just marking my place! We went house inspecting today to get started, nice to feel well enough and I really liked the area!

Chookford · 29/11/2014 18:01

mrsB congrats on good scan news!!

ChatEnOeuf · 29/11/2014 18:49

Place marking, still not glowing...

TheDetective · 29/11/2014 19:37

I bought some baby bits today finally. I got my changing bag! I went for the Baby Mel Cara. I can return it for something else if I change my mind. I'm a bit indecisive sometimes Grin.

I got a baby book as both my others have had them much earlier in the pregnancy than this one Hmm and have picked up mat pads, pain killers, breast pads etc.

I'm about to do a little Next order with some newborn baby grows :)

Shit's getting real. Grin

Oh, and was it Jazzy who said about the cold water sterilising? I think I've decided to do the same. Picked up some sterilising tabs, and I'll keep an eye out for a suitable lidded bucket. I was going to get a steam one, but I hated my previous two, so let's try something new this time! Any down sides to cold water sterilising that anyone knows?

ots · 29/11/2014 19:40

I'm finally in the second trimester Grin Not sure about glowing but definitely less sick than before! Just had a massive roast followed by 2 bowls of trifle haha.

Glad to hear news of more good scans. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

AnythingNotEverything · 29/11/2014 19:58

Detective - I did cold water sterilising with my first. It's dead easy, but it's hard on your hands. Invest in some nice hand cream Smile

TheDetective · 29/11/2014 20:13

Anything I'll tell DH. Sterilising and bottles (if we go that way!) are his job. Always. I never did them. With either baby Grin.

I'm going to BF, but it wasn't working out for me the baby bloody loved it! last time, so I'll be ready if I decide to stop/combine/express whatever!.

I was sick again this morning. I didn't actually vomit until 10+1, and then again today at 10+4 Hmm. So yeah, return of the sickness indeed.

It can fuck off now though! Come on week 12!

AnythingNotEverything · 29/11/2014 20:15

Good plan.

If I bottle feed it will be easy to remember to change it, as all the bottles got washed at night and sterilised, so just change it the next night at wash time.

Problem will be if I am using it for expressing, or occasional feeds etc! I might put a sticker on top with the time and date on each time it is changed!

Tranquilitybaby · 29/11/2014 20:38

Oh wow buying stuff already detective! You're organised. In too scared to buy much until after 12 weeks just in case. Although I confess I have bought a Sleepyhead Pod in the Amazon deals thingy as plan to co sleep because of breastfeeding.

Chookford · 29/11/2014 20:49

dectective buying things woo hoo, well done im not that organised I will be waiting until after Xmas before I start getting bits mostly because I'm lazy and partly for the sales that will be on in the new year!

Hi! Just checking in on the new thread. Finally on a laptop so have updated my stats.

Had 12 week scan yesterday and turns out I am 13 + 1. Very wriggly baby and some nice pictures. Telling dd tomorrow…very excited!

Evening ladies!

Had a lovely day and relished a day of not feeling sick. By the sounds of it, it will return.

Tried not to laugh as DH got his hair off fitting a new mechanism (we now need a new door thanks to holes from over zealous filing to fit a slightly wider mech Hmm). I managed to fix some blinds I've put off mending for over a year. Only took 10 mins and half of that was finding the missing bits. Well chuffed. Most productive I've been in weeks.

Buying baby things sounds exciting. I'm waiting til after my scan but if I'm honest, I don't know where to even start with stuff. Vests? Babygros? I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Sorry to hear people have had a rough day, either themselves being ill or the children. Sad

Interesting to read about the cold water sterilising. Didn't know that anything other than the steamy ones existed.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 29/11/2014 21:26

Zach - forgot to add, great news 're your scan! Grin

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 29/11/2014 21:29

Gosh, I won't be buying anything til much later! The rational part of me knows what will be will be, but the irrational part doesn't want to tempt fate!

I am still feeling really sick :( And have this permanent need to wee. Also quite a lot of pain on the right hand side of my uterus and in my hip today. Am rather fed up with feeling rubbish! Come on the glow!!

Can't remember who mentioned in the last thread about pregnacare and nausea. Anyway, I have to be really careful to take mine after a main meal (breakfast doesn't work, it seems) or they make me really sick. I'm just using up leftovers from 3 years ago then I'm changing brand! It wasn't so bad last time (although I still had to take them after I ate), but other ladies I knew were really ill with them. I'm trying the boots own brand next as I have a coupon for free ones!

jazzyjenbo · 29/11/2014 21:34

Zacc, yay on the positive scan!

Detective - it wasnt me who fid cold sterilisation, but sounds like u have it all planned out, i used a microwave steriliser with ds and not at all last time.

I made my first baby purchase aswell today, some white knitted bootees.

I've always been an early buyer! This is the latest I've managed Grin.

I like to spread the cost of things, pick up bargains along the way etc!

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/11/2014 21:51

My DH has told his brother it turns out. He's just received no acknowledgement. I think it is fair to say my Bil isn't pleased for us.

Oh well!

Great news about your scan Zacc Smile.

I really want to buy something to sort of celebrate the scan going well but I just don't know where to start!

Tranquilitybaby · 29/11/2014 22:11

Great scan news Zacc and a week further on too, bonus!

Cool Tori, what did you go for? I was a pramaholic with my last too but only really interested in a couple of styles this time round, but they're so bloody expensive.

Tranquilitybaby · 29/11/2014 22:12

Ah that's rubbish Alis, probably jealousy, so let him get on with it. Not in any rush to tell DH's bro and sister that's for sure, they're not close at all.
