Hey all. Hope we are doing ok.

My colleague has just told me she's 13 weeks pregnant and shown me her scan picture. I'm thrilled for her but I'm so scared now about my early scan on Wednesday.

I've really struggled following my last 2 mc's that I've had to have counselling to cope with my grief - because I was literally surrounded by baby bombs every single day. I couldn't cope with it.

My colleague now telling me she is pregnant has made me so frightened for Wednesday and in general. What if this goes wrong too, what if there is something wrong with my baby? I will not be able to cope with a 3rd mc and sit opposite my pregnant colleague. So frightened

AliOh · 15/12/2014 11:06

I have phoned the midwife as hAvent heard anything and I could well be 10 weeks this week although I don't think i am!

Where in Wales are you emb? I'm in Wales too - wayyyyy out in the west Grin

AliOh · 15/12/2014 11:10

Forgot to say hello to the newbies! My addled brain cannot cope with trying to remember names so I apologise. DS is poorly and we were up every 30 mins last night, needless to say I am a zombie this morning!

brummie hang on in there. Not long to wait now until your scan and try not to think about it until weds (easier said than done I know) good luck, hope everything goes well for you Flowers

CinnamonSummer · 15/12/2014 11:36

Congratulations and welcome darkmoon! I have one dc who is 12 so I know exactly how you feel! I'm due on 18th.

emb I haven't told work yet and won't until 12 weeks. I had two mcs last year and I think I'd rather keep it quiet if I can, although will be having lots of time off for reassurance scans so I'm sure they'll guess. Don't feel you have to tell them straight away, do whatever you're comfortable with.

brummie I know how you feel, I've had 3 mmcs overall, 2 in the last 12 months and I'm surrounded by babies. Fc for us both this time, the best thing to do is try not to worry (easier said than done, I know! )

Hope ds feels better soon alioh!

My consultant still hasn't been in touch! Been waiting for a week now and nothing! As she told me to bypass docs and contact her straight away for an early scan I think she's being a bit rubbish! I will be 6 weeks on 23rd so she needs to get me in Christmas week really xx

PiercedMrsL · 15/12/2014 11:45

emb I've told work already, mainly because if anything were to happen to me at work then they would know.
currently been signed off by doc for a week as I've been seriously struggling to stay upright and have horrendous nausea!
Got my first midwife appointment on 29th December... do they then book you a scan? This is my first pregnancy so no idea what to expect! Grin

Dozygirl · 15/12/2014 12:03

Oh brummie I can totally understand where u are coming from. These next few weeks are going to drag and I really hope that this is your time and you'll be able to compare bumps with your colleague rather than being envious. Does she know you've had previous mcs?
I don't think people realise how terifying this early stage is until they've been through struggles themselves. Same when it's taken you along time to even get pregnant in the first place you rwally want to hold onto it with all you've got.

ruby242 · 15/12/2014 14:13

Hello to all that have just joined!

It is such a hard stage isn't it, just waiting until the 12 week scan, I can't imagine it after having a mc so I do feel for you guys.

Today I have been majorly hit by tiredness, oh my god so tired!! I slept for 9 hours solid last night but am dying at work today, my eyes are literally drooping. I've been trying to avoid sugar but ended up having a sugary drink in the hope it would help wake me up (didn't work but did taste good!) Anyone else suffering in the tiredness front and any tips on how to survive this stage?! I work 12 hr days on Wednesdays so am dreading that as don't know how I'm going to survive!

clairexxx · 15/12/2014 15:04

Hi to all the newbies Smile

Well touch wood, so far today I haven't had any spotting. I have been getting mild pulling and tugging sensations though which I'm hoping is my uterus stretching! I find it helps if I walk a bit rather than just sit down. Had a bit of a panic attack as I felt very wet (sorry!) but it was just normal discharge (sorry again!). I honestly could have cried with relief!

I know it's stupid but I couldn't help but blame myself for the spotting. That day I had a can of diet coke. I knew that diet drinks were off the list as they contain aspartame. I know it's silly because a friend of mine ate/drank everything apart from raw meat and liver and she has 4 healthy children! Anyway ever since I've just been drinking water and apple juice.

Been feeling a little nauseous too but to be honest I'm so glad! As long as everything is fine with the little one I never want to complain about being pregnant! Remind me of that in a few months please! Smile

How are you today Dozy?

