Congratulations to everyone who have got their BFPs since I last posted!

Blueberry I got my BFP last Thursday and I saw the GP Tuesday. As it's my first (after TTC for 3 years), I was eager. But the GP was lovely and I already have my appointment to see the midwife on the 23rd December.

clairexxx · 04/12/2014 12:24

Hi Blueberry! Nice to see you on here from the other thread. I'm seeing my doctor this afternoon. It's probably too early considering I just found out yesterday but I do have a medical condition so I was told I would need to be monitored carefully.

After 20 months you must be over the moon! I hope your cold goes away quickly! x

BethanyBeth · 04/12/2014 14:07

Hi everyone, nice to meet you all. My first post on here! I think my EDD is 2nd August 2015 - 5+5 today.

After everything I've been reading on here and elsewhere, I'm terrified of something going wrong. I have my first appointment with a midwife on 19th December but that will just be a chat, taking blood etc. It feels like so long to wait until I'll have more certainty.

Shantotto · 04/12/2014 14:20

Welcome welcome everyone!

Will someone please tell me to stop weeing on sticks - I did this morning and the line making up the cross was so faint I got really worried. :(

No bleeding or coloured discharge at all, mild cramp on my lower back and stomach bit like period pains but I'm so worried. I have problems with anxiety anyway - and I don't think I'll see a midwife until mid-jan.

I'm hoping the early scan will ease things for me.

IceLemonGin · 04/12/2014 14:26

Beth I'm 5+2 and it does seem like forever to wait. I found out a week ago and it feels like months!

Shantotto I did a test earlier this week and it was really faint but then did another and it came up really dark. Must have been a faulty one. I've been having cramps and twinges but I'm trying not to worry...easier said than done though, I know.

casiopeia · 04/12/2014 15:07

Hi ladies,

Can I join in please please? I am 4+6, have known since Saturday, Very excited but also worried, have had brown spotting/discharge since getting my first BFP at 13 dpo, and occasional superlight cramping- can any of you relate to this? I called GP this morning but apparently nothing to worry about and they booked me for blood test next Wednesday.

shantotto it is the same for me, lines at 13 dpo were much darker pink that this morning at 18dpo; I feel like I worry too much and google too much; but the lines being lighter combined with spotting drives me crazy worried. Hopefully all is fine for both of us.

mzzzf · 04/12/2014 15:12

Hi ladies

I got my EDD slightly out and think I'm due on August 1st rather than end of July, so here I am if you'll have me!!

I too have done multiple tests, yesterday I 'maxed out' on clearblue digital getting the "3+" on the screen. Have also booked a private early scan for mid December, which isn't far away at all now!

I've run home from work today as I'm sick as a dog with cold. Anyone got any ideas of great home remedies for running noses, congestion, aches etc?? Can't run to my trusty sudafed now I'm growing a bean!! Grin

birchwoods · 04/12/2014 15:37

Gakay, Claire, I'm utterly useless at work at the moment, just can't concentrate. MN and the multitude of (now exhausted) pregnancy apps on my phone are just too much of a distraction! I'm hoping I won't be quite this obsessed for the entire 9 months!

Welcome newbies and congratulations! Smile

xBlueberry88x · 04/12/2014 15:44

mzzzf good to see you! Im dying of man flu to im just snorting olbas oil loads seems to help.

Hi claire ive now booked an appointment at gp next friday earliest they had how annoying!

birchwoods · 04/12/2014 16:03

Did any of you have to have your pg confirmed by the doctors? I called the other day to say I'm pregnant, can I book an appt and they made me drop off a urine sample to make sure I'm not an idiot who can't read a pg test! Anyway, I called this morning and their test was positive and I have an appt on Weds. Excited! How soon do we have our mw appointment? Will that be at the doctors or hospital?

Luciferbox · 04/12/2014 16:26

Everyone seems to be getting appointments way earlier than me, my GP doesn't want to see me, I'm being directed to the midwife but not until Jan 8th when I'll be almost 10 weeks. I feel like I'm in limbo.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/12/2014 16:32

Hello ladies, hi blueberry nice to see you here.

I got my bfn on Monday after 20 cycles. And 3 days after my first fertility appointment! Edd according to nhs calculator is 5th august.

I have had an increase in discharge, slightly sore boobs, occasional very mild nausea. The most noticeable things is the extreme yawning!! Oh and i feel bloated and a bit windy lol!

IceLemonGin · 04/12/2014 16:33

I didn't have mine confirmed but I did tell the doctor I'd done 5 different tests including 2 digital...she probably thought I was insane!

I have my appointment on 23rd December and I will be exactly 8 weeks. I think it's because it's at the GP surgery and it's a really quiet little village...I expected a trip into town and for it to not be until around 10 weeks. I think every area is different though.

Time is crawling by. Hope everyone with colds feel better soon!

