Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tonightsthekindofnight · 27/11/2014 18:49

Despite planning on going till the 12th December I have started my maternity leave today. I'm 30 weeks, measuring full term and just too uncomfortable behind my desk. I do some part time stuff for the NHS which I will keep up as long as possible but otherwise I am putting my feet up!! Whoop whoop!

Nursery is nearly finished, new car is getting collected at the weekend and a baby jogger double pushchair with a buggy board is on order.

The reality of having 4 under 5 is starting to hit home!!

Sorry to hear so many people are having a rough time, end in sight now!

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 19:22

Peppermint I would take that as you plus 5. How lovely of your dh, my changing back has been dispatched that my dh ordered for me.

Tonights, enjoy the 'break' before your brood expands, you seem very organised.

I have done my first full day alone for 2 weeks today I am beyond tired, house is a tip, mums internet hasnt worked for weeks and today BT said it was her (brand new) laptop that was broken......over an hour of sitting on the floor in her hallway so I could be connected my cable to hub and it is fixed but it has ruined me, I am so sore, I am unsure if I should put ds to bed and then bath and attempt to tidy a bit or just go to bed

GeekyHybrid · 27/11/2014 20:18

Memphis - just go to bed! You've had a busy day, got lots done and sorted internet which is beyond the patience of a saint. So have a bath, give yourself a pat on the back and go to bed.

After my first day back at work after my cold (how does a cold knock me out so bad for 5 days?!) I'm knackered so I figure that any attempt to tidy etc.. will only end in some clumsiness resulting in damage to either house or myself so it's not worth the effort ;-D

You are organised tonight, you deserve a bit of a break before things get totally manic! I can't even imagine trying to juggle 4 under 5's.

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 20:47

Geeky at least you are on the mend now, just had a bath and now eating some tinned peaches before I go to bed, I will have a quick blitz in the morning before school and do the floors when I get home after school.

jenmcspen · 27/11/2014 21:04

Called the midwife about my itchy hands and got asked to go straight in for bloods. Then sent to hospital as measuring small for dates and baby a bit quiet.
Monitoring okay but now they are concerned baby's got an irregularity in heartbeat Sad having to stay in overnight for scan tomorrow. Bit worried but trying to be positive that they are just being over cautious...first time ever in hospital overnight too!

longbottom · 27/11/2014 21:26

Hope you get some sleep Jen, hospitals are noisy and they will prob monitor you all night.

I think baby is transverse, weird kicks in weird places!

27 weeks, 10 weeks left at work, cannot wait!!

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 21:28

Jen thinking of you hope its just a precaution keep us informed

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 21:30

Longbottom baby is transverse here too belly looks a bit banana shaped going in in the middle and out on both sides of the belly button Grin 31 +3 here now

JacktheLab · 27/11/2014 21:30

Memphis, bed time Mrs! Our second sofa is the permanent home for clean laundry these days, tidying up? Not a chance!

Geeky, glad you are feeling better!

Frenetic, hope your scan goes well tomorrow! Would it be wrong to hope that you get signed off for the next three weeks and you can be done with work?

Four kids under five, you are a better woman than me!

I've gone to bed early too, little miss seems to just spend all her time with some limb jammed in my pelvis, tis v uncomfortable! Ds has told me it's time for her to come out now, then he's going to put her in the big pram and look after her for us! I thought that was cute, although I fear the reality is going to be a bit rubbish for him :(

JacktheLab · 27/11/2014 21:32

Sorry, Jen, I hope your scan goes well!

Frenetic I still am hoping you get to finish at work sooner than later!

Long it's fab having the countdown isn't it?

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 21:40

Jack ds wants to do all the feeds and night wake ups I have warned him all baby will do for a while is sleep, cry and poo he seems ok with it, your ds will be fine, not rubbish for him at all just different, he will love having mummy and daddy there. Could you arrange for dh to wither take ds out for a special day either while you are still in hospital (if you do have a section) or near the end of the paternity? As baby should arrive in January by feb half term hoping I will be on my feet and sane enough to all have our first proper family day out. Making plans for ds to get involved seems to be helping us?

PeppermintInfusion · 27/11/2014 22:24

Memphis, I took it that way too, DH thinks it means I'm included in the 5...
It's just that the grannies are super excited and I think my dad would like to go too. Not that I want my parents and inlaws crowding round my exposed belly but if the room is there I know they'd enjoy it.

