Great news Claire :)

When is everyone having their booking in appts? I saw my Dr two weeks ago today, when I was 5+3 weeks and she said she would refer me. Heard nothing last week, so I phoned and the receptionist said I have been referred but the midwife is 'busy'. Still not heard from her...

I am just concerned it's not going to be until after Christmas now. I know my pregnancy will be classed as high risk, so I will be referred onto a consultant anyway...so this will eat up more time too....so I'm just getting a bit concerned.

Is it the norm to wait this long?

Emb540 · 16/12/2014 20:01

With my 2nd I felt flutters from 8 weeks I thought I was going mad but mw said it's possible. You know what to look for, I must admit I felt some today but it can't possibly be at 6 weeks :0/ so must be wind or things moving I put it down to xx

Dozygirl · 16/12/2014 20:37

I can't wait to have a scan. I think I might do a little cry when I see it!!

lam how is your spotting today? Has it stopped?

alovelycuppatea · 16/12/2014 21:21

Hello all! I'd love to join you if there is room for one more? I am six weeks today and due 11th August. First timer and a bit shocked tbh! DH and I planned to ttc starting in December but one of those little swimmers found his way in November and here I am!

I was told it would be difficult for me to conceive as I am on medication for overactive thyroid so hence we are a little surprised! I am a bit worried as I heard my medication can be damaging in early pregnancy so am off to see my consultant tomorrow - fingers crossed it will be ok.

My midwife appointment is not until second week in Jan when I will be 9 weeks and my scan is now booked in for week 12. Have no symptoms yet other than the occasional gag and aversion to creamy food.

Hope all are well and looking forward to getting to know you and our little beans over the next few months!

xBlueberry88x · 16/12/2014 21:21

Glad the scan went well Claire

Im 6+1 and times going so slowly midwife isnt supposed to contact until 8-10 weeks seems so far away.

Massive migraine tonight and a little nauseous but nothing major yet.

Told my mum with a grandparents xmas card yesterday she cried!

xBlueberry88x · 16/12/2014 21:22

ps sorry for everyone feeling crappy hopefully it passes soon

Dozygirl · 16/12/2014 21:46

Hi lovelycuppa what a lovely surprise!

mzzzf · 16/12/2014 21:46

Evening ladies. Sorry for being a bit quote, hope you're all tootling along though.

Soooooo, I had an early scan on Sunday afternoon. Just coming down from the buzz of it Grin We paid for a private early one and it was money well spent! Saw the yolk sac, the outline of the spine and amazingly saw it's little heart beating - amazing! They measured the bean at the scan and got the same EDD as I have of the 1st August. It makes it all so real now!

Now I'm 7 + 2, and waiting to move house, so I can register at the new gp and finally contact a mw, as I haven't yet! Argh!!

birchwoods · 16/12/2014 22:06

Amazing mzzzf!!! So glad it went well, amazing you saw the spine and heartbeat! SmileSmileSmile

Frolicacid · 16/12/2014 22:29

Can I tentatively join?
I'm 4 weeks tomorrow after an early BFP 11dpo on Sunday. I think that puts my due date at 26 August.

I was just going to lurk a bit on the sidelines as it's so early. But, I have a burning question!
How are you managing to brush your teeth? I vomit every time the toothbrush comes near me! Xmas Confused I'm being sick loads at other times as well, but panicking a bit as I'm sure the lack of proper cleaning and constant vomit is going to ruin my teeth.
I would love any suggestions / ideas about how to get around this.

Dozygirl · 16/12/2014 23:06

Hey there frolic and oh dear that doesn't sound good. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting yet so I can't offer u any wise words or wisdom at the moment. Hopefully someone will.

And yey mzzf brilliant news on the scan. Im still only 5+4 so I've got a way to go yet till I can have a scan.

otter32 · 17/12/2014 06:58

mzzzf that sounds amazing! We're on the same due date! Good luck with the house move!

Augustwedding · 17/12/2014 07:48

Been delaying coming on here as was terrified about loosing baby but think is about time!

I'm 7+4 with first pregnancy. Due date 2nd aug.

Decided to start trying 19th sept, pregnant 25th oct! Still in a bit of shock as had prepared ourselves for the long haul!

