We went of the 'Ooh La La' design donkir. It is very me! Plus they are a Bolton designed and made brand so I 'had' to buy it because of home-grown loyalty. Just like the only bread i will buy is Warbutons (instant homesickness cure is a toastie loaf) and the only trainers I will wear (without sulking) other than my converse is Reebok. Gotta love a Bolton Brand.

I was just telling my mum about the cover, I told the head in September s no excuses really. My HOD is union rep, so he's already a bit pissed about the lack of SLT interest. Would've liked a bit of handover time for my sakes, my baby's sake and the poor kids that I teach. I dread to think what hotch-podge plan the head will come up with. Probably department cover and use of cover supervisors or maybe long term cover at a push.

sandulacek · 25/11/2014 21:55

Lancashire I quite like the rialto furniture. They have extra 10% off till the end of this week!

GeekyHybrid · 26/11/2014 09:47

I've got to admit that I liked the look of the cosatto giggles, the 'pixelate' one appealed. Fortunately the BIL / SIL gave us! (for all of £50 :-$) a travel system - Graco Quattro - which we figure is worth it for the car seat / carrycot. We figure it frees us up to spend on an all out 'off roader' for walks and camping rather than an 'all rounder'. But I still fancy the cosatto colours. I'll just have to get me some nice bright blankets for my biscuit/cream coloured Graco to cheer it up ;-)

GeekyHybrid · 26/11/2014 09:51

And I just remembered I have a cow print foot muff someone gave me - going to be one clashing eclectic mix going on here :-D

freneticfox · 26/11/2014 12:01

I'm feeling REALLY impatient today; a colleague from a different department just came in to visit with her 10-day old daughter. And I'm now REALLY keen for Feb to hurry up and get here!

L1ttleMissGiggles · 26/11/2014 12:21

Had 28 week appointment yesterday and all is fine, had bloods taken to check iron levels and have to ring up for results 2moro but they can't see a cause for concern. I am measuring just below the average but they aren't worried about that. Bubba is very active which I love. We are away for the weekend seeing family - have a 3 hour drive ahead of us which I'm not looking forward to but hopefully won't need too many wee stops! Blush. Hope everyone is ok, seems to have been a bit quiet on here for the last few days. x

Memphisbelly · 26/11/2014 13:07

Ah frenetic it is seeing a brand new baby that makes me want mine here now, I keep saying ah I really want one!

Have had my 31week appointment, still got high protein in urine and white blood count is even higher, she said I need to see my doctor asap so as im working tomorrow I will try and get in on friday. Measuring bang on for dates and baby is now transverse! I ended up crying saying I feel like my body is giving up on me and that I won't make full term without causing serious long term damage, she was so nice told me to call her whenever I felt I needed too and told me to call her once I have see my 2 consultants by weds next week, she is willing to say she thinks it is in my best interests to be indued at 38 weeks, I really hope they do. Migraines and heart palpatations are pushing me over the edge.

GeekyHybrid · 26/11/2014 13:52

Poor you Memphis, I bet you're still exhausted from your last bout of migraine, they really are draining. Try not to worry too much about baby being tranverse, still plenty of time for them to turn. Get a feeling they'll tell me mine is sideways judging by where all my prods and kicks are :-/ Good luck with doc and consultants, sounds like you've got a good MW supporting you so take it easy on yourself, rest up for the afternoon and we'll all get there. I for one am now counting in weeks on how much longer to go! Hugs to everyone feeling low, xx

Mimosa1 · 26/11/2014 13:57

Oh Memphis, sorry to hear you're feeling lousy. Midwife seems lovely though and I hope that you get your induction if that's what you want.

Was sick of all last night, and went to GP this am - apparently caused by an otherwise asymptomatic UTI. In her words, "everything can make you vomit when you're pregnant". Glam... I've got antibiotics, so should clear up soon. My lovely DH has been an angel while I've been ill - waited 25m outside the GP surgery in the cold in order to be first in the walk-in queue as there was nowhere for me to sit and I joined him for the last bit. Must be nicer to him!!!

Sending you all the best,
Mim

freneticfox · 26/11/2014 13:59

Walked in on people bitching about me at work. Again. I'm getting so fed up of this :(

Memphisbelly · 26/11/2014 14:04

Mim hope it clears soon. Yes would love induction, before last pregnancy I had no problems with my heart, the last month of pregnancy and the stressful labour has aged my heart and damaged it so don't want it to happen again.

Frenetic you need some good comebacks when you hear it what utter twatbadgers.

donkir · 26/11/2014 14:04

Frenetic your work make me so angry and I'm not even the one who has to put up with it. I feel like getting all of us together and giving them a piece of our minds.

freneticfox · 26/11/2014 14:10

Thing is, I'm almost understanding.. I know it's really tough for one person who is having problems TTC, but making me feel like a pariah because I had it REALLY lucky is totally shattering my confidence right now. All I want to do is get excited about my baby boy, but I feel like I can't during the hours of 9-5. And it's behind whispered hands as well, so HR will do sod all.

