Morning all!!

Been to docs and confirmed everything again!! Been give my green maternity notes and I asked about booking in with the midwife to be told there isn't a midwife at the surgery so I need to see the community midwife and have to wait to hear from them....

Dozygirl · 12/12/2014 14:27

Waves to tooth and piercly.

I had a full on meltdown at work. I'm so terrified of miscarrying. Anyway I'd been feeling fine on my nightshirt but was feeling quite wet down below which is nothing unusual lately but when I wiped I swear I saw brown. It was the teeniest tiniest smidging amount so very unlikely be anything sinister but it sent me completely loopy. I burst into tears and couldn't stop and thought this was the end. Anyway they sent me home from work so I could rest and put my mind at rest.

Been asleep since then so not aware of any more spotting yet. Feeling a bit silly because I'm sure it's all fine but it really panicked me because my periods used to start with brown spotting so I just thought this was it. Did another test when I got home and it was a nice strong lone on a cheaper Internet test so it must be OK. I started thinking I'd imagined the whole pregnancy and I was just getting my period late. Gonna call in for tonight just because I'm clearly not in the right frame of mind to be looking after other peopled babies (I'm a neonatal nurse).

Dozygirl · 12/12/2014 14:28

Nightshift not nightshirt lol

AliOh · 12/12/2014 15:12

Welcome gillian emb and pierced!

pierced so exciting that you think you could be having twins! My OH keeps teasing me about it, I think i would collapse in a heap Grin

AliOh · 12/12/2014 15:15

Oh dozy how awful for you, hope you manage to get some rest and out your mind at ease. These babies do make us crazy for sure Wink but what a fab job you have, I'm very jealous! x

PiercedMrsL · 12/12/2014 15:44

Been feeling very miserable and sick today, have hardly moved off the sofa. I have a feeling this thread is going to be a lifesaver as hardly anyone knows I'm pg yet.

dozy I hope you feel better after some rest, I think we all have that nagging feeling that something is going to go wrong (myself included)

Dozygirl · 12/12/2014 16:49

Been to toilet and back to normal creamy/white so i think I was panicking over nothing but I'd still rather be at home doing nothing. If I'd have blinked I'd have missed it but it did freak me out.

Knackered from not sleeping much so I'm still not gonna go to work.

Hope everyone else is alright.

em165 · 12/12/2014 18:04

So glad to hear everything seems back to normal dozy :)

I also had the day off of work today, still feeling really dizzy and lightheaded. Ended up sleeping most of the day but somehow I still feel tired!

toothachereturns · 12/12/2014 18:06

I'm on hourly crotch watch too dozy. The last 2 months I got a BFP my af turned up a few days late. The lines on the pg tests got fainter and fainter in the days running up to that. Thankfully this time they're getting darker and darker. This is reassuring me.
Glad you're feeling better tho and a night off will do you good. Smile x

Dozygirl · 12/12/2014 18:21

Yeah my test is much darker today and it's a week since I got my bfp. Fx for u too tooth. Sounds promising.

daisysunshine2 · 12/12/2014 19:24

Welcome newbies and congratulations! :)

dozy sorry you had a scare, glad all seems to have settled now :)

brummie I got my green notes the other day too! I was so excited haha but not going to fill them out yet, was heartbreaking last time as I MC the next day after excitedly filling them out so I'm waiting until I've had my scan :) 1 week and 2 days to wait!

TMI alert but I am SO bloated amd constipated! I'm hoping it means my progesterone is nice and high! Making me feel so sick and full all the time though, might see if the GP can give me anything! Anyone else suffering?

toothachereturns · 12/12/2014 20:39

daisy I'm really bloated and constipated too. I'm hoping my Friday night Indian takeaway might help! Grin

xBlueberry88x · 12/12/2014 21:18

Evening ladies,

Had pregnancy confirmed my doc today and a 3+ on clear blue so starting to get excited! Just got to wait for midwife to contact me now!

Daisy I've been bloated all week been quite uncomfortable!

Tooth and Dozy glad your tests are getting darker!

Em I've had a couple of dizzy spells today to its weird!

Pierced I have a higher chance of twins due to clomid , dp would die of shock though lol

Dozygirl · 12/12/2014 23:32

Yey blueberry bet that reassuring. I'm still yet to hear from a midwife.

Getting some cramps again but don't think it's anything sinister. Doesn't half make u paranoid though these early stages. I thought I struggled enough in the ttc process and now the worry carries on through pregnancy lol. Think I'm destined to turn into my mother. She's always been a worrier. I never used to be until this.

birchwoods · 13/12/2014 08:44

Morning everyone. I hope you're all doing ok.

