sand I did a bit of paperwork where I raised the issue of the temperature but it hasn't gone any further than that - nobody has 'assessed' my desk area or anything like that.

Lots of fantastic advice - my MW and GP have both already tried urging me towards being signed off until I can start mat leave and despite the fact it will be a financial burden I'm really tempted to take that advice. I'm from an industry that is usually very straight-up with professionalism and heavy on team work, so to be in this kind of work place is really jarring for me, it's not something I've experienced before.

Pregnancy wise, I feel like I've popped even more today, feels restricted when I take a deep breath, which is really odd. Other than that, feeling really impatient, I think mainly because I know the discomfort I feel now is only going to get worse.

JacktheLab · 03/11/2014 21:01

Bang,

DH and I had a fumble this morning, but I was on my hands and knees. He has trouble if he thinks about it too much, baby being in there is a bit off putting for him I think! Vague enough without being unintelligible I hope!

I'm feeling a bit cramping recently, especially around my c section scar, hoping it's nothing sinister!

bagofsnakes · 03/11/2014 21:12

Bang - Sex? What? Huh? Sorry, I've no recollection of that Smile
We're at an all time low here on that front as I've been ill for so long (now on second round of antibiotics for horrible persistent chest infection), I do feel for DH but not enough to 'feel' him...

Bangonthedoor · 03/11/2014 21:32

Ours isn't great either really, we manage about once a fortnight at the moment!

jack that makes complete sense but I hate being on my hands and knees, I've got such a phobia about my bum I always worry that he'll accidentally go there Shock he's well aware of this too! How ridiculous?! I can't wear thongs at all because of this and only became worse when I tore right into my arse hole giving birth to DD!

I suppose I'll just have to go on top but with the light off for sure Grin

Memphisbelly · 03/11/2014 21:48

Bang we haven't done it in ages, I like you hate going on top due to feeling self concious. It is a no no from me with my veiny, hairy belly and burger nipples Confused

sandulacek · 03/11/2014 21:48

Frenetic I work in nhs and all the risk assessments are taken quite seriously. I don't envy you your decision, just try to do what's best for baby fox.

hmmm re sex...nearly non existent I'm afraid Hmm

Viperama · 03/11/2014 21:55

Sex is forbidden for us, doctors orders!
I keep saying jump on me when you want to and use these monster boobies before they start giving milk, he's agreed to....when my mother leaves!!

That's very visual, sorry!

Viperama · 03/11/2014 21:55

The boobies bit - not my mother lol.

Wrong wrong wrong

jenmcspen · 03/11/2014 22:03

Reading the thread tonight has given me a good chuckle and cheered me right up Grin
Combination of heartburn, squashed bladder and inability to get comfy have meant I'm in the no sleep club too, so I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself!
donkir hope ur feeling ok and getting plenty of baby-baking rest Smile
frenetic I think u must have the patience of a saint, I'd have killed or sued by now! lol! I can def advise calling ACAS for impartial advise. They told me I may be a victim of 'pregnancy discrimination' at work a couple of months ago. Throw those words around a bit and ppl start to crap themselves! hehe! work is MUCH better now Grin

blankfornames · 03/11/2014 22:43

Frenetic, I'm chortling at your burger nipples comment....that is exactly what they are! Quite unsightly!
As for dtd..it's another no no from here. I'm very swollen down there for some stange reason and it's like there's no room for anything else. Poor DH doesn't even try anymore!

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 07:57

Blank im aftaid its me with burger nips Confused not freneticGrin

I have woken up tired sgzin, ds is still unwell with his throat so was up quite a bit, I have work today then watching Paulo Nutini tomorrow night cannot wait

Grinningcat · 04/11/2014 08:43

What a rubbish night's sleep. Didn't get off until 1am. at 12am I gave up and watched My Cat From Hell in the living room. Just couldn't get comfy, couldn't breathe lying down, felt trapped by the pillow between my knees, was too cold in the room, had to get up to pee every 10 mins. Urgh. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the day.