Memphisbelly · 26/11/2014 14:24

I just do not understand why someone who is TTC can be such a cow towards you yet someone else has just brought a baby in and she isnt being bullied.....not long left for you to leave. The utter arseholes

JacktheLab · 26/11/2014 14:37

Frenetic

Pants behaviour by them, your finishing up on the 19th like me yeah? Three and a half weeks left then Grin

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 26/11/2014 14:56

I got my elcs agreed. Consultant wrote it in my notes that at 34week appointment they'll book the date for elcs in 39th week. I feel very relieved, i didnt have to fight or quote nice guidelines (that id printed and highlighted the relevant bits of). Consultant discussed everyone of my (long list) of reasons for wanting elcs, then he did make it clear that he always prefers women to have vaginal delivery, where medically possible without it resulting in death but followed nice guidelines and said ultimately if I was sure and was happy with elcs risks then he'd do it because as an adult I have the right to make choices about my care. I do feel a bit weird that I'm going to know my babies birth date prior to the birth though.

The only worrying bit is if I go into labour prior to the booked elcs date, he implied that they basically faff around "preparing" until your in established labour, when they won't do cs unless baby or mothers life is in danger. So fingers crossed this little one is happy to stay put until elcs date (DS was overdue so I'm hopeful).

Frenetic the more I think about your appointment with the consultant to ask for elcs, the more I think you should seriously consider complaining. From what you said the consultant felt that the hospitals csection figures were more important than providing you with suitable care - this is never ever ok. She also obviously has no respect for NICE guidelines (which whilst not mandatory and the rules of 'best practice' and any hospital not following them needs to be able to clearly demonstrate, how else they will ensure your medical and psychological needs are met, otherwise they leave themselves very open to being sued - hence virtually no hospitals go against nice guidelines), which say that your feelings/opinions/choices are important and should be respected by the healthcare professionals involved in your care and also that they should properly discuss all your reasons and if your still sure book elcs or refer to a consultant who will. - Later I can copy across the exact wordings of the sections involved if you'd like? I really do hope that you get your elcs agreed at your next appointment.

Mimosa1 · 26/11/2014 14:56

Frenetic, just count the days!!! Is there any chance you can leave sooner? I'm horrified at how nasty your workplace sounds at the moment.
x

purpleteapig · 26/11/2014 15:36

Memphis & Frenetic, sounds like you're having it rough. Memphis - hope you feel better soon & are able to properly chill out over xmas. Frenetic, is there any way you can work from home at all? Those colleagues sound like complete bastards!

freneticfox · 26/11/2014 18:10

WhyohWhy - that would be fantastic; thank you. I hadn't thought of complaining at being treated as a statistic off the bat. I'm definitely going to mention it to my midwife at my next appointment. My second consultant visit is next Tues, so will also mention it then. It's a senior consultant I'm seeing, so I've no idea what to expect.

Mimosa I've only got three weeks left, but I think if I'm feeling this rubbish next week I'll end up signed off with stress. Not taking any risks any more. None.

snailsinlove · 26/11/2014 18:40

Frenetic that sounds horrible for you Sad do get signed off though if you need it, you don't need all that stress. I got signed off from my horrible stressful job and its made all the difference to my well-being, like you said it wasn't worth the risk anymore.

Just had my 28 week appointment and met my new midwife (have just moved to a new area), she's on board for me to have a homebirth but said I probably won't be allowed a birth pool in my maisonette, and would need a structural survey to see how much weight the floor would hold..now panicking as I really don't want to go into hospital, the thought makes me so scared Confused DP and I now considering turning the garage under our living room into my 'ladycave'..moving all the junk out, laying carpet/rugs and wall hangings, pool and nice lamps etc and some portable radiators... is that mad? DP finishes work for two months in a few days so we could realistically do quite a nice job..

L1ttleMissGiggles · 27/11/2014 07:01

Early morning insomnia here today. Been awake for hours, on the plus side have caught up with last nights "apprentice". Time to get ready for work now. Hope you all have a good day. X

Memphisbelly · 27/11/2014 10:56

feeling your stomach rumble way higher than it normally does feels very odd Grin Grin

donkir · 27/11/2014 11:35

Wow 30 weeks today and the moodiness and tears have returned from the first trimester. Approach with caution today.

purpleteapig · 27/11/2014 15:29

So sick of work. People keep coming to me with issues and piling more work on and I want to shout 'I DON'T CARE!!'. Instead I put on my attentive face and pretend to listen while I mentally zone out...3 more weeks to go...

PeppermintInfusion · 27/11/2014 17:30

DH has just booked me a 4d scan as a surprise, and also to take the two grannies as it's the first grandchild and they never had scans themselves. Just wondering it says up to 5 guests, but does that include me or 5 people plus me?
