I am actually finding it really reassuring that you all feel as bad as I do! God knows how I haven't noticed people suffering before! I am off work til 5th Jan now and am dreading doing back, I will still have 18 days til my 12wknd scan and telling everyone. I just don't know how I will do it! And I haven't even been sick yet, 'just' nausea and tiredness.

Brummiegirl15 · 27/12/2014 18:43

Hey everyone. Glad I'm not the only one feeling rubbish.

I am so exhausted. I feel literally like the life is being sapped out of me. Just been to John Lewis to buy a telly and normally I'd be quite excited about that (as love tv and movies especially)

But honestly I could have just sat in the middle of floor of John Lewis and had a kip. DP was ummming and ahhing and I just wanted to shout "for Christs sake just bloody pick one so we can go home and I can fall asleep on sofa"

Being so tired is making me thoroughly miserable but I know I should be grateful to feel this rubbish

CarrotPuff · 27/12/2014 21:47

So sorry for you girls who are feeling rough - hopefully second trimester will bring some relief.

I think I got away with not drinking on Christmas - have accepted a glass of bubbly during the day, pretended to be drinking it and then just poured it down the sink in the kitchen. Then with the meal I said I'll have some wine later, and later no one seemed to notice or care!

I caught myself thinking how much easier it will be next Christmas when DS will be 2 - but then remembered we'll have a 4mo as well!.. What on earth have we done? Grin

Dozygirl · 27/12/2014 21:57

Felt alright majority of the day at work. Just got home and I wanna puke. Hate this feeling sick. Just wanna be sick and get it over with.

zizkov19 · 27/12/2014 23:55

Hi All,
Recently found out I'm pregnant again; I have a 3 month old and due around 21st August. 11 months apart! Argh.....not planned, but oh well :-). I also have 12 year old twins and a 9 year old from a previous marriage.
I don't yet have any symptoms, which is odd as I did with all the other pregnancies. Though I've taken two tests and both were positive. Dr appointment next week so hope everything is ok.

NatalieBee · 28/12/2014 09:50

Dozygirl it's horrible isn't it, i feel so nauseated every night Shock but finally heading back to Scotland today away from the family for few months so I can keep it on the down low :) don't want to tell everyone because of the previous mc don't think I can handle telling anyone incase it happens again Shock how's everyone else getting on?

Dozygirl · 28/12/2014 10:24

I ended up going straight to bed. That is not like me at all!

Wow zizkov you're gonna have your hands full! Bet that was a massive shock!

toothachereturns · 28/12/2014 11:22

Wow zizkov!!! Welcome Grin I'm 6 weeks today according to my dates 16 days until my early scan. I've got my booking app thru for 15th Jan. They included the screening advice booklet with the letter. I forgot how scary it all sounds. Sad Sad

Emb540 · 28/12/2014 12:37

Does any one else Dh turn into a selfish child when you are pregnant? I had awful trouble with him whilst expecting both DDs was out any chance he could wouldn't come home till god knows what time, would go clubbing with the young ones from football& being a utter a hole when he did. Thought lately how the last few years have been good he doesn't go out & if he does he's home reasonable... Thought ah won't have that stress being pregnant this time... Wrong!!! Randomly went out got hammered didn't come in till 4! It's like a mid life crisis!! He's 35 not 21! Sorry rant over! But got so wound up last night I'm really aching & cramps today and feel so sick. Feeling proper sorry for myself today. :0(

Dozygirl · 28/12/2014 13:17

He's a man em I'd say let him have his fun. I'm working tomorrow whereas my dp isn't so he's found out with his mates probably till goodNess knows when but as long as he's not too noisy when he comes home then i don't really care when he comes home. Might be a different story when we have children because this is our first but I wouldn't want to deny him some fun with the lads. Gives me chance to have a cosy night in watching girlie programmes anyway.

Anyone else feelin fat? I've way over indulged this holiday season because it keeps the nausea away but I'm really regretting it now. My boobs are bursting out my bra and I look pregnant even though it's clearly not a baby bump yet. Made me realise I'm unlikely to fit into my clothes when i do get a baby bump. Need to do some exercise.

Dozygirl · 28/12/2014 13:18
  • going out not found out. WWish u could edit a post after you send it!
Frolicacid · 28/12/2014 13:24

Hi everyone!
I'm sorry so many are feeling fed up / miserable / poorly. It's a difficult time of year to be at this stage.

I'm just over 5 weeks now. I'm still being sick a lot, but not as much as I was. I now have the fresh hell of mega sore nipples and horrible constipation to contend with. Lovely!
I have also had really raunchy dreams the past 3 nights Blush! No sexy feelings at all when I'm awake, mind you.

We have beautiful weather here today, so I'm going to drag my sorry behind off the soffa and try to get some air.

Lilydreams · 28/12/2014 13:45

I'm also feeling horrific!! Got my last night shift tonight and then 2 and a half weeks off work and will be telling them when I go back! Think these nights have made me feel extra I'll- usually my body clock is fine with nights I actually prefer them as I'm not a morning person but this week has been a nightmare!

Feel constantly sick and have the most horrendous stomach acid- I can literally feel it bubbling away and it's really upsetting my stomach at both ends Blush!!