No DTD here either. I'm just knackered. If DH brought it up I'd give it a good go, but he's being very good. The mind is certainly willing, but sleep seems more precious atm. On those odd energetic occasions though we have given up missionary since the 16 week mark.

Might order the changing bag online today. There is a rucksack one on amazon I like the look of for 25.

donkir · 04/11/2014 09:24

After ringing about 6 different numbers I finally got to talk to someone at the hospital. They seem happy for me to stay at home taking it easy this week and then light duties at work next week. I'm still not entirely comfortable but I suppose I have to trust them. Roll on next Thursday when I can see consultant.

As for DTD it's out of the question atm but we have been doing it. Can't say I was getting much out of it as had given up on missionary and me on top. Think the oh was constantly worried about knocking baby. The last time baby constantly wiggled and was very off putting.

Grinningcat · 04/11/2014 10:22

Oh and as of last night I am now a full stone heavier at 24 weeks than I was before.

freneticfox · 04/11/2014 12:12

I have burger nips too. Quite unsightly. Might be directly related to lack of sex in our house too - well that and DH is having a real problem getting around the whole "there's a baby in there" thing. He's reassuring me a lot that he's still attracted to me, etc. But I'll be honest, it's quite upsetting that he's just not seeing me in that way at the moment.

More stress this morning... our boiler has packed up and the part needed for it won't be here until later in the week. I've had some trouble with some important mail going to our old address and now having to prove that I didn't live there - which I can do, but it's just more hassle and stress that right now, I REALLY don't need.

And I'm off work today after zero sleep thanks to an icky tummy all night.

Ever feel like the universe has it in for you?

PeppermintInfusion · 04/11/2014 12:24

.

BanglesSpangles · 04/11/2014 12:28

i think biscuit nips beat burger nips- mine still look like hobnobs. Totally gross- I keep picking lumps of crusty stuff off of them

Think I may have overdone it at yoga yesterday, if that's possible- my stomach muscles are screaming today!

purpleteapig · 04/11/2014 12:35

Burger nips, haha - that conjures up an image!

Sex is a distant memory for me - we haven't done it in months!

hanflan · 04/11/2014 13:36

The only way we are managing it is if I'm on top. I usually don't like it as feel self conscious about jiggly belly, but that is no longer an issue, and DH is LOVING the new massive boobs and nips so it's giving me quite the confidence boost! Seriously though, the nips are enormous, they scare me haha

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 15:44

Hanflan I hear once baby is born if you breastfeed they go even darker and bigger Shock a girl I went away with at the weekend said hers went to the size of her baby's headShockShockher actual nips were like storks!

freneticfox · 04/11/2014 16:56

Have to say ladies, the sex talk is actually quite comforting! I had been feeling really low about our lack of intimacy recently! Amidst all the turmoil I'm going through in light of a changing body I guess I kind of forgot that actually, it's a big change for DH to have to adjust to as well.

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 17:11

Frenetic the first time round I was a sex pest constantly wanting it but dh really couldn't face it very often, it really freaked him out about the bump, moving belly etc it knocked my confidence because 'what man turns down sex?' I used to say, turns out as he spoke to more people a lot of men feel like this, its only a small amount of time in your lives together really..... Oh but even dh wasn't sill enough to turn me down when full term and desperste to get baby out I thimk I looked so deranged he didn't dare say no Grin

BanglesSpangles · 04/11/2014 19:10

Yeah, ditto frenetic- ive been feeling a little bit 'whats going wrong here then', so glad its not just me! Just hope my fanjo doesnt get too ruined by the baby on the way out Grin... Mother nature is a cruel mistress

Memphisbelly · 04/11/2014 19:20

Bangles.....one bit of advice.....stay away from mirrors down there for a good week or 2, I looked and cried at how swollen it was (i did get stitched but it will be very swollen down there regardless) I sobbed about it being a mess but it honestly went back to normal within 2 weeks (dtd at 6 weeks)

GeekyHybrid · 04/11/2014 20:25

Just a quick reminder everyone - PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!

Cos I've been tired I haven't been that good the last week or so then I sneezed at work today :-/ Not the sort of reminder I wanted!
