freneticfox · 28/11/2014 16:21

Ugh, had to deactivate my FB account due to work drama. Joys. And I've been off sick this afternoon with the mother of all headaches.

But I did realise something exciting and/or terrifying... by the time we start a new thread, we'll all be in our last trimester...

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 16:28

Frenetic why have you had to deactivate? You should go on the sick if feasable the stress cannot be doing you any good

jenmcspen · 28/11/2014 16:30

Baby's growth is right on average and they think the doctor who was concerned about the heartbeat is being overzealous so that is a relief!
Just waiting to find out if I can go home and what happens next with my rubbish liver!

freneticfox · 28/11/2014 16:33

Memphis - I'm going to my GP first thing Monday for exactly that. Basically got told that everyone is sick of how I'm handling my pregnancy - apparently I need to be outwardly excited, but not TOO outwardly excited. It's ok to moan, but not for TOO long.

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 16:48

Jen what a relief!

Frenetic I don't blame you, if you were being really happy and excited they would tell you off for rubbing it in for people who are ttc or to people who had morning sickness....they sound like utter utter dicks

Bangonthedoor · 28/11/2014 18:53

frenetic I am so shocked at all your work business still...didn't think it could get worse! I can't believe these people are actually adults! Definitely go off if you can...you don't need this shit. Think about yourself and wave those arseholes goodbye Grin

GeekyHybrid · 28/11/2014 18:53

Jen I hope you get home soon. Sounds like they've put you through a bit of a drama. Rest up and relax as soon as you get chance.
Frenetic your colleagues sound a right bunch of *'s, get yourself signed of asap! Though I hope you've planted the kippers in the curtain poles etc!! They should soon kick into action in such an overheated environment ;-D
Bang and Memphis I'm impressed that you're even dealing with Sky / BT etc.. I've been delegating everything to the OH on the grounds that 'I just can't handle it rationally'! I'll loose my temper about poor service at the best of times but tired and hormonal, public health warnings would be required.

I just about got through the day at work despite having been awake since 4am :-( All OH's fault, that's when his alarm went off for his early shift and I couldn't get back to sleep. And neither could sproglet. So, if I have a baby that's always awake at 4am I know who I'm going to blame! My black Friday bargain is very sad - a pair of Felco No.2's for

GeekyHybrid · 28/11/2014 19:05

OK, baby jogger, amazon jiggled the time thingy, 1 minute it was 10 mins to go, then 'all claimed' in the blink of an eye. £135 instead of £200. Guess they only had about 2 of them though for them to go that quick :-/

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 19:17

Geeky a friend of mine works at Asda and she said they had advertised this amazing tv at a huge discount.....they only had 2 in store, causing people to fight overcthem and police being called! Shock

My black friday deal was 50% off in Gap, the things I wanted for baby they didn't have small sizes

GeekyHybrid · 28/11/2014 19:27

I think there is a lot of that Memphis e.g. advertising a really low price to get people through the door then not actually having stock. At least we only used to play the game on 2nd Jan (do you remember when the January sales actually started in January rather than Boxing Day?!) We really are being suckered in to the American way :-/

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 19:37

Yep I agree hate the way people are queueing outside Next here at 3am boxing day! Been seeing some videos on fb of fighting in shops here today...one tradition America can keep in my opinion.

PeppermintInfusion · 28/11/2014 19:47

I managed to get the last of the baby stuff we need to buy on amazon with a decent discount- saved about £100 overall. It was all things that are nice to have but not completely essential- sling, nappy bag, electric breast pump, play mat.
If I hadn't been looking at baby stuff I wouldn't have been anywhere hear the sales though.
I'm off to a wedding tomorrow so had to go to the shops for tights on the way home- people were so rude and pushing etc, it was all a bit of a frenzy!

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 20:01

I want to get the baby a Ewan the dreamsheep, we had a lullaby scout with ds! No offers so far from what I can see

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 28/11/2014 20:24

This thread has reminded me that I'm 28weeks and not booked my whooping cough vaccine.

geek Amazon do put a lot in I believe however the popular items have sad people like me sitting there from 10mins before the time watching the darn count down and click, click got it. Some things are gone in literally 30seconds (my internet wasn't fast enough for them - damn those people with fiber optic), less popular items can be there for an hour or 2. Also they have been doing it all week and a lot of things have had more than one slot.

Also I found I needed to be in chrome, as other browsers don't seem to keep up with the count down properly.

I think Amazon are the best of the retailers for black friday deals, you just need to figure it all out. - I missed some smaller items I wanted earlier in the week whilst I worked out things like using chrome as my browser because my other one wouldn't do the count down properly, etc.

I think I've done fairly well in amazons Black Friday. My best buy was Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep, for if/when I move on from breast feeding - £49.99 (takes all the hastle out of bottle prep), and if breast feeding works out this time I can sell it as new on eBay for at least that much. I also got a triple set of cordless dect phones for 32.50, that look fab (really unusual ultra modern style), some toys for DS and DVDs for me. I nearly got another video monitor too but changed my mind.

The naughtiest retailer is Smyth's Toys whose "Black Friday Deals" were offers they have had on for a while and are nothing new.

fenetic I haven't forgotten about nice guidelines for you - will do it on the laptop either tonight or tomorrow (just using phone at mo so awkward).