Got my booking appointment tommorrow- anyone know if midwives can do prescription for gaviscon or does it need to be a doc? Whilst we get free prescriptions I may aswell save myself the pennies buying it but would feel silly making a docs appointment just for that!

Anyone else concerned about their poor diet whilst they're feeling so rough? I usually eat so healthy but have survived the past 2 weeks on chicken nuggets, mash, chips, Cheerios, cornflakes and egg on toast with the odd piece of fruit or veg when I can force it down- I'm sure this must be adding to the nausea and acid but literally the thought of anything else makes me gag!!

Brummiegirl15 · 28/12/2014 15:35

I'm having some really raunchy dreams as well!!! Glad I'm not the only one.. We are currently on no sex until after 12 weeks due to previous mc and I really really miss sex!!!! Counting down the weeks

Sparrowlegs248 · 28/12/2014 17:08

Evening, I have felt a bit better today, we even managed to leave the house! In fact i have been looking after my horses both ends of the day but that had been the total extent of my effort until today. I have NO IDEA how I am going to manage back at work, really hoping this tiredness shifts. Can you have time off sick for tiredness?! That is a serious question.....

'D'H has kindly shared his germs with me. He has had an awful cold/flu virus. He has been quite poorly with a lot of joint and muscle pain. My throat is feeling gunked up. Like i have stuff to cough up. What can i take, if anything? I can't stand hot lemons.

toothachereturns · 28/12/2014 18:22

Emb540 I'd kick DHs ass if he started acting like that now I'm pg! You are not being unreasonable to expect him to grow up, especially since you are feeling like shit and have 2 other kids to look after. Get him told! Angry

toothachereturns · 28/12/2014 18:24

Dozygirl - you are remarkably laid back. I most definitely am not lol. I'm sacrificing my social life to cook a baby.... I expect DH to calm that all down too! Grrrrrrrr

xBlueberry88x · 28/12/2014 19:08

Notta I had an awful cold for 3 weeks chemist said only albus oil and vix so pretty much just had to suffer

Em Id flip if my dp did that to...my dp has gone the other way and were not allowed to spend any money unless we need to lol

I have felt awful today completely wiped, not very hungry and hip pain so been laying on sofa with hot water bottle

ILoveYouBaby · 28/12/2014 20:45

notta you can have paracetamol. Try honey in hot water, or hot ribena. And yes, I'm sure you can take time off for tiredness. I did with my last pregnancy, I think I self certified as pregnancy related sickness.

emb I wouldn't appreciate that! especially with two dd to look after as well.

The exhaustion has hit new levels. And I can no longer eat chocolate without feeling sickShock

otter32 · 28/12/2014 22:17

notta I'm allergic to cough and cold medicine, so I feel your pain. I get by with hot vimto, olbas oil, Vicks and paracetamol. Lots of satsumas for vitamin c and lots of rest.

Is anyone else suffering really badly with constipation? Any tips please?

northernlassy24 · 29/12/2014 07:38

Hi everyone. I'm just under 6w and had a private scan yesterday. This is my first and it was amazing. Even heard a heartbeat and the little one is only 3.4mm long. Incredible. So re-assuring after weeks of terrible cramps. Would recommend to anyone considering it. Even have some photos. Yes its only a little blob on a piece of paper but its a very much loved little blob already Grin xx

northernlassy24 · 29/12/2014 07:41

otter i have also had constipation from the start - just trying to drink plenty of water and lots of erm roughage hehe. It is gradually easing. Not nice feeling bloated and uncomfortable all the time.

I never really feel sick though - am i the only one? Should i be concerned? x

nannynome · 29/12/2014 08:30

Hey northernlass, my 1st pregnancy I didn't have any sickness at all so don't worry, everyone is different! Last time I had some physical issues with SPD and GD but nothing from a symptoms side of things at all apart from a weird aversion to mint which had me using kids toothpaste. This time I have nausea and sinusitis, joy!

On a side note, someone mentioned Albas oil, we are not meant to use it due to the oils of wintergreen I think, menthol crystals only, but then you get a different answer for that every time you ask!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Frolicacid · 29/12/2014 09:08

otter, me too on the constipation front! Drinking a glass of prune juice each day is helping. It's hard to stomach but does the job.

How is everyone else doing? Sorry for those with colds. I'm dreading that as sudafed is usually a good friend. I hope you all feel better soon.

I didn't have another sexy dream last night, but did wake about 4 times with tingly nipples Confused

Sparrowlegs248 · 29/12/2014 09:13

Thanks ladies. I really feel pathetic for feeling so crap! The cold can't be helping though. I read yesterday paracetamol is ok in small doses?! Not sure what that means though tbh i am not in pain so might not bother.
emb I wouldn't be happy with that behaviour. Saying that my DH rarely goes out and never clubbing. we are old and boring Even so, its not reasonable behaviour, its not as if he's a young first time dad is it? I'd be mighty passed off. I don't think its uncommon though.

My DH is gradually starting to 'get' it I think. I think at this early stage it can be hard for the men to realise what's going on with us - nothing has changed for them has it? I am not good at communicating how I feel but have been trying hard to tell him. Had a little cry yesterday, was feeling so tired sick and emotional. He just gave me a lovely cuddle. Which was nice (normally he'd be asking what's wrong and getting annoyed if i said 'nothing')