I had a bit of a worrying episode during the night. I woke up around 12.30 with cramps that were much more painful than the extremely mild ones I've had so far. I got up and went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet, but felt really dizzy and had cold sweats, the colour drained from my face etc...I thought maybe I was a bit constipated as the cramps you get from that are dissimilar to AF/pg cramps are they? So I tried to go (TMI) with limited success. I then felt a wave of nausea and had to get up and heave into the toilet (pants round ankles, how glamorous). I wasn't actually sick, just heaved. It was more scary because I was on my own last night as my DH was on his Christmas work do and staying away overnight. It really frightened me. Not the heaving, just the painful cramps. There is no trace of blood at all.

What do you reckon? Need I be worried? Constipation or pg cramps?! Was this the onset of morning (middle of the night) sickness? How painful have your cramps been? Xmas Confused

Isabeau1980 · 13/12/2014 09:05

I'm just going to delurk to say to birchwoods that I've had some vicious cramps.

Growing up I had menstrual cramps so bad that I was put on medication for them and the cramps I've had on and off for the past few days were very similar.

I didn't want to let your post go unanswered.

birchwoods · 13/12/2014 09:22

Thanks Isabeau. I also had really painful periods as a teenager and would often have the same kind of 'funny turn' that I had last night (cold sweats, ghost-like face, dizzy etc...I fell off the toilet once Xmas Blush) so maybe we both just get more painful cramps.

I hope yours ease really soon. I can't wait to get my mw appointment through so I can bombard her with my worries!

How many weeks are you Iam?

Isabeau1980 · 13/12/2014 09:25

May as well fully delurk now and tentatively join. I'm Isabeau1980, 34 and 6w4d with #1.

Isabeau1980 · 13/12/2014 09:30

Sorry birchwoods I had to throw on a wash between starting to write my last post and finishing it. Smile

I'm finding heat brilliant for it. I bought a packet of the heatpads for your back (I think the brand is Theracare) and I put it on (it straps around you) back to front. Wink

CinnamonSummer · 13/12/2014 09:40

Morning everyone!

dozy I can understand that completely! I ran to the loo in work yesterday cos I felt 'wetter' than normal and I'm on a paranoid knickerwatch all day every day so obviously panicked and thought it was blood - it wasn't. Very glad everything is back to normal for you Smile

bluebell how far are you? I got 3+ this morning on a digi but only 4+4, wondering if my dates are out somehow.

birchwood I've had some intense cramps too, feel like af is imminent but I always get them in early pg. How are you feeling today?

I feel dreadful. Felt sick yesterday and hoped it was the start of morning sickness but turns out I've got a stomach bug Sad meant to be going to the Manchester Christmas Markets today and Christmas shopping tomorrow but don't know if I can!

CinnamonSummer · 13/12/2014 09:42

Sorry, meant blueberry!

I can never understand how posters can remember all the names to include in their post!

Dozygirl · 13/12/2014 10:16

Ooh another northerner then cinnamon?

I had cramps pretty bad last night too, like af type cramps and spent all night googling cramps in early pregnancy but most say it is normal as the uterus is stretching. Gonna go back to work tonight but said they'll put me with easy patients so I'm not running around too much. I'd rather be bored all night and resting than working too hard.

otter32 · 13/12/2014 10:37

Hey all. I've posted once before and then lurked! But wanted to put my two penneth in on the cramps. I'm 7 weeks today (keep holding in there little bean!) and still get mild cramps. At 6 weeks I was getting sharp twinges, so I rang the midwife (this is my first, I'm paranoid!) who explained your uterus tips backwards which pulls on ligaments. So that's the sharp pain. It then tips forward again at 14 weeks. During week 5 my cramps felt very much like af pain. And I'm on mefanamic acid for those as they cripple me. I've had no bleeding, so I'm assuming (and hoping) that this all means things are growing and stretching normally. I hope that helps in some way Smile

Dozy and cinnamon I am also a Manc girl!

As for sickness, mine hits at around 5pm. So I just snack from then on. I have a dinner party tonight that I'm very worried about. Nobody knows I'm pregnant and I don't know how I'll cope with a full on meal!

But I wouldn't change this for the world Blush

xBlueberry88x · 13/12/2014 10:45

Cinnamon im 5+5 today but clearblue time stamps dont seem to be completely right lol I wouldnt worry.

Birchwoods Ive had cramping from ovulation pretty much but on a couple of sharp painful ones but everyone is different!

toothachereturns · 13/12/2014 10:51

So pleased for you Blueberry. ... I'm still welling up!