Had some spotting a few weeks ago but all seemed ok however having early private scan today for reassurance!

Guyropes · 17/12/2014 08:35

Hello everyone, great news about the positive scans for Claire and mzzzf! Must be so reassuring. Hope people are managing ok with nausea/ vomiting.

Hi frolic! I love your username! I think it's important to neutralise the acid in your mouth if you are vomiting... Can you swill with a mild salt solution? Or will that make you vom too? Tricky one!

I have a bit of confusion about dates, and wonder if you can help me work it out. My lmp was 26 oct, ov on day 14, due 2nd August... (Same as you August wedding!) but if you count the weeks from your lmp, doesn't that make it now 8weeks plus a few? But others due around the same time are counting 7+a few??? Can you explain what I'm getting wrong??? Very confused! TIA

xBlueberry88x · 17/12/2014 08:42

Frolic Good to see you over here I havent been suck yet so cant help sadly

guy everyone will differ depending on the length of their cycles etc

Dozygirl · 17/12/2014 09:00

I've never had sore boobs until last night when I took my bra off lol. Took me my surprise thru suddenly hurting when they were unsupported lol.

Also got woken up by a wave of nausea, thought I might be sick but then it passed. Maybe I'm just hungry haha.

5+5, so close to 6 weeks now.

Guyropes · 17/12/2014 09:34

Hi blueberry, thanks for that. So is everyone else counting from their lmp then? Or ovulation minus 14 days? Very confusing as I would have thought if we are counting 40 weeks til due date we would be at the same stage if we have the same due date! (Iyswim)

Emb540 · 17/12/2014 10:07

Augustwedding hope it goes ok today!! (Did you get married this August just gone? I did too Smile August nxt yr is going to be a busy one)
mzzf so glad all went well can't wait for my first scan!!

I'm so excited this time around, don't get me wrong I was the last 2, but this feels like my first again. My 2nd was a blur as first was only 11 months so whole pregnancy was hard work and flew by & when she was a newborn I didn't have time to sit and cuddle her as much as I did with first. Now this time I'm back looking up week by week Smile I'll get more time and have two little helpers! But I do worry how the other two will cope, know youngest will be fine, she asked for a real baby from Father Christmas lol but my eldest who's nearly 6 I'm bit worried about her. Anyone else have similar situation? Xx

daisysunshine2 · 17/12/2014 10:09

mzzzf so glad the scan went well :)

I'm feeling really worried today :( I woke up at 3am last night with awful AF type cramps, and really bad backache took about an hour to ease off (I tried walking around, heat, massage) they then disappeared about 4am and haven't returned. I know some pain is normal but I was literally in tears. I had no bleeding or spotting and my other symptoms are the same. Just so scared of losing this little one. Think the GP will think I'm crazy though if I phone up to say "I had pain In the night but it's all gone now and I've had no spotting'

otter32 · 17/12/2014 10:24

daisy how far are you? I think cramps are pretty normal. I think it's more serious when it's accompanied with bleeding. But then I know there are women who have both and still have healthy pregnancies. Try to relax. I know it's easier said than done x

daisysunshine2 · 17/12/2014 10:27

Thank you otter I'm 6+3 today, I've had some cramps before last night and just figured they were normal but these were just so painful... TMI alert but I had been really constipated and finally managed to go this morning so now wondering if my tummy caused the AF like cramps?

PolkaDotSpots · 17/12/2014 10:29

Daisy, I don't think it would be silly to get it checked out, it's always good to be on the safe side.

Nausea is my main symptom at the moment, no sickness but constantly feeling sick. I've just been trying to eat through it. Does anyone else have similar and found something that's worked for them?

daisysunshine2 · 17/12/2014 10:33

Thanks polka I might give them a ring. Nausea wise I've found spearmint polos amazing!

otter32 · 17/12/2014 10:36

I was very crampy at 6 weeks. I rang the midwife and had a chat. Could you do the same?

Hearing you on the constipation! I'm stuffing my face with fruit!

daisysunshine2 · 17/12/2014 11:01

I've got an appoitment at the GPs at 2.30 so going to see what he says :) I was stiffing my face with fruit (by making a lovely big smoothie with fruit and kale in) and it was helping so much, then the smoothie started making me vomit... Baby doesn't like fruit haha
