Up early, yay anxiety! Desperate to get a conversation with my GP asap so I can get the contact with work over with. What a lovely way to start December, eh.

JacktheLab · 01/12/2014 07:39

Good luck frenetic!

Fingers crossed that you get signed off and no more work!!!

Hello everyone else :D

Viperama · 01/12/2014 08:23

Thought I'd post link re positioning that my doula sent me yesterday. This focuses on avoiding back to back. To ensure head down, we've to walk as much as possible, really easy for me on bedrest...NOT

purpleteapig · 01/12/2014 09:29

Hope it goes well with your doc Frenetic and you can get away from those witches at work & destress!

I agree with getting at least one pack of newborn - my son was 6lb15 so pretty shrimpy too (born at 39wks). One thing I remember about newborns is they scrunch up really tight (like they would in the womb) so the legs are always empty in the babygros - it looks really funny. :)

Anyone else having bad anxiety dreams?? I dreamt my bp was ridiculously high at 400/200 last night and they kept strapping me to a chair to retake it over & over. Woke up covered in sweat!

freneticfox · 01/12/2014 09:48

Signed off, no questions. I'm so relieved I'm just sat here sobbing.

jenmcspen · 01/12/2014 10:18

oh frenetic am so pleased for you - what a relief!

JacktheLab · 01/12/2014 10:45

Good news frenetic:)

I've just waved goodbye to my work car Hmm

jenmcspen · 01/12/2014 11:24

On the ward waiting for a scan appointment time. Yawn! Hospital is soo boring. ..

Grinningcat · 01/12/2014 12:25

Very pleased for you frenetic. Just enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

I have bought some newborn bits as I was 6lb 8oz and DH was 7lb something (he can't remember exactly), but tried to buy those things in sales etc so I wasn't spending too much on things that might not get used a lot.

28 week app tomorrow. Smile

sandulacek · 01/12/2014 12:28

Good news Frenetic is it till your maternity leave starts? From my job point of view I was shocked how easy it was to get signed off!

jen hope you don't have to wait too long

mini and memphis just checked out your bags Grin . I like the pacapod ones. Originally chosen one for 140 but didn't like it that much when I saw it in JL so opted for a cheaper model.

freneticfox · 01/12/2014 12:39

I am now signed off until my mat leave starts in four weeks. I am honestly, so, SO relieved. Honestly could just cry all day... think I'll try and rest instead, got the sniffles!

There aren't many cold remedies I can take are there...

Viperama · 01/12/2014 12:46

Frenetic, just let it all out today and tomorrow morning when you wake up not give it another moments thought.

They aren't worth your energy. Those shrews will have to find someone else to bully now, and they'll show themselves up in no time. Shit people always do.

You've got a wonderful time in front of you now Smile xx

BanglesSpangles · 01/12/2014 12:47

Whoop! So glad for you frenetic!

Im having a day off work too- after last weeks conference, and me banging on about how much i love it, i blatantly pushed it too hard- horrible cough and stuffiness. I allowed myself half a paracetamol earlier, and am very glad that i took home a tupperware of stew from my mums yesterday- comfort food to the max!

Happily, the back's not too bad today either

freneticfox · 01/12/2014 12:50

My husband is going in tomorrow to clear my desk and drop off my note. How he's going to bite his tongue I don't know... I don't see him angry very often as he's quite a gentle soul... but this whole situation has really riled him.

donkir · 01/12/2014 13:42

So pleased for you Frenetic. I'd highly recommend a nice pregnancy massage to relax and destress.

I've got some good news to. Dp and I went to look at a house this morning and fell in love with it. They also love ours so looks like we'll be mutually exchanging middle of feb. Can't wait lo will actually have a nursery. Grin

Bangonthedoor · 01/12/2014 13:44

Ah I'm so pleased for you frenetic Smile like others have said, you can look forward now and enjoy your rest time.

Hope you're not waiting too long jen!

DD was 2 weeks overdue and weighed 8lb 7oz and was still in tiny baby grows for a week or 2. Newborn definitely swaps most babies at first!

We've put the Xmas decs up today, and DP has got the Moses basket and stand out the loft so I can strip it and wash it soon. So excited for that Grin

Minichuch · 01/12/2014 14:31

We've haven't bought any newborn yet only 0-3 month - its standard joke that dh was like 10lb and he was born on due date!!! Dreading that baby is gonna be that size

ScummyWithGin · 01/12/2014 15:59

Woohoo!!! I'm so happy for you Frenetic. Relax, enjoy your time off and try not to think about work at all.

Congrats on the house Donkir-that's amazing that you are able to swap houses! How did it happen?

