TheBooMonster and Daholster, fingers crossed you're both feeling better soon. I can't remember who also said it but I don't remember feeling 'well' at any point in the last 10 weeks. I'm sure I wasn't this poorly with DD.

Siarie · 15/11/2014 10:33

If it helps, I've found that what's happening with me now is. I get good days and bad days. More good than bad but the bad days are poorly timed.

But even the bad days aren't as bad as the first 14 weeks. It's just annoying throwing up or feeling like you will.

On the good days I feel like a super hero, which I probably won't do if I didn't have comparison. Even those days if I get too hot I'll feel sick. And I have pains and aches, sinus pressure and all my joints click. But it isn't as bad as feeling sick Smile

Lindalove · 15/11/2014 14:33

Hey! I knitted a cardy for he/she (find out on Monday). When I know I'll add some buttons that 'match' sex. Ladybirds maybe for girl, dinosaurs for boy, avoiding the blue/pink thing. Its the 'baby surprise jacket' design.

Got together with a couple of local mums today who are also expecting - it was great to meet some other pregnant ladies and talk! We were put in touch by a local parenting group, how useful.

Back from a busy week... no real extra news to speak of, the bump hasn't appeared yet, but I have been noticing a firmness around the uterus - lying on my front feels like lying on a small tennis ball now, which is sometimes comfortable and sometimes not. Health has been mainly OK apart from waking up with a headache on Wednesday that kept on going to Thursday and into Friday... I'm fairly sure this was due to not enough carbs in dinner on Tuesday night, but at least that's a useful datapoint to have.

I won't be joining the FB group, at least not yet - hope everyone on there has fun :)

I'm actually setting my parents the task of choosing a pram, or at least giving us a top three to choose from... mainly because it'll give my dad something to do so he can feel involved!

On the breastfeeding front, with me my mum stuck it out for six months and then gave up as I had a sensitive digestive system and seemed to get on better with formula. As I think I've said before, I'm aiming to get to three months and then will see how we're getting on!

I still can't work out if I'm feeling movement or if it's tummy grumbles. Ho hum, it'll become clearer as the month moves on.

Massive congratulations on passing your exams, daholster!

I've been to a NCT sale this morning and bought a Gro egg room thermometer, a next maternity top, a next maternity skirt and a Haynes baby manual for DH.
Met a girl I went to school with who I had not seen for 17 years but we went for a coffee and a decaf tea it was lovely, she has a gorgeous 9 month old little boy. She said I can go and raid her attic of baby things as well.

Is anybody else snoring? DH had to sleep in the spare room last night as he said I sounded like a pneumatic drill, whoops Grin

Well I'm knackered and my bump looks pretty small today. Hmm managed to get 45min shut eye in bed before DD woke me up and yelled if it was time to make pizza yet. (Making dough was far too messy) just waiting for it to prove so we can put the toppings on. Early bed tonight for me I think and DD needs a bath but I'm going to have to ask DH to help I think far too tired to do it by myself.

TinyTear · 15/11/2014 19:59

Been feeling more flutters today which is good.

Blood pressure up while talking to parents on the phone. Glad I live in a different country...
Even told DD afterwards I will do my best not to push her buttons when I am old and doddery

TheBooMonster · 15/11/2014 20:53

Hope those of you who don't work weekends have had a relaxing day!

DD stayed up till I got home to open some of her pressies (a huge fail on my part because then she wanted to stay up and draw and stamp peppa pig on everything rather than going to sleep >..< But I've got the big move to sitting on my arse on a till in 3 more weeks (after this weekend) so maternity leave feels that little bit closer!

Can't believe how quickly we're getting through the threads now. I'm going to wait to join the Facebook group, though.

Congratulations on your daughter mamabear Flowers

I had a really minor car accident earlier in the week, no damage done but DH panicked so we've been today and picked out a new car. I get it next weekend. That's one thing off our 'to do' list.

I wanted to look at prams but the car was more urgent. Now we need to find a pram that fits in my new boot Grin

We've got a co-sleeper crib which my mum got us, and a baby gym and toys from my friend who's finished with them, plus vibrating bouncy chair from my aunt which she just used with my cousin's little ones and doesn't need any more. Think I might use the money saved for a nice nursing/rocking chair. Are the kiddicare ones any good? We don't have a local store.

FizzyBubbly · 15/11/2014 22:05

I've got a Kiddicare nursing chair River and it's just as comfy and nice as one I tried in John Lewis. Unfortunately the wooden frame cracked and it became rickety so we returned it after 5 months and the replacement we received was very slightly different (fabric mainly) so I reckon it was a known problem and they changed supplier. No problems at all with the replacement and it has been sat in numerous times a day for the last 13months. And it was only £99 which is a lot cheaper than most you see (it's usually about £130ish but it is regularly on special offer so might be worth keeping an eye out)

houghtonk76 · 16/11/2014 07:37

Am also an April 2015 mum-to-be. EDD is April Fool's Day. First baby aged 38, second pregnancy. Saw my sister's 3 day old yesterday, gorgeous baby boy. Ours is a boy too, told them yesterday. My Dad is in hog's heaven cos he has 3 daughters!

