It's going to be a long night in my house. OH came to bed at 7.30 as he has man flu. I can't get passed the snoring. The more it goes on the more I want to punch him in the face. I'm going to be so tired and grumpy tomorrow!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 20/12/2014 22:24

On the boobs front I gave up on a proper bra and have just got some nursing sleep bra's (image doesn't matter as I'm basically house bound) - I've gone from a d/dd to a GG! Far too big. I've been using talc under them for the sweaty strip, to stop skin getting sore - pregnancy is lovely isn't it.

DH is out at his works Xmas party. I got him to leave me with DS's old baby clothes to sort through - omg there's a lot. I've been sorting them on the sofa but its somehow messed up my hips again - in serious pain with them and can't physically stand up now - stuck here until DH returns, which will be early hours. Sad

I can't get over how tiny newborn clothes are - i could have sworn DS was never that little!!

freneticfox · 20/12/2014 23:01

Thank you Memphis, I keep trying to reassure myself that my body is doing what it needs to, but at only 32w, I still have a way to go!

Had some cramps today, nothing dramatic though, assume it may have been BH. at least I bloody hope so...

Memphisbelly · 20/12/2014 23:08

Frenetic last time I put on a lot more weight than this time, my boobs went to great proportions once milk came in then within a week or 2 (i didnt breastfeed) my boobs were normal again. The last thing to go back to 'normal' were my hips seemed bigger but they did go back. I also remember thinking oh shit at thr body changes.
The boobs, dinner plate nips, hairyness, spots I had and they all went back to normal Grin also you say 'only' 32 weeks....you and your body have made a baby in those weeks....now it is mainly a case of baby getting a bit chubbier...we are all almost there, this is the final hurdle.... And remember this is the xmas we an all over indulge without too much guilt Wink

Viperama · 21/12/2014 05:47

Up for about an hour now, BORING

JacktheLab · 21/12/2014 07:52

Morning all,

Typical, I manage to keep a cold at bay for months and as soon as I finish work, down I go!

Hope everyone is well?

I've been reading but I'm a bit befuddled so can't remember everything I was going to say!

Memphisbelly · 21/12/2014 08:46

Seems lots of us are full of cold here, I am mega grumpy today and so is ds so dh has took the dog for a run to escape! Grin Slept ok for first time in ages though. Got fil coming over shortly then a meal later with the inlaws and a visit to mil in between.....fun fun fun Confused

LittleMissSunshine33 · 21/12/2014 09:59

Yep I'm full of cold too shame I can't have lots of mulled wine for medicinal purposes ofcourse!

Is everyone off for Christmas now?

Grinningcat · 21/12/2014 10:30

Unfortunately no. I'm working up to Xmas, but I have a Mw app on Tuesday pm so I'll work from home, and we all get to leave at lunchtime on Xmas eve so it's not too bad. I plan on spending Xmas eve morning sorting through all my papers/ drawers as it should be quiet and I need to do it before I go on ML at the end on Jan.

Viperama · 21/12/2014 10:34

Out of curiosity, how many of us have colds that got the flu shot?

I don't count as I'm stuck indoors, and I didn't get it. My indoor cat on the other hand got flu shot and is just out the other side of a week long cold that required multiple vet visits. She's never been sick, she was in an awful state, she's young and strong and it was heartbreaking. I'm so relieved my furry baby is better. What am I going to be like when little duck comes out PARANOID

Memphisbelly · 21/12/2014 10:52

Viper there are loads of strains of flu and the jab only covers a max of 3 strains thrn the cold virus is another type of virus again so it wouldn't cover colds too. I get one bout of a cold every year as a rule but im worried coming into winter and end of pregnancy being run down that I will get another one on the back of this one.

Memphisbelly · 21/12/2014 10:53

Little miss I am working Tuesday, also getting veg and Turkey during my break then on way home I have to go to the cemetary...wishing now I hadn't offered (will be dark by thr time mum could get there) it is up a massive hill in thr middle of knowhere with no phone signal I can see me slipping over and being on my back like a stranged turtle Grin

Grinningcat · 21/12/2014 10:57

I got the flu shot back in Sept and (touching wood) haven't had a virus yet. Actually apart from tiredness and I guess the expected pregnancy aches and pains (first pregnancy here), I'm actually healthier than usual - I haven't had a migraine since getting pregnant and my hayfever didn't appear either.

donkir · 21/12/2014 11:15

I'm working up until Tuesday then I'm off until the 5th. So far I've missed out on the bugs and had the flu jab. I am getting more ulcers though and woke up this morning with a cold sore because I'm tired and run down.

