Glad I'm not the only one totally put off sex!
Last night DH and I were talking about it just before we went to sleep early last night - then we were awakened at 5am by our new neighbours having sex not once but 3 times Blush
We haven't even met them properly yet, so introductions could be interesting!

bagofsnakes · 04/11/2014 20:28

Mirrors! Good God! I couldn't even touch the area for weeks, apart from to gingerly wipe after weeing. Don't think I've even dared look at it since, and it was 2.5 years ago! We did 'resume normal services' after 6 weeks but it was a little soon for me.

Yeah, mirrors sound like a very bad idea.

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 20:36

Yes bag it was a bit soon for me too and wasn't done again for a while.

The reason I say about stay away from mirrors is my mw urged me to look....worst.advice.EVER

28 weeks today. It seems to have flown but last week has dragged, I went into mothercare on Sunday and they had christmas songs playong, usually this early I would leave but I was happy because its one step closer to baby being here

LittleMissSunshine33 · 04/11/2014 21:01

I have a new respect for those of you who get the train/tube every day! I went on 4 different trains/tubes and no one offered me their seat except another pregnant woman! And it was so hot and busy! Yuck!

We keep saying we will DTD and I do fancy it but now the baby is moving it freaks me and OH out! Plus I have to know when we are going to so I can be prepared and shave as that in it's self is getting harder now. Can not go from behind though as I have broken capillaries and stretch marks on my bum and thighs! Well no one said pregnancy was glamorous!

bagofsnakes · 04/11/2014 21:11

mw urged me to look - Why?? WHY? Was there a medical reason or was she just a cruel, cruel woman?

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 21:15

Bag apparently I needed to know what it looked like so that I can spot infection if it happened, I personally think she was a nutter. The 3 visits after I left hospital she asked to look at my fanjo and I said no each time as far as I am concerned it got enough airtime during the birth Grin

Im watching miracle babies on 5 ....not sure I should watch it

PeppermintInfusion · 04/11/2014 21:16

I was coughing really hard earlier, think it's due to acid reflux, and I've somehow managed to pull my bum muscle in the process Confused it's agony!
Everytime I cough/sneeze I feel like I need to hang on to my bump these days, as nothing seems to tense up how it used to.

PeppermintInfusion · 04/11/2014 21:21

Memphis, I was watching a bit of it too, have to keep changing the channel though.
Just found out my DH was 14 weeks premature (always knew he was a premie just never realised how much), you'd never think it to look at him now, as he is a strapping 6'4!

Bangonthedoor · 05/11/2014 05:51

We DTD 8 weeks after having DD, it was really strange though! So left it another couple of weeks before trying again. The GP was proper pushy about it at the 6 week check. She said I must do it ASAP and was shocked that I hadn't already Shock

littlemisssunshine I'm going on the tube at the beginning of December for winter wonderland and I'm already looking forward to seeing if anyone gives up there seat for me! It's a weekend too so I'm assuming it's going to be busy.

Went to bed at 8:15pm last night and feel loads better for it this morning. So going to use all that extra energy taking DD bowling for the first time today Grin

JacktheLab · 05/11/2014 07:05

Bang that's mad! I don't think my DH got any action for at least 12 weeks or more after ds was born, we were both shattered all the time! Silly doctors! Also I was a csection, I think if I had tearing etc it would have been longer till I felt comfortable about anything like that and I certainly wouldn't be paying too much attention to what the doctors say!

Morning to everyone, hump day today - hurrah!

Memphisbelly · 05/11/2014 07:54

I admit I only dtd after mw asked about if we had done it and why we hadn't. A mum on my last antenatal thread did it after less than 2 weeks and my ds was only a few days old I remember crying thinking nothing was further from my mind

blankfornames · 05/11/2014 08:28

Memphis, sorry for mixing you and Frenetic up, but welcome also to the B.N.A- Burger Nips Association Frenetic!

These conversations about DTD are doing me the world of good. I thought it was only us! I think DH is afraid incase he pokes baby in the eye! I wonder can a lubricant be used in pregnancy? Are people saying that it's advisable to get a mirror down there to have a study at the bits?? I couldn't imagine anything worse!!

Have a strange one here, I wonder if any of you ladies also have this weird pain... as soon as I put on my bra in the morning I get a burning feeling on the right side about two inches under my (non wired) bra strap. It's only on the skin and there's no mark there otherwise. The bra is the perfect fit. It's a mystery!!
Sorry about the monster post, I'm busy these days and although I keep up to date with you all, I don't get to post as often as I'd like!

purpleteapig · 05/11/2014 08:38

We left it about 8 weeks last time too; I had an episiotomy but even so, I couldn't imagine doing it any sooner. The thought of 2 weeks after makes my eyes water a bit...
Had the worst night's sleep ever last night - I woke up about 2am convinced a hedgehog had crawled into my mouth (I know) and shrieked, waking husband up and giving him a real scare as he thought there was something really wrong. I've always had weird sleep walking issues but this about takes the cake!! Looking at that I sound like a total freak!