Dozygirl · 15/12/2014 15:56

Just got back from doctors. She wouldn't take my bloods. Said it wouldn't show anything because I've not had it done before. I explained that I knew that and that I wanted to repeat it in 48 hours to check it was going in the right direction but she still wouldn't do it. She rang the epu but they obv won't do anything as I'm not 6 weeks. Will just have to sit it put I guess. I'll be 6 weeks on Friday so I can go back then I suppose. She was gonna examine me to see if there was anything causing the bleeding but I reminded her that had already seen me before when I was ttc because I was getting utis and itchy vag a lot but no infection. Still got a gynae appointment for that on Friday but I haven't had appointment by more problems with that since finding out I'm pregnant.

Glad u your spotting has stopped claire. I'm also wanting nausea to set in so that I feel pregnant because I don't at the moment. I'm sure i will regret that though after reading how badly some of u are suffering with it.

darkmoon four years ttc! Well done on finally getting your bfp.

I'm gonna carry on resting for this week. Got my works Xmas do on Thursday though :( might have to miss it this year.

Still only getting the spotting on wiping so I'm taking that as a good sign.

Gillian1980 · 15/12/2014 16:15

Sorry that the gp wasn't able to offer more dozygirl, so frustrating.

I've been feeling so sick all day. I've been working from home so at least I've been in comfort but urgh I feel rough.

clairexxx · 15/12/2014 16:18

Dozy, sorry the doctors wouldn't give you a blood test. Makes perfect sense to me as to why you want one! I think the only reason I'm having a scan is because they don't know how far I am. I'm still convinced I'm 6 weeks on Wednesday but 3 different doctors and I nurse have said they think I'm 10 weeks. Actually the nurse last night said I could be 4 months but not sure how she worked that one out!

Yes, I did have a very unusual period in November which was very light pink/brown and lasted 3 days. I did poas as AF was 3 days late and I did see a faint line, even my husband said he could see it. After the light bleed I did another test and nothing. I explained all this but apparently it doesn't matter.

I've been extremely lazy today. Just want to curl up on the sofa with the candles lit, tree lights on and watch a nice dvd!

mrsb0710 · 15/12/2014 16:37

I rang in sick today, just feel extremely nauseas, dizzy, and tired. My manager was so rude, didn't do much to lessen my worry of not going in. Thinking of speaking to HR tomorrow about feeling pressured.
Just waiting to have my flu shot now - ouch!

I hope everyone is feeling ok, and trying not too stress - its awful not knowing what's going on with your body.

Shantotto · 15/12/2014 16:59

Bah, called the hospital today like they told me to if I hasn't had my appointment through. The person I spoke to said I want even on the system yet! They are trying to rush through all the appointments for those who are 10/11 weeks and just to be patient for a few more weeks. I know I'm only 6wks and a few days but I feel quite abandoned to not be seen by anyone until around the 11th week! Especially as I'm so anxious with this being my first anyway. And would this delay my first scan? Seems unlikely they would see me around week 11 and then I pop back the next week for a scan! I knew I most likely wouldn't be going until Jan but knowing I'm at least in the system might have helped.

I can barely focus on anything other than worrying about if the baby is still there, thank god only a few more days at work and a private early scan on Friday!

Oh and welcome all the new people!

Dozygirl · 15/12/2014 18:36

Shantoto I'm the same. Haven't heard from midwife and says on paperwork I won't be seen till week 11 anyway.

One of my good friends is a midwife and she has come to my resue. She is going to takeep my blood tomorrow and sort a referrally to epu ready for when I'm 6 weeks so I can get in touch with them myself when I finally get there. Will be 6 weeks on Friday. Feels a lifetime away at the moment.

I'd been scared to tell her I was even pregnant because shes been trying longer than me and hasn't been successful yet but she was fine about it and happy to help me.

birchwoods · 15/12/2014 19:08

Hi everyone and hello newbies!

I've had my scan letter through the post today...as predicted they have gone by my LMP which is irrelevant as I ovulated on day 34 of my cycle (only had one period before BFP but that took over three months to arrive). So my appt is 06 Jan but I haven't actually had an appt through to see the midwife yet. I'm going to have to change that appt though as there's no way I'll be able to get time off work the day after going back and I'll also only be 9 wks by my calculations!

Anyone else with irregular cycles having the same prob?

Hope everyone is ok and taking their minds off all this worrying.

