Dozy thinking of you. As long it's brown it should be ok. Hope everything is alright

AliOh · 14/12/2014 15:49

Welcome running I'm in the two under two club as well Grin my DS is just 7 months.

claire have you spoken to the midwife yet? I could also be close to 10 weeks according to the date of LMP, I'm wondering whether to give them a ring tomorrow.

otter32 · 14/12/2014 18:48

Just wanted to say I'm thinking of those having panics. I think that's perfectly normal and shows you love your little bean(s) already! I think there'd be something wrong with us if we didn't worry!

Sometimes I think I'd rather be one of those people who doesn't realise they're pregnant til they're 3 months plus! Would take all the stress away!

lam and dozy you both make sure you rest and get pampered!

Can anyone give me a heads up on what happens at the midwife booking in appointment? I have mine this Friday. Feel quite excited about it! Is that sad?!

mrsb0710 · 14/12/2014 18:54

Attempted to cook sweet and sour chicken for dinner. Gave up halfway through and rang hubby to bring bread home so I can have toast. Who knew boiled rice could make you feel violently ill.

Worried I may need to call in sick tomorrow, but I'm on thin ice at work due to previous time off with my IBD. I know I shouldn't stress about not going in if I cant, but the last thing I need is to be out of work.

AliOh · 14/12/2014 18:54

At my booking appointment in last pregnancy I got weighed, height etc. they'll ask you to give a wee sample which you will need to do at every appointment and they will also give you your notes (if you haven't had them already) and they go through them with you about your general health/family history etc

Guyropes · 14/12/2014 19:51

Hi Ali, do they also take blood at booking? Thanks

LAM1 · 14/12/2014 19:56

Thanks Otter, DH is away so am having to walk the dog twice a day. That said I am taking it easy and am not going as far as normal. Have been asleep on the sofa most of the afternoon! Can't wait for him to get home, it doesn't normally bother me him away but this time I am counting down the days.

How you getting on Dozy? Hope you have rested and not been googling!

AliOh · 14/12/2014 20:02

Yes They did guy come to think of it, I remember they didn't label mine properly so I had to go back and have it done again, although I can't remember what it was for! Maybe to check blood type in case you are rhesus (sp?) negative.

otter32 · 14/12/2014 20:04

mrsb bread is my saviour!

Thanks for the info ali. Always good to have a bit of a heads up.

lam that's no good. When does he get back?

Guyropes · 14/12/2014 20:11

Thanks Ali, that's helpful. I got my booking appt later this week...

Bread... I have convinced myself its bread that's causing the bloating!!! Seemto be feeling sicky every evening now, and not enjoying it at all... Bath and hotty seem to help though.

Hope everyone all comfy and settled for evening now.

Dozygirl · 14/12/2014 20:14

Mrsb I wouldn't go in if you're struggling. I don't think pregnancy sickness is the same as other sickness in the laws of sickness if that makes sense. Like in my job they question u if u have 4 episodes of sick in 12 months but if u our off sick pregnancy related it doesn't count.

ClumsyCrocheter · 14/12/2014 20:14

Hi everyone :)
Just found this thread, so thought I would join in.
I am 7+1 weeks, due 1st August I believe. I've been having cramps on and off since before I was due on, which terrified me to the point I ended up having a scan at EPU over a week ago.
My nausea has really started kicking in now. Only been sick once, but the nausea is from the minute I get up, until about 6/6.30 at night and then it (thankfully!) eases off. It's making worse impossible though, cos I'm dry heaving at all sorts.
How is everyone else coping with sickness/nausea?

clairexxx · 14/12/2014 20:14

Ali, I have a booking appointment for 28th December and a scan booked for 28th January but I spoke to a lovely nurse tonight as I wanted some advice. I've been spotting on and off and had lower back ache. Anyway she told me that was normal and after I apologised for over analysing everything she said no need and that's normal too and will continue throughout the pregnancy. She said I was a mum already to the little baby inside me. I started crying! Oh dear. She asked if I felt pregnant and told her my boobs were sore, I was nauseaus and tired. She asked about my date of last period so I explained I had a very light bleed for a couple of days. I said my jeans wouldn't do up anymore and that I thought I was bloated but my mum thought I was showing. She said I could very well be 10 weeks and she booked me an early scan. I cried again! It's booked for Tuesday! I know I might not see anything as I could only be 5+6.

Dozy, I hope your feeling better x

birchwoods · 14/12/2014 20:26

Hi everyone. Dozy sorry to hear what a worrying time you're having. It does sound like implantation so fingers crossed for you.

I've started to not fancy much food now. I don't feel nauseous as such, just a bit bleugh. I have been safely installed in the sofa in my comfies since about 2pm! Managed a healthy tea this evening though thank goodness!
Still getting cramps on and off.

I hope everyone is ok. Not long now until some time off for Christmas, yay!

LAM1 · 14/12/2014 20:47

Otter he is back at the end of the week....So once he is home I'll then be on countdown to the Christmas closure at work. Clearly wishing away the weeks!!

Bread is a winner for me too. Haven't eaten gluten for months really, choice rather than illness but bread and cereal is back on the menu. Am sure that's why I feel bloated though.

Pregnancy related sickness is treated differently, but I guess you have to have told your boss you are pregnant for this to kick in

Emb540 · 14/12/2014 21:28

Dozy I had what you are describing exactly with my first, I bleed really heavily around 6 weeks, had few bright red blobs... was referred to a&e had a scan & all was fine she's now tucked up in bed nearly 6 years later! Hope all goes ok.
Sickness has gone today for me & not so tired.... Even though don't want to complain yet I'm now worrying myself! Confused

ClumsyCrocheter · 14/12/2014 21:29

My boss guessed when I was just 4 weeks, lol. Everyone at work is whispering, wondering if I am...cos I am so bloated I honestly look 6 months gone. It's a proper round tummy and is quite hard...v bizarre!

ClumsyCrocheter · 14/12/2014 21:30

Claire - good luck for Tuesday! :)

clairexxx · 14/12/2014 21:38

Thanks Clumsy. I really hope that I get to see a heartbeat but I know there is a chance it might be too early to tell. Hopefully it will put my mind at ease.

I'm bloated or I'm showing. Either way I'm finding maternity jeans to be so much more comfortable!

Dozygirl · 14/12/2014 21:44

Good luck Claire! Hope u get to see something

Dozygirl · 14/12/2014 21:44

And thanks em I'm really hoping it's not anything to worry about too. Good to hear it can all work out in the end.

karatekimmi · 15/12/2014 06:40

Hi all, I got my BFP last Thursday, can I join?
I have my booking appointment on Thursday which seems a lot sooner than some of you who are further gone!!

I think EDD is 20th of August, but that's from conception, I can't remember when my period was!!

Right I'm off to catch up with this thread!!

toothachereturns · 15/12/2014 07:19

Congrats karate. My EDD is 23rd Aug so I'm not far behind you. I haven't even phoned the doc yet. Oops! I'm in Scotland and we don't get a booking in app with the midwife until 9 weeks. It's gonna be a looooong wait!Smile

Emb540 · 15/12/2014 09:48

IBS been to the Drs but it's normally around 8/9 weeks you get the booking appointment here in wales too. I remeber this is the longest bit waiting for scan. Just out of interest anyone told their work? We are told to tell them straight away but I dunno part of me doesn't because it is gossip city in work Hmm

DarkMoon · 15/12/2014 10:19

Hi everyone, got my bfp last Friday after 4 years of ttc, i have 2 dc who will be 10 and 12 in January so i feel a bit out of practice with the whole pregnancy and baby thing.
