoping to go to Mothercare in the next few weeks and see whether the pram fits in our car. If not, then I probably won't be getting it. I can't be bothered with the faff of taking the wheels off!

Shetland · 17/02/2015 13:01

Congratulations dances :) Glad she's doing well. Hopefully you can all be at home together soon xx

LittleBairn · 17/02/2015 15:31

dances congratulations! This is the first I've heard of your news, our first thread baby. Please do keep us updated.

LittleBairn · 17/02/2015 15:35

London I think the Bugaboo Buffalo is a one piece fold instead of a two piece fold like the Cam.

LondonSuperTrooper · 17/02/2015 15:49

Little I'm thinking of getting the cameleon and not the buffalo. Which one are you getting?

LittleBairn · 17/02/2015 16:49

I'm getting the Cam the Buffalo just seems a bit bulky. Plus I prefer the daw string basket on the Cam. The two part fold doesn't bother me as I most walk everywhere or catch a train. They are really very well made pushchairs they last for years.

dancestomyowntune · 17/02/2015 21:07

Thank you all. She was put on two hourly feeds last night, and the nurse that had her today said she feels she could be ready for three hourly feeds from tomorrow so that's looking good. I'm hoping she will be able to start taking a bottle from next week with any luck.

She has put on weight, she is now 2lb14oz so almost at the 3lb Mark which seems like a milestone (although no idea why!).

StuntNun · 17/02/2015 22:34

Congratulations Dances, it sounds like things are going well.

tannyLoo · 17/02/2015 23:04

It sounds like you have a strong baby there, dances, congratulations and I hope you all get to go home soon x

LIG1979 · 18/02/2015 03:14

congratulation dances - 3lb still sounds so tiny but glad she is doing well.

trying to take the advice I gave smiling and watching TV. since the weekend I haven't managed to sleep more than 5 hours in a stretch. not working tomorrow but dd has decided to not nap unless at nursery/in the car or in the buggy. Hoping if I get up for a bit now, I will be able to go back to sleep. Got another crappy cold which isn't helping.

Tiny - how is the insulin going? does it have any side effects except potential hypos?

It does look like many of us will reach our due date does it?

TinyTear · 18/02/2015 07:00

Dances looks like she is doing great!

Lig only had 2 shots so far and hasn't done much... Will email the nurse to up my dose today (glad I can do these things by email)

No side effects but a big leaflet about hypos and what to do if they happen...

OP posts:
TinyTear · 18/02/2015 07:01

How old is your dd LIG?
Mine dropped the nap at 2.7 and now if she naps at all it fucks up bedtime!

OP posts:
Shetland · 18/02/2015 08:16

My DD2 is 2.3 and in the process of dropping her nap. She's at that awkward stage where she is grumpy if she hasn't napped but wakes through the night if she has.

TeaandHobnobs · 18/02/2015 08:58

DS has just dropped his nap at 2.9 - he doesn't nap at nursery now, and only sometimes naps on other days if taken out in the buggy (rare) or we drive anywhere after about 3pm. But even then, it is only about 30/45 mins. His sleep is still hit and miss - some nights he will sleep all the way through, some nights he will wake in the early hours and come and sleep in our bed, some nights he wakes at 6 and wants to get up and have breakfast. We are not very consistent re bedtime though - it can be anywhere between 7:30 and 8:30, and a couple of nights a week he falls asleep in the car on the way back from visiting my dad, and I transfer him straight to bed in his clothes Blush
Feeling totally knackered today as I was up until 1am working, then DS decided it was a 6am kind of day

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/02/2015 12:26

dances sounds like you have a little fighter.

I seem to do 2 Long stretches when it comes to sleep, 9pm - 1.30am then I wake up needing a wee, get back into bed struggle to get comfortable again, get comfortable, heartburn kicks in, take something for that, wait for it to kick in, get comfortable again, need another wee, get comfortable again and eventually fall asleep at about 4.30am till 9am. It's manageable now I'm on mat leave and am able to sleep till 9 but I'm so glad I decided to finish work earlier, my original plan to work till 37 weeks seems ridiculous now Confused

Dsd has gone out with a friend for the day and mil has taken dss out so DP has decided to finish the last of the building work in our side of the house so there is dust everywhere, it needs to be done before beanie arrives but I've just got rid of the dust from the last lot of building work Sad

LondonSuperTrooper · 18/02/2015 13:39

Smiling your bed time sleep sound very much like mine. But it's always heartburn that gets me up during the night :(

Yay to the end of building works - the end is in sight!