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/12/2014 16:35

meant to say, I used a boots test Monday lunchtime. The positive came up very quickly and clearly. I've not tested since - is that odd?! Phoned drs Tuesday and they booked me in to see my GP tomorrow. Seems to vary a lot doesn't is?

BethanyBeth · 04/12/2014 16:37

Hi everyone! I've read a lot of messages on here about people going for early scans. Shantotto and mzzzf, if you don't mind me asking, what led you to decide to do an early scan? Is it just for reassurance or based on something else? I'm torn between thinking it would be a good idea, and worrying that an inconclusive scan (if I go too early) would just put me through a whole lot more worrying than necessary.

nannynome · 04/12/2014 16:41

I saw the GP today but won't be able to see a midwife til 6th January which is frustrating because I know that the scanning queue are hideous in leeds and they will have only 2 weeks to get me in for a Nuchal, I may call the Midwifery service and talk to them about it. I am rhesus neg, will need and early glucose as I had gestational diabetes with DS1. Plus I can't say anything to work until mid march so will need to book holidays for the appts til then. They have free appointments but have been told I can't be booked in til I am 8 weeks which is Christmas week.

Shantotto · 04/12/2014 16:42

I went to the docs the day before I did my test to ask about the 'unexplained' dizziness I'd had for a few days. She checked me out and all was fine until she asked 'Could you be pregnant?' And the next day I was! I called and left a message for her but got impatient and found Homerton's midwife number and referred myself! She rang me that day and just said congrats and told me to keep at my vitamins! She seemed to believe me. Grin

The midwife I spoke to said I wouldn't get an appointment until next year now. An agonising wait!

I popped in to pick up one of those forms that give you free dental care but was told I need to get a midwife to sing it who is only there at Wednesday mornings. They just shrugged at me when I said I'd be at work and to take a day off for it! I need to call them at the hospital and see if they can sign it another time. I've got the dentist next week, will have to put the expensive stuff til later!

Shantotto · 04/12/2014 16:47

Bethany I'm very very anxious so if I could see an even vague hint of things progressing that would be a huge relief.

Also, I'm seeing my parents and in laws for Christmas, they live in the Outer Hebrides so I see them only a couple of times a year and have to tell them face to face!

Hoping that even a vague San that just shows a tiny blob will reassure me I'm not doing it too early.

mzzzf · 04/12/2014 17:17

Bethany there are a few reasons for me. My DH's job means he isn't guaranteed to be at normal nhs scans so this way he can see. Also we're moving before I get to register with a new GP/midwife so I wanted a scan to make sure I'm not insane, I'm actually pregnant and to keep tabs on it growing. And finally as we're seeing parentals at Christmas we both felt we'd feel more comfortable telling them after we've heard a heartbeat.

It cost £99 and we've got a very convenient Sunday appt. Grin

whitwoochantelle · 04/12/2014 17:20

Any bbody else having lower groin pain seeme to come and I'm really stressing something's going to happen and keep running to the loo to check for blood. I had mmc early this year and had every symptom under the sun this one I just have nnausea. This will be our first dc I'm so worried

AliOh · 04/12/2014 18:49

Really feel for you all losing concentration at work, I was like with ds1, I really lost interest and it lasted the whole way through my pregnancy ! Fortunately I'm still on Mat leave Grin went to get referred to the midwives today, my last period was 8 weeks ago so I think ill probably get a dating scan in the next couple of weeks even though Im actually only four weeks.

gakay · 04/12/2014 19:17

whit am getting groin pain quite a bit too, in fact am having some right now! Am trying to tell myself it's normal.
Also had lots of symptoms with my mc but only sore boobs now. Think I had really quite bad symptoms really early on, even skin discolouration which isn't supposed to happen until later in pg - have developed the theory that having too many symptoms too early on is probably not a good sign. Don't know just any theory I can make up to reassure me this pg would be fine

birchwoods · 04/12/2014 19:22

Bethany I've decided to get an early scan as we also would like to tell our parents at Christmas and would rather have had a scan before we do so. I'm also really impatient and anxious! There's no way I could wait until the end of Jan.

Guyropes · 04/12/2014 19:36

Hi birchwood, I don't blame you... It is bound to make you anxious that the first mw appointment is at 10w! leaving only a couple of weeks for a scan appt might be pushing it.

Guyropes · 04/12/2014 19:42

Hmmm telling people at Christmas sounds like a good plan for avoiding the hollow excuses for not drinking over the festive season!

I am going to struggle with this as I am surrounded by people who don't understand not drinking. I am by far the lightest drinker out of my close family and friends already. They will definitely be suspicious and probably indiscreet enough to ask directly at the New Year's Eve dinner table!

And we are really keen not to tell people until after we have worked out how we are going to sort out our living arrangements.....