I think I might be joining you ladies buying more tiny newborn clothes. In fact, I possibly better get cracking and buy everything. I had my scan this morning. The lady was really lovely and as bump was in usual awkward head down position and we couldn't really see much, she switched to the 3D and printed out some pictures for us. So cute, especially the one where Baby is clearly not happy about being poked! Such a cross little expression!
Unfortunately my hopes for a more relaxing 3rd trimester haven't panned out and they are worried about baby's growth. It's gone from the 50th percentile 2 months ago, to 37th 1 month ago and down to the 14th today. They're not so worried about the actual size of baby, especially as I'm small, it's more the change and how rapidly it's dropping down the scale. It's now a bit of a wait and see until my next scan in 2 weeks. If it stays around 14% they think it's ok but will still keep a close eye on things; if it continues dropping down and goes below 10% they will be concerned and will have to consider what to do. I am seeing my OB tomorrow so will hopefully get some more info from her about what that actually means. I have no idea whether it just means more tests, closer monitoring or thinking it's safer to get baby out. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaa

What colour bag did you go for Mini? I've got my eye on the grey Elizabeth.

How was your scan Jen?

donkir · 01/12/2014 16:07

Scummy that's not great news. I can't say I completely understand this percentile stuff but it doesn't sound great. Fingers crossed baby stays at 14%.

I moved into a lovely 2 bed council house 12 years ago when ds was 6 months old. Because it's council the only way to move is if you either have 100 kids and play the system or find someone else in social accommodation who is looking for something similar to yours. We'd already had a house fall through just before we found out we were expecting. We've been looking for over a year. Unfortunately there are lots of ppl looking for 3 beds but not many looking to downsize. We've been very lucky. Can't say I'm looking forward to moving with a newborn but needs must.

hanflan · 01/12/2014 16:37

Oh poo, I think I may have been struck down with the dreaded PGP! I have felt like I've had a really sore pulled muscle in my groin area for ages now and it just doesn't seem to be getting any better, and it doesn't make sense for it to be a pulled muscle as I've not exactly been active recently haha.
It's flippin' sore so hoping it doesn't get any worse! Boooo.

Ok so I am the only person without anything bought for Bean! We're both quite superstitious so weren't planning on buying anything until January. After reading how ready you all are, I'm beginning to have second thoughts! I don't think I'll be buying any newborn stuff as at 27 weeks, Bean was 3 lbs! DH is 6ft 4 so I don't think I'm going to have a smallie! Eeeeshk!

Frenetic.. so happy that you are finishing up! When is your last day?

Donkir.. talk about handy house swap!! Hope it all goes well!

Jen.. really hope that baba Jen doesn't fall anymore. At least the hospital are on top of it though. I've everything crossed for you that baba stays within the 14th percentile.

freneticfox · 01/12/2014 17:00

blank - I'm done now. My GP wasn't messing about. I can't talk about the situation without getting tearful and he insisted I don't go back now until after the birth. Didn't argue.

han - welcome to the miserable PGP club! It's poop. I highly recommend getting a gym ball if you don't already have one. I was given 'pelvic tilt' exercises to do on it, and it's really helping loosen things up when they get stiff.

Mimosa1 · 01/12/2014 17:01

Hi everyone! I'm the same - have nothing in newborn size though quite a lot in 0-3 months as a friend kindly gave us a big bag of clothes as she's had her last. May have to get a few things. The clothes do seem quite big! In fact, DH and I are going to Mothercare this evening as we bought our pram colour pack there yesterday, and they forgot to include the rain cover, so back we go. It's a nice walk through a park though, so will get him to buy me a hot chocolate on the way :-)

Frenetic - I'm thrilled you're able to take off now. Just had a frustrating day at work - nothing near what you've been going trough - so feeling especially sympathetic!

Scummy/Jen - keeping fingers and toes crossed for you and pleased to hear all is being checked and monitored, so hopefully your minds can be set at rest soon.

Donkir - we are moving too. Started packing this weekend, and oh my stars, we have a lot more to do!!!

On another note, been feeling quite smug that have bought a few Xmas prezzies from M&S at 30% off because of Cyber Monday. Hope you all have a great week, and Hanflan, feel better soon!

x

PeppermintInfusion · 01/12/2014 18:56

Junior is measuring 3 weeks ahead length wise but only 2lb weight which is below the median line on the growth chart. So we've been buying mainly 0-3 as I think the newborn lengths may be too short on him. We have a few things in newborn though 0-3 might be baggy.

donkir · 01/12/2014 19:16

We've bought everything in 0-3 as ds was 8lb2 and turned into a right little chunk so all newborn stuff didn't last at all. Because of the threat of preterm labour my friend has given me some tiny baby clothes but hoping we're not going to need them.