Oh god, just had a wave of nausea while writing that and had to rush to the loo (wasn't sick). I've felt dodgy all day...it has begun. Also got woken up in the night by horrid cramps again Hmm

LAM1 · 15/12/2014 20:12

Good news about your midwife friend Dozy. Fingers crossed you won't need the referral though.
My discharge is back having been away all weekend, spoke to the EPU "its very normal, ring back if its turns red or clots". Not 5 mins later the GP rings as they have had a letter from the EPU about last week, so I tell him the discharge is back and he tells me to call the EPU even though I told him I just spoke to them. My GP surgery is rubbish.

I have told work as I spent the best part of two days at the EPU last week, couldn't not really. My boss said she wouldn't tell any of the other managers but who knows.

Dozygirl · 15/12/2014 21:25

Oh lam hope it turns out ok. GP'a are pretty useless I find. I have one decent gp at my surgery but it's luck of the drawer if u see him. The lady I had seen today has seen me twice in recent months and once was giving me a vaginally swab and she didn't even recognise me. I know they see a few ppl but seriously, she'd seen my lady parts and I'd cried while seeing her because it was when I was ttc and she noticed I was about to start my period which is not I wanted to hear. Anyway that was a couple of months ago but I'm. Sure u would remember someone from then.

Maybe it's better that work knows though if only to support you rather than wonder why you're having time off. I think a few more ppl at work know now why I'm off because when I ring up to say I'm not coming in they seem to be quite understanding and I don't even have to say what a wrong.

mrspana · 16/12/2014 03:30

Hi. Got our bfp today, unexpected surprise! We have twin boys who will be six in January. Sore boobs made me wonder, must be my first normal cycle ever, I have pcos and last period was 5 weeks ago... Cb digital puts me at about 4/5 weeks pregnant! Feeling nervous, will call docs in the morning. Looking forward to getting to know you all...

Is it just this thread on here or is there like a sub group that I haven't found yet? X

AliOh · 16/12/2014 05:35

I can't believe the doctor wouldnt give you a blood test dozy that's terrible! Hurrah for your midwife friend though she is obviously a good egg Grin

Hi mrspana welcome and congrats! It's just this thread (as far as I know!)

karatekimmi · 16/12/2014 06:24

Morning all,

I have told work as I'm a teacher and have been feeling sick, and if I need to run out, then someone needs to look after my class.

I think I got an early appointment as the midwife only does Thursdays at my doctors, so not there for 2 weeks.

toothachereturns · 16/12/2014 07:20

I am terrified about telling my work. I work in financial services and there's a big restructure going on in my dept. I genuinely concerned that this will affect my career. Right or wrong.... It still goes on. Confused

Emb540 · 16/12/2014 07:58

Ali I am in south west Smile not far from you!!
Well told work as yesterday I had bit of a melt down, when I was leaving another manager came to me saying be careful walking in staff car park as it's dark incase you fall but they only came to me??...... Too much of a coincidence I will be mad if they have been told, knew I should have kept my mouth shut! If this said person knows everyone will know!!
Dozy glad you are finally getting bloods, fingers crossed!

Congrats to the newbies xxx

clairexxx · 16/12/2014 08:55

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all feeling okay Smile

I'm feeling quite nervous this morning about my scan later today. I know I shouldn't feel nervous, I think it's because I would love to see something positive on the screen but I also know it might be too early.

Dozy, I'm so pleased you are able to have some blood tests. Grin

Hope you all have a good day!

birchwoods · 16/12/2014 10:33

Morning everyone. I hope you're all happy and healthy today!

This is getting ridiculous now. I worry when I have cramps and when they wake me in the night, and now I'm worrying that I haven't felt any cramps today and didn't get woken up with them last night. Any words of reassurance? Do your symptoms come and go?

Dozy I'm glad your mw friend came to your rescue, I hope it gives you some peace of mind.

Claire try not to worry, everything will be fine, let us know how it goes! Is this the first scan of the thread?

Congratulations and welcome mrspana!

Dozygirl · 16/12/2014 10:42

Good luck with it claire hope u get some posite news. I'm the same about wanting an early scan but not wanting it too early in case they don't see anything and that might upset me more.

Welcome and congrats mrspana.

Tooth maybe you should try to keep it quiet as long as you can although as you say it shouldn't affect things but things still happen when they shouldn't.

The spotting is turning creamier today, still tinged with brown but not as dark so I'm feeling a little more relaxed today. Maybe it was just some old blood that needed to come out and now it'll settle down. Fingers crossed.