Your work sound so awful. Glad you're putting yourself first and going sick. You'll be able to be openly excited about your pregnancy then, without facing nasty bitches!

bang and Memphis your not alone, I was crying to dunelm yesterday because they messed up and cancelled my order, instead of delivering it and I needed it. I did end up getting 10% off but for an hour of wasted time on the darn phone and delivery 2 days later than originally promised "latest delivery date".

I also cried to tesco who thought it acceptable to replace my, less than 2month old, phone with a reconditioned lower model because mines got lots of faults in it (DH has the same phone with no problems). After 3 separate calls (I kept escalating it and was called back by a manager, then a team above said manager), they still wont budge, so I've decided tesco can go to hell and I'm never shopping there again. Wish I'd paid £5 more and got it from Amazon - they'd have replaced it no problems.

freneticfox · 28/11/2014 20:34

Ok guys, I need some advice. Despite the fact I work in digital media, this is a new bit of territory for me.

A friend of mine saw someone post something unpleasant about me on FB - just so happens it's a colleague. There were also other colleagues joining in, also being generally unpleasant about me - y'know - because being pregnant is a crime. Now, I know it terms of work, it's nothing. A pin prick. But given I've been saying for WEEKS that people are treating me differently, could I use this as proof and take it further?

This friend (who knows me, and knows I'm a nice person, honestly!) took screen shots of everything so I have proof.

PeppermintInfusion · 28/11/2014 20:37

Frenetic I think you can as I do know if you made unprofessional comments on FB then it could be used against you, I think it would be the same principle.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 28/11/2014 20:38

Oh and also geek for next year, if in Amazon black Friday its something you really really want, stay on the page once it says 100% claimed, as 100% claimed doesn't mean 100% sold, it means 100% in peoples baskets, but they can only stay in peoples baskets 15mins and if they dont checkout in this time, it becomes available again. Obviously not worth doing for a couple of quid but on the larger discounts and something you really really want, it gives you a possible second chance of getting it.

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 20:45

Frenetic yes you can it is classed as cyber bullying which is a sackable offence as far as I know. Plus everything else, I think you need to go to citizens advice or if you can an emoyment solicitor and get more info but everything you have said means psople should be given warnings or sacked (where I worked before we would be sacked on the spot for putting the company into a bad light) if your company won't work in your best interests then they can get into big trouble....I would then reactivate my fb account and bitch moan and name and shame they idiots that have made your life hell

LittleMissSunshine33 · 28/11/2014 20:48

Frenetic definitely use it! it's disgusting! If your HR department are any good they will all have written or at least verbal warnings for bullying. Are you wanting to go back there after having baby?

Jen sorry to hear you weren't well glad to hear you're ok!

Memphis how are you after you're fall now?

Baby feels really close to the surface now! Real strong movements and very close to bladder as soon as I stand up I need the wee which is the slowest trickle ever lol

TMI ALERT I know the milk doesn't start coming in til a few days after birth but i seem to have slight .... I don't know what to call it leakage?? Not wet though haha sorry but who else do I ask?! Do you think that's normal?

longbottom · 28/11/2014 20:50

Frenetic, you defo can.
Take the into your hr department, explain how you feel and that you feel unable to return to work and could be seen as pushing you out because you are pregnant. Say words like equality and diversity, they will poop their pants!
Bloody awful!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 28/11/2014 20:51

frenetic I don't suppose your in a union are you? Even if not a lot of them will provide you with free advice, even though they can't represent you. So probably worth talking to them.

I would think that you can use the screen shots to show both that your employer has allowed you to be victimised on the grounds of your pregnancy, despite your repeated claims and as evidence that your coworkers have victimised you on the grounds of pregnancy.

Make sure sick note from Dr says work related stress. It'll give you increased come back on your employer.

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 20:53

Agree with long frenetic also the words 'descriminated against since becoming pregnant' and 'I feel I have no choice but to leave due to the stress' and 'I am going to be taking further action for lack of support' will make them shit it

GeekyHybrid · 28/11/2014 21:01

Thanks why, I've got to admit I'm not a fan of shopping so tend to only really be bothered about the odd thing, or know the actual price to start with, hence the secateurs! And the sort of thing no one else wantsSmile Hence you wouldn't catch me in an actual shop today, or Boxing Day etc. Only in my nightmares.

frenetic that is exactly the sort of thing that should be forwarded to HR and if they don't act on it you can get them for workplace bullying etc. Makes me mad that they're getting away with being so nasty. I want to bop them on the nose for you. Hard Angry

freneticfox · 28/11/2014 22:15

It's weird that I feel vindicated, right? When I went to HR with this a few months ago they were really dismissive with an air of treating me like I was being over sensitive. Now I have the black and white proof that I'm not being paranoid or imagining it - I AM being treated differently. It was all sparked because I tried to sort things out like an adult; as in sit down and try and make things more comfortable. I've never worked in a place where problems aren't solved by talking about them, it's very weird for me...

Depending on what work say next week after I've seen my GP, I'll be looking into what my next steps are. Part of me just really, REALLY, wants to stop and try to enjoy my pregnancy while I can. Second consultant appointment on Tues about ELCS after my awful one a couple of weeks ago.

I'm so sorry that all I seem to do is moan, ladies. I promise I'm nice and upbeat person usually; I apparently seem to be attracting really poor luck! x