Hope everyone is feeling betterThanks the third trimester really does seem a struggle!

jenmcspen · 27/11/2014 22:28

Looks like my itching is probably obstetric choleostasis Sad

If it is, that's consultant led care and probable early induction Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Not a happy bunny right now

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 22:53

Peppermint but you cannot be a guest as without you the guest would have nothing to see! Also being a private thing they wouldn't turn away one extra person, you could always email them though.

Jen think positive if it is that then it isn't pre eclampsia which would be a lot worse, I keep getting tested for my liver as I itch like mad and the consultant and mw said it would just mean me seeing a consultant once and probable induction at 38 weeks as they now say there is no risk to baby (this is what my mw told be yesterday)

Viperama · 28/11/2014 01:28

Fingers crossed for you Jen! Big hug

My stoke xplory arrived from mothercare today...delivery was fine but when DP pulled everything out, the rain cover, mosquito net and shopping bag and instructions are all missing. Looks like wheels have had an extensive test drive indoors. FFS why are business's such chancers/incompetent. You've to fight for everything these days.

Of 6 different businesses we've had in over last few months doing home improvement to prepare for baby, 4 have mucked up, 3 of which are still unresolved. Sad

Memphisbelly · 28/11/2014 07:50

Viper that is beyond useless I bet you are fuming think about the people who don't collect them until duedate! Hope they resolve it quickly for you

jenmcspen · 28/11/2014 07:56

Sleep in hospital is nigh on impossible. Roll on seeing the doc for some answers...

sandulacek · 28/11/2014 08:21

Hope the scan goes well jen

donkir · 28/11/2014 09:24

Jen hoping things go well today. I hated sleeping in hospital when I was admitted a few weeks back. It has made me pack a eye mask and ear plugs in my hospital bag now though.

Anyone else getting hot flushes? I woke dripping last night and even just sitting here I'm boiling.

Minichuch · 28/11/2014 09:44

Donkir - my body temp is mental, sat at desk in short sleeves top, contemplating opening window as well - I'm roasting everyone else's offices seem really stuffy if I go in them as windows are closed and heating is on

hanflan · 28/11/2014 10:42

Morning all! Ahhhh I've missed days of chat! Been away on a course with work, yawn.
Anyway, updates from my end:

  1. Midwife was concerned that my glucose levels were slightly high at my routine bloods, so now have to do the dreaded glucose test in case I have GD. Boooo.
  2. Pickle is still head down and loves kicking me and pushing her bum up into my stomach. Makes me feel a bit queasy!
  3. Nursery has been plastered, finally! Just have to wait for it to dry so that we can get painting :)

Hope you are all well, sorry to those who have been feeling a bit rotten (headaches, itching, shitty work colleagues etc. :( )

purpleteapig · 28/11/2014 11:07

Hope you get some answers soon from your doctor, Jen, and you don't have to stay in much longer. I second the recommendation for earplugs & eye mask!

I half wish I was getting hot flushes - throughout this whole pg I've been freezing cold.

Grinningcat · 28/11/2014 13:08

I had my bloods and GTT test today. Fingers crossed I am not diabetic, but the test was only becasue my Gran had Type II in her 90s so I'm not too concerned. Will hear on Monday if it's not good, Tuesday at my 28 week app if its ok.

Anybody found any good online black friday deals?

Bangonthedoor · 28/11/2014 14:14

Had so much to catch up on!

jen I'm sorry to hear you're in hospital Hmm I hope you have some firm results very soon.

Had my whooping cough jab today....now just waiting for the awfulness I've been hearing about!

30 weeks today Smile and finish work on the 18th. So looking forward to my last shift. As much as I love my job, I think a bit of motivation goes when you know you're going off for a while. We had a very heated meeting at work yesterday which I just couldn't be bothered to deal with!

Baby wise, all is fine Smile although I think it's in a very funny position as I've had a horrible pain in the top of my bump the last couple of days, like it's squishing an organ or something!

Nice to read your update too tonightsthenight

Bangonthedoor · 28/11/2014 14:19

Oh and in other news I actually sobbed down the phone to Sky this morning because they couldn't fix my wifi Blush