LittleBairn · 18/02/2015 13:47

dances that's brilliant news.

LIG you know I'm really pleased for us all for such a rag bag bunch of super high risk pregnancies we have all come so far.
I've got very little chance of meeting my due date. My stitch comes out and pessaries stop at 36 weeks and I'm not expected to last much longer. That's if I get to that stage.
So technically my new due date is mid-late march instead of 21st of April.
But to me 36 weeks is amazing, I already feel overdue. Grin

Tiny are you giving yourself the shots? I make my DH do my Clexane, I don't mind needles but I'm making him do them anyway. I was fine for the first couple of months but the last week they have really started to hurt I think my hips are worn out.

smiling you must be exhausted. I remember the 2 part shift sleeping from my 2nd pregnancy no matter how much sleep I had combined I never felt properly rested.

I'm doing better, back isn't too bad now but my shoulders are now acting up (I do have an old injury so not surprising) its just bed rest breaking down my body I was never meant to be on it this long but its worth it.
Yesterday and today I've started to feel the excitement and happiness I felt during my first pregnancy before my problems started. I never though I could feel this way again during pregnancy but I do and it's a great feeling.

We're getting there, this is the last of the big dusty, noisy jobs. Just small finishing bits now, some plastering, tiling and painting. The plastering will be done over the next couple of weeks, the painting can wait till the summer when the doors and windows can stay open as it's only cosmetic and the tiling as and when DP has the time. It's probably 4 weeks worth of work but we've both reached a point of just having enough now after 6 months of major work for mil's side so as long as the dusty stuff is done before beanie gets here we can live with unpainted walls and an untiled kitchen for a bit longer, it's not even the whole kitchen just about half a wall that had to be taken out for the electrician.

I don't do things by halves, a house move, moving in with mil, building work and a pregnancy Shock no wonder I'm so tired!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/02/2015 14:00

little I count every day as a bonus day, I never thought I'd reach 20 weeks so to reach 30 was a huge bonus now I feel happy in the knowledge that if my baby decides to come he's odds are great, I feel blessed to have got this far everyday and I keep looking at his moses basket and having to pinch myself because in a few weeks I will have a real baby to put in it.

TeaandHobnobs · 20/02/2015 12:49

How has everyone been the rest of this week?

I think I'm over the peak with work now - just one more week to go and I should be able to cut right back. In fact, I will have to - my au pair leaves next Friday, and the new one (due to arrive on Wednesday) is now no longer coming! But actually, I think it will be a good thing for me to have more 1-on-1 time with DS before DD arrives (fingers crossed), even if I find it quite hard work!

My dad is doing well in hospital - he was really perky when I visited on Wednesday evening. Still waiting to hear from social services what nursing homes are available for us to check out.

37 weeks today! How are you doing tanny? Surely there will be more thread babies soon. Hope DD is still doing well dances Thanks

TinyTear · 20/02/2015 13:26

I have been SHATTERED, a few bad nights and will take a while to recover... have a bit of a cough so i should be grateful it doesn't develop to something worse...

can't wait for the weekend... and even though DD has been lovely today asked DH to pick her up from nursery so I can work late and have a more relaxing commute Grin

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 20/02/2015 15:21

tiny sorry your not sleeping well, I think we can all sympathise x

I am really suffering with heartburn and my blood pressure keeps dropping, add to that the strong braxton hicks I keep getting and I'm very grumpy Angry I've actually slept through the last couple of nights 10 till 8 so although still tired not feeling quite so exhausted.

I feel really bad saying this and I've never felt this way before but dsc go back to their mums tomorrow and I can't wait, as the weeks gone on I've found myself getting really irratated by them. It's entirely me and nothing to do with them but I'm sick of constant noise, music playing, TV on, tapping of phones, games on tablets. DP is bugging me too so I know I'm being unreasonable.

I've managed to persuade DP to take mil with him when he drops the kids off tomorrow and since they live 3 hours away it means I have a whole day to myself.

Shetland · 20/02/2015 16:11

day to yourself sounds lovely smiling

I sympathise on the sleep tiny I keep waking up around 3 and then absolutely cannot get back to sleep :( Very annoying.

I have proper week left in work, then 3 weeks studying, exam and then finish completely - can't wait.