houghtonk76 · 16/11/2014 07:41

Have had nausea throughout. Some good days on ocassion, but carrying on regardless. Has got bit worse again lately as little un has started moving about - flutters and sometimes somersaults. Am 20 weeks. Can't wait to meet him, nephew is absolute cutie! :-)

Lauren82000 · 16/11/2014 07:58

Can't believe I just did that. DD brought her potty down herself this morning despite me telling her just just have a wee upstairs. She ended up having a bit of a loose poo in it and as I was taking it to the bathroom to empty it slipped out of my hand in the bathroom. Poo everywhere! Walls, floor, towels and sink. Thank god it missed our toothbrushes. Just had to clean it all up. I swear I'm getting rid of all of her potties she doesn't need them, she's perfectly fine with the toilet. Angry

CherryLips1980 · 16/11/2014 08:54

Ohhh, Lauren! Sympathy! Congratulations and welcome to the threads houghtonk !! RiverRocks, what car did you end up with? We're looking at changing mine as despite having a massive boot, there isn't space for the dog, buggy & 2 x children. At the minute, if the dog is in the boot, the pushchair has to go on the back seat next to DD. Pushchair & CherryDog don't fit in the boot together. Mel I had no mummy-friends either (we didn't do any antenatal classes) until I started going to weigh DD at the childrens centre. She had to go weekly for ages because she was small and struggled to put on weight and through that I met 3 other mummies and all our babies were born within 5 weeks of each other. We're good friends now and have just arranged our Christmas 'party'.

I'm attempting work today. It was just as well I didn't go in yesterday, ended up being sick throughout the day :( No warning either. So fingers crossed that doesn't happen today. I'm only there 9.30-4.45 so not a long day. I seem to have days of feeling loads and loads of movement and then days of nothing. I'm in a period of nothing so getting a bit twitchy Confused

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Lauren82000 · 16/11/2014 09:29

Well despite scrubbing the bathroom and then going over it with detol wipes it still stinks of poo! DH have me a big hug though which made it a bit better. I said to him if it had been him he would of said he's not cleaning it up, it's fake and a load of swear words. He agreed with me completely. I'm hoping he will re scrub the bathroom for me later.

LadyNovember · 16/11/2014 10:29

Oh dear Lauren, sounds like a total nightmare!

I'm having a busy weekend off work, so chilling for a couple of hours while DP goes out on his bike. We did our gender reveal with the fam last night, was so much fun! Will attach a photo of the cake I made!

Hope everyone is well xx

Oh Lauren that doesn't sound much fun!

Love the cake LadyNovember.

Got home from holiday this morning after two weeks away and my weight gain has more than doubled - eek! Gone from 2lbs to 5lbs! Hopefully it won't continue at this rate or I will be huge by the end!

We've started talking about nursery decoration too - has anyone seen any nice wallpaper? I quite like this one from mamas and papas but prob a bit girly to work if it's a boy so looking for other options. Will have white cotbed and chest of drawers and neutral carpet.

CherryLips1980 · 16/11/2014 11:08

I'm not in work Blush. DP (who is the manager, I am one of the deputies) took one look at me this morning and ordered I stay at home. I will admit to not arguing especially hard because I absolutely hate working weekends - since having DD I've only gone back two days in the week but if I'm doing the weekend, I don't do the two days in the week. So by the time I'm in on a Saturday with (mostly) the PT staff who haven't been in during the week either, I haven't been in since the Friday the week before and it's absolutely impossible to keep/catch up with everything that has happened during the week. DP does tell me the really important stuff, tbf, but I quite often end up looking like a cock until I find whats being looked for/worked out whats happened etc. Plus everyone seems to wait for the weekend before coming in for worming stuff (which on a weekend only I can do), advice, invoice queries etc.... (I do love my job, honest, but I do find weekends very hard.)

Is anyone else still really tearful at everything? I was in bits watching the Boots advert last night (although the John Lewis one does nothing for me...) and I've just been in tears watching Got To Dance. It's getting embarrassing!

CherryLips1980 · 16/11/2014 11:14

LadyNovember, that cake looks awesome!

BananaToast, we didn't decorate DD's room Blush. It's just plain yellow walls as we redecorated a couple of years ago and wanted a 'neutral' room just in case we had kids and we have white nursery furniture from Ikea in there. I call it her room, she's still in with us Blush We really MUST pull our fingers out of our arses and move her into it before long. The other room is plain purple, so she will probably move in there and #2 will have the yellow room if it IS a boy when it comes to separate rooms. I wish we had though, looking at other people's nursery flashes.

( this Boots advert, not the ridiculously fake woman pretending to shove spray up her nose before sledging down a hill. That advert gives me the Rage.)

LadyNovember · 16/11/2014 11:21

Loooove the boots ad! Might be slightly biased though ha.

Thanks ladies, just had a slice for breakfast haha..totally in the running for gestational diabetes Wink

StuntNun · 16/11/2014 11:41

It was my toddler's 2nd birthday yesterday and I couldn't quite believe that we're going to be starting all over again in April. I'm adamant that this baby will be dead easy and sleep well. Is anyone else a little bit in denial about babies being hard work at first?

CherryLips1980 · 16/11/2014 11:53

Totally, StuntNun. I keep looking back at her newborn stuff and not believing (despite photographic evidence) she was ever that titchy.