JacktheLab · 21/12/2014 11:29

I got the flu jab on Monday and started getting sick on Wednesday, but its just a coinceidence I think. I only got it with the whooping cough as its good for the baby to have some extra immunity against these things, otherwise I don't usually bother for myself.

Frenetic, you are super keen on spreadsheets I think? Someone is, anyway, before I left work I made up a daily chore sheet, just been doing my list of tasks this morning with Jacob helping out - if I manage to keep to it once the baby is here will be a bloody miracle, but at least I might get the house into decent condition before it goes down the pan in February!

sandulacek · 21/12/2014 12:32

Hi all!

So we survived the 4.5 hour journey on the train (mind you paid extra for 1st class to get more space) and now we're in rainy Scotland. Lovely Hmm. But the xmas can start.

A bit selfish probably but I hope I won't catch any sniffles from my 2 nieces.

Viperama · 21/12/2014 12:32

Memphis be careful on Tuesday up that hill. Pls msg after when you can so we know you're okay and not turtled!

33 weeks today, have my stitch out in 25 days, not that I'm counting. Cannot wait to go for a walk, and coffee with mates, and shop, and movies and and and....

Memphisbelly · 21/12/2014 14:19

Viper don't worry I will just roll back down the hill Grin or I could knock on the vicars door and do a mini nativity type of plea but rather than a stable he could open the double gates and let me drive to the entranceGrin
Mum took ds this morning to visit my uncle so we have had a childfree day so far delivering presents and pottering, feels so weird being out without a child in tow

BanglesSpangles · 21/12/2014 16:54

Hey all
jack i like spreadsheets :) even if i dont actually pay attention to them, they make me feel in control when i make them!

Have had a nice afternoon at the theatre, and bathroom is grouted- fingers crossed it'll all be plumbed back in tomorrow

and a slight spanner in my christmas cheer- sil called to say nephew potentially has chicken pox, so i may have to rethink my christmas dinner plans!

Memphisbelly · 21/12/2014 20:08

Bangles were you suppost to go to sil for the day then?

Just been to sil for tea we had beef brisket it was AMAZING! Cannot believe christmas is days away I am so excited!

Memphisbelly · 22/12/2014 02:46

been up an hour grrr

BanglesSpangles · 22/12/2014 04:34

Hmm... Not really sure why im awake, but have been for the last hour so decided to get up for a bit.

Whooping cough injection (rebooked for the third time!) at 10 so at least i'll get a bit of a lie in if i need it

Memphis, we were meant to be at the in laws for christmas dinner, then my mums for the evening... I have had chicken pox when I was a kid so should technically be immune, but apparently it was really mild- Ive been exceedingly relaxed about most things so far, but this seems a bit too much of a risk- nhs direct says basically avoid chicken pox infected people in the third trimester. Luckily inlaws are only the other end of town to my ma so its not too much of an imposition on my plans and DH will still be able to see his family on christmas day for a bit

Hi ladies,
Just warning you of long post!
Bangles and Mwmphis, i feel your early waking pain. If it makes you feel any better, i havent slept a wink in 2 nights.

Cutting long story short, I'm currently in the High Dependent Unit with as the doc described it.. rip roaring pneumonia. My stats are very poor and I've been warned that there's a good chance that Bean will have to be delivered 2moro to take the pressure off my struggling lungs. petrified doesn't even com close to how I'm feeling. I'm hooked up to heart monitors, and have 4 working drips in my arms. Had to be rushed by ambulance to another hospital for a C-T-scan on my lungs.

All i want is Bean to stay put for another 9 weeks. I'm only 31 at the moment. I'm not allowed visitors as I'm in isolation but thankfully DH can come in. Looks like it'll be a hospital Christmas for me.

Sorry about long post. Wanted to explain my lack of posts. Lots of time for me now to catch up with all the news.

Hope everyone's well!

JacktheLab · 22/12/2014 06:10

Blank,

Feel better soon! How worrying for you and for bump, but I'll have my fingers crossed for you both x

purpleteapig · 22/12/2014 06:59

Goodness Blank, I'll be thinking of you today and hoping you & baby are fine. Did you have flu initially and that was how it developed to pneumonia? X