Viperama · 05/11/2014 08:56

I'd a crazy dream last night as well Purple. In real life my x just got married (v v happy for him) but In dream I was in his flat while he & wife out collecting my stuff on the sly. Only to be discovered by his bro and my employers hr department. My bump was only half it's size now, and I was trying to find my old baby blanket. I think they were trying to keep my baby. My DP was no where. Awful!
I'm so happy for him and relieved he's married tbh as I left him, so no idea what that silliness was about!

hanflan · 05/11/2014 09:22

Morning all you lovely ladies! Who ordered the cold?! It has suddenly gone freeeezing round here (after being a balmy 22 degrees on Friday!).
Had a lovely surprise last night, one of DHs work colleagues has a 4 year old girl and doesn't plan on having any more kids, so she has given us the most enormous bag of things! There's about 300 quids worth of hardly worn baby clothes (it's all Jojo Maman Bebe, Monsoon and Ralph Lauren etc.), an expensive Baby Bjorn sling never used, some Gro Swaddle wraps, a preggo pilates dvd... seriously, it was like Christmas had come early! I think I need to get her a nice bottle of wine and card to say thank you, so sweet of her!

Glad it's not just me Viper - must be these hormones causing us to have bizarre dreams!
Wow, that's a great early xmas pressie Han. I need to find myself a benefactor like that :)

BanglesSpangles · 05/11/2014 10:11

haha- memphis- duly noted- one friend told me her down belows looked like a big mac after giving birth :D

BanglesSpangles · 05/11/2014 10:20

oh, and littlemiss- I was thinking just this very morning that there is absolutely no way on gods green earth that I'll ever get a seat on the central line of a morning.

Evenings- no problem- lots of nice people give them up, but mornings, it's a struggle to even get onto the carriage, let alone near enough to a seat to make eye contact with someone!

freneticfox · 05/11/2014 11:22

25+4 and the morning sickness has returned.

Oh, happy hell.

The next person to tell me pregnancy is magical gets eaten.

PeppermintInfusion · 05/11/2014 11:47

Frenetic, I didn't have morning sickness at the start, but I've been feeling distinctly queasy and very easily turned by food/smells for about a week. I'm 24+5.

Memphisbelly · 05/11/2014 12:01

haha bangles a bigmac! I can see connection.....I thought chopped liver

freneticfox · 05/11/2014 12:33

I think it's helped along by the fact that Fox Bean appears to have located my stomach and keeps poking it. Feels really unpleasant!

He's REALLY active today, think someone may have spiked my placenta with Red Bull.

Memphisbelly · 05/11/2014 13:07

Frenetic if he is more active and has had a growth spurt its probanly because he has moved your stomach to another position and will hopefully pass.

Had mw this morning, im now showing +++protein in my urine and as my bloods came back fine they are unsure why. I asked what else it could be and she said uti but with that high a protein reading they would be expecting me to be doubled over in agony and im fine so send more samples to lab. Told me any pain I have to go straight to hospital and bypass docs.

I also said about my fanjo feeling swollen (I got a dribble of wee in tube as it is like a sprinkler when a wee and not a stream) and she urged me to look in a mirror as it could be the start of varocous (no idea how to spell it) veins in my fanjo?!Shock I didn't even know that was possible.....I am pleased to report it doesn't look swollen though just feels it

suzimagoozi · 05/11/2014 13:46

I feel like I need to break every hand mirror in my house to make sure I never give in to any mad curiosity that may strike. All sounds like more than I can bare!

Had additional growth scan this morning as was measuring small when went for Gestational Diabetes test. Little One is in 12th percentile at 28 weeks. Anyone else got a small bean? Not sure what, if anything I can do about it - or if I even should - small means less pain right?? ;)

freneticfox · 05/11/2014 13:54

Memphis - hopefully he'll shift soon. I preferred the vag kicks if I'm honest! Hope your protein isn't anything too concerning, always a positive to not be in pain!

I spoke to a GP today (non pregnancy related) and my usual GP was away so it's someone different. I happened to mention that I was waiting to speak to my midwife as I have a query about resting heart rate in pregnancy. When I said it's currently between 90-100bpm she said "oh that is terribly concerning, keep monitoring that..."

Huh?? I thought an elevated heart rate in pregnancy was normal, I just wanted to check with my midwife that I didn't need to get it checked, but that GP has now terrified me immensely. What on earth do I do?!
